Thirty-Fourth Chapter, Enjoy! :3

..........

So during the afternoon David and his companions were enjoying their tour of the city of Oreburgh. They've been all around the city, like the Oreburgh Mining Museum; having fossils to observe, looking at ancient artefacts, old tools people used back in the day for mining, even displaying sample of coals from different regions.

Their tour of the museum could have gone better if it weren't for Latias' curiousness. Sticking her nose in where it shouldn't have been.

"Latias put that fossil back!"

_"Sister stop fooling around, you're making a scene here!" _

Luckily not much tourist was there at the time, but that still didn't mean that there weren't eyes watching them awkwardly. Maybe after about a half hour of getting the red Eon Pokemon under control, they soon went out and looked around in the Oreburgh Mine.

When they entered the first part of the cave, the entrance began with a stairwell as David and his companions gradually make their way down, and soon into an underground cavern.

As they got out of the cavern and into a floor, everyone saw a large piece of slab in the middle. There are a few workers digging at the slab, but there are some who are training their Pokémon, most of them Machop's and Geodude's.

"Hey Treecko you up for some training before the big gym battle with Roark?" The trainer asked, turning his head to look at the gecko Pokemon on his shoulder.

He nodded confidently, "Yeah! I'm up for it!"

David smiled while then petting Treecko's head. Every day the gecko Pokemon was getting better and better; being more open, more confident, and especially more happy. It's seems it's like he's never been abused, and the trainer is glad for that.

Soon they all went towards one of the miners who was with his Machop, and by the looks of it, they're training.

"Um, excuse me sir." David said politely while tapping the miner on the shoulder.

"Hm?" He said before turning around and faced the trainer. "Oh, what do you want kid? Me and Machop are training here."

"We know, but maybe you would like to battle me with your Machop against my Treecko."

The miner thought for a moment before speaking, "Well... it would give Machop some better trainer, so yeah I'm for it. How about you Machop?" He asked as then the Superpower Pokemon gave a determined nod.

David gave a smile as he then set Treecko down from his shoulder, "Sweet, let's get started."

..........

Both the trainer and miner were some distance away across from each other while their Pokemon were standing in front of them, ready to battle their opponent while waiting for their orders.

"Okay so this is a one on one battle." The miner announced while adjusting his mining helmet. "The one who can't stand up anymore loses, you ready?"

"I'm ready when you are." David replied while giving a nod. "You ready Treecko?"

"Yup! Just say the word." The gecko Pokemon said while in his battle stance.

"Okay kid I hope you're ready to lose. Alright Machop start with Leer!" The miner ordered as Machop replied by giving an intimidating glare at Treecko, making the gecko Pokemon stare at the Superpower Pokemon in surprise and just stands there frozen in place.

"Treecko snap out of it, he's only trying to intimidate you." David said towards Treecko, but the timid Pokemon just stands there, looking at his opponent with fear. 'Damn, this is not looking good for Treecko.' He thought while watching the unmoving Pokemon.

"Why's Treecko not moving? If he stays like that he'll for sure get hit by an attack." Latias said on the sidelines while watching the battle, along with Latios and Lucario.

"That Machop used Leer. It's supposed to intimidate their opponent." Latios explained while his Eon sister looked at him. "What? I learned a thing or two from David... Also Leer-"

Latios was about to explain more when he was then cut off by the Aura Pokemon, "Lowers the opponent's defence." She said while having her arms crossed and watches the battle.

The blue Eon Pokemon looked at Lucario with a questionable expression. Normally he would glare at the Aura Pokemon for interrupting him and snap at her, but he wasn't; he's trying to restrain himself.

"Hey, you're not the only one who learned some things from David." Lucario told Latios. The male Eon Pokemon didn't say a thing after that as he gave a slight nod before he and everyone else kept watching the battle.

"Machop now's your chance, Karate Chop!" The miner shouted while the Superpower Pokemon's arm started to glow white as he then run towards the still Treecko, the side of his opened hand ready to strike the gecko Pokemon.

"C'mon Treecko snap out of it, you're about to be attacked!" David yelled worriedly while watching the Machop coming closer towards the gecko Pokemon.

Once Treecko heard his trainer's voice he immediately shook his head, "Huh? Wha?" He said confusingly while coming back to his senses.

"Treecko look out!" The trainer shouted, getting the gecko Pokemon's attention as he then focused on Machop.

