#6 of The Dawn of Destiny

((This was my first attempt at an original story, before this it was all fan-fiction and the like and i actually regret writing it meh. This story tells of the origins of my fursona an Arctic Grey Fox called Dixon. It's written in the first person for the most part and switches between two of the main characters, each are marked so you know who's perspective it's from, it's a somewhat mushy teen romance story with a bit of plot set-up for the actual story which was supposed to follow on from this but i never got to writing it. Hope you enjoy. ~Fox))

The Dawn of Destiny

Introduction

Gigotropolis City, a large thriving techno city a jungle of towering skyscrapers of glass and steel. In the centre of this jungle stands the biggest building, a company devoted to technological advancement, OmegaTech Industries. The citizens call it OT or OTi for short, thousands of people are employed within this vast company. To the public it's one of the leading developers of computer software, computer hardware and other forms of computer technology and has only recently begun on Robotic engineering. They seem like the perfect company but the facilities and workshops in the underground levels are restricted to even its own employees and sometimes arouse suspicions but are cast aside as quickly as they arise.

The city has another major problem, the people that live there are overly aggressive to the furry community that also live there. Assaults on them are commonplace and the police department does little to nothing to halt these actions.

Prologue

The sun had gone down behind the towering skyscrapers and the sky glowed a fiery red, which began to die down as the street lamps flickered into life casting their gentle glow over the city streets. Dark clouds began forming in the sky as people scuttled about finding their way home as it was going to rain heavily. A vixen ran down the dirt path that ran around the edge of the park as some high school bullies chased her, as she ran she looked back to catch a glimpse of her pursuers and tripped over a tree root that had protruded from the earth. She tried to get up but was knocked back down as the bullies caught up to her, they all looked at her on the ground and laughed. It started raining.

"Why are you chasing me? What have I done to you to deserve it?" She sniffed,

"Cos we don't like you... I just decided." The big one laughed,

"That's no reason..." She said, she felt like crying,

"Yeah it is... we do what we want, if you want a better reason then... we don't like you're kind here, so I'm gonna give you something to help make you realise that!" The big one said as he raised his stick in the air.

She braced herself for the strike but heard a sound of someone falling on the floor and looked up to see one of the smaller kids on the floor and getting to his knees. She was unsure what to think.

"Just who do you think you are tough guy!" The big one said,

"You shouldn't be picking on those who are different from you!" A voice said from the dark of the trees,

"Come out and I'll stop... I'll deal with you instead." The big one said,

"Yeah, I'll tear you limb from limb!" The little one said as he tried to brush off the mud on his trousers,

"That seems fair... six on one..." The voice said,

"Okay then just me... I can take you on... you sound like a pussy!" The big one said.

The guy stepped out from behind the tree and stood in front of them, his sweatshirt was soaked with rain and his hair was covering most of his face as it dripped wet as well.

"Hey, I recognise you..." The little one said,

"Yeah I thought you're voice was familiar... you're Rico's friend... you called me a retard before and now I'm gonna make you pay!" The big one said,

"Rico called you a retard moron..." He said,

"Well you'll pay for it anyway!" The big one said as he leapt forward swinging the stick around.

He managed to avoid the mindless swinging easily enough, the girl saw that they were more interested in the fight than her so she decided to take this opportunity to run away. She ran as fast as she could not knowing if it were tears or rain drops running down her face, if that guy hadn't come to interrupt them they might have seriously hurt her. When she made it home she was wet through, she didn't expect to be caught in the rain and she was covered in mud. When she walked into the living room her mum was the first to speak.

"Look at the state of you! I thought you were going to look around... why are you so dirty?" Her mum asked,

"I had a little problem..." She said,

"What kind of problem?" Her dad asked,

"You were right about some of the people here dad." She said,

"It's my fault darling, I should've turned down the job and stayed where we were." Her dad said,

"It was a great opportunity dad, you couldn't turn it down." She said.

Her dad just sat down again and grumbled, her mother told her to get some dry clothes on and tell her what had happened. A few minutes later she had come back down.

"So do you know who it was?" Her mum asked,

"No... but they were wearing blue school uniforms." She said,

"Well at least they aren't at you're new school, it doesn't have a dress code." Her dad said,

"They were threatening to beat me with a stick." She said,

"It was just an idle threat dear, they may sound tough but you'll find they won't really do it." Her mum said,

"Well it didn't matter, someone intervened." She said,

"Intervened... any ideas who it was?" Her mum asked,

"Nope, I couldn't even see his face... his hair was in the way. They seemed to know him though." She said,

"Well if he hadn't have stepped in I don't want to imagine what could've happened." Her mum said,

"I hope you don't get involved with people like those bullies and the other guy, he may have stepped in to help but he sounds like trouble to me." Her dad said,

"I bet he isn't like that at all, the way he was talking to them sounded like he doesn't get into that kind of thing often. I didn't even get to say thank you..." She said,

"Well if you're lucky he may go to the same school as you are going to tomorrow." Her mum said,

"You think so?" She said,

"There are a lot of schools here... the odds are slim." Her dad said,

"Why can't you be more supportive?" Her mum said,

"I just don't want ruffians like that in our lives." Her dad said,

"Well I'm going to bed... I'll see you in the morning." She said.

"Night dear." Her mum said,

"Goodnight." Her dad said.

As she lay in bed she wondered if things like this were going to happen everyday, she tried to sleep but the thought lingered in her mind.
