((You know it's been a while since i actually read this... and i've recently started to read a webcomic called 'Gene Catlow' similar sorta lines... hell if i'd have known about that comic when i started this i could've got inspiration from it to help fuel the furry hate in my story ^^ oh well. Also will post these 4 chapters more today and some more tomorrow, already been in trouble once today better not push my luck.))

Chapter Five - A Hidden Secret

As usual we were watching TV for the late night scary movie, but I could tell something wasn't right.

"Oh, thanks for helping me out today. A little more money for the weekend." I said,

"No problem." She said.

I could tell in her voice that something was up, I knew her too well to know when something was on her mind, and I wondered if I should be concerned with what was on her mind. I jumped up onto the sofa next to her.

"I can tell there's something up..." I said,

"It's nothing... forget it." She said.

That was a tell tale sign that something was up... but why did she not want to tell me... since we were little we told each other everything.

"Since we were little, we've told each other everything Viv... you know you can trust me." I sad,

"I know I can... it's just..." She started,

"Just what? It's not about all them guys talking earlier is it?" I said,

"Kinda..." She said,

"Don't listen to them, a bunch of nonsense... when you find someone you like, hold onto them and don't let go." I said,

"Okay." She said quietly.

A moment later she had flung her arms round me and kissed me before I even blinked. After a few seconds she let go and sat back down, she blushed... something I had never seen her do. I had a problem...

"I'm sorry Dixon..." She said, I could see a tear forming in the corner of her eye,

"I don't... I didn't know you felt that way about me Viv..." I said still a bit stunned,

"Are you telling me you never thought of me that way?" She said looking at me with sparkling eyes,

"Well..." I looked away embarrassed,

"You did?" She said,

"Once... but I kept telling myself, you're my friend and I didn't want to ruin our friendship." I said,

"I have secretly liked you since we were thirteen." She said,

"That's over two years!" I cried,

"I know, I couldn't help myself... whenever you were near me I could feel my heart race." She said.

She placed my hand on her chest and I could feel her heart beating quickly.

"There were times when I just wanted to hold you close and never let go." She said,

"I don't know what to say..." I said,

"The other night when you told me about you and Sil'ferr... I was putting it on... deep down I felt shattered... I thought that I may have lost you." She said,

"You'll never lose me Viv." I said.

A tear rolled down her face as I held her close to me, she looked at me and I wiped the tears away and this time... I kissed her, I could tell that she did not want it to end. In the end we turned off the TV and curled up on the sofa and went to sleep.

As she slept I lay awake thinking of how this could be a bad thing... I was confused and lost within my own thoughts, why did this have to happen to me... I haven't had a girlfriend ever... and now I fall for two at once... what had I done to deserve such punishment? I didn't know what to think, I needed some time alone but that would have to wait since I was curled up on the sofa with Vivian in my arms and I didn't want to leave her, I'd just have to get away tomorrow.

Sil'ferr

If I were to say I wasn't worried about Dixon being with Vivian after today I would be lying, I was worried that something might spark between them, but I couldn't blame them, Vivian was a beautiful girl so how could anyone resist. I guess deep down I hoped nothing would happen. I lay awake with thoughts of Dixon and me in the park that night with just the stars in the sky, I wondered if that was just a moment passed or was there really something between him and me.

The next morning when I had got to school I met up with everyone, but Dixon was missing, we all waited around for him, at break time, at lunch time and then it was time to go home and he'd not shown up. Even Vivian was a little worried, as we headed home I thought I had an idea of where he could be and broke away from the group and headed towards the playground where I knew he goes at night. And sure enough he was there sat in the same spot he was before, the sun was going down casting a red glow across the horizon as I walked up to him.

