Bad Karma Chapter 2

There are always trials in love. Some say that marriage is the only war where you sleep with the enemy, but I believe that marriage is simply two allies coming together to fight a main cause...for most couples, married or not, regardless of sexual orientation of the two, in laws are the main cause. However, in this chapter, Karma and Rimmy have to fight an enemy from Karma's past, an old friend gone bad, and it is, in fact, herself. (this chapter is only adult due to language. I know there are some people out there who are iffy about crude language, so I thought I may as well put up the warning. No sex in this chapter though.)

Karma took a deep breath. She opened her eyes and looked down at her chest. Her nipples were swollen from the night before. The rings weren't uncomfortable as she had imagined they would be, but she also had not anticipated the soreness of her nipples, which had already been extremely sensitive before they were pierced. She could hear that Rimmy was still in bed. Her waist felt numb. She strained her neck to see past her breasts and found his arm still around her. For the first time in 5 years, he had held her all night. Heat or not, he had never done so before. He generally would push her off the bed at some point because of her sleep fidgeting. She attempted to get out of bed, and felt him pull her very close to stop her from leaving. He turned her around to face him, and pulled her into his chest. She lifted her head so her muzzle was nestled under his chin. He was just waking up, but not yet willing to open his eyes. She smiled, and licked his cheek, making him smile, and slowly open his eyelids, looking into her big green eyes.

"hey...you..." he said groggily. "Want me to make coffee?" Karma asked. "nahhhh" he said pulling her even tighter. He yawned as she wrapped her arms around him and rubbed his back, scratching with one hand, massaging with the other. She could feel the sheets move as he wagged his tail. She wagged hers in unison, completely at peace and content of being with him.

"okay, go make coffee" he said stupidly, giving her a big wet kiss. She laughed but pretended to be repulsed by his dog breath. He released her and she rolled over and sat up for a moment. She yawned, and as she got to her feet, she felt two arms wrap around her and pull her down, making her gasp for air but she laughed as Rimmy tickled her sides, making her flail her arms and legs wildly, unable to stop laughing. Her sides began to hurt, and she started to cry from being tickled so much.

"s-s-stop! haha, rimmy, come on, please" was almost too hard to say, but she managed. But he did not stop. This made her angry. She snarled and shoved him away. She stood, completely naked, and walked out to the kitchen. Rimmy just could not figure it out. She had always been like this. Karma was in fact bipolar, possibly manic depressive, but between therapy, medication, working out, and her students, she had not harmed herself or truly snapped at anyone for a long time. Or had he just not been paying attention? When they first met, she was a piece of work, but he fought for her the whole time. Once she had almost killed herself after a fight. She had tried to bash her brains out on a cement wall, saying that it was the only way, that the only way Rimmy would be truly happy was if she was dead. He had rushed her to a hospital, where the doctors told them that she might die from 3 milimeters of blood on the side of her brain that she had not even hit, at least not on the wall. She had survived though, with a minor concussion and hemmorage, there really wasn't anything wrong. Other than the simple fact that a supressed part of her was hidden away, finally emerging, trying to kill her for not allowing it to thrive and feed her lies. He had never believed that this part of her existed. It couldn't exist. It just didn't make sense.

Karma just sat at the little table waiting for the coffee to finish.

'You didn't tell him' said a voice in her head. "He doesn't believe that you exist," she whispered. "He thinks i'm faking it." 'Look you stupid bitch, I refuse to let him hurt you like that' "He wasn't hurting me. He was tickling me, we were laughing, I enjoyed it. Why do you ruin everything?" 'You are wrong. You have always been wrong. He doesn't love you. He loves her. He's in love with her. You are his back up' "And you've heard him as well as I have. She didn't want him, she doesn't care about him. I do." 'You actually believe that?' "Of course i do. They don't talk" 'How would you know?' "well, i know they must talk sometimes, but its not like they are doing anything. They can't anyway, she's on the other side of the country. Now please be quiet. You've already done enough damage."

"who are you talking to?"

Karma turned around to see Rimmy standing behind her. "myself." she said quickly and harshly. "Is this your little 'it' again?" "What does it matter? You take it like a joke. I've stayed quiet, so it wont matter anyway" "Look, i know you're doing it on purpose" "believe what you want. I'm tired of trying to convince you."

