A year later and you might ask WTF happened well I can tell you a lot happened and still not quite so much but you will be happy to know a lot of questions are answered this time around.

Note from Lunarmon: RenamonGuard finally finished it, ahm, 3/7/2011, and I've finally finished proofreading it so enjoy...now back to work, where is that story, no not that one, not that one either...

Synopsis: The Digital World's lines are drawing as armies are marching together for either side but old enemies become friends in the wake of brutal fighting and life that is born heralds both sanctuary and destruction.

The Cold Dawn Chapter 9

Richard and Rena slept soundly for two days straight, while others were a bit concerned about them they were assured by Sakuyamon that they were merely exhausted from their individual ordeals.

It was Apollomon that was causing the most trouble, he wasn't one to stay still for too long and while Merukimon was able to move to places quicker than any Digimon alive his counterparts didn't have the same luxury and were forced to stay within Shadow Vale.

Rena woke up first with a yawn and looked affectionately to Richard holding a digi-egg in each arm. He looked adorable, and he was sleeping so peacefully that she didn't want to wake him, so instead she got up slowly from the bed prying his arm off her at the same time.

She walked over to the balcony and opened the doors letting in the brisk morning air flow past her entire body, making the fur on her seem like it was an flowing ocean that covered her skin.

Rena looked down at the courtyard and beyond to see people going about their daily lives, even the noticeable increase in security.

She stretched and yawned again while looking back at her eggs that would soon become children.

Digimon eggs where always a funny thing, most of the time Digimon would be born in their fresh forms while in some cases like that of Rena's little sister she was born as a baby Renamon and grew from there, and while not unheard of it was a rare case and for awhile was a trying time for the family to learn how to take care of her.

Rena thought about what their children might be like, this was the first time a Digimon and human ever had a child and there was no one to turn to for help in such a situation. She was worrying to much though, she could sense that the children were healthy and if she wasn't mistaken, happy as well.

Rena's stomach growled at her, telling her that she hadn't eaten in several days and while Digimon birth were relatively easy, compared to human ones, the amount of energy used was massive and in some cases more dangerous than a human birth because of it.

She walked down the stairs and in to the kitchen only to be suddenly greeted by the whole staff that bowed down to her as soon as they noticed. "Please all of you get up" Rena said plainly, one thing she didn't like about being royalty was that every one stopped what they were doing to bow to her, which really got annoying early on.

The kitchen master quickly yelled at the rest to hurry up and get back to work then he quickly escorted Rena to a nearby table.

As she sat down she looked up to the kitchen master and said. "Relax Slice, I just came to get something to eat." The name Slice came to the Taomon in his early years from his experience with a blade which he sliced many enemies with careful and brutal precision.

Now a days though he used that skill in the kitchen, he had more than enough of killing and wanted to do something useful so he ended up taking working in the royal palace.

Rena had learned her cooking skills and even some fighting moves from him when she was young, and all of those skills helped her in years past and she didn't doubt that they would continue to do so.

It was about 30 minutes until Slice came back with a full plate of food of various kinds all of which was meant to replenish energy. Slice bowed and said. "I wouldn't worry about eating properly, just go for it and chow down," and Rena did exactly that.

After she finally finished eating and after a few minutes of waiting for it to digest she started to feel surges of power and soon her energy was back to normal. "That is amazing I feel good as new" Rena said with a smile as she twirled around.

"I knew that would do the trick, I invented that recipe for when someone exhausts their energy, but there is a limit to how often it will work and it will only work if someone has sustained little actual wounds." Slice said with a grin and handed her another plate of food that was similar to what he had already given her. "Bring this to him, the recipe is different but should do the trick."

"Thank you." She said and before she left there was another sudden surge of energy, but this surge was from an outside source and it rumbled the palace itself. Rena recognized this power however and knew something was wrong. She quickly handed back the food and ran with all speed back to her room.

When she got there however others were already starting to gather, including guards who had stayed back to let others through including the olympions, the reformed dark lords, and Rena's friends.

She quickly got in to the room and saw Richard holding up a human man, that wore his brown hair in a ponytail, by his neck with a dragon like arm, not the normal flame form one but this one was more solid and bits of his powerful flame licked all around it.

The man struggled to free himself but it was no use, once Richard had his grip he wasn't about to let go. There was also something else, there was anger in Richards eyes and while he would fight for people very quickly he didn't get as angry as people thought he did, which meant this man must have done something, or was going to, that made him ready to snap his neck.