"Hello Dixon." I said,

"Hi Sil'ferr." He said not looking away from the sunset,

"We missed you at school today is something wrong?" I said,

"I needed some time alone to think that's all." He said,

"You usually have an answer straight away, what could possibly be the matter?" I asked fearing the answer,

"I'll be honest with you, you deserve that. I kissed Vivian last night... the atmosphere and the emotion got the better of me, but I don't know what to make of it." He said,

"Did it mean anything to you?" I asked feeling slightly upset,

"I don't know... I didn't know what to think." He said,

"Can you tell me what happened?" I asked,

"It was a normal night for us, although I could sense a change in the atmosphere. Soon enough she kissed me and told me how she'd felt about me. After that I kissed her..." He said.

He jumped down from the bar of the swings and walked up to me.

"But I think I know where I stand now." He said,

I wanted to find out what he thought.

"Do you still think I'm beautiful?" I asked,

"...No." He said,

"Do you want to be with me forever?" I asked trying to find a 'yes',

"No." He said again,

"Would you cry if I were to leave?" I asked feeling like I wanted to cry,

"No." He said looking like he wanted to cry,

"Do you still like me?" I asked feeling tears building up,

"No." He said.

I couldn't believe what he had said... I was heartbroken. I started crying as I turned to run away as he caught my arm. I turned round to look at him even though I didn't want to.

"I don't think you're beautiful... I think you are a gift from heaven." He said.

I didn't know what I felt... I just stood and looked into his emerald eyes and listened to him.

"I don't want to be with you forever... I need you to be with me forever, I wouldn't cry if you walked away... I would die... I don't like you... I love you more than life itself." He said.

I didn't know what to say, I just ran into his arms and hugged him tightly as more tears began to flow, I couldn't think straight I was so happy. I just wanted to stay in his arms until the end of time. After hugging him tightly I let go and he escorted me home. When we arrived outside my house we had to part, I didn't want to but we did, he gave me a kiss and walked off. I went inside feeling over the moon, I could hear my mum and dad in the living room but I went straight upstairs and jumped on my bed and went over everything again.

Chapter Six - Good Times

The next day I woke up before my alarm clock buzzed, the sooner I was up the sooner I could leave and meet Dixon, I didn't care what time it was. My mum and dad thought it was strange me been up so early... but I couldn't tell them about this... because firstly I'd never get my dad off my back and secondly... the secrecy was kind of exciting. After my dad and mum quizzed me about me being up so early I managed to get ready for school, I've never been so excited about school in my life. Soon enough we were waiting outside Vivian's house, she looked a bit glum and I knew why... I suppose she'd talk to me sooner or later. After a few minutes of waiting we saw Rico and Dixon coming and were ready to go. As we were walking Jen was talking about the book she had been lent by her cousin, but no one was really listening, Jen was one of those bookish types... although she didn't look it. No one seemed to notice me and Dixon walking at the back holding hands either, we arrived outside of the school gates and I let go of his hand as we all huddled into the group.

"Oh yeah I forgot to mention... it's my birthday on Saturday... and my parents are away, so I want to invite all you guys round." Jennifer said,

"Yes a party! Will there be any girls there?" Irvine joked,

"No you silly boy, just you guys." Jennifer said,

"Shame..." Irvine said hanging his head in a funny way.

Everyone laughed and headed into the school grounds, Dixon and me hung at the back again we were discussing... and when I say discussing I mean whispering... the party.

"Sounds like fun doesn't it?" Dixon said,

"Yeah, no grown ups and just the bunch of us having a party... its gonna be a blast." I said,

"I remember the last party Jen threw... she may be a bookworm... but she can throw a good party." Dixon said,

"What are you two whispering about back there?" Jennifer asked.

We had both looked up to see them all looking at us with funny looks on their faces, I could see Dixon had already come up with something by the look on his face.

"Okay... we were just discussing what we should do to birthday girl this year... remember last year Rico?" Dixon said.

Rico thought for a minute and then seemed to remember because a big grin spread across his face.

"Oh yeah... that was a good one." Rico said still grinning,

"No pranks this year guys... I mean it." Jennifer said,

"Okay then... you're the boss." Rico said,

"And besides... the fire extinguisher is still broken from the year before." Jennifer said.

