"Where are we headed?" I said out loud.
Drevon responded happily "to my ship..."
Elden looked up suddenly "do you mean you have a spaceship near by?"
"Oh my no... It's located in Ecuador... I had no idea where the perfect individuals for my purposes would be found."
"Ecuador?" this from me Flo and Elden, the doctor just sat there watching our responses smiling and saying nothing.
"Of course... there is a lot of uninhabited territory there, we are headed to a transport point..." I had to ask "you mean like a matter transporter?"
"No... there are very few of those, and fewer that function properly, we will board a vehicle that is powered by the heat of the earth, there were many such placed here when earth was first discovered by our probes... over many thousands of years some have found them by accident and others have a racial memory of them being built and as such the idea for them ends up in your books and movies."
"So every planet that is discovered with life has them installed?"
"Of course... well every planet with a molton core, it makes it easier to monitor and travel upon said planet incognito until such a time as said planet reaches the point where the change can be administered and the testing begin, once we are at my ship you can use my library to ask whatever questions you like."
That was worth thinking about "So how long will it take to reach this transport spot?"
"About a day, its located some distance from here in an unpopulated area..."
As we rode I took notice of the land, I was seeing using my sense of smell and now as we got further from Fainbourn I was able to smell nature without the pervasive and comfortable (not as comfortable as when I was human, or so I can almost remember) smell of humans. Nature is more alive with smells then you can imagine... every living thing has a smell that until now I was never able to appreciate fully... and looking over at Elden I could see him doing the same, he was smiling faintly and his nose was twitching a mile a minute I then noticed my own and felt the many muscles making my nose move.
It was like when you turn your head to catch a sound the muscles did the same in my nose and did so without my conscious thought... I felt Renai moving and looked down to notice that her nose was moving as well, not to mention her whole body she was actually trying to stand up in her carrier, it seemed the untainted smells of nature had her as fascinated as me and Elden.
I suddenly noticed the darkness and I became aware of the sun having set already, it was late evening and we were drawing close to a range of boulders and broken granite.

Renai suddenly started to cry... dinner time... so I set her to feeding and as if on que the wagon stopped and Drevon was the first to speak. "We have reached the outer edge of the petrified forest of Krennin, we should stop here for the night, it's a bit treacherous even in the daytime, the horse could easily slip and break something..."
"How long have we been traveling?"
Drevon looked at his pocket watch "about 3 and a half hours" seemed longer to me, he climbed down and began to go through his pack. He continued "I don't think we will need a tent tonight it seems warm enough and I don't see any clouds" both me and Elden sniffed the air "I don't smell any rain" I looked at Elden and we both smiled, he was right of course I didn't smell any either.
Drevon chuckled "I see you have become very attuned to your new bodies abilities... good..."
I had to ask a question "this new sense of smell goes way beyond what I can remember of my human senses do we only use our noses?" I was curious "it seems as if it could not acquire all these new smells by itself..."
"Very observant of you" I blushed though with my fur I doubt anyone noticed then I saw Elden watching me and he smirked... well someone knew "...are correct we have a few extra organs specifically designed to locate and classify smells."
"Where are they located?"
Drevon unpacked his sleeping bag and I noticed the doctor had already gotten down and unpacked his as well, so me and Elden got out our bags as I gently stepped down from the wagon, I didn't want to interrupt Renai while she fed being 6 and a half months old she would become very fussy if disturbed while eating.
"One is located on the roof of your mouth right behind your top front teeth" and as he said this I used my tongue and could feel a flap of skin.... funny, I never noticed it before "the other 2 are located near the base of each ear, basically sensitive hairs that have a large number of olfactory cells..."
I saw Elden reach up and brush against the base of his ear, he shivered and I was suddenly very curious so doing the same I got an almost orgasmic sensation as I touched it as well... the soft patch of fuzz was very sensitive, and Drevon knew this as I shivered I noticed him smile knowingly and almost laugh, I then happened to notice the doctor smiling widely 'I must ask him his true name the doctor does not sound right anymore'.
"The Doctor spoke "hahaha I see they have just been made aware of another very sensitive part of their anatomies..." Flo blushed and I tried to hide my head in my chest... Elden cleared his throat and smiled.
I needed to change the subject... Elden had our sleeping mats out and had blankets as well, Drevon had set up Flo's sleeping bag and I walked over to stand next to Elden... "shouldn't we start a fire?" I hoped that would turn the conversation away from ears... then I saw Elden make a rolling motion with his fingers and I knew then that our sex life just got more interesting...
"Your right Nuree let me just get it going."
