Pretty much an autobiography but with my anthropomorphic alter ego (fursona) instead of me, let me know what you think and if i should keep writing it, or be honest and say it sucks and i should never attempt at writing stories again.

some of you might say "this is not M/M"... well, not yet, this is just character development at this point.

Chapter 1

Awake

Link was sitting at the end of his bed, his room nearly completely dark yet his yellow wolf eyes let him see clearly. Looking around he saw his computer on his desk next to the window. An alarm clock lay beside the computer, the lights showing 6:00, half an hour before the alarm was set to go off. He got up and shut off the alarm part of the clock. What's the point of having another thing scream at you when you're already awake?

One more sleepless night, his third this week. The dark circles around his eyes and the lack of energy made him appear to be a walking zombie. He went downstairs to the coffee pot and poured himself a cup. After chugging the cold day-old strong coffee he felt much more awake although still dreading the school day ahead of him.

As Link drank his second cup, he went over to the couch in the living room and sat down. He thought about school, his family, his friends, how everything was good in his life. He had a nice home, loving parents, a nice reliable SUV, and a girlfriend. Her name was Alexa, a brown wolf on the cheerleading squad at school, whom Link had been dating for two months. No matter how much he thought about the good, the reason he stayed awake at nights took his mind, something wasn't right.

On the outside Link seemed like a normal high school kid. He was average height at 5 foot 10 inches; he was well built at the weight of 130. His fur was grey as were the majority of the students at his high school. His tail was two and a half feet in length with long black hair; he had a white stripe on his chest that stretched from the top of his sternum down to where the sun doesn't shine. His left ear had a small part of the tip missing. He was an average student getting mostly As and Bs.

On the inside, however, a battle raged; a battle that no one could help him with; a battle he himself didn't understand. He knew something was wrong or missing in his life, but didn't know what. He was angry at everything and everyone, he was depressed with himself, he was confused with his future and upcoming college. He was stressed being in 2 sports, having a job, and keeping his grades up in his AP classes. He had everything he wanted, a job, a top-of-the-line computer, a girlfriend, a place to call home, so why was he angry?

He up from the couch and walked up the stairs to the bathroom where he turned on the water to the shower. After waiting for the water to heat up, he took off his clothes and stepped in letting the warm water run through his fur and onto his skin.

Link liked the water; it made him think of rain and rainy days. He loved going out in the rain just to sit and admire the beauty of the weather. The dark grey skies were depressing matching his feelings, the lighting and thunder was powerful and loud matching his anger and frustration, the rain was cool and calm as it dripped from the clouds showing that even in dark miserable chaos, peace can exist. His life was the storm.

He shut off the water and grabbed a towel from the rack next to the shower. He dried off the best he could before stepping onto the frigid tile floor of the bathroom. From there he went into his room and shut the door. After a few minutes of searching he found his phone and checked his messages. The phone read "4 New Messages" three of them were from work wanting to know if he could work that night. The last one was a surprise, it was from a person who never texts him in the mornings unless something bad happened, it was from his girlfriend, Alexa. Opening it he started to read,

"g'mornin just txtin 2 c if ur awake. when u get this msg plz txt me back k thx"

From Alexa at 6:13 a.m.

Link looked at the clock, it read 6:32, and he started to reply,

"Good Morning Alexa, I just got your text, is everything ok?"

He hit the send button and waited 15 minutes hoping to get a reply. It didn't come. He put the phone down on the end of his bed and turned on his computer. He went to his email account, "37 New Messages". going down the line he marked the majority of them as spam. Ever since he put his email address on his Facebook page, he had been getting a lot of trash emails. After deleting 35 messages, he got to the 2 messages that mattered, one saying he had a new comment on his YouTube video which he ignored, and the other from Facebook linking to Alexa's page. He clicked the blue line of text. The page appears.

"Alexa is now single"

Link stared at the monitor in disbelief. He questioned himself, what went wrong? Why did this happen? Who was to blame?

Link was not too surprised that it had ended, their relationship was never strong. After two months of dating they had never done anything other than hold hands. There was a silent awkwardness between him and Alexa. Their communication with each other sucked and Link found himself questioning why they went out in the first place. Whenever Alexa would pass him in the hallway she seemed to go out of the way to avoid him, putting on a faint fake smile as she passed. It was almost like she was ashamed to be seen with Link, this frustrated him.

Alexa was Link's first girlfriend in his life. He liked being able to say that he had a girlfriend, even if it was not a serious relationship. Throughout his life Link had never wanted a girlfriend; he saw relationships as being a waste of time and money. He was constantly being made fun of, people thought him weird as the geek who builds robots and creates webpages for fun... The kid with no life and few friends.

He was not outgoing and stayed to himself, walking a sad, depressing lonely road. He didn't mind being alone most of the time. He would just sit in his room playing games on his computer, killing orcs and goblins and weird alien creatures to vent his anger and frustration.

Link drove to school that morning with the radio off. All he wanted was time to think. The sky was dark, overcast, and the wind was nonexistent, the "calm before the storm". He tried to figure out why he was not sleeping at nights, and did not yet know his life was just beginning it's downward spiral to hell.
