"So the lab says, sorry, love to hump things!"

The table burst into laughter as Ciyter sits down with his lunch tray. "What's the joke?"

One of his friend starts to repeat it but then stops realizing he's butchered it, "Sorry, kinda a onetime thing."

Ciyter dismisses it and they start talking about the swim meet that's the next day school.

"So Ciyter, you got that backstroke ready?"

He nods, "Yup, ready to break the record...my record."

Ciyter was the king at swimming, he had led the team to state champions twice already. All of his friends patted his back. He laughs with them, but out of the corner of his eye he sees Ket sitting down, isolated and out of the way. For some reason he wants to go talk to him.

"Ciyter? What's wrong?"

The wolf looks back at his friends, "What, I'm fine."

"No, I mean you're looking over at Ket over there."

He shrugs, "Yeah, so. What's the big deal, he's my science partner."

They all smiled and looked at each other, "he doesn't know."

Ciyter growled at them, "What don't I know!"

All of them snickered, "That fox over there...he's gay. Was outted last year, I'm surprised you haven't heard about it."

Ciyter suddenly lowers his voice to a whisper, even though he couldn't have possibly heard them over the roar of the lunch crowd.

"He's gay?"

They all nodded in unison, "yup, one hundred percent."

"But I still have him as a science partner."

His friends all look at each other, "Just don't get too close to him. Don't want you turning gay on us."

Another one spoke, "yeah, could you imagine. Ciyter and Ket, sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G."

Ciyter growled at him, "It's not gonna turn to that!"

The bell rang for sixth period, science class, one of his friends turns to him. "You'd better not."

"Wow, Ket, you did this all last night? That's like as much work as I could do in a week."

Ciyter is completely amazed by Ket's work, he replies with a shrug. "I already knew a lot about Jupiter and it's moons so with this info all we have to do is put it in the powerpoint."

"Hold on, need to go grab something out of my back pack."

Ciyter watches the fox go and get what he need. He bends down raising his tail showing his ass to him. A shiver shot down his spine and a sudden heat wave hits him. The wolf stood in the same spot as Ket returned.

"Are you ok?"

Ciyter shook out of his daze, "Yeah, sorry."

Once the bell rang Ciyter ran to his car and slammed the door shut locking them. What just happened? He stood shaking as he breathed. Could it be? Nah can't be. No it isn't. In front of his car some sexy she-wolves walked by, he followed their curves and breathed a sigh of relief, still hot he told himself. "Still hot."

Still in his relief he starts his car and starts the drive home. He smiled reassuring himself that it was nothing. He drives slow in the freshly fallen snow and in front of him a figure is walking on the sidewalk. It's Ket, once again walking home in the cold. The heat hits Ciyter once again and he speeds off leaving Ket behind. He pulls up in front of his house taking deep breaths, what was happening?

Ket quietly walks though his house, careful not to disturb Kita or she'll ask him how is day went. He tip-toes up stars, throws his backpack to one side of his room and stands in front of his dresser. His paws resting on the top drawer. He opens it, it's empty except for two tickets. They are tickets to a baseball game long since passed, and they are unused. His mind brings him back to when he was ten and his dad came home with them. Promising in two weeks that they'll go and he'll get to go to his first baseball game. He never went. Just one week later, his dad's plane went down. He remembered when the police came to the door, mom just collapsed.

He had saved the tickets as a reminder to his dad, as a living memory. Carefully holding them he sits on the edge of his bed staring at the snow falling outside wanting to feel the touch of someone. Wanting someone to finally know. Wanting love.

Ciyter watches his ceiling warp in the absence of light. He was always interested in how darkness plays tricks on your eyes when there isn't enough light. The clock next to him reads 12:34 and somehow he still isn't asleep, something is keeping him awake. Some type of apprehension, all he felt was a feeling of butterflies in his stomach. It was almost making him sick. But what was causing it? The swim meet? No, he's gotten over those nerves a long time ago. He rolls over and forces his eyes shut. Under them he sees Ket, and Ket only. For a second he reaches down and starts playing with himself to the image. But only after a few seconds he retracts his arm cursing at himself, what was he doing? That was his classmate, and a male! He throws back the covers and makes his way down the stairs to the kitchen. Blackness covers it like a blanket, but the light doesn't come one. Ciyter makes his way to turn on the faucet, cool water runs through his paws.

"What's happening to me?"

He pulls down a glass and fills it to the brim. He takes one sip, the cold liquid wets his dry muzzle and runs down his throat. He finishes the rest in one gulp and makes his way back to his bed to try and get at least a little bit of sleep.

Ket reads some of his notes while typing on the computer, beside him sat Ciyter much more reserved than usual. He couldn't help but notice the wolf hasn't actually said anything at all. After making some quick glances, Ket can't help but come out of his shell.

"Ciyter?"

The wolf jumped at his name, "Wha?"

"What's wrong with you? You haven't talked all day."

He didn't want to be honest with Ket, he didn't know what to think. The only thing that stuck in his mind was those images of Ket from last night. He thought of something quick.

"Oh, it's just my dad. He...he's just pushing me that's all."

Ket took the answer and ended the conversation to continue filling out the powerpoint. Ciyter sat there in silence.

The door to the classroom opened and a messenger from the office came in and told Mrs. Granker something. She nodded and looked up at Ket and Ciyter's work station.

"Ciyter come up here please." He glanced up from his paws, "yeah."