She began to rub her belly. There was so much Rimmy didn't know. He used to talk about kits and puppies. But once, years ago, she had asked him to stop talking about having children. He didn't know why, but when they had first mated, they were both stuck in a dream where there would be kids, a house, everything they could ever want. But after the euphoria had passed, Karma remembered that dogs and foxes could not have offspring due to a difference in chromosomes. After 5 years, she yearned to have kits, but it just was not possible, at least not with their income. Rimmy had no idea that they would never have children.

He also did not have any idea of what exactly this thing was. When she was just a kit, she had no friends. Her strange coloring made other children wary of her, and their parents, and even her teachers were the same. No one really wanted to be around her except for about 4 people. But even then, she had no friends. None that stood by her side for all time, anyway. She had created an imaginary friend. She had named her Casey, after a girl she met in preschool. Casey was strong. Casey didn't have ADD, Casey wasn't a crybaby, and Casey was by no means ugly. If Casey TRULY existed, she could get whatever man she wanted simply because she was pretty. But at the first sign of trouble, when a real friend had finally come to her, Karma had finally convinced her parents that she hated the school she went to, and they finally gave in to her transferring. That was 5th grade. Casey existed since kindergarten. Telling her friend was one of the hardest things Karma ever had to do. But then, Casey, the perfect Casey, appeared in her mind's eye and told her to stop being a crybaby, because the girl did not ever like her in the first place. These things continued her whole life. But in highschool, Casey dissapeared until junior year, and Karma had completely forgotten her as she gained real life friends. There were no more voices in her head, until one day, when a friend claimed to be secretly meeting Karma's boyfriend. Karma had gone home in tears. This friend was someone Karma would have trusted her life with, until then. She knew she should just talk to her boyfriend, but then something strange happened. She began to pace, back and forth, back and forth, like a rocking chair almost. Soon, Karma felt as though she was seeing through someone elses eyes, in a body she had no control of. She recognized it as her body, but it was almost moving involuntarily. It removed her shirt and bra and grabbed her camera. Next thing she knew, Karma's body was sending pictures of her breasts to an unknown person over the internet. Karma's head had began to pound painfully as she was put back in control. All she could think was, get rid of the email, the evidence, the pictures, make it all dissapear. An ugly thought came to her mind, one that she would not normally think: "Hurt them both. I have to make them both hurt the way I've been hurt. I must have revenge." She thought that perhaps her mind had simply wandered, but over the next couple of years, it just got worse, until the thoughts were always coming, she began to cut herself again, attempted burns, carving words into her body, beating herself in the face, biting herself, anything to make her feel punished for all the wrong she had done, as though she were a puppet with strings, and someone else controlled her body as she controlled her voice. But Casey had even found a way to use Karma's voice as well. There was no

Karma did not want to give Casey the satisfaction, but eventually told Rimmy what was going on. At first he seemed to believe her but over time he got tired of her complaining, and resorted to calling her crazy, and a liar. At times like this, Casey tried to push herself out, to protect Karma, and there were times that Karma allowed Casey to reveal herself, hoping to put Rimmy in his place, but in the end Karma had just been hurting herself more. Rimmy only believed in facts, and the fact was, this particular issue had no straightforward evidence proving that Karma was telling the truth. All she had was her word, and because of the way Casey could control Karma, she wasn't the most trustworthy person. On multiple times, Casey had taken control of Karma's arms and made her throw birth control pills out the window of a car or train, never to be seen again. It just was not plausible to believe anything Karma said.

Rimmy sighed. He wasn't intrested in another fight. He looked from her to the coffee, waiting.

"Aren't you going to make breakfast or something?" he asked firmly. "You hate my cooking," Karma told him. "Well I have to eat something." "I wasn't aware that you can't get your own bowl of cereal." "Stop being a bitch." "Stop being a dick." "Y'know, this is why I don't think you're ready for kids. You're immature, you're a bitch about everything, you can't even clean up after yourself, I can't remember the last time you cleaned anything in fact!" "What the fuck do you know?" Casey had awoken, but stayed silent."You don't know shit, do you? We are never going to have kids! Never!" "Not if you keep acting like this!" "It has nothing to do with the way I act! It is genetically impossible for us to produce offspring!" "Yeah, sure, whatever."

Casey finally spoke. Karma was frozen, unable to control the anger that was burning through her brain and heart. "Fine, you don't believe me? Go talk to a doctor, or a geneticist, or or I don't know a biologist! So stop talking about kids, and me being a mother, and all that kind of shit! I'm so sick and tired of it!" "Watch your mouth, Karma! You aren't the only one who has it rough, in fact you've got it pretty good! All you have to do is pay bills and groceries!" "This isn't about money, you idiot! It's about what a complete dimwit you are! You think you know everything, but you don't! " Casey spewed. But somehow, out of longing and love for Rimmy to understand, Karma broke through, stopping Casey's hurtful words.