I turned to the doctor "Doctor Burt now that we know your not human what is your true name?... because your true title is not pronounceable..."
"Actually my name isn't pronounceable in your language either however if 'doctor' does not feel right how about 'Vrit'... that's about as close as you can come to it unless you spoke our language..."
"Vrit it is then" it sounds better to I thought to myself.
The fire was blazing nicely Flo had gotten in her sleeping bag and was asleep... Vrit had gotten into his bag and was just looking up at the stars Drevon then spoke... "We should get to sleep we are going to be up early tomorrow I want to get packed and moving as soon as possible..." I agreed and climbed onto my mat next to Elden, Renai by now had finished eating and was beginning to nod off, I set the straps on the carrier and she went to sleep.
I snuggled up to Elden and hugged him he then reached over and rubbed my lower ear... I shivered and smiled he smiled back... as soon as the rest were asleep we moved off into the forest and mated twice, then headed back to camp, the last thing I noticed as I rested my head on my chest to sleep was Vrit looking at us smilingly knowingly, I wonder if he is thinking of his own family... then as Elden placed the blanket around us I fell asleep.

Renai 6.5 months old
I was dreaming of my human family when suddenly I was awoken by a loud crunch.
"Sorry about that" Elden apologized "I broke a branch as I got up..."
"That's ok it seems Renai didn't mind" she was still asleep smiling and twitching... must be a good dream... she was making little happy sounds, I then looked back up at Elden.
"What time is it? the sun hasn't risen yet..."
"6:14 AM"
Then I noticed that the others were already packed it appeared me and Renai were the last to get up... I then folded my mat and put it in my pack Elden then grabbed his pack and mine and put them in the wagon.
"Excuse me" I needed to answer the call of nature, as I headed towards some bushes I could smell where the others had been and I was suddenly taken with the urge to go where Elden had gone... since I was in no shape to refuse I did so... it seemed correct and was something I must ask Drevon about, it had happened before but had never been questioned by me, must be my new surroundings.
As I finished I felt Renai wake up, she needed to be changed... as she gurgled happily I changed her, placing the soiled items in a special washable airtight pouch on the side of the carrier... once finished I set her to feeding and rejoined the others.
Drevon was the first to speak "are we all ready to go?"
And without another word I climbed onto the wagon and we started off.
It was a bumpy ride and I watched the sun rise as we traveled, some of the petrified trees actually sparkled in the light as I was watching them... suddenly we came to a halt "here we are" Drevon said loudly. I looked around noticing for the first time that sun was near the middle of the sky, had I been looking at those trees that long?
We were stopped in front of a large pile of broken petrified trees, very similar to the many others located near it. Drevon reached into his pack and seemed to fiddle with something suddenly the pile split in half and a large silver disk appeared, he tapped on a tree, there was enough room for the horse the wagon and us as well. Drevon led the horse and wagon onto it Vrit me and Elden just sat in the wagon.
"You noticed the pattern I tapped on the tree? well there is a small combination tumbler consisting of mercury a natural battery and a small electric motor located inside a hollow spot , with the right pattern of bumbs it causes the mercury to switch on the motor and trigger a series weights and balances that cause the rods to either move towards eachother or apart from eachother in effect as either an opening mechanism or closing mechanism."
"Where are we going again?"
"Ecuador" that's what I thought he had said, it just sounded strange to me.
Suddenly the pile of petrified trees begin to close in on us and I was afraid we would be crushed however the disk started to lower as well and I relaxed... it was like an elevator ride, me and Elden looked up and saw the trees come together, then we were bathed in a greenish light.
Drevon spoke "the green light comes from phosphorescent algae that grows on the sides of the shaft..."
"When we reach the bottom a dome of unbreakable material will cover us, if your wondering the disk is made of an electronic material that radiates gravity and allows anything on or near it to be held in place... we are breathing air the seeps through the shafts electronics, the air is extracted from the surrounding rocks."
"All that is well and fine but you said Ecuador, just where in Ecuador are we heading?"
"Glad you asked we will be heading to one of it's largest volcanoes Chimborazo* the ship is located about 500 meters from our exit and about 50 meters down... if we kept moving in a straight line we would eventully reach the city of Riobamba* its' where the constitution of Ecuador was written..."
We just watched him and I felt myself starting to drift, he must have noticed.
"But I see I have given to much information at one time... do not worry everything will be explained at the proper time Nuree."
Worried? Me? never... I'm just on my way to Ecuador as an Alien with a child a husband and assorted friends to ride in a spaceship and leave earth.