"Whoa!" The gecko Pokemon shouted while jumping back, making the Superpower Pokemon chopped his hand to the ground as there was a small crater from the impact of the attack. 'Oh Arceus that was close.' He thought while going in his battle stance, ready for the trainer's commands.

"Okay Treecko use Quick Attack!" David said as the gecko Pokemon quickly went all fours and ran towards the Superpower Pokemon at top speed, having a white glow behind the gecko's trails. He ran at different directions, doing zigzags to confuse the opponent as he comes closer.

"Machop watch your opponent!" The miner said, but once Machop had his senses, he got hit by the gecko Pokemon slamming his body against the Superpower Pokemon; making him yelp as he fell and skid on the ground towards his trainer.

"Way to go Treecko!" Latias cheered as she clapped her paws excitedly. The gecko only blushed and smiled at this.

"Hmm, not bad kid... But you're gonna have to do better than that." The miner said while crossing his arms, giving a smirk.

"We've only just begun." The trainer said while smiling.

"Is that so? Well then Machop run towards Treecko!" The miner ordered as the Superpower Pokemon did as he was told and began running towards the gecko Pokemon.

'What is he thinking?' David thought to himself as he watches Machop running towards Treecko. 'I know he's up to something, but I don't know what that is... and I can't just let Treecko stand there.' The trainer let out a small growl as he grits his teeth for a moment before speaking, "Treecko use Pound."

The gecko Pokemon nodded as he also ran towards Machop before jumping in the air and spins around a couple times, making his tail turn sharply with his body as it was about to collide the Machop, aiming at his head.

The miner only smirked wider at this, "Use Seismic Toss."

The trainer's eyes grew wide at this, 'Oh shit.' He thought while trying to warn Treecko, but it was too late as he saw Machop grabbing Treecko's tail and started spinning around with the gecko Pokemon in his grasps.

Treecko only yelped and tried getting out of Machop's hold, but he was too strong as they were spinning like a top. When they were spinning at high speed, the Superpower Pokemon lets go of the gecko Pokemon's tail and sends him flying.

"Treecko!" David cried worriedly as he watches the gecko Pokemon fly towards a boulder nearby. The impact was very... unpleasant as Treecko hit his back against the boulder, making him cry in pain as he then fell onto the ground. Everyone could see a small crater on the large hunk of rock from how hard the impact was.

The red Eon Pokemon gasps at this as she had her paws up to her mouth, worried for the gecko Pokemon as well as her brother and the Aura Pokemon feeling worried.

"Treecko!" The trainer shouted towards the gecko Pokemon, but got no response. "Treecko are you alright?!" He shouted again. The thought of feeling defeat and Treecko's condition was in David's mind for a second before he then saw the gecko Pokemon grunt as he began to stir.

"Uhhhgg..." Treecko groaned as he slowly got up, shaking slightly as he gently rubs his back. He winces as he then hisses in pain, feeling a bruise slowly starting to out.

"Treecko are you alright?" David asked again as he saw the gecko Pokemon's back, seeing a faint purple bruise beginning to form.

Treecko nodded, "Yeah... I'm alright. Let's keep going David." He said while slowly going in his stance again, the look of determination placed on his face.

"Pfft... I thought that could of finished that Treecko off, but it seems he's being too stubborn to not lose." The miner said to himself. "Okay Machop use Karate Chop!"

The Superpower Pokemon nodded as he begins charging towards the gecko Pokemon again with his arm glowing.

"This again? Alright Treecko jump up to dodge Machop!" The trainer said before Treecko shake off the slight pain on his back as he jumps up, dodging Machop's Karate Chop. "Now use Pound."

Treecko gave a slight nod as he was coming back down, but not before he then starts doing small summersaults in the air. The acceleration of those summersaults makes the impact hard once anything gets hit against his tail.

"Machop look up and prepare yourself!" The miner warned while watching the display from the gecko Pokemon. The Superpower Pokemon looked up as he then put his arms up in an 'X' shape to protect himself.

Once the impact hit, Machop grunted from how hard the hit was against his arms, making him skid backwards as he digs his feet to stop him from going any further.

"Hurry Treecko use Quick Attack." David called once the gecko Pokemon lands on the ground before doing what the trainer said and charges towards the Superpower Pokemon.