Everyone else tried to contain their laughter, I could tell pulling pranks on Jen was commonplace with these guys, although it did make me wonder what they did. We spent the day talking about what we could do at the party, I was more excited than anyone... it had been quite a long time since I had been invited to a party... what would I wear? When time came for school to finish we all gathered up outside but were hindered by the absence of a few friends.

"Now this is weird... we're not waiting for us two." Rico said,

"Who would've guessed it would be Jen and Irvine that are late?" Dixon said,

"Well at least it's not detention... that would've been a bad thing." Vivian added,

"Jennifer in detention... don't be ludicrous Viv... the day she's in detention is the day Hell freezes over." Foxx said.

We heard someone's footsteps from inside the hallway and Irvine emerged rubbing his cheek.

"I know that look." Foxx chuckled,

"Don't start..." Irvine said,

"Shot down again huh." Dixon grinned,

"I've been shot down so many times I should be given a medal..." Irvine joked at his own misfortune,

"Don't feel bad Irvy... they don't know what they're missing out on." Vivian said,

"I guess you're right... because in the end I know I am... a GOD!" Irvine said.

Jennifer had walked up behind him and slapped him on the back of the head.

"Behave Mr God..." Jennifer said,

"Okay... I'll try." Irvine grinned.

We all began to walk home, the weather was becoming more and more dreary as the season changed to winter... but I didn't mind the weather much anymore. The wind was blowing softly although just a little chilly as we walked along, we were still talking about the party when we bumped into some old friends of Jen's.

"Jennifer, long time no see." One of the girls said,

"It has been a while." Jennifer replied,

"Too long if you ask me." Another girl said,

"Oh and happy birthday for this weekend Jen." The first girl said,

"You remembered." Jennifer beamed,

"How could we not, you used to be our friend and we could never forget." The other girl said,

"I'm having a birthday party this weekend, you should come if you're not doing anything else?" Jennifer said,

"Sounds top notch darling... as long as your cute friends are going too?" The first girl said looking over at the guys,

"Oh we'll be there alright." Irvine winked,

"Then we'll definitely come... we have a lot to catch up on Jen. So we'll see you there." The first girl said,

"It's tomorrow... I'll see you there." Jennifer said.

The two girls walked off and we got into rethinking the party.

"I haven't seen them in ages... I'm glad we bumped into them." Jennifer said,

"So am I... I'm talking hotties there." Irvine howled.

Foxx and Rico laughed as Jen hit Irvine with her bag and told him off, Jen was feeling like it was a bad idea inviting her old friends round with Irvine there but finally gave in and decided to let Irvine come as long as he behaved. The party involved us all going round and doing stuff until the cows came home, we were told to inform our families to not send out search parties since we were going to be gone all weekend. I didn't care if all we were going to do was sit and watch movies since I got to do it with Dixon.

"Yo Silph... you look miles away." Jennifer said,

"Huh... oops... I guess I was. I was just thinking about the party." I said,

"I hope you weren't thinking anything sinister?" Irvine asked,

"Oh no... I don't have a sinister mind." I said,

"Darn it... I thought I had a friend there." Irvine joked,

"I don't think anyone has you're kinds of thoughts man." Foxx said,

"I am what I am... can't change that." Irvine said,

"Yes you can, if you try. Why can't you be more like Dixon?" Vivian said,

"Like Dixon? Oh you mean totally devoid of emotion?" Irvine joked,

"I have feelings you know..." Dixon said,

"Yeah... he's sweet, kind, smart, loveable and a gentleman." Jennifer said,

"Please stop..." Dixon said blushing a little,

"Are we embarrassing you?" I said,

"A little..." Dixon said,

"Are you saying Dixon is more loveable than moi?" Irvine joked,

"Yes." Vivian, Jennifer and I said simultaneously,

"I hang my head in shame." Irvine grinned, "Hold me Foxx."

