Kyle woke up feeling like he'd been hit by a train. "ow,ow...ugh"he said as he atempted to sit up. "Crap!" he yelled as he fell back. Kyle gave up and examined his body, his whole chest was covered in bandages. And his wrist was in a brace. That was all except for a couple minor scratchs and bruises. After a couple of minutes he decided to try to get up again and for some reason he could just barely sit up.
Just then a nurse came in. "Hey your awake. Now how are you feeling?" he just looked at her. She was skinny collie with dark green eyes. "I feel like I was hit by a train." she just nodded and pulled out a cup of eater and a cup with pills "here are some pain pills. Also your parents are here I will let them know you are awake." she said as she walked out of the room. When she came back she was followed by his mom Mellany and his dad Steven. "oh Kyle what happened? are you okay?"
"yeah mom I'm fine just settle down please" his dad came behind her and hugged her trying to calm her down "I'm sorry Kyle it's just I worry about you." Kyle smiled. His parents loved him even after he said he was gay they still loved,even derek didn't care. Oh crap derek he just remembered seeing derek. The nurse interupted his train of thought " please don't move to much you don't want to brake the stitching." Wait what did she just say "stitches?!" Kyle then looked at his chest and realize he had 3 lines of stitches where brandon had cut him.
Kyle stopped and looked at his parent then at the clock it read 1:34. He looked athis parents again. "Where is derek?!" his mom just looked at him and smiled "he fell asleep in the waiting room." kyle looked at the nurse " can you go get him please?" she nodded and walked out. " honey what's wrong?" She asked worrying again. "I just need to talk to him". Before his mom could answer the door opened and Derek walked in looking exhausted but worried at the same time. "Hey derek can we speak alone please" I said so that everyone could hear me. They all left leaveing me and Derek alone.
" so how you feeling " he asked. "What happened with you and Brandon?" I asked. He looked down obiviously feeling bad for what he did. "He won't be bothering you again. I talked to a nurse I broke his collar bone and i messed up his face pretty bad. I'm sor-" he was off by me jumping up and hugging him, tears rolling down my face. He just put his arms around me confused. "thank you, thank you ,thank you. You are the greatest you know that." he just chuckled "Come on, you need to lay down time for you to lay down we don't want pop those stitches now do we." he said I just looked into his eyes and knew I was safe. I layed back and close eye and heard him say "I will see you tommorrow. Good night"
Derek:
Kyle's dad was driving Derek home. "Your a good freind to Kyle you know this right?" Derek just smiled. "Yah I know."I said with a smile on my face. We pulled into my drive way. "Good night Derek sleep well." I waved bye and walked into my house. Derek's parents left the hospital around 11:30. They were in there room sleeping peacefully. Derek walked into his room a layed down and fell asleep.
Derek was dreaming about the day he first meet Kyle. Kyle had just moved in down the street. Derek and Kyle were just 13. Derek was walking to a lake a couple blocks a way when he saw the moveing truck. He walked over to Kyle and tapped his shoulder. Kyle jumped out of his skin droping the box he was carrying. Derek just laughed and picked up the box "jumpy much huh mr.fox". The fox just blushed and grabbed another box. "Don't sneak up on me."
After putting the boxs down the boys looked at each other Derek held out his paw "names derek yours?". The fox just looked at the paw and smiled and grabbed it. "My names kyle nice to meet you." Derek just smiled. "Hey I'm going down to the beach to swim you wanna come?"
"Umm sure let me go tell my parents. I'll right back." when Kyle came back they left for the beach. They had the best day ever. Finally the sun began to set when Derek broke the silence. "So why are you so jumpy" he asked the fox just looked down. " I had to move here because I was always picked on at my old school" derek gave him a concerned look."Why did they do that?" The fox looked away as a tear fell from his eye "Because I'm,I'm,....gay" he said in a sad voice. "I get if you don't want to be my freind any more" he said about to run but a paw grabbed his and pulled him into a hug. The small fox was crying now. "Don't worry no one will hurt you ever again" ever sense that day Derek has been in many fights protecting Kyle.
Derek woke up thinking about kyle. He had to do something. Something to help Kyle and every other LGBT student at the school but what? Urg I'll figure it out he thought and then went back to sleep but this time there was no dream.
The next day was a typical spring Friday , cloudy and depressing. That morning Kyle parents took Derek to the hospital to pick him up once they were in the car derek and Kyle decided to go to dereks place. Actually it has been atleast a year and half sense Derek had been to kyle's place. Kyle's parents were always working so Derek couldn't go over to hang out. Once they said they're good Derek and Kyle went straight to dereks room to play the Xbox 360. After a couple hours of playing Halo, and black ops Kyle had to go and get some rest and Derek needed to get ready for school. 'crap!' he thought. What do I do about school?
Derek grabbed his laptop went to google and typed in "how to make a school less homophobic?" just then his mom came in and said "you did not sleep well last night and I don't need you napping all day tommorrow. Now off your laptop and go to bed. "Night mom" Derek said as she walked out.
Kyle:
Kyle walked into his room layed down and looked at his wrist he got beat down on halo because this messed up wrist of his. He looked at his stitches they were mostly healed. As he was admireing his wounds the glare of something on top of his dresser caught his eye. It was a picture of Derek and Kyle at kyle's 14th birthday kyle's parents bought him and derek season passes. The photo reminded him of some of his best memories. Derek was a great freind.
