Addan stood up with a start, but quickly laid back down when he felt the pain. His head was throbbing, and he closed his eyes to make it hurt a little less. He listened around with his ears to see if there was anyone else around.

"Are you ok there, bud?" He knew that voice, he had heard it before. He wanted to open his eyes to see who it was, but wanted to wait a little longer for the pain to subside.

"Wha... What happened?" The fox realized the voice was coming from his left side now.

"My son went looking for you, and he found you unconscious on a river bank near a park. We thought you were dead, but luckily you were still breathing. We brought you back here, and put you in our extra bed." Addan wanted to know where "here" was, so he opened his eyes and looked around. It was bright and sunny outside, with light beaming through an open window to his right. He looked left to see James the fox, from the diner the night before, sitting in a chair near the door. Addan gave him a perplexed look.

"Why was your son looking for me?" Addan closed his eyes again in pain.

"I talked a little to the waitress at the diner, and she said that she was worried you had no place to stay for the night. My son suggested that we take you in as we were driving home, so I turned around and asked the waitress which direction you went and she pointed towards the park."

"Can... can you please get your son in here, I want to thank him." James smiled as he got up and left the room.

"That won't be a problem."

As the fox padded away, Addan decided to get his bearings a little more now that his head wasn't thumping nearly as bad. He looked around the room some more, noticing a clock that read 7:45. Addan knew it was in the morning, because it was only March, so the sun would be set at 7:45 PM. There were a few paintings in the forest green room, and minimal furniture. He was wrapped up in a down blanket, and just realized he was naked underneath. He blushed and started to think about who disrobed him last night. When the younger fox returned, Addan had all but the top of his head under the blanket. "Do you mind getting me some sweat pants, please?" Addan blushed deeply under his fur, and Sig turned back around and started to walk away.

"Sure, I'll be back in a minute." After a few minutes, the fox returned and tossed the pants to Addan. Addan quickly threw them on under his blanket and blushed a little less.

"I'm sorry, my mom said it was best for you to not have clothes so you would warm up quickly. You were quite cold last night." The young fox's eyes avoided contact with Addans' eyes for a few moments.

"Thank you, Sig isn't it?" The fox nodded his head.

"Its short for Sigvard."

"If it wasn't for you I would be dead right now. Thank you so much. Now, if you excuse me, where is your bathroom at?" Sig chuckled a little bit at this.

"Down the hall and to the left, first door." Addan smiled a little and did a slow jog out of the room.

"Thanks!"

For some reason, Addan felt less alone here, almost like he had a family that accepted him. He walked in the bathroom and took a long piss, then pulled up his pants and stared at himself in a mirror. Addan wasn't too tall for a red fox, only 5'7". His deep orange fur seemed to glow in the low light of the bathroom, and his ventral white fur was whiter than most other red foxes. He had always admired his black 'gloves' and 'socks', and black ear tips. He was quite the handsome young fox, he thought to himself.

After a few moments of checking himself over for any cuts, he walked back in to the room he was in to see Sig on his bed. Addan sat down next to the fox and patted him on the back.

"So Sig, how old are you?"

"I'm 18, you?" Addan was shocked, he thought the kid was at the very most 16, considering he was the same height as himself.

"Really? You look much younger to me. Anyways, I'm 20."

"Do you have any family here?" Addan looked down and sighed.

"No, I've been on the streets since I was 17. Luckily my family is on the richer side, so they gave me money before kicking me out of the house. I try to hold my own, but it's hard sometimes." Sig put his arm around the other fox, holding him a little close.

"I'm sorry, Addan. If you want to, I can ask if you can stay with us. I mean, I'm sure my parents wouldn't have a problem with it, just as long as you give them some money for rent."

"Are... are you serious?" Addan was in shock that he was hearing this, but also very happy.

"Of course! You're a red fox just like us, so you're more than welcome here. And don't worry, my family isn't crazy, we just like to help out others like you helped us last night." Addan leaned in and hugged the fox tightly, a few tears forming from his eyes.

"I know I just met you, but I love you. In a friendship kind of way. You have no idea how much this means to me." Sig hugged him back and smiled.

"Aww, you're sweet, thank you. Now, let me go and talk to my parents about this, let's hope for the best." Addan stood up after Sig said this.

"Let me go with you, I want to be there to show my respects."

The two foxes walked down the hall, stopping at Sig's room to grab a shirt for Addan. They continued to the kitchen where James and his wife were doing their normal morning routines. James was sipping coffee and reading a newspaper, while Carol was cleaning some dishes from breakfast. Sig cleared his throat and announced his idea:

"Mom, dad, I have a proposition. Addan told me that he doesn't have a place to live, and doesn't have a family to go to. But he does have money, so... If it's ok, can he stay here with us and pay rent?" Sig gave his parents a big cheesy smile as his dad sipped his coffee some more, then looked at his wife, who gave him a small nod.

"When we get home from work this evening, we'll both sit down Addan and have a one on one talk with him to discuss this. And now that I know Addan would like to stay, we've decided to let you have the day off of school to... Keep an eye on him and let your weekend start early. But no leaving the house, you know how our strict government is about truants. Is that clear?" Sig smiled and contained his happiness.

"Yes dad, I'll see you after work, hope you have a good day."

"Good, there are some pancakes on the counter when you guys want to eat. Now we gotta leave in five minutes, so we'll see you two tonight. Be safe." By now Sig was already walking back towards his room, motioning Addan to come along, but Addan had to get something off of his chest first.