"And I'm not making this one up, Rimmy, this is real! The reason Mom didn't want us to mate was exactly for this reason! This is why she doesn't like you, because she'll never have a grandchild, and for us foxes, the next generation is extremely important! You know how few of us there are!" Karma told him, lowering her voice, trying not to sound angry.

Rimmy had had enough. He went into the bedroom and slammed the door, locking it. Karma sat down, crying. Her tears drenched her fur, and each one seemed to be screaming at her for fighting. Casey's voice was coming through those drops, and before she knew it, Karma was standing, and pacing. Back and forth...back and forth....back and forth....it was like being a newborn kit, rocked in it's mother's arms. Back and forth she went until finally, her body went slack, relaxed. Karma no longer was in control.

Casey walked to the steak knives, and grabbed one. She brought it to the right shoulder, and made a quick yet deep cut. There was no audible scream. Casey could hear a blood curdling scream however. It was drawn out, seemingly unending.

"Put it down, Karma! What did you do? Look at me!"

Rimmy had come out to check on her, and found Karma's body holding a bloody steak knife with brown fur stuck to the red blood. He held her upper arms, hugging her as well as immobilizing her. He took the knife from her, and sat her down. Her eyes had changed from green to yellow. She was not in pain, but she was angry and sad. This was the extent of his knowledge, however. He had know idea that the yellow eyes were the eyes of Casey.

"Why would you do that Karma? You haven't hurt yourself in years. I thought you were seeing your therapist, and taking medication?" "yeah you thought" a horrible, ugly voice said. "What?"

Casey went dormant, leaving Karma to take back her body, and her pain.

"H-he w-w-wanted me t-t-to try a f-few m-months without it" she told him as she cried. "A few months? Karma, how long have you been off the medication? Why didn't you tell me?" "I've b-been off them f-f-for t-two weeks. I c-c-ouldn't. I thought I w-was b-better!"

Rimmy sighed and picked her up bridal style, and carried her to the bed and lay her down. He sat next to her, and began to lick her cut. It stung at first but soon it was very soothing. His saliva made the burning go down. It felt good knowing he was there for her.

"I called Dr. Lynn," he told her after 20 minutes. "You....you did?" she looked worried. "She told me....so...no kids..." "I didn't think you'd care...I mean you say all the time that you don't want them..." "I want kids just not now. Is there absolutely no way?" "Well...there is...there is one way. Complete genetic engineering." "genetic engineering?" " It's very expensive though, and we don't have that kind of money, Rimmy. There's no point in trying." "What does it entail?" "I think they take parts of our genetic codes to create the fetus with the correct chromosomes and implant the fetus."

Rimmy couldn't believe what he was hearing. His tail began to wag excitedly. He didn't care what the cost was. He did care that they at least had the kids they wanted.

"Karma, I promise, I will save up every penny for it." "Rimmy, don't," she protested. "You and I may be mated, but I know how you males work. This new girl at your office is in heat, and every one of you will be after her. What happens if you are the one that gets her pregnant?" "Well..."he blushed. "She isn't a dog...she's a feline." "They are all whores." "Now now, you have a cat friend, don't you?" "Victoria? Victoria is more puppy than queen." "Karma, I can't get this girl pregnant. But if it means that much to you, I will try to resist. But you know I can't promise anything."

Karma frowned again. She knew he could never promise not to have sex with another female, but she knew that he could try. It frustrated her. Secretly, she wanted to hunt down every female he stank of when he came home from work. It completely threw her a loop, as though she had been given a super steroid, she felt stronger, smarter, and more importantly deadlier. There had been one female Karma had scared half to death, but found that it would hurt Rimmy. She didn't want to do anything that might hurt him.

"All right," she agreed.

Rimmy licked her shoulder again, which stung, making her jump.

"you cut yourself very deep. This will take a long time to heal, Karma. Will you be able to work on Monday?" "Of course, I think I have some antibiotics, I'll keep it clean. Besides, it's a cut, not a broken arm."

He licked her muzzle, and she made a face, but smiled and licked him back. She nuzzled his ear as he licked her cut. She kept wondering about what he said about the genetic engineering; that he would save every penny until they could afford it. She felt abit giddy that he had said that, but she didn't get her hopes up. Rimmy almost never kept his promises.
