(This is just the first part of the story. I'm uploading it just to get people's opinion on it and how it seems to be so far)

For Nerrik, an anthromorphic squirrel, the day on planet Uedik was about to become very eventful. As he walked down the cobble streets of Khail, A group of city guards ran by with their Norinco Type 86S's out and loaded.

"What seems to be the trouble?" Nerrik asked one of the guards.

"A Raak was spotted at the southern port!" a young male anthromorphic Lion answered, still running. Nerrik got out his Makarov and followed the group of guards. The southern port was where his zeppelin was docked and waiting for its daily routine of ferrying people and goods from the city of Khail to the town of Theregood and the military base O-8. After about 25 blocks of running, they reached the southern port and sure enough a Raak was flying around, but this Raak looked different than the others. This Raak looked like a red dragon, like many, but all over its body in large gapping cuts were metal plates and one of its eyes was replaced with a metal ring with a lens in the middle. The guards began to open fire on the Raak but the bullets weren't doing anything, at least not from this distance.

"Alright," the captain of the unit shouted out, "which one of you civilians owns a zeppelin or an air vehicle of some sort?"

Nerrik raised his hand and the captain nodded at him, "take five of my men up with you." Nerrik nodded without hesitation. He ran onto his zeppelin and filled the cast iron engine with a nice load of coal. The smokestack bellowed out thick black smoke into the long balloon over head as well as starting up the large copper propellers. Five guards boarded the zeppelin and Nerrik, getting into the control column at the front of the zeppelin, began to fly away from the southern port and after the Raak. The column was only tall enough to fit Nerrik who was about five foot two. Inside was a copper stick that was used to steer the zeppelin, a lever to adjust the zeppelin's altitude, a button to increase and decrease the energy input of the zeppelin, and a second golden stick to either speed up the zeppelin or slow it down. It's maximum speed was 35 miles an hour, slower than other same sized zeppelin's, but the engine Nerrik installed was the only one he was able to afford and in the end, the cheap engine had paid for itself greatly because it did not require much maintenance.

Other zeppelins were taking off with more city guards, all headed towards the Raak. The Raak stayed in place, flapping its large wings as it watched the zeppelins approach it. When the zeppelins were in range, the Raak opened its mouth and instead of firing bursting out of its mouth, a barrage of explosive rocks blew out towards the zeppelins. Some of these rocks were as small as pennies, others the size of a motorcycle. As the rocks collided with the wooden zeppelins, they exploded and sent smaller chunks of rocks outwards. There was enough damage to send a little less than half of the zeppelins down to the water below. And yes, Khail is a floating city. Nerrik steered his zeppelin around to the back of the Raak and the guards opened fire at the wings of the creature. Holes began tearing through the flesh of the wings and as the Raak began to descend towards the water, so did the zeppelins; they wanted this thing dead.

The zeppelins flew all around the descending Raak, the guards opening fire at the Raak continuing to damage it further. Its wings were shredded and its scales were falling off, revealing more metal underneath. When the Raak hit the water, large bolts of static electricity shot out and hit a few of the zeppelins, disabling their engines. The few that were suddenly suffering from engine failure began to descend towards the green waters below. The double sun shone brightly directly overhead through the thick orange atmosphere. Nerrik began adjusting the levers as to get the zeppelin to ascend back towards the southern port. As he looked himself over, he saw a few tears in his white shirt and brown overalls. He put on his utility gloves and pulled some bits of sharp rock out of his legs, seeing small stains of blood on his overalls.
