My first EVER story!! Please, no hating, hate comments, or hating this story so much you decide to nuke your computer. I am fine with polite corrections if you find something grammatically wrong. If you would like for me to continue this story (which I plan on doing so anyway) leave a comment saying so. If this story and/or characters is familiar to you, please tell me so and I will try and figure out why and what to do. One more thing: I cannot seem to find good chapter names, so I am open to suggestions. Other than that, ENJOY!!!!

Prologue
**By the way,"*" means Ryun (or, unless I tell you, some other character) is thinking to himself**
*I do not like to think of myself as a monster.* I solemnly thought to myself. Once again, I was sitting alone during lunch time. I was laying down in the shade of a tree. I had just finished my lunch so I had nothing to do but think. It was the third day of school and I still have not made any so-called "friends." Ever since the first day I have been known around school for having extreme anger problems. Somehow that labeled me a monster all around school and, consequentially, the forest. "You do not seem like a monster to me, Ryun." A very deep and somewhat demonic voice says to me. *I am pretty sure that nobody alive or dead cares what you think Rukan.* "Well, something we can finally relate on. Nobody cares for your thoughts either." Rukan says back. *Well, you seem very caring of my thoughts.* I say with a teasing tone and a snicker. A deep growl resonates throughout my body. "You know very well I have no interest in your thoughts. Unfortunately, I am forced to hear your thoughts. Every. Single. One." Rukan tells me in an angered tone. Not that that is any difference from his usual voice. I bet you are wondering what is going on here. "I am not." *Shut up, Rukan.* Well, I guess I can tell you from the beginning, because it will not make sense if I tell you from now. "Are you SERIOUSLY going to do this to me!! I am a DEITY!! A freaking DEITY!! I do not want to hear you talk abo" *Anyway, blocking out my good friend Rukan...* "Friend?! FRIEND!! I never wanted to know you!!! *JUST SHUT UP RUKAN!! I got nothing better to do!!* Well, where was I? Oh yes, the beginning. I guess I can start from when I was in school as an Eevee...

I live in a forest that is so large that nobody in my village knows what lies in the southern half of it. While I was an Eevee, I lived with my parents. My mother is a sweet and caring Leafeon that never stopped smothering me. She always supported my decisions, even if they were not always of her preference. My father was a cold Flareon. I mean emotionally cold when I say that. He seemed to never care for me. He always wanted to control my life. And not like an over caring parent either. He wanted me to be just like him, but I never listened to him. He just did not see things the way I saw them.
My home is sort of a cave under a tree. To get in, you have to go through a hole in between the roots of the tree. I also went to school as an Eevee. Since I do not go to that same school since I evolved, I call it "past school." You graduate from past school when you evolve. Pokemon that cannot evolve at all go to a different school. But that is another story entirely.
I had quite a few friends in past school. There is Slash the Sandshrew, who was my first friend outside of home. He always knew how to make anyone smile. Then there is Flare. She was absolutely the most beautiful thing I had seen up to that point. She was a Cyndiquill at the time. Then there was Mina. Mina is Flare's friend. Mina was sort of forced to become friends with me and Slash, because she wanted to stay friends with Flare. Then there is Mr. Teach. He is a Hoot Hoot. He became a teacher when his eye sight started going bad. He never evolved because his eye sight went bad when he was young, so he couldn't battle very well. That is when he decided to become a teacher.
Coming back to what I wanted to tell you, something happened at the end of school that forever changed my life. It was the day I evolved, left home forever, had my heart broken, and met Rukan.
"Have a nice day honey!" An angelic voice spoke out to me. "I will mom!" I said as I walked away from her. "Oh, wait!! Ryun!" "What mom? I have to get to school!"
"You will, you will! I just wanted to ask you what you are going to evolve into today. I know it is your choice, but can you at least think about being a Vaporeon?"
"I will mom. Now can I go to school or is there something else you want to say?"
"Just that I love you my baby!!"
*groan* "Mom, I am not a baby anymore!! Now, I am going to school." I walked off as my mom turned away. My dad does not see me off from home when I go to school because he likes sleep more than he likes me.
