Am I dreaming?

I jerked my head awake.

"That's all for today class" The bear smiled with a paw on his desk. He must have slammed it down while I was asleep. "And now for your homework assignment." The whole class groaned at his words. As much as the whole student body loved his class of music appreciation, it was one of the hardest in the entire school. The only furs that even dared to take his class were the gays, transvestites, and the academically daring.

I chose his class because he was exactly as my friends described him and still is very lenient with his tests. And I am gay. But I don't think anyone else knew.

"Oh come on class, let us make it interesting. If every single fur in this class passes this particular work with a 95 or better, I'll paw my dick during next class. If you don't wish to watch that, you may leave for the day." He smirked with lust. I just looked at him with my jaw agape; we all did. One of the hottest if not thee hottest professor knew the sexuality of the entire class? That was something we simply could not believe. A human named Jacob raised his hand.

"Professor? Do you really feel comfortable doing this? I mean how do you know we'll show up at all." He spoke in such confidence that it was hard not to agree with him. He smirked further.

"Oh, well, I don't know. Previous classes and your last three homework grades tell me you will. Provided you all pass" He rolled his eyes, and chuckled. "You guys could never hide your sexuality from me even if you tried." I looked around the room. And I just noticed something. There were only two females here. I chuckled.

"Ok, Mr. Galani, please tell us who is expected to show up and who is not" I said with an inviting smile. He looked at me funny, like I was trying to cause trouble. He smiled after a bit and pointed to the girls and me.

"I don't expect you three to show up at all." He said coldly. "And now for your piece. You are to decipher the meaning of the song using only the title and one line of lyric." We looked at him with funny faces. He had to be joking. Something this simple had to be a joke. "You guys may leave now. On your way take a slip of paper out of the hat" he pulled a large top hat out of the space beneath his desk.

The class stood up and collected their things in unison. I sighed and picked up my things. For this class I only carried a pen and notebook. Moving into the mob around the hat I slowly moved my paw into the cliché top hat, and pulled out a slip. Then as if sensing me grabbing the paper, the autonomous mass forced me out of the door.

After catching my breath I pulled out my phone, I snuck my favorite song on and stuck my ear buds in my semi floppy dog-ears. I looked at the tiny note once the music was in:

_Pink: Funhouse: this used to be a funhouse, but now it is just full of evil clowns. _

Figuring that the courtyard would give me a bit of inspiration, I headed there. The courtyard, or the crime scene as most of us called it, was a big field with walking pathways running up and down the double soccer field. When you left out of the main building, on the far side would be the A, B, and the C buildings. The A building was mainly for admissions and such, while the other two held classrooms.

To the left would be the parking lot and the right would hold Lake Limeira. Ask any fur back then about the Crime scene and they would have told you one thing and one thing only: this place is cursed. When I went to Chairs County Community College, for the last 10 years, a fur has disappeared on the exact same two dates every year like clockwork only to reappear disoriented and confused a week later. It would be at the lakeshore, in the exact same spot; right in front of the supply shed. Creepy really.

I soon found myself sitting on the bench in front of the lake. Using the water as a mirror, I looked at the reflection. I was about 5'10'' in height and looked like a normal German Sheppard aside from the white fur. My muscles bulged as I flexed them, my tight black shirt highlighting my white fur. To be honest, I liked doing this abets. It relaxed me when I was stressed.

"Yupp, Just as always" I remarked. Smiling I sat back down on the brown wood and took out the paper in my kaki pocket. "Well at least I have all night for this and no other classes till...today's Tuesday?" I counted the days on my paw. "Till three days from now. Better get started"

I pulled out my assignment and stared at it. Pink's words were a mystery to me really. What did that lemur mean? "This used to be a funhouse," I murmured out loud. "What does this mean? I don't fucking get it" I kept stressing at it for what seemed like hours. But looking back it wasn't; more like 3 minutes. A Raccoon brought me back to reality.

"Working on that assignment for music appreciation class, Dart?" she spoke with an accent that can only be achieved from something more feminine. Her name was Dharma. Normal coon markings. Blue ribbon on her tail. Not much to mention for looks, but she always wore a floral print dress. Today's was blue with purple flowers.