"Mr. and Mrs. Delano, thank you very much for helping me last night. It really means a lot to me." The older fox gave Addan a warm smile.

"Well, you helped us out too, so don't worry about it, kid. But I will warn you, if you do anything to hurt us or our house, you'll be out of here in an instant. Now, we'll talk later, but we need to go. Have a good day."

"You too."

Addan walked out of the kitchen and back to Sig's room. The silver fox was lying on his queen sized bed with his legs spread open, but closed them and invited the red fox to come and sit next to him. "So Sig, where are my clothes from last night? I need some things out of them."

"They just got out of our dryer; my mom washed them last night after we got home. Which reminds me, if you're gonna stay with us, you need some new clothes. We should go shopping after my parents leave."

"But they told us to stay here all day." Addan had a worried look on his face.

"Well, we live on top of a clothing store down below, along with a few other things. It's a lot of fun around here, and it won't be a problem." Addan perked up a little bit at this. He went to the nearest window and learned that they were in fact, in a large high rise a few miles away from the downtown area. "Until then, we'll play some video games, sound good?"

Addan nodded as Sig picked up his two controllers and turned on his system and TV. The two vulpines played a racing game together, Sig naturally winning because Addan never really played games. But they both had fun, and after an hour they stopped and got ready to go do a little shopping. They quickly ate the pancakes and got out of their sweatpants. Addan ran in to the washroom and grabbed his wallet, and headed back to Sig's room. Sig threw Addan a pair of jeans to wear for the time being, and they headed out of the large apartment and down an elevator. When they got to the bottom, they went through the lobby and came in to a court with several shops inside, like a small mall. Addan had never been inside a large building like this, except for his favorite one that he went straight to the top of. There weren't too many furs around, and most shops were closed because it was only 9:30, but they went in to an open clothing store and browsed around.

"So Sig, are all these big building like this?"

"Most of the residential ones are, and these shop owners live in the rooms above. Our apartment is near the top, so it's bigger and nicer. But most are pretty small closer to the bottom. Let's go look at some shirts." Sig said with a smile. Addan got a little closer to him as he looked at the owner of the shop, a cheetah in his mid 40's that seemed to be staring straight through his soul. They looked at some casual graphic tees, and Addan picked out a few with a fox logo on them. He then picked out a few pairs of pants, and ended up in the undergarment section.

"Hey Addan, I think these will fit you perfectly!" Addan turned and gave Sig an expressionless stare as the silver fox held up a red thong.

"Umm.... No." Addan gave a little chuckle as Sig swung them around a little, then he put them back on the rack and padded back to Addan. "I think I'm almost done here." Addan picked out a few more pairs of briefs and walked up to the grumpy looking feline.

"I believe we are ready." The cat kept giving him a stare as he rung up the clothes. After a minute, he was done.

"That will be $66.76." The fox pulled out his wallet and handed him a $100 bill. The register slammed shut as the cat handed him his change.

"Have a nice day, you two." The cheetah said in an angry voice. The two foxes ignored him and walked out of the shop and walked around the court a little longer. They came up to an indoor waterfall and sat at a bench below it.

"Jeez Sig, that guy looked like he was trying to stare a hole through my head." Sig nuzzled him and nodded in agreement. Addan tilted his head a little at this sign of affection.

"I know, he might be on to the fact that I'm not in school. Don't worry though, we'll be fine. Hey! You have to try these pretzels over here, they are the best!" Sig grabbed him by the paw and half jogged to a pretzel stand. Addan gave a small motion to the cashier that he wanted two pretzels, and paid him.

"So what do you want to do after this, Addan?" The cashier gave him the two pretzels, and in turn Addan gave one to Sig. "Awww, you didn't have to do that for me." Sig gave him a small punch in the arm.

"Hehe, don't mention it. Anyways, my head still kinda hurts. Let's eat these and head back up and relax for a bit. Maybe we can go to the roof in a bit and relax up there." The pair walked back to the waterfall and enjoyed their pretzels.

"I've never been to the roof of this building..." Sig gave him a head tilt, and Addan just smiled.

"Neither have I Sig, so it'll be an adventure for both of us." Sig smiled as he finished his pretzel as he stared in to Addans beautiful ice blue eyes. But he got snapped out of his daydream by the sound of two guards running at them.

"You two, don't move a muscle!" Addan looked at Sig, who grabbed his paw and started running.

"This way, we'll run to the elevator and escape." Sig didn't say a word as they ran to the nearest elevators, in the opposite direction two feline guards. They hopped in an elevator and Sig pressed a button for a floor several floors below his. Just as the door closed, the two guards got to the door and banged on it.

"Why did you go lower than our floor?" Addan questioned.

"We'll go to this floor, run across to the other side of the building, and use the elevator that leads to our apartment. This way they won't be able to track us as easily." Addan smiled at his plan. "Good plan, bud."

After getting to the 14th floor, they got out and ran down a long hallway and turned left down another, then ran to the end of that one and hopped on the other elevator. This led them to the 21st floor and right in front of Sig's apartment. Sig unlocked the door and flopped on the couch, Addan following suit on another couch.

"Sig... That. Was. Fun." The foxes panted, nearly out of breath.

"That was nothing. Wait till tomorrow when we can legally leave this place. I would go out tonight, but we need to stay so you and my parents can have a talk. Until then, let's wait a little bit and go to the rooftop." Addan sighed at this.

"I think I'll relax in here for the rest of the day..."