I walked through the forest in the direction of where class meets up. It is a clearing about half a mile away from my home. So when I go I like to take my time and just enjoy being free. I have heard of trainers and their capture balls. *I am never going to get caught by a human!!*
Suddenly, there was rustling in the bush to my right. I stopped and listened for a moment, but heard nothing at all. I just assumed it was the wind and I kept walking. But I had that weird feeling where you feel like you are being watched. But I just brushed it off thinking it was my over active imagination. *I just need to keep walking and meet up with Slash.* However, right after I thought that, something hit me from behind and pinned me to the ground. Then I heard a very deep and gruff voice ask me something. "Wha-What did you say?" "I said..." The deep voice answered. "How scared are you?" "P-Pretty sc-scared." I stuttered pitifully. Then I heard laughing and the weight on my back rolled off to my left. I frowned and looked to my left, and found my best friend rolling on his back and laughing like a maniac. I got up and stared down at him angrily. "That was NOT funny!!" I said angrily at him. He stopped laughing long enough to sit up and say to me with a grin, "No, no, you are right. It was HILARIOUS!!!!" Then he fell over laughing again. I hit him with my front paw and said, "Come on, man. We need to get to the clearing. We are EVOLVING today!!!" Then I started jogging away in the direction of the clearing. "Huh? He-Hey!! Wait!" I slowed down a bit so Slash could catch up.
"So you decide on what you are evolving into?" Slash asked me.
"I have. But you are not finding out until we meet up after the evolving trip." The evolving trip is sort of a field trip. Our teacher sends us out after speaking to us about what we need to do to evolve, and then we all do what is necessary to evolve.
"But that takes until tomorrow!!" Slash whined.
"Then you will see tomorrow." I told him.
"Fine." Slash said angrily. He then started pouting.
After a couple minutes of jogging we came to the clearing. It is a circular clearing that is about 25 feet in diameter. "First again." I said.
"Yup. I guess we have to wait again for everyone else." Slash said.
So we decided to sit down in the middle of the clearing and wait. After about 30 seconds, Slash started fidgeting. "OK! That is it! I need to do something Ryun!" He yelled out at me. "Ok. What exactly do you need to do?" I said back somewhat sleepily. "I-I don't know!! Just something!!" He yelled again. "Ok ok. But stop yelling. Do you just need to move or something?" I asked him. "Yeah, yeah!! HEY! How about we battle?!" He yelled out again. "Ok, but can you PLEASE stop yelling." I said, now fully awake from all of his yelling.
We took our positions at opposite ends of the clearing. "Do you wanna start, or can I?" Slash asked me. 'Go first and beat him so hard he cries!!' *Whoa! What was that?! I am probably just hearing things.* I shook my head and focused on what was ahead of me. *WHOA!!* He was already charging at me!!!
I dodged and tried to tackle him from the side while he was recovering from his charge. I ran as fast as I could. I put my head down and closed my eyes so I could hit him without doing too much damage to myself. *Was he this far from me?* Not long after I thought this something hit me from my left. I was knocked onto my side. "Whoa! What happened?" I asked nothing in particular. "I jumped up when you came to tackle me and I hit you when you kept running." Slash answered back while walking to my side. "Well I am not down for the count yet!!" I yelled out while jumping up and pushing him back. While he was stunned I went in for another attack. I felt me head connect with his belly and I heard a mighty big "UMPH!!!" I jumped back and allowed him to get his breath back.
"Well, I think that is enough of this." A slightly high but masculine voice said from behind me.
"AH! Mr. Teach!! We were not fighting! We were just...uh...fighting. But it wasn't a 'fight fight' it was just a..." Slash started yelling out frantically to try to explain to Mr. Teach that we were just having a friendly fight. "It is alright Slash." Mr. Teach said which immediately stopped Slash's frantic yelling. "Me and the whole class saw your battle." Mr. Teach explained to us. "WHAT?!" Me and Slash yelled out at the same time.