Even if she was a little blunt with it, Dharma was funny. That was how she scored dates. The coon could carry a story making Seinfeld look like a potty joke. It's also how we became friends. She asked me out, to which I turned her down. I told her she was funny and all, but 'you're climbing up the wrong tree'.

"Yeah, any clue? This is due for tomorrow and a free day off rides on me getting a 95 or higher." She smiled, to which I frowned.

"Nope; you're barking up the wrong tree, puppy. I'll only tell you if you go on a date with me" We both burst out laughing. It wasn't funny in a standup way. It was as if Dharma was never going to let me live it down for rejecting her. I was almost glad really. I felt as though I could be myself around her. Like I didn't have to hide.

Most of the other guys would be either too bitchy drama queenish, or so insecure with their sexuality that they would over compensate by acting as masculine as possible; both of which I had to hide my sexuality from. The drag queens would try and date me (I don't like drag); and the jocks would kick the crap out of me. But with Dharma and the other girls she hung with out with: Sarah, Jess, and Niki, I didn't have to care. I was like that gay guy who hung out with the girls and flirted with the guys. Only difference was I was a simple freshman.

"Real funny, Dharma. You still want to fuck me don't you?" I said in the most playful way possible. Her response surprised me.

"Yeah, a lot. To be honest, you're the hottest guy in campus" she bit her lip and looked down on the grass. I looked with her with not hatred but understanding. That whole saying of the cute ones don't swing your way seemed true. I felt sorry for her and wanted to comfort her a lot, but I didn't know what I could do.

"Do you want me to find a guy that is just as hot as me? Cause I have a brother, who might be interested." I consoled. Her ears perked up as I said this and she practically jumped on me in a very friendly hug. "Taking that as a yes. I have to warn he is a year younger than me," I confirmed. She started crying into my shirt, nuzzling me in the process.

"Yeah it's fine. I like younger guys anyway. Besides he can't be much different than you." She remarked. Looking up she smiled at me making me feel like I just heard her deepest darkest secret. She let go of me and stood up with pep and vitality. "Hey, I have an idea Dart. We should go behind the supply shed."

"I might enjoy that a lot." I stood up and paused. "Hey Dharma? Isn't today one of the days for the cruse?" I hesitated a little. She turned around and smiled.

"I think it's tomorrow Dart" she said with a demeanor that made her look like she was lying. "Besides I need you to help me find my lucky bracelet," I sighed.

"You lost it again making out with Ferguson, again, didn't you?" I joked. I padded on. Ferguson was her on-again off-again BF. I don't know what she saw in him though; he was verbally abusive, sexually aggressive with other woman, and a total dick head. I didn't like him one bit. As I pondered this idea, I soon found myself standing next to the coon in front of the shed.

"Dart, I want you to understand something," as she said this I was pulled into something slimy. The shapes were black, shiny and looked like moving ropes, I don't know what it was but I could see Dharma reaching out for my paw. As I fell back I reached for hers. Our paw tips touched sending waves of grief into my body. I was pulled deeper and deeper into blackness eventually losing conciseness.

I awoke to a lush green forest as my new environment. The long extinct trees that once populated the earth now shrouded me from a bright yellow sun. I was dumbfounded in all this beautiful lush green.

"Huh, where am I? Yellow sun, green plants, and most of them non-existent." I repeated out loud as I wandered aimlessly. I eventually found an asphalt road, sniffed the air to find unfamiliar scents, and jumped back as what I learned later was a car came barreling down towards me at 65 miles per hour. As it whizzed by the driver put on the brakes and made a swift U-turn.

A few seconds later I found the car next to me, the chubby human driver was asking a question. He was wearing a moss-green polo t-shirt with blue denim. His skin was a semi-tan white, blonde hair, and a silver ring on his right middle finger. Because I was zoning out a little I asked him to repeat it.

"I've never seen a fursuit as good as that before, wanna grab a coffee?" he repeated with much joy.

I looked at him with confusion as I got in the vehicle. I asked with a dumb look on my muzzle, "What is a fursuit?"