"Machop dodge it!" The miner shouted, but Treecko was too quick as he hit the Superpower Pokemon's midsection making him yelp and fell as he skid across the ground again (wow... a lot of skidding in this battle X3), but what everyone didn't expect is that Machop was skidding towards a nearby boulder. "C'mon Machop stop yourself!" The miner cried, but it didn't do any good as Machop was skidding too fast. What's making the miner more worried is that the Superpower Pokemon collided the boulder... head first.

Machop groaned loudly before lying limp as he has swirling eyes and having a large bump on his head, indicating a K.O.

"Ahh, dammit!" The miner said in frustration, realizing his defeat.

"Oh yeah!" David and Treecko shouted in union, jumping in the air and raised their fist in victory. Then suddenly the trainer saw the gecko Pokemon glowing white again, but this time it was stronger and more visible. "Hm?" The trainer kept watching him, but the glow only lasted a few seconds. 'He must be getting close...' He thought while feeling excitement of the thought of Treecko evolving.

The miner began walking over to his Machop, kneeling beside the Pokemon and holds him up, "You did great Machop, return." He said while getting his Pokeball out and returns the knocked out Machop.

David smiled as he saw Latias and Latios floating over to the victorious gecko Pokemon, congratulating him as he blushes from both of the Eon Pokemon's compliments. Heck even Lucario gave a pat on Treecko's back for doing a good job.

The trainer kept watching his companions celebrating until he notices the miner coming towards him, "Well kid I gotta hand it to you, your Treecko is one tough Pokemon." He said while offering his hand.

David smiled at this, "Hey your Machop is really strong, you trained him well." He admitted while shaking the miner's hand.

"Yeah I guess, but we still got long ways to go." He said as David nodded.

"With enough training I'm sure your Machop will be super tough to beat."

"Heh, yeah... Well anyways I think this belongs to you." The miner said as he pulled out some cash for the trainer and gave it to him. "Now if you'll excuse me I need to head to the Pokemon Center." It was the last words he said before walking towards the exit of the floor they're in.

David then put the rewarded cash into his pocket as he then walk up to his companions, "You did an awesome job Treecko. It seems that you're getting stronger after every battle." He said, smiling to the gecko Pokemon.

"Aw, well I wouldn't of done it if it weren't for you." Treecko replied while smiling back and then went up to jump into the trainer's arms.

David smiled at this and gently hugged the small Pokemon so he doesn't hurt the bruise on Treecko's back.

"So shall we get going?" Lucario said while having her arms crossed and lightly tapping her feet.

The trainer looked at the Aura Pokemon while having Treecko in his arms and nodded, "Yeah let's keep going everyone." He announced as he and his companions continue their way through the floor.

..........

David and his companions had a couple more battles on their way. Having many victories mostly from Treecko as some of the others participated. Lucario having flawless victories and as for Latios... well he had to hold back when he battled since his strength was beyond any Pokemon here in the Oreburge Mine. They fought a few Machop, Geodude, and even a Golem which was quite strong as they had a struggle fighting against it. But Lucario manages to beat it; just barely since they both have their weakness from the other as they have their advantages as well. So it was close, but with the Aura Pokemon's speed she was victorious.

"Well anyways here you go." A different miner said as he handed David the rewarded cash.

"Thanks." The trainer said politely as the miner went off to probably go and heal his Golem. "... So Lucario how are you holding up?" He said while looking at the panting Aura Pokemon.

"Oh... I'm... doing fine... just... leave me here... and let me cough... my lungs out." The female canine said while having her paws on her knees, panting heavily.

It was then that the trainer walked up to Lucario and patted her back, "You did great Lucario that was a close battle." He said while the Aura Pokemon looked at her mate before jumping and wraps her arms around his neck, hugging him.

"Oh thank you David, that means a lot coming from you." She said while nuzzling his chest before she then gave him a kiss to his cheek, making him blush a bright pink.

"U-Um, you're welcome Lucario." David said while hugging her back lightly.

Latios only rolled his eyes at this as he floated towards the two, "Despite that Earthquake almost beat you, Lucario. But... I admit that what you did was impressive in the end, so good job." He said while feeling weird giving the Aura Pokemon a compliment.

Lucario nodded to the blue Eon Pokemon, "Um, yeah thanks Latios." She said while still holding the blushing trainer.

"Anyways let's get going everyone." The trainer announced and was about to walk, but the Aura Pokemon was still holding him. "Um, Lucario? You can let go now." He said while feeling her holding him tighter.

"But I'm tired David, can you hold me?" She said while looking into the trainer's eyes. "Please?" Giving him puppy eyes as David blushed even more.