He hopped off the stool and made his way to the teachers desk where Ket watched her tell him something. He came back without any change in his emotion.

"What was that?"

The wolf sighed, "Just our swim meet. It's been moved up to three because of the snow." Ket let his eyes drift to the ground and he slowly nodded. "Ok." They worked in silence for the rest of the period.

When the bell finally came to rescue Ket had already finished up the project. He said goodbye to Ciyter and grabbed his things to leave for home. Only he didn't go home, the white fox waited until Ciyter left the classroom and followed him to the pool. It was housed in a separate building from the rest of the school, Ciyter went around back to the locker rooms and Ket found a seat in the back bleachers hopefully out of sight of the wolf.

The swim meet was long, and not something Ket was accustomed to. He sat lonely waiting for Ciyter to make his swim. When he finally stepped onto the board Ket smiled inside, he waited to see this. With a pop of the start gun the wolf dove as fast as he could into the clear water and already with the dive he was ahead of his competition. By the time he got the other end of the half-Olympic size pool the other contenders were only half-way. Ciyter then went into his famous back stroke and blazed down the lane beating his old record. When he got out of the pool furs were already crowding him and congratulating him on a job well done. Bringing the team to the state championships once again. Ket smiled, he was happy for him. But he didn't want to be seen, under the cover of the crowed he dipped out and started his walk home.

Ciyter shook paws with all of his teammates and posed for a picture. Then waving goodbye to the loosing schools they headed back to the locker room. Ciyter took a towel and started to dry himself off.

"Oh, gonna be a hell of a time to get home. With it so cold huh?"

The others did the same, but looked at Ciyter with drilling eyes.

"What's wrong guys?"

One of them stepped forward, "We saw one certain white fox in the crowd today."

The blood rushed to Ciyters face, Ket had come? Why? What did he want?

"Did you invite him?"

Ciyter shook his head, "of course not. Do you think I would want a queer like that to messy up one of the seats?"

His friends shrugged. "I don't know, you're the one who's hanging out with him."

Ciyter pulled down his swimsuit, "Am not, he's my partner in science. I can't avoid something like that!"

The other members pulled their wet swimsuits down too.

"Just as long as you're not turning gay."

Ciyter had just about had enough, he growled at them. Put on his pants and walked out the door without even putting on his shoes.

When he got to his car he got in and quickly tied his shoes up, not exactly the smartest idea. Walking barepaw in the snow but he had to get out of there. Something wasn't right, as he watched his own teammates get undressed he got aroused. A couple more seconds in there and it would have been more then obvious. He turned the ignition, put the heat on full blast and made his way home. Again he saw Ket walking home. His teammates were right, Ket had stayed to watch. But why? He couldn't let the fox walk home in the freezing weather. The wolf pulled up to the curb and rolled down the passenger side window right beside Ket, who just froze.

"Hey Ket. It's kinda cold. Want a ride home instead of walking?"

The fox at first instinctively reached out for the door handle but pulled back and bit his lip.

"Come on, you'll get home sooner. It's not like I'm going to kitnap you or something."

Then, with hesitation, Ket opened the door and climbed inside of the warm car.

"See! Not so hard! Now which way to your house?"

Ket mumbled just loud enough for Ciyter to hear the directions.

"14356 Adler street! That's like a ten minute drive from the school! And you walk it, every day!"

Ket just nodded adding under his breath he hates busses. Ciyter turned down the radio hoping to strike up some conversation but nothing came to mind. The stuff that did seemed stupid and made him feel to nosey, so they just sat there in quiet until Kets house came into view. He pointed to it, Ciyter pulled up.

"nice house."

Ket nodded and got out and started walking toward the door. Ciyter almost drove off but a knock at the window prevented him. Ket had come back, he rolled it down.

"Hey, thanks. It was nice to have a ride. You swam well today."

With those simple words he walked up the door, waved, and went in. Ciyter lifted his paw in return, the feeling was back, a warmth all around him and the feeling of a pit in this stomach. He drove off.

Parking in front of his house, he lazily walks up to the house and opens the door to find his dad once again waiting for him.

"Where have you been!"

Ciyter shrinks down, "they moved our swim meet."

Gyld rolled his eyes, "Yeah, like that one will work."

Ciyter begged in his defense. "No really! Because of the snow and the busses they moved the meet to three instead of five. I just found out about it in sixth period myself. But I did break my record."

For the time being Gyld didn't care, he was too involved in what he was saying.

"Ok, let's say you did have that meet, where did you go after? It doesn't take a half hour to get home from school."

The wolf shrugged, "I don't know. I hit all red lights."

Gyld growled and stepped forward. "There is only one red light between here and the school."

"Then I stayed after and helped pick up too!" He turned and marched up stairs to the refuge of his room.

"Well you're grounded for the day! Go to your room!"

Ciyter yelled back. "I already am!"

He plopped down into his computer chair and let out a quiet howl, why couldn't his dad just leave his life alone.

"I know what'll fix this." He said to himself. "A little furbook venting."

He turned on the computer and went straight to the internet to start his rant, but when he got there he noticed he had a friend request. The mouse rolled over it, it was Ket. For some reason Ciyter's tail lifted and started to wag and he immediately clicked accept.

"Lets see what you have on your file."

His eyes scanned through Ket's personal file and one line stood out above all others.

"Looking for a relationship...Interested in males."

Like a spear the feeling hit him once again, in the heart. He finally knew what it was, or he was just playing dumb with himself, he was in love with Ket.