Then we saw the rest of the class step out from the shadows of the trees surrounding us. Our friends Mina and Flare ran up to us. "That was an amazing battle you guys!" Flare complimented. "It was not all that great." Mina said under her breath, but saying it loud enough for us to hear. "Yes, well, shall we get on with today?" Mr. Teach said, walking past us.
Mr. Teach is our teacher. Yeah, I know. His name says it all. He is a HootHoot who is practically blind. He is actually very young. In human years, I would say he is about 27. During a battle he had about 10 human years ago a freak accident occurred and he lost most of his eye sight. So he decided that with his vast amount of knowledge gained from roaming to faraway lands he would become a teacher.
Mina is a Meowth. Not much to her other than that. She never wanted to be friends with me and Slash. She did it to stay friends with Flare. Me and Slash figured this out before she even told us herself.
Flare is just...wow. She has been the prettiest thing I have seen since I first laid my eyes on her. She is a cyndiquill. We have been friends since we met. She has never showed a particular interest me. But you know how hard it is with those really playful and peppy types.
"Now settle down children." Mr. Teach called out over the crowd of kids. "Today is the last day of your young school years." "And we are EVOLVING today!!" A random 'mon yelled out. That sent our whole class, including me and my friends, into a frenzy of cheers.
"Okay, okay. Calm DOWN children!!" Mr. Teach yelled out. That sent the whole class into a silent stupor because Mr. Teach has never yelled at us.
"I-I don't know what just came over me." He stammered out. He cleared his throat and moved on. "Yes. Today, you will be evolving. IF you succeed." He said.
*What could he mean? I heard of a test but he makes it sound extra hard.* 'Do not worry little one.' *Wha?* I started looking around for the source of the voice but I heard and saw nothing but my class and Mr. Teach. *I must be really tired. And hungry.*
"So you will have to evolve on your own." I heard Mr. Teach finish up. I leaned over towards Flare. "So how exactly are we going to evolve?" I asked her. "SSSHHHHH" She angrily said back. I held my ears up as a crude representation of the human gesture that says they mean no harm. *Ok. Guess I am gonna have to listen.*
I turned my attention back to Mr. Teach. "To evolve, you are going to have to train your battle instincts. For some of you, you will need to do specific tasks to evolve. I will pick you out and tell you if that is such."
So everyone started to get up and find their friends so they can train together. Me, Slash, Mina, and Flare already knew how we had to evolve. For Slash, Mina, and Flare they had to train their battle skills. I had to do a specific task to evolve. Depending on what I wanted to evolve into.
"Ryun! Come up here I need to speak with you." Mr. Teach called out to me. "Be right back guys!" "Okay!" Flare and Slash yelled back. Mina just rolled her eyes at me.
"Now, Ryun, you have a choice on what you want to evolve into. You can choose by type. There is the fire-type Flareon, the water-type Vaporeon, the grass-type Leafeon, the electric-type Jolteon, the ice-type Glaceon, and the psychic-type Espeon." "Hey wait, isn't there a dark-type one." I asked him. "Ah! Um...yes. There is. It is the dark-type called Umbreon." He answered me, surprised I would ask such a question. "But that is not the best choice. Now, on to how you will evolve in to one of these. Flareon requires a fire stone, Vaporeon requires a water stone, Leafeon requires a leaf stone, Jolteon requires a thunder stone, Glaceon requires you to train your battle skills in the snow, Espeon requires you to train in an open field during the day, and Umbreon requires you to train in the presence of a full moon, which is, unfortunately, tonight." He said "Umbreon" with disgust and "unfortunately" under his breath.
"OK. I got it. Can I go now?" I asked in earnest. I was very eager to go evolve. "Yes, yes. You can go on." He laughed.
I ran back to all my friends. "Hey Ryun, how about you surprise us with what you are going to evolve into?" Slash suggested as I trotted up to them. "Perfect! I was actually going to say the same thing!" "So we wait back here tomorrow for Ryun?" "Yeah!" Flare said enthusiastically. "Sure." Mina said in a bored tone.
*This is going to be the best day of my life!!*

*It will be the best day ever when I stop hearing voices!!*