"What is going on Richard?" Rena asked him with worry. Richard however never moved his eyes off the struggling man even as he replied. "I caught him trying to steal one of our children away from us."

Those word made Rena extremely angry, which was evident on the angry scowl that came from her face, and if her father Teo didn't rush in, it was likely that the mysterious man would have died soon.

"Put him down, this man is Gennai the last of the Digital Guards." Teo said as he walked towards Richard, but even then Richard didn't let go and simply replied. "I know who he is but that doesn't change the fact that he tried to steal one of my children, and I will not let him go until I know why."

Richard flung Gennai down to the floor and summoned black flames in the form of a half sphere prison around the Digital Guard. "Now if you touch those flames you will feel incredible pain that will not extinguish until I say so, now why are you here." Richard told him with a scowl.

"I had to examine these children, they are the first of their kind and an oddity for both worlds. I was also hoping to make one of them into one of the Digimon for the next generation of Digi-destined heroes." Gennai explained.

Quite surprised at his forthcoming Richard was speechless for a few moments until he came back to his senses and asked. "Why did you not come directly to us and speak with us?" "I suppose I should have but with me being the last I had to take the action I thought best."

"You should have thought more clearly or are you so blind that you thought I wouldn't hunt you down and retrieve my children if you had gotten away." Richard said still with a scowl on his face. Gennai looked down and said with all honesty. "I'm sorry, I really am but I had to do what I thought was best, nearly every major higher up Digimon is moving from what is happening, if I didn't act soon it could mean consequences beyond our worlds."

"Are you talking about the Dark World?" Teo mentioned.

Gennai replied with a nod and said. "Yes, even after Ogudomon was torn apart, the shear amount of sin and malice that he kept in check was so great that it couldn't be contained in the separate forms of the swords, the demon lords or even Demonmon, in fact most of it went into another world created by the most powerful Digimon of the time. The world would be called the Dark World a simple and even beautiful place but full of creatures that would eventually take on the form of creatures and evil things."

Many had hear of the Dark World, more so after the first Digi-destined had their encounter with the Daemon from there, it wasn't the first Daemon like what BloodSeraphimon used to be but seemed to be just as powerful which was odd.

Richard glared at Gennai for a moment even though he knew he was telling the truth. He quickly waved his hand over the flames and they vanish like a wind blew them out. "Take him to a room and if he tries to escape kill him." Richard said to no one particular but two guards grabbed Gennai by the arms and escorted him away and out of the room.

After the others left the room Richard sat by the eggs; his children and caressed each one as Rena looked on him with worry. "Love, what has you so troubled?" she asked as she sat beside him and held him close.

"Every time I look around I see people and Digimon wanting to hurt us, why can't we just be left in peace?" he asked simply as he stared at her. This was one of the few times he was completely lost and like many times before he looked to Rena for guidance and words of comfort.

She held out her hand to the side of his face as he leaned against it and closed his eyes. "Love, you have told me nothing is ever simple in this world or in another and as much as others might want to hurt us, we will stay by each other no matter what happens." Rena told him affectionately.

He stayed like that for a few more moments not wanting to let her hand go but he had to do something so he stood up and said. "As always you are right my love." then Richard walked out the door and left Rena with the eggs for a little while; while he dealt with some other issues.

After finding out where Gennai was taken Richard marched towards the door and flung them open startling the guards inside, most because Richard's version of flinging the door open at that moment was blasting it apart.

He picked Gennai up by the scruff of his robe and said with all honesty. "You will go out and tell any and all of the major Digimon that all I want is to live in peace, I will not make war nor bother anyone else unless it is absolutely necessary." It was at this point that Richard's voice changed and became much more deep, even as his eyes breathed black flames Gennai didn't struggle at all he just stared into those horrible eyes as Richard said. "If anyone tries to kill or hurt my family I will delete them permanently without a moment's thought."

He let Gennai go and pointed towards the door but for a moment Gennai did nothing, this human had power even beyond most Digimon he just couldn't wrap his brain around how he could have gotten such power, but he didn't linger for much longer and quickly bowed respectfully then left just as quickly out the door.

"Make sure the rest of the guards know that it is ok to let him pass." Richard said to the other guards that were there and they quickly saluted and left.

