Ch: 4. A World's Dream? Or A World's Future?

Awakening to the cold feel of wind, I looked upon a transparant, yet shattered wall. Looking around on what I was resting upon, it looked different from a bed, and more like a wide chair. Steel springs were tearing out of it, holes were visible into the core of the substance. Feeling something warm brush my fur, I brought my head up, and looked around the room. The air was musty, and the room made of dust. Within my mild confusion, I looked to my legs. Wearing a blue, course yet flexible material, I stared in bewilderment at the new substance. 'Where the hell am I?' Questions dug into my mind, as if driving me to insanity. Within this, I heard a shrill sound echoing through my ears beyond the walls containing me. It shot by, and I saw the slight flash of blue and red. "Good." The familiar voice made me lurch, to my left. Looking upon the gold and black fur of the old wolf, I became silent, blank, relentless. "How the hell did yo-" My voice sounded alien, and pounded my head with those words. I started to stray from thoughts, towards shallow guesses and made up fables. "A lot is to be explained, I know. Have patience." He gave a sly smile, and I felt something brush up against me once again. Looking down, I stared at a sleeping feral. Looking upon the King Charles, I noted it was crossbred with another dog. His breathing was slow and peaceful, and he had one of his paws over my chest. His fur, white and blazed was course yet soft. I stared at the older wolf, who brought something towards his mouth, then retracted. "You know." He spoke with a mouthful. "That dog's been sleeping with you ever since I got here. He seems to be very attached to you." Studying the dog; memories of this life stabbed into me, driving deeper and deeper into my head, yet out of all the godforsaken all I remembered was the dog's name. I gave a little twitch at the pains highest intensity, and it woke him up. Brown eyes looked brightly up at me, then to the old wolf. "Caesar." I spoke his name in thought he wouldn't respond. yet he immediately turned his head, and started to wag his tail. "I will say this." The wolf got my attention. "I hope you enjoyed sleeping on that couch, but we need to get going. I have someone you must meet." "Couch? Wait, who am I meeting?" Starting to laugh, he only told me to get up and follow him. Taking a minute, I heard the sounds of yelling out the window. After hearing several cracks, and the sounds of sirens. I looked up to the flickering lights, oddly enough an anthro deer stood over the bodies of two other creatures. Finally catching onto the scents of the smoke, a memory came haunting, a memory that I recognized. Looking into my minds window, I saw the darkened shapes of me, and another wielding his blade. An English long sword was what he held, and the gasps of people within the tavern around him started up. They backed up, and stared at the creature, terror within their eyes. After saying something, he went for me. Blade wielded high to the shadowing room, I moved in, and grabbed the hilt of his blade. Locking creature to creature, we fought quickly, power over the blade. Yet after a minutes time, one finally found the courage to wield my blade. Then my mind left, and everything was forgotten. Looking back to this reality, I already found myself somewhere new. The skies were already darkened, and the wolf was staring below to what appeared as a cliff. Looking through the unseen, I watched three silhouettes walk into darkness, I only heard fractions of their conversation. "Girl, I saw how you moved you're body. I want that." Looking into her darkened face, I took note of the grin she made, Twisted, and disfigured; the look of a killer. "Sorry, I'm not that kind of girl." Walking along, he stopped her. Having his arm around her, she gave another twisted smile as he drew her in close. "Come on, there's nothing wrong with that." "Sorry." Looking annoyed, the male grabbed her a little more violently. Looking to the elder in confusion, the wolf urged me to continue watching. She stared with this unexplainable look. "Now that's what I like." Drawing herself in closer, I saw a splinter of steel in the cold, dim light. She was right up to his muzzle, when she started talking again. "A male who's a little more dominant." Upon the final word, her arm lunged to her opposite side. watching in slight horror, I watched him fall to his knees. Upon the cement, I already saw his paws drenched in his blood, and the puddling form that came around him. Hitting the ground, the other male backed up and shook his head. "You son of a-" Charging at her with his fist drawn, he threw his arm forward, but she moved, and landed multiple hits to his side, accurate and strong. A grunt of pain came, and he spun around to attack. Ducking under his flailed arm, she grabbed his arm, and spun it around. Hearing a slight crack, he gave a cry, while I watched her arm rise up, and brought her elbow slamming down. His arm appeared to go in half, the way it wretched and dangled when she let go was enough to make me sick along with his feeble cry of rage, yet his shriek of pain. watching him strike again, she got him in a hold. Her arms around his neck, I saw the stress she put upon it, and the final crack of it breaking. Watching his body fall, I looked at the wolf in disgust. "What the fuck was that!?" Staring into his darkened face, he gave a smile. "I'm Fylakas." "I don't give a shit, what the fuck was that!?" It was a mixture of fear and rage, I looked upon him, almost in the way she looked upon the other. "Have you ever wondered what it's like to correct a wrong?" "Yes, but not like that." "If you could look into the future, and see how every creature could affect it, would you do anything to prevent anything wrong?" Going blank, I thought for a moment, then got back to my life. "That's impossible." He shot a look, and I saw a flash. "I'll show you." Unable to speak, I stared into the creature's future. Looking upon a bobcat, and pinning that the dead creature was him. I watched his future if he had lived, looking upon the fire in his paws, I saw him throw flaming bottles upon a building, burning it to the ground, and everyone inside. Then I saw more and more violence within it. Coming back, I breathed deeply, and was staring into a pair of green, and golden eyes. "Y- you, your th-" "The pup that saved you? Yes." Stumbling back, I saw her smile kindly. "Your al-" "Also the one to kill that cat." ''What just happened?'' It rang through my head, being unable to know what was real or fake, I drove my claws into the back of my head. "What just happened was justice, not that I enjoy it, but it has to be done." "And if it isn't?" I brought the objection without knowing it. "We all die." She spoke seriously. "Why am I here then?" "We need your help." Within the darkness, I realized that I was on a bed. Without clothing, I almost jumped to cover myself. Stuttering out, I simply heard her laugh, and leave. "Get some rest; we all have a lot to talk about tomorrow." Within the pale light, everything went dark. With the exception of the moonlight that flowed through the open window. I closed my eyes in confusion, but didn't dare to ask question about it. After watching what she did, and can do. I knew there was no messing around with her. I heard the door crack open, and a figure jumped on the bed. Almost jumping myself, I looked into the familiar eyes of a dog. "Yeah, what do you want?" He came over, and snuggled up with me. "Okay?" Caesar stayed with me, and fell asleep on the bed quickly, his peaceful breathing aided me into rest, and I stuck into the nightmares that stabbed into me, then again I awoke in another world.
