The sound of other was my only connection to the ones that I love. There scent of strangers filled the hall from outside the room I was in. I sat in in my chair with my legs cross, and my arms crossed. I stared at the wall with an empty look on my face, and my black lends circle-famed glass.

"So mister jones, how have you been since the incident?" a female's voice said to me with care, and joy in her voice.

"Oh I have been... well." The depression was obvious, I was miserable since that day. My name Edward jones, I am 23 year old bear. I am average bear, brown fur, I am somewhat tall, and a bit chubby, but I am also something else, I am someone without one of god's greatest gifts, the gift of sight. Unlike some of the lucky few that were able to be, warn before it happened, I was not, or could not be warned.

At the time I work in a chemical processing plant, I was assigned to keep chemical's at a certain temperature so that they would not exploded from the heat or become useless because it was too cold.it would seem like a cushy job to some, but you had to be at the top of your game. Unfortunately, I was not the most focus person that day.

I was checking the tempters in the heating room to see if it was high enough, but I was uninformed about the thermometer were broken. I raised the tempters in the room by a few degrees, which began making it insanely hot; my fur stared stinking together, so I stopped to take a breather. Then I heard a small whistling sound, but before I could figure out where it was coming from a bright flash of light, and flame shoot into my eye. The pain was so horrible a fainted from the blast.

When I came to, I was in the hospital, but I could barely see. The doctor told me that I was lucky that I could see anything, the blast damaged my vision suavely, and that my vision would continue to go away. All I could do was weep, I never had to deal with anything like this, and I was never good with adapting to change.

The days past, the days turned into weeks, and then it was a whole month since my incident, and so did my vision. Everything was dark; all I could do was hear the voices of the people around me, the scent of stranger filled my noise, I never really had any friends so I had no one to have my back. Which really could have been useful? A week after I went totally blind I was mugged, they took all my money, and much more. They took my sanity, my feeling of safety, and even my joy.

I was ready to throw it all away, the fear hunted me for so long I could not take it anymore, but before I could, I met her. The lovely, wonderful, and sweetest women, miss Jamey Holt, she was a mental therapies who specials in the blind. She found me just minutes before I would commit suicide. When she spoke to me, her words were like angels of heaven speaking to me. If she had not stopped me that day I would be dead.

"Edward, are you doing ok?" my ears perked up in her direction.

"Fine Jamey, just fine. I smiled, and let are conversation continued.