He decided to get some answers on what was going on and he knew the olympians knew something and he was going to find out.

Richard went around asking where Dianamon and the others where and found out they were in the library so he headed there.

Minervamon and Dianamon were quietly reading the rather large library but while Dianamon was leaning against a pillar a little farther away while Minervamon was sitting by the table and looking rather annoyed and the reason was pretty clear why.

Apollomon was across from Minervamon leaning back in a chair with his feet on the table snoring loudly, this also annoyed Richard in the way that they were acting so calm when they withheld crucial information from him.

Richard quickly tipped Apollomon back to which he quickly fell with his back and head making a loud thud and waking up quickly and saying just as fast. "Alright who the hell tipped me over."

"I did and I'm going to do a lot worse if you all don't tell me what you know right now." Richard said with anger and frustration in his voice. This didn't set will with Apollomon and before the other two could react he lunged for Richard but he also forgot about how strong Richard was so before he knew it he was up in the air with a large clawed hand around his neck of living black flame.

"I think you had best calm down." Minervamon said as she held the tip of her sword to the back of Richards neck. Dianamon calmly walked over and lowered Minervamons sword with her hand and put the other hand on Richard's shoulder while letting her own power flow forth to show that she was serious while she said. "Ok let him down, I will tell you what you want to know."

"Fine." Richard said and dropped Apollomon to the floor who quickly got up and was about to rush at Richard until Dianamon stood between them and said. "Enough, now Apollomon I did warn you about your temper, now both of you take a seat."

After Apollomon calmed down, and they all took a seat, Dianamon began explaining what she knew.

"You already know about what happened after one of Ogudomon's swords were taken from him and I'm sure you know as well that afterwards the most powerful Digimon forced the resulting negative power to split and condensed into separate forms as to manage the situation from going out of control." "What about Venusmon I'm guessing she wasn't formed from that power in the first place?" Richard asked.

Dianamon simply nodded and continued. "Yes, some like her were close when the incident occurred and when not in the absence of a host that power fused with others. Some like Venusmon had a more dramatic change while others like Lucemon and Beelzemon had a much less dramatic change to their bodies either from already holding mass amounts of negative emotions within them or they just weren't affected as much for some other reason."

"I had guessed something like that but I'm guessing that the power also started making its own Digimon or sorts when it was contained in its own world" Richard surmised. "Indeed, it started to make other Digimon to act as agents of sorts but no matter what it does it can not escape from its prison" Dianamon continued to say.

Richard thought for a moment and asked the simple question he wanted and needed to know. "But who was it that pulled the sword from Ogudomon?" Dianamon eyes narrowed as she assessed Richard. She wondered just who he was and how he was able to contain both equally powerful and opposite energies within him, never the less she exhaled and resolved to tell him. "No doubt you have heard of the Royal Knights, out of them all, their leader is the only one not there, for a grave punishment was given to him for breaking the balance, the lord of the empty seat, leader and founder of the Royal Knights, the only one that could have done such a thing, Alphamon."

Richard looked down and thought for a moment he finally knew who started it but not the why, and as he looked up Dianamon could already see the question on his face and answered before he could ask "There are several reasons people think Alphamon took a sword from Ogudomon, but it's thought that it was a combination of two main things. The first being from a woman and the second being from his Alpha gain force or Alpha Inforce which in battle allows him to reflect, repel and reverse any power used against him and send it back at his opponent."

"It was thought that because of this unique ability that ability of Ogudomon did not work on him, which allowed negative emotions to overrule his normally sound judgment which was caused from what I mentioned before." Dianamon finally finished talking and let Richard absorbed the information he was just given.

This was foreboding indeed, Alphamon was gifted with one of the most powerful abilities known in the legends of the Digital World.

"What is your stand on this right now, who will you fight for, what do you plan on doing?" Richard asked honestly not knowing where they would stand.

All three of them looked at each other like neither one of them knew yet or even what to say. However Dianamon after a moment nodded to both Apollomon and Minervamon and they nodded in return then Dianamon said. "While we can't speak for all of the twelve we will fight with you."

Richard gave a small smirk and said. "Very well, and when you can, have Merukimon find any others that will fight with us, for now I need to check to see if any scout's have returned with news" and with that he quickly left the library.

It took awhile for him to find where all the army scout's reported to, it wasn't far from the palace but it was farther away from the palace then he thought, but then again with their innate ability to travel long distances quickly and very silently.

