The Hybrid War Chronicles
As the APC reached its final destination, My and my entire squad had that feeling...you know...that knot of fear in your gut that something bad was coming our way...and soon. Corporal Jennings and I decided to ignore it, confident in our ability to kill those...those monstrous animals we call hybrids.
My name is Luietenant Garret Rombal. I have been in this war for some time now, and i have my doubts on the purpose of this war. but then i am reminded of my family, and sheer hatred kicks in. i would rather not share the tale of the death of my family at the hands of the Hybrids.
The cargo door opened and we poured out of the APC Like it was a bursting dam, eager for combat. But we would have to suppress our hatred, for our mission was simple: Gaurd the General. what a waste of our talents. you are wondering why we are doing this lame-ass job, yes? the General has arranged for a meeting with the Hybrid leaders under protection of truce. it was really boring, so we decided to "visit" the prisoners. they were freaky looking. one of them looked like anubis, i swear to god...and there was a lion, a horse, a jackal...hell, it was like Darwins grab-bag...
it was getting late and most of the men had left for a smoke. "hey, you!" i turned around. it was another prisoner, a wolf i might add, a female too. " where do you want this one?". i thought about it. "put her in Cage 3." the soldiers nodded. just then i noticed she had been beaten and she was crying. "wait, put this one in my tent. i want to talk to this one." they nodded again as the headed to my tent. i followed.
once the soldiers left, i asked her: "where were you captured?"
she didn't answer.
"look, you aren't making my job any easier, just tell me"
she looked up at me. "what do you care?" she looked pissed.
"i need to write this down on the report so that when we release you, we'll know where to drop you off."
"i have no home any more" i suddenly knew. "i was on my way to the hospital to check on my father and brother when there was an explosion"
"were you hurt?"
"no"
"you look like you've been beaten. what happened?"
"The debris hit me and knocked me out"
"i'll get a medic. hold on" i pressed the medical alert button.
"When I woke up i was in a car of some sort"
"and then they dropped you off here?"
"yes"
"did you father and brother survive?"
she started crying again" that was the room that exploded!"