"There there buddy." Foxx said patting him on the back,

"See somebody cares about me." Irvine said,

"You'd make a great couple guys." Rico chuckled,

"I love you Foxx." Irvine said,

"I love you Irvine." Foxx said.

Then they just burst out laughing, it was quite funny actually. We all laughed for a while and then carried on. As we reached the road where we split up Jen yelled at us to tell us to be there for 6:00pm, we all nodded and carried on walking home. Dixon walked with me to my front door.

"We're going to have a good time right?" I asked,

"Sure we are, no matter what we do... we might even end up playing twister like last year." Dixon laughed,

"I hope there will be some point of the party when it's calm." I said,

"There will be... Jen hasn't got a lot of Stamina for all night party marathons... she'll be at lights out before two in the morning." Dixon said,

"I hope so, otherwise we won't get any time to ourselves." I said,

"Time to ourselves..." Dixon gulped,

"Just messing with you. I'll see you at the party." I said.

He gave me a kiss and I went inside. I told my mum and dad about the party and they were delighted to hear about it... although I didn't tell them who was going, if I told them only a few people were going my dad would probably freak out. I spent most of the evening trying to pick something out, I really have to go shopping sometime.

Chapter Seven - Party Mood

Dixon

It was getting late and my mum and dad were working late... again, so I was sat talking with grandpa. I like being with grandpa... but I just wish my dad was around more.

"So is it going to be another wild party?" He asked,

"Not really... not even a prank to pull this year." I said,

"That's too bad... I like hearing about them." He chuckled,

"It's just going to be me, Viv, Jen, Irvine, Rico, Foxx some of Jen's old friends... and Sil'ferr." I said,

"Oooh, who's Sil'ferr, you never mentioned her before?" He asked,

"She started at our school a while back, she's our friend now." I said trying to get off the subject as quickly as possible,

"I see... is she pretty?" He said,

"Grandpa... please." I said,

"Oh come on kiddo I'm only kidding..." He said,

"That's good." I said.

He sat and looked at me in the way he does to get me to talk, but I wasn't going to crack for a second time.

"Grandpa... stop it, I'm warning you." I said feeling a smile forming,

"I know you can't stand this... you'll break before my back does." He laughed,

"Okay okay... she's absolutely gorgeous." I said finally cracking,

"Gorgeous eh... could this be a new emotion I see in you?" He joked,

"Laugh it up Gramps... I've had it all already." I grinned,

"It's just you've never really thought about someone this way before kiddo, apart from the once when you said you had a little crush on your friend Vivian." He said,

"And you promised to keep that to yourself." I said,

"And I have, as will anything you tell me to." He said.

I started to tell him about everything that had happened until now, after it had all sunk in he started the whole 'I remember my first kiss' thing, I didn't know whether to be interested or bored by his story... so I met in the middle and just listened to it. When he was finally done, he'd forgotten why we were on the subject in the first place.

"What were we on about anyway?" He said,

"You know I can't remember." I said getting up,

"Your memory isn't that bad kiddo, you just want to avoid whatever it was we were on about." He said,

"You may be right... night grandpa." I said as went to bed,

"Heh Heh... Dixon and Sil'ferr." He said to himself.

The next day I was round at Vivian's, she was trying to find something to wear as I talked to her.

"I don't know what to wear... why does everything I own look tacky?" She said,

"Well outfit 245 looked alright to me." I joked,

"Don't joke about these things Dixon... at a party a girl has to look spectacular or her life is over." She said going into the cupboard for the 6th time,

"Man you got it bad... for a guy as long as the socks match, that's fine." I said,

"Typical guys..." She said throwing a pillow at me,

"I wonder if there'll be anymore surprise guests?" I said,

"I doubt it... after last year I bet she wants to keep it small." She said,

"Last year... what a night that was." I said,

"Well this year is going to be good too, Jen said it's going to be eventful... although she mentioned no specifics." She said,

"It better not be a book club idea... the last thing I read was the little caterpillar... when I was four." I said,

"We read that together didn't we?" She said,

"Yeah we did... we did a lot of stuff together." I said.