After putting the picture down Kyle looked around the room. It was almost as big as derek's. But he had black carpeting with white walls. He had 2 book shelves, a computer,tv,a walk in closet,and a bed. Kyle lay back down on the bed. Kyle closed his and let out a deep breathe. Then something hit him he still forgot what the favor he needed to ask Derek for. Great another thing to worry about. Well at least tommorrow is a Saturday. Maybe Derek can come over. Think about it Kyle just relized that it's been at least a year sense dereks been here. That is so weird.
Kyle got out of bed and decided to check his email. As soon as he signed in he saw he had 20 new messages 8 of it was junk mail but the other 12 were from freinds at school. All asking him questoins like 'what happened?','are you ok?',blah blah blah. Kyle hated when people kepted asking the same questions. So he simply just typed two answers and copy and pasted them on the ones like 'what happened?' and 'are you ok?'. Once that was done he decide to go eat some dinner.
Kyle walked out into his liveing room where he saw his mom snuggleing up up with his dad. He walked into the kitchen and started going through the cabnets looking for food. As Kyle started going through the fridge he was greeted by his mom. "Here are some pain pills. Take one at night and one in the morning got it.?" mellany said looking at him, giveing him 'I'm serious' look he nodded. "Good now me and your father are going to bed don't stay up to late and get plenty of rest. I will see you in the morning."
Kyle decided to make a tv dinner and go to bed. After takeing his pill, he brushed his teeth and went to bed. Kyle fell asleep instantly as his head hit the pillow.
The next morning Kyle woke up not remembering the dream he had last night. He got up and was about to walk to the bathroom when he remembered he slept naked. Kyle slipped on some a black pair if basketball shorts and put his signiture hoodie on. Even though it was spring it was still freezying in the morning. Kyle walked out of his room to be embraced in the pleasent smell of bacon 'nom' he thought. Kyle walked out to living room witch had an 'L' shaped couch with love seat beside it surounding the the tv.
Kyle laid down on the couch. His mom walked in and noticed him watching tv. "Morning honey, you sleep well?" she said as she placed food on the table. "I slept well, you want me to go wake up dad?". After setting down a a plate full of pancakes she looked over at the young wolf "Yes that would be greatly appreciated". With that kyle left to go wake up his father. Kyle looked at a wall clock it was only about 9:30. Urg his father is not a morning person. Other than that kyle's father was a great guy. Kyle walked into his dads room and started to shake him.
Steven started to wake up then hey throw his hand in the direction of Kyle but he missed. "ughhh...wha......what do you want?" he said with his face pushed into the pillow. "time for breakfast. So get up!". Kyle said pushing his father back and forth. Finally he sat up and began his routine streching. Kyle walked out and sat next to his mother then followed by his father joining them. All he could think was "food!"
Derek:
Derek woke up in a cold sweat he couldn't remember his dream but he know it wasn't one he wants to remember. He walked out to the kitchen and saw the coffie was already made that meant that his father had to work. Well at least there was one good side to his dad working derek pourd a cup of coffee for himself. He walked back into his room and turned on to tv. He placed the cup of coffee on the small side table beside his bed. He opened the drawer on it on it.
He pulled out some a pair of glasses and grabbed a book he resantyly got from the library. He had just started reading it when his phone began to vibrate on the head of his bed, it was a text from kyle.
'hey you want to come over later :P' it said
'how about right now' he replayed
'sure my parents are home but I think I need to give you a tour agian don't I? lol'
'yah it's been atleast a yar sence I've been there I think'
'lol nice, well I guess I wil see you when you get here'
'k bye' With that derek got up and slipped on a pair of jeans over his boxers put on a plack polo and wrote a note for his mom keying her know he was at kyle's house.
Derek finally arrived at the front steps of kyle's house. He reached forward and knocked on the door. With in seconds Kyle was opening the door. "Hey man. Happy Saturday!"
"your happy for a guy with stitches in his chest." Kyle just stuck out his tounge and motioned him to come in. "so what do you want to do?" he asked "Well how about that tour?"
kyle's house was layed out like this, as soon as you open the door you can either go up stairs or down stairs. First we went up stairs over to the right was the living room, ahead was the kitchen,and next to that there was the dnning room. To the left was a hallway. The first door to the left was the bathroom,across from the bathroom was kyle's parents room, and at the end of the hall was kyle's room. After checking out kyle's room they went down stairs. The basement was a storage/game room. One area of the room was filled with boxs whilt the rest of the basement had a pool table, couch, and a tv. And on a washingachine and a drier.
After the tour Kyle jumped on the couch. "so what do you want to do first?". Derek couldn't resist looking over at the pool table. "pool?"
"Haha I hope you don't mind looseing."
"Screw you. But actaully could you go easy maybe?". After three rounds of pool (none of witch derek won), the boys decided to watch some tv. "Why is there nothing good on tv any more?" Kyle said irritated that he couldn't find anything to watch. After a couple of seconds they finally found something to watch. "seriously oprah"
"what? she is very inspirational!"
"I'm just saying."
"fine." and with that Kyle began to channel surf again. When he finally stopped derek just looked at Kyle. Just then the tv annoucer shouted "today on Dr. Phil......."
"Give me the remote kyle. Now!"