"Sure... I-I see w-why not." He said while Lucario smiled seductively and murrs in the trainer's arm, nuzzling his chest again.

'Oh for Arceus sake, every time.' Latios thought while shaking his head lightly, letting out a soft sigh.

"C'mon guys let's keep going, we haven't explored the rest of this floor yet." Treecko said while sitting on the back of Latias.

David nodded, "Yeah let's go everyone."

Everyone nodded as they continue on their little journey in the Oreburgh Mine.

..........

So David and his companions kept walking the rest of the area of the floor. Not seeing much as they only saw rocks and miners and... more rocks.

They were talking among themselves, with Lucario still holding David dearly; too busy snuggling against her trainer.

As everyone was talking, David and including Lucario, both accidently bump into someone.

"Oof... Oh sorry sir." The trainer apologized as he and his companions only saw the back of the person. From their perspective the person seems to be a male with a grey jacket with some gold trims at some areas of the jacket. Matching grey pants also with some gold trims, and wearing black boots.

Once the person turned about and faced everyone, David quickly realized who this person was, 'Whoa, it's Roark.' The trainer thought while staring at the Oreburgh gym leader. "Well anyways I'm sorry again for bumping into you, I should of watched where I was going." He said while chuckling nervously.

"Heh, it's alright." Roark said while everyone sees that he wore glasses and a miner's helmet, as well as white gloves. His red hair is about shoulder length as it looked tied back. "... Wow, that's a good set of Pokemon you have there, a Latias and a Latios." He said, quite impressed at David's companions as both Eon Pokemon waved kindly to gym leader. "And a Lucario and Treecko." He finished while the other two Pokemon waved as well.

"Thanks, so you're the Oreburgh gym leader, right?" David asked feeling a little stupid for saying that, but he just wanted to be sure.

"Yup! I'm Roark the Oreburgh Gym Leader." He replied while smiling towards the trainer.

"Well it's nice to meet you Roark... Hey why are you here anyways? Don't you have a battle going on?" David asked since he knows that Marcus was going to battle Roark.

"Well I was, but the trainer I was battling had the advantage since his set of Pokemon all had their type advantage against my rock and ground Pokemon, he even beat my Rampardos... But hey me and my Pokemon still put up a good fight." Roark said confidently.

David nodded, "I would think so."

"Hm... You know after I gave that trainer the gym badge, he was in a hurry... saying that he needed to see a friend." The gym leader told David. "Say... you wouldn't happen to be his friend, would you?"

"Was the trainer wearing an orange tank top, brown shorts, and an orange hat?" The trainer asked.

"Yes that's exactly what the trainer looked like, I'm pretty sure his name was Marcus."

"Yep that's the guy." David said while nodding. "We only met today and well... let's just say our meet wasn't as pleasant." He told while letting out another nervous chuckle while Lucario growled quietly from remember their meet.

Roark only nodded at this, "Well I'm sure your friend is still looking for you, I don't want to keep your time here talking to me." He said while then picking up a pick axe that was beside him. "Hey, why not come by the gym tomorrow? I would love to battle against your unique set of Pokemon."

David smiled and nodded excitedly, "I will be looking forward to it, so yeah I'll definitely be there tomorrow." The trainer said as he and the gym leader shook hands.

"I can't wait; my Pokemon should be ready by the next day." Roark said as he smiled back and the trainer nods.

"Well anyways I'll see you tomorrow, so see ya Roark." David said while letting go of the gym leader's hand and waved to him before he and his companions began walking towards the exit of the floor. 'Wow... my first official gym battle.' The trainer thought while the feeling of excitement and anticipation was bubbling up inside of him. 'And to think that Treecko is gonna evolve very soon.' He thought while glancing at Treecko with a soft smile.

"David I can't wait to battle that Roark guy, he seems strong." The gecko Pokemon said while still riding on Latias' back.

The trainer smiled more, "Yeah he is, so we're gotta prepare ourselves for tomorrow... That goes for everyone else since some of you will be battling Roark as well." He said while the rest nods.

"I'm all for it." Latios said with a smirk.

"Me too!" Latias followed, feeling thrilled.

"You know me I'm always looking forward to a good battle." Lucario said last while cracking her knuckles.

"Heh, well save your energy you guys, the battle isn't till tomorrow." David said to everyone as they approach closer out of the Oreburgh Mine. 'This will be interesting...'