She came out of the cupboard with about six outfits she threw them all on the dressing table and sat next to me.

"We still do a lot of stuff together... I just hope my little emotional outburst that night doesn't stop us from hanging together?" She said,

"Course not... we've been friends too long for anything to split us apart." I said,

"What about a big earthquake and the ground splits and there's a big hole?" She joked,

"Now you're being silly." I said,

"Then we are alike." She said going back to the cupboard,

"What do you mean by that?" I asked,

"I know the main reason why you're here, but you are thinking if you should really say it or not, and it's silly that you're even thinking that... I mean we can tell each other anything right." She said,

"How do you do that?" I said,

"I can read you like an open book Dix... there's no point in trying to hide anything from me... and same goes for me." She said,

"I guess so..." I said,

"So are you going to tell me what's up, or do I have to guess." She said,

"Well..." I started but couldn't carry on,

"Hmmmm... your nervous about being at a party with Sil'ferr, you know how the guys get when one of us hooks up with someone and want to avoid it... being at a party with Sil'ferr may show everyone how close you two really are and thus start the whole thing off... stop me if I'm close." She said,

"Couldn't have put it better myself?" I said,

"Just try to remain inconspicuous... but you'll end up slipping up sometime in the future, why not get it over with and then you can enjoy the time you spend together." She said,

"Do you really think Jen's party is the best time to bring this up?" I said,

"Good point... you know, no one has any idea about you two apart from Foxx. He may be a bit strange... but he's no fool, he told me that he thinks something's going on between you. So I'd watch out for him." She said,

"Okay..." I said,

"Anyway onto the main puzzling question... what outfit am I going to wear!" She yelled.

Sil'ferr

It was just a few hours until the party and I still hadn't picked out anything to wear, I sat on the floor in my room with clothes all over the floor, my bed and my dressing table. I looked around at the mess as my mum walked in.

"Oh no... fashion crisis." She joked,

"I can't pick anything out." I said,

"Does it really matter what you wear to this party?" She asked,

"It's a matter of life and death." I said,

"Oh come now dear, what's so important to dress up for?" She asked,

"If I tell you will you keep it to yourself this time?" I asked,

"You heard me that night?" She said,

"Yup... please mum I want to tell you things, but I want them to between just us." I said,

"I'm sorry, but last time I was excited that you'd made friends so soon. This time will be just us." She said as she came to sit with me,

"Okay... you know Dixon?" I said,

"The one you thought was incredibly hot?" She said,

"Mum... please don't say it like that... although perfectly true." I said,

"Yes I do." She said,

"Well we both like each other, and I want to look nice instead of the medusa I always look like." I said,

"You always look nice sweetie, why would you think otherwise?" She said,

"I don't know... maybe because I've never been overly obsessed with my appearance and I should be." I said,

"You must really like this guy." She said,

"I do... he has a really pretty friend... and he wanted to be with me instead of her, which tells you how he feels about me." I said,

"It does, will I ever meet him?" She asked,

"Maybe... he might come to take me over." I said,

"What's he look like?" She asked,

"He's kinda short, grey with long ears, quite longish hair and dreamy green eyes." I said,

"Sounds nice... but I think you should get your skates on it's already five past." She said,

"Five past... what am I going to wear?" I cried,

"I'll give you a hand." She said.

Me and my mum had been looking for something for 25 minutes and finally came across the perfect thing, I was getting ready as she went to answer the door.

"Hello Mrs Aurora, we're here to take Sil'ferr to the party." Dixon said,

"Well you must be Dixon, Sil'ferr has told me a lot about you... but didn't say you were this cute." She said,

"Well I see she told you the important things." Dixon joked rather nervously.

Vivian just rolled her eyes and tutted.

