It was hot. Like that kind of heat that melted your feet to the ground.

"Ugh," Sam groaned as she and Cally dragged themselves back to the car. "I don't know why I thought that going on a picnic was a good idea."

"It's alright hun," the gold dragoness said to her girlfriend. "I thought it was cute."

The chinchilla huffed and threw open her door. Today was ruined.

"Why don't we...go get something to eat at the mall?" Cally said, putting her hand on Sam's arm. "Salad Works just opened, so it'd be something new to check out."

"Yeah," Sam said smiling, glad that Cally could be so understanding sometimes. Maybe that was why they kept working out. Though it could have been the rodent's soft spot for curvy ladies that was the real culprit.

Putting her hatch in reverse she pulled out of the gravel parking lot and headed towards the nearby mall. The drive over was filled with small talk and by time they parked the couple had forgotten how upset they had been. That is, until they got out of the car.

"ARGH! I hate this!" Sam screeched after they had been waling for only a few seconds.

Cally smiled understandingly and walked such that her smaller lover was in her shadow. Once inside, Sam's mood improved and they made a bee line for the food. Each bought a bowl of leafy greens and some juice and then selected a table in the far corner that was mostly deserted.

Sam bit into her salad first, happily nomming the crunchy bite and then digging in with gusto. Cally meanwhile ate slowly, just enjoying the quiet moment between them. She looked down to take a sip and then glanced back quickly. Was Sam...bigger? No it had to just be from the heat and yet, the fork was indeed grasped by more of the chinchilla's paw. Before her eyes, the muscles under Sam's arm rippled and then pulsed, creating a wave that washed over the now not so small rodents frame.

"You going to eat that?" Sam said, not looking up at Cally but staring right at the dragoness' untouched bowl.

Before Cally could respond, Sam took the bowl and up ended it, swallowing the whole salad in one gulp.

Yup. Definitely bigger. With each breath it seemed Sam's frame was filling out, pushing the once rail thin fur towards a body type that rivaled Cally's own curvy frame.

"I'm going to get another," Sam said as she got up, affording Cally a flash of panty through the strained inseem of her shorts. "Or maybe two, I've never been so hungary in my life."

Watching the chinchilla walk away, Cally was conflicted. Something about her girlfriend growing was...enchanting in a way and yet the thought was terrifying. What if Sam didn't want to be with her any more! Desperation forcing her hand, she rushed after the now six foot tall and quite buxom Sam.

Before Cally could even cover half the distance, Sam was at the counter, her clothes almost completely shredded by her body's bounding growth.

"I'll have six more bowls please." Sam said to the cashier, who gaped at the rodent as her breasts destroyed what remained of her shirt. "I guess I'll get them myself," Sam said with a huff. The bowls of greens came across the counter when the dragoness was inches from her still swelling partner.

"SAM! No!"

Ignoring Cally's cry, the chinchilla swept the bowls up with both hands. Downing each in quick successions of gulps. Mouth full of foliage, she chewed and grew, munched and swelled. Seven feet, eight, nine. Her shoulders pressed against the ceiling and she still showed no signs of slowing in her expansion.

Cally could only marvel as Sam's body grew to large enough to block out the sun, it seemed that today had gone completely pear shaped.
