this chapter and the fourth one were going to be combined, but i decided against it. This all happens after Rimmy is arrested on false pretenses.

"Allright everyone, here's the deal," Karma told the class. "Criminal investigation, forensics, and profiling is not as fun as it sounds. We have discussed this in lecture, but today, I thought we should try some application."

The class consisted of quite a few foxes, some bloodhounds, terriers, a squirrel, a young eagle, 2 wolves, 4 lions, and a marbled bengal. They all looked surprised at this news. They had been wondering when Karma would start the practical application part of the course. All the other students talked about how great it was. Karma grabbed some mesh sport jersey's, green and orange ones. She randomly gave them out, so there was no bias decision.

"Green symbolizes justice, the orange symbolizes criminals. The southern football field is open for our use. It has been set up to look like our nearby city. Criminals will go first and create a crime. I know you guys have been studying hard, so surprise us," Karma explained.

The orange jersey's left the room.

"Now, the rest of you, remember, patterns. Hundreds of years ago, when humans first began their experiments, a creature like us was created. Although he was different, where he was more like a monster than animal or human. Humans didn't have what we have. They didn't have great sense of smell, hearing, taste, they had no wings, paws, talons, or claws. That's when this monster came into existance. The bio-code for a human was mixed with the bio-code of a wolf; one of the greatest hunters. This monster was what humans called a 'werewolf'. Now as you all know, the old werewolf legends were complete garbage. This creature was the first of these legendary creatures to come into existance, almost. Who can explain why this is? What was a werewolf originally considered to be?"

Every hand went into the air. Karma smiled, this was the first class she had where every student present had an answer.

"Kim?" she pointed to a young lioness.

Kim had very light creamy colored fur and the tail fur was an orangish red. Had she been a male, she would have been a red head. There was a small patch of brown fur on her nose, and she had striking green eyes.

"A werewolf is a mythological or folkloric human with the ability to shapeshift into a wolf or an anthropomorphic wolf-like creature either by being bitten by another werewolf, or after being placed under a curse. Their transformation was often associated with the appearance of the full moon. Werewolves were also often attributed superhuman strength and senses, far beyond those of both wolves and men. People used to see werewolves as creatures to be feared, and believed that they could kill them with silver bullets, or silver anything really," she looked pleased with herself.

"But why," Karma smiled, and continued her question. " would the creature they created not be considered a werewolf? Why was he a monster? And what does he have to do with us and our subject?"

"Well, the thing they made couldn't transform at all, he was created to be only that creature, and he didn't have any super strength or anything, although he did have his wolf senses, but those were not heightened either. Also, a silver bullet would kill anybody. I mean it's a bullet, that would kill or wound anyone. But they even did tests, and there are records that they put pure silver candlesticks on him and he wasn't hurt. And as for what he has to do with us, he's the reason we all exist today. When he was created, he was planted with the seeds of every animal in the world, and test subjects were brought it for him, and unlike a wolf, he mated with every single one of those test subjects, who eventually gave birth to our ancestors. And it continued, inbreeding started due to the man-wolf being the only thing that could create our kinds. And all of the children were forced to breed and produce children, but by that time, other children had been created as well for them to mate with, instead of mating with their brothers and sisters, they went to cousins." "But what does this have to do with this class, Kim?" "well it's all about DNA, right? Since we all have different genetic codes, but we are all still related to him. It's different for us than it was with the humans, I mean they had thousands of years to multiply. We've only had a few hundred years, we can still use our genes and chromosomes, and locate our ancestors all the way up to the man-wolf. Even the birds and the fish. We have to be careful in forensics as far as print matching, and blood testing, because our genetic codes are too close together. A lion, for example could commit a crime, and we might accidentally acuse and arrest a rabbit."

"Excellent. So remember everyone, when we go out there shortly, check for scent, foot prints, anything that will-" she was cut off by her phone ringing.

"excuse me students, one moment. Hello?" she asked when she picked up the phone.

"Karma, will you please come into my office? I need to discuss something with you. I will send a substitute to your class."

"of course, Victoria."

She put the phone back, and turned to her class, excusing herself and left a note for the substitute, a male wolf named Laroc. She walked down the long hallway to Victoria's office, and read the plaque on the door. It read "Dean Victoria Mouser". She couldn't help but chuckle. Victoria was the only professor she knew who truly deserved the title of Dean. She opened the door and found her cat friend sitting behind the office.

Victoria was a Maine Coon, and she was brownish to black in color. Her large oval eyes were silver, and she had a pink nose, and a very bushy tail. She was shorter than Karma, and abit plump from all of that fur.

"Hey Victoria, congrats on the new position. Lots of work, I'll bet?" Karma asked with a smile. "Oh of course," Victoria laughed. "But I'm happy about it." "Well, you truly deserved this position. I know you will do well. What was it you wished to discuss?"

At that moment, the door re-opened, and leopard poked his head in.

"Vicky, I just wanted to- Oh! Hello Karma, I didn't realize you were in here!" he said in surprise. "Leopold," Victoria growled at being called "Vicky". "I will speak with you in a moment. Please leave us."

After he had done so, Victoria motioned for Karma to sit down.

"Karma.... Mr. Quigly Blythe called. Do you know him?" "Of course. He's Rimmy's boss. Has something happened?" "Well...sorta. Rimmy was daydreaming at work, after completing his work, and a young queen approached him, and tried to seduce him, and he called her a whore." "What? He did?" she said in surprise. "Yes. Blythe called Rimmy into his office, and it would seem that Rimmy has been given a new position. He is being moved to their Corporate office. He advised that Rimmy take it, and he must have known that Rimmy would speak to you about it tonight, but he thought you should be given a heads up, and I agree. Karma, hun, you do know where this place is, right?" "of course...Minnesota." "Yes. You would have to move. But before you do that...take this."

Victoria gave Karma an envelope with a large check.

"what is this?" "It's Rimmy's bail money." "BAIL MONEY??? WHAT DO YOU MEAN?! HE'S IN JAIL?" "Karma, calm down please! Yes, while Rimmy was in Blythe's office, the other office members raped and killed the young queen. And her scent was all over his desk. The police have evidence that he never touched her, but they had to take him in, and the officers are being dick wads, so you have to pay the bail. But I thought I should do it. Consider it a gift, for all the help the two of you have given me. You will also receive your final check from us. Karma, hunny, you'll be fine. Everyone here loves you, and we'll always be here for you."
