#9 of Clinging Onto a Hope of Happiness

Thanks to DarkUmbreon99, for helping me with names, even though i didn't use any of them. I do appreciate it though, truely. Here goes Chapter Two. Don't hold back, contructive criticism wanted.

It was the first time that Fara was bathed in a tub. Georgia had never cleaned her, she always let Fara clean herself with her saliva. Lucky did all the work for her, so she could just relax as she was cleaned.

"Turn around, I need to get your face, Fara," Lucky said. When Fara turned around, the water waved around in the tub.

"Close your eyes, I don't want to sting you," Lucky said. Fara obeyed, and Lucky started cleaning off her face. She kepy her eyes closed until her face was rinsed off. By instinct, she shook herself and got water all over Lucky.

"Hey! Fara, stop!" Lucky complained as she got wet. Fara opened her eyes and saw a Houndoom and a Manectric waiting for their turn to be washed. She giggled at how the juices of love were still stuck to their fur.

"Maybe you should be more worried about them," Fara joked.

"Haha, you're right. You're all clean, go ahead and I'll take care of them." Fara climbed out of the tub. She couldn't simply hop over the side because her leg wouldn't let her. As she passed through the door, the other two pokemon went in.

"Are you... smiling?" Bubba asked. "I've never seen you smile before. And you're purring."

"Shut up," Fara said, embarrassed.

Fara looked out a new side of a window. She could see the stars already. She curled up in a ball and drifted off to sleep.

Fara used a psychic to free her way outside. She sighed as she felt cold dirt once again. She walked off a little bit, expecting to see something from the past life she had. Like Petal, or Kyler. She sat next to the stream of water and watched the stars for a while.

She reminded herself of Kyler. The scene that she saw, his rings glowing vibrantly. The jewel on her head shone brightly in the light of the stars and the moon.

A tear welled in her eye at the thought of Kyler. "Hello," came a raspy voice. Fara was startled, and the tear in her right eye dropped down to her chin. She quickly turned her face away, not wanting to explain to him anything.

"...Go away," Fara said, her voice shaky in sadness.

"I won't leave you alone until you tell me what's wrong," he said. She looked at him. There were lines down her face, from the tears that she cried.

"I won't tell you," Fara said. "I won't tell anyone... Ever."

"Come out to comfort a young lady and get shooed away," he said, and started to walk away.

"Wait," Fara said. "Your name?"

"It's Skeln," He said. "And my mate's, Ches."

Fara took a deep breath. "A pleasure to meet you, Skeln."

"I would say likewise, but you told me to 'go away,'" he said. Fara sniffled. "I'll get you to tell me, one day," he said, and then he was gone.

When Fara had let herself out, she followed shortly after. But this time, she was able to talk to them and enter the house with them.

Now that it was morning, everybody was waking up. When Lucky was done with her morning grooming, she knelt down in front of Fara, and told her the plan. They were to go to Veilstone city, and...

"You got all that, Fara?" Fara knew now, why Lucky didn't have many pokemon.

~Ring~

"That's a phone call from the gang, gotta catch this," Lucky said. She flipped her cellphone open, and for a second said nothing. "Alright boss, I'm on my way," she said. She closed the cellphone, and motioned for Fara to come closer. She whispered to her. "You can't tell anyone, okay? This is just between me, my pokemon, and the gang.

"Got it," Fara said. Excitement for her new job rolled up around her belly.

~Rumble~

That, or hunger.

"Maybe I should get cooking, then, since you requested it so openly," Lucky said.

Fara looked down at her feet. She hadn't eaten since yesterday morning's razz. Razz was her favorite, and sitrus was second best. She would settle for oran and cheri, because they were easily prepared. Georgia made cheri soup all the time, and shared it with her.

"What would you like? I've got anything from cheri to lum sitting up here."

"Razz is my favorite," Fara said. "But i had that yesterday, so I'll have some cheri soup,"

"Coming right up!" Lucky said. She took out a couple of cheri berries and moomoo milk from her bag. And with that, she got cooking.

Fara went over and looked out to the morning sky. She watched the sun slowly rise up as her cheri soup was made.

A few of her hairs stood up while she anxiously awaited the day that the plan took action.
