#7 of Star Hopper

This is a furry book I've been writing for the past two years and it's finally finished. This is chapter 7 of 17, (and it's very short) and once all of them are uploaded it will be avalible to buy on lulu.com for around 7 or 8 usd. Also, I've had to edit this myself so don't expect perfection, just look past the typos and enjoy to book!

"Bot, we're about to drop below into the danger zone, remember light and fast!" Ian called back from his cockpit. "Oh I got this!" Bot replied. He brought his little ship down outside of the perimeter in the forest just beyond the base. "Let's go get some cores." He checked his plasma pistol, the core was full and ready, he opened the hull door and jumped into the brush before it fully touched the ground, Bot followed closely behind. Both of them reached the perimeter, "Bot what are we up against?"

The little robot dashed to some supply crates covered in tarps, he checked around and then stomped his metal paw three times signaling everything was clear. Ian followed his partner's steps. Looking above the crate Ian counted the guards, "one, two...eight, nine, ten, eleven. Eleven guards, fairly simple." His crafty eyes scanned some more and saw a unstable plasma discharge crate. "Perfect."

Like a true marksman, Ian pulled his pistol and shot at the crate, it burst in a gigantic green explosion. All the guards jumped and ran to see what was going on. Ian snuck right through without any trouble. "Bot locate the plasma depot, should be around here somewhere."

The duo stood in a compound, as much out of sight as possible of course. A small whine from Bots eyes sounded, "Ian, on the other side of this compound, it's not far."

"Good!"

With stealth on their side Ian and Bot navigated the hallways and rooms, sneaking past guards and other higher ups. "We're almost there," Bot said, "Just at the end of this hallway, see that big vault." A steel door marked the depot, "gotcha!" Ian ran up to it and knocked at it a couple of times with his ear against the cold steel, "only a half inch, sometimes I wonder if they want me to succeed."

The fox took his plasma pistol and aimed it at the middle left of the door, and with a slight squeeze of the trigger a small, slow plasma bolt shot out and dug its way through. After a couple of well placed shots a hole about as big as a fist ran through the entire door. Ian reached inside, "that's big enough, Bot, you're up."

From the ground Bot hopped up and inched his way through the hole, "Hurry up, I don't want to be seen!"

"Oh don't worry Ian, you know how long I've been doing this."

Ian chuckled, "yeah, only about 3 months." The robot took that as offensive, "well I was programmed with it then."

The blue glow of his eyes reflected off of the door as he studied it, "Ah a Hidner 3600, we meet again!" His paw soon found the one weakness in the door, a small hole containing the locking mechanism and with a quick blast of his blow torch he melted the inside, melting the lock and opening the door. "Lets hurry up Ian," he said opining the door from the inside. But to his surprise he saw Ian pointing his pistol at a civilian. "Ian what's up? Lets grab a couple of these and get out of here!" The room size safe was filled with plasma cores, large and small. But for some reason he was captivated by this female. Bot looked around Ian to find that she also had a plasma pistol. "Leave this civilian, and lets go, forget the cores we can't have you standing with your gun drawn like that!"

He chuckled, "that's no civilian, she's an officer. Only officers carry a pistol like that, but what do you plan to do with it, shoot me?" He could see her paws shaking, she didn't have the capacity to do it, she must have been directly out of the academy.

"Come on Bot, we're leaving."

"Finally," he bounded after the fleeing fox, but a green plasma bolt skimmed his ear and in pure instinct Ian turned around and shot one bolt. Which found itself digging into the chest of the young officer, it exited and continued toward the open plasma depot.

"OH, man! We'd better get out of here!" The bolt hit the plasma and ignited it sending out a crescendo of green flame followed by an explosion. Bot ran ahead,

"Ian get over here! We have to go, this place is going to blow!"

Ian knelt over the struggling fox, her muzzle lay open with blood filling it. Her arms and legs squirmed as she fought the pain and suffocation that her own blood presented. Ian couldn't take it, he placed his two arms under the girl and lifted her. He raced after Bot towards the ship while behind them the base began to explode in green and blue explosions.

Racing through the courtyard Trent saw a glance of a fur running down a hall with his love in his arms. His heart pumped and his legs flew to meet them but they'd passed although the unique fur pattern matched somebody he knew remarkably. He dashed after the fox but before he could reach him the building collapsed and a giant piece of the roof fell on top of him burring him in the rubble.

By the time he awoke he found himself in a hospital bed with a cast on his right arm and both of his legs with a long gash down his face. He pulled a nurse from helping a patient beside him and yelled at her, "Did you find anyone named Kilda Relteck? Did you!"

The nurse touched her data pad it brought up the casualty list where she found the name, "Yes, one Kilda Relteck. Fox, officer first class."

"Yes that's her."

"Dead, shot through the heart with a plasma burst. She was found by the base perimeter."

Trent fell back onto the bed, "she's d...dead!" With a blank expression on his face he fell back into his coma.