"She'll be ready in a few minutes." She said,

"It's okay mum, I'm ready to go now." I said tying my hair back.

When I stepped into view I could see Dixon's jaw drop, not literally but I could tell.

"Close your mouth Dix." Vivian said.

I giggled as he composed himself.

"Have a nice time dear." She said,

"You look great Sil'ferr." Dixon said,

"Enough lovey dovey stuff and lets go party!" Vivian said.

Chapter Eight - Time to Party

As the three of us headed to Jen's house Dixon and me tried to keep the conversation topical since Vivian was with us, and I bet she felt slightly uncomfortable already without us going on and on. We managed to get to Jen's house last... I was quite taken back, Jen's house was huge. As we walked in everyone greeted us with the 'Late again' routine, but we just shrugged and settled in for a long party. Jennifer was actually last to join since she was still picking out an outfit, a theme which had been running for most of the day from what I heard. When she finally appeared things started to get going, music was going in the background and everyone was chatting away, and Irvine was getting slapped again (Giggle) it was great fun.

"So what did you do to Jen last time?" I asked,

"Well we rigged the fire extinguisher to go off when it was picked up and started a 'controlled fire' and Jen went to get the extinguisher and you get the picture." Rico said,

"You are so mean." I said,

"Well things have to be done sometimes." Rico said,

"I suppose it was kinda funny... and it did liven the party up afterwards." Jennifer said,

"But never again I suppose." Dixon said,

"Yup, and if you do... I know where you live." Jennifer giggled.

Everyone went off to do something else, I was beginning to feel a bit funny and Dixon told me why.

"I feel a bit funny you know." I said,

"That'll be the drink... since we don't drink any alcohol yet Jen makes the stuff with a special recipe from her Gran which sends you hyper, it's really good stuff." He said,

"Well I do feel a little hyper, kinda like when my old friend used to drink Dr Pepper." I said,

"Don't worry, it wears off and you feel really tired, it's a thing she uses to get rid of people too." Dixon laughed,

"Well I hope I don't fall down before we've had a dance Mr Dayne." I said,

"Err... Sil'ferr..." He gulped,

"What?" I asked,

"I can't dance." He said,

"Well I'm going to have to show you then." I said.

Well Dixon did his best to show me pool so I will do my best to show him dance. While I did I could see Foxx talking to Vivian.

"Is it me or do those two look close to you?" Foxx said,

"Who?" Vivian asked,

"Dixon and Sil'ferr... they've spent a lot of time around each other lately and I'm beginning to think there's something there." Foxx said,

"You think? Hang on... this is Dix we're talking about here, the guy has turned down every chance he's had." Vivian said,

"Well... maybe... I guess you're right." Foxx said,

"Maybe she's going to be another friend like me, I mean Dixon and me are close aren't we?" Vivian asked,

"Yeah but..." Foxx started,

"But what?" Vivian asked,

"You've been around since the beginning, they've known each other for just a short while, how could they possibly have a friendship like yours?" Foxx said,

"You know Foxx... you're not as dumb as you look." Vivian said,

"Shall I take that as a compliment?" Foxx asked,

"Keep it to yourself though, they want to avoid the third degree from everyone." Vivian said,

"Yeah... I know what that's like. So how long?" Foxx asked,

"Seems like love at first sight... it's kind of sweet actually." Vivian said,

"So the guy has a heart after all." Foxx said,

"Come on he's had a heart all along, just didn't want to give it to anyone else until now." Vivian said,

"Okay Okay... I'll lighten up." Foxx said,

"Good, now I need a drink to send me doo-lallie." Vivian said getting up.

I wondered what they were talking about as Dixon and me went to sit down for a bit, I tried to teach him how to dance... but he had it in him all along... I was amazed at how he could do the same stuff as me, most guys can't. I ended up asking him.

"Well, spending most of your younger years with your best friend who's a girl makes you do different things to the big lads..." He said.

"Come again?" I asked slightly confused,

"Okay this is going to make me sound a little girly... I did acrobatics and gymnastics with Vivian for quite a while, until we made friends with Rico and the other guys... which means I'm a little more 'agile' than most guys you'll meet." He said,

"That's a surprise... it doesn't make you look half bad either." I said,

"Thanks... I guess." He said,

"But looks are only skin deep... I want to get to know the you on the inside." I said,

"Maybe some other time..." He said looking away,

"What's wrong?" I asked,

"I'll be back in a minute... just need some air." He said walking off,

"What's up with him?" Vivian asked as she came over,

"I don't know." I said,

"What did you say to him?" Vivian asked,

"I just said I wanted to get to know him better" I said feeling confused,

"Sorry, but don't go there..." Vivian said,

"Why what's up with that?" I asked feeling weirded out,

"The words troubled past come to mind... just be happy with what he is now than digging into what things were like in the past." Vivian said,

"Is it really that bad?" I asked,

"Just please don't ask him about it." Vivian said,

"Okay, I won't." I said.

Dixon

I was stood outside thinking of an excuse to get out of telling her my life story when I heard a noise from behind me. I turned round to see a dark hooded stranger.

"It's you again... you told me to help Sil'ferr out that night." I said, _ _

"That is correct." He said,

"Why did you tell me... there must've been other people you could've told... although I'm glad you told me." I said,

"I told you because it was something I had to test you on." He said,

"Test? How can helping someone be a test?" I said,

"If you don't know then there is more for you to do." He said,

"Just what are you testing me for anyway?" I said,

"Because I believe you have a gift that you are unaware of, but I need to test your heart and soul to help you believe in it." He said,

"Listen pal... this isn't some video game, I'm just an ordinary kid with ordinary friends and I don't like being taken for a fool." I said feeling myself getting worked up,

"You sit and stare at the night sky most nights, don't you?" He said.

I was taken back by this, hardly anyone knows this about me and I had no idea how this guy did.

"How do you know that?" I asked,

"You do it because you feel like you know there's somewhere else out there, a place where you really belong." He said,

"That's... right." I said now wanting to find out what he had to say,

"I can't tell you if there is something out there, who knows if there is... but I say if you believe there is then it will exist." He said,

"Why are you telling me this?" I asked,

"I believe that you have a gift that you need to find within yourself, but until you start believing then you won't make any progress in finding that place out there." He said,

"I don't know what you've been smoking... but it must be some good stuff to help you come up with that story. Like I said... I'm nothing special." I said,

"Do you really believe that?" He said,

"Why do you think I have a special quality?" I asked,

"The signs are showing in you... and there's no mistake in my judgement." He said,

"Do I look like I have a sign tattooed on my forehead saying special guy?" I said sarcastically,

"My time here is up... I leave you with a message and a gift... Fulfil the prophecy with Fire, Wind, Water and Earth." He said.

He started to leave, I tried to run up to him but I felt as if I couldn't move. I stood and watched him leave.

"Dixon? Are you feeling okay?" Vivian said.

I felt like that line was a slap to the face, I was able to move again... I don't know what that guy did to me but I was a bit spooked by the whole thing, I decided not to tell anyone... they might think I was crazy.

"Yeah, I'm fine... guess I just fazed out for a bit." I said,

"Come on Dix... you've been stood out here for an hour, everyone's wondering if you got lost out here." Vivian said,

"An hour... doesn't time fly when... thinking out loud." I said,

"Your being really weird now... come on, before you go all loopy on me." Vivian said.

She grabbed my hand to take me inside when she stopped, she looked towards my hand and looked puzzled.

"What's that?" Vivian asked.

I opened my hand and there was something in it, it was a small grey jewel, this must've been the gift the guy said he'd left me... the weird thing was... I knew what it was, but I shouldn't since I'd never seen anything like it before.

"It's a... good luck charm... I feel like I need one nowadays." I lied,

"Well it doesn't matter... come on let's get back to the party." Vivian said.