The building itself was heavily fortified and larger than the others and it became evident why as soon as he took a look farther down the road he could see the army base almost right next to the building he was entering which he guessed was their spy network. It was also close to the palace as well so it made sense to place it where messages going to and from both the army and royal family would be quickly done.

The guards at first eyed him warily but Richard understood that it was most likely out of a force of habit considering where he was. It was as busy as he expected it to be but he was quickly approached by a Taomon who was dressed like ninja who instructed him to wait inside the central building on the top floor.

Richard brought forth his wings and stretched them a bit and took off only for a brief moment before settling outside on a balcony of the office of who he guessed was in charge.

What he saw was rather surprising, on the desk going over paperwork and looking rather seriously was Rena's little sister. "Well this is a surprise, I didn't think you were the one in charge." Richard said out loud.

"I'm still just in training but I'm expected to take over when I'm older." she said without even looking up. After another moment she leaned back and said. "Awwww I'm so bored all I see is paperwork and more paperwork, I want to play!!"

Richard laughed a little and said. "Well that's fine, you're still a kid after all, but before you run off can you tell me where I can find the scout reports in regards to the powerful Digimon and what they are currently doing."

"Oh, those are right here" she said as she gestured to her left. "They're not all here though and I was told not to open them until all of them have arrived and only when my mentor is here with me."

The reasoning was sound and justified but he didn't have the time to wait around. "Well if you were to open them with me here it should be alright and you would be done with your work that much sooner, after all I was the one to request the scout's be sent out in the first place." he said to her.

She thought for a moment and gave him a quick smile and said. "You're right, ok let's see what they say."

Even as they opened them Richard wasn't sure what to expect but he had high hopes that it would at least tell him they weren't marching against him.

As he opened the wax seal of each one and he gave a great sigh of relief as each one roughly said the same thing that none of them were marching against Shadow Vale.

Something was bothering him though, each message had little details on what they were up to or anything else for that matter.

In a war, information is power and at the moment he had very little of it.

Something else was bothering him as well. Even if he got all the powers together again how would he put everything right, to do that he would need powerful allies, and Ogudomon's body.

Still he should have known that there wouldn't be much in these scrolls, so he set them aside and thought that Merukimon would more likely be able to get more information as he was not only the fastest Digimon but also one of some renown.

In any case he quickly said goodbye to Rena's sister and decided to take a little flight around in the sky to clear his head and figure out his next move which wouldn't come until more information was gathered.

He must have seemed like an odd sight in the sky, one wing of snow white flame and the other of the purest black.

Still this calmed him and when he saw the market he landed in the middle of it and gave everyone quite a scare, at least until some of the merchants noticed who Richard was and told everyone to calm down.

Richard had a money pouch tied around his waist and he decided to use it for something, he just wasn't sure what.

The market square was like any other he guessed even though he never been to any before.

Everyone sold something different but there was one thing that immediately caught his eye. Over in behind a window of a shop that clearly sold jewelry was a large collection of necklaces and one in particular that was of interest to him, it had a simple silver chain with two gold Renamons holding a rainbow jewel up between them.

As soon as he walked in virtually all the customers inside stared at him with awe and questioning looks in their eyes.

Not all of the customers were of Renamon kind, but most were, and the shopkeeper, who was actually a Jewelbeemon, quickly came to greet Richard. "Welcome to the Jeweled Bee the finest jewelry in all of Shadow Vale, now what can I get for you?"

Richard gave a quick smile and said. "The necklace in the window with the two gold Renamons holding up the rainbow jewel."

"A most excellent piece. This is, truth be told, not made out of rare metals as other pieces but it was carved with exquisite detail by the maker, one of my own family I'll have you know......but I will guarantee that it is meant to last and keep its shine for a long time." the Jewelbeemon said while he grabbed the piece from the window and walked to the counter.

"There was one other thing though or rather six other things I am looking for." Richard said before the owner could begin wrapping up the necklace he had just decided to buy.

Renamon had been exhausted for a few days now and even with Slice's energy giving food she had earlier she was still tired but at the same time she wanted to sleep somewhere outside for awhile. So with that in mind she'd gotten Lillymon and Ameila to help her carry her eggs to the large garden at the right side of the palace, even at the voiced concerns of the guards, and rested under a large tree one that lightly let the sun through and with her eggs all around her and guards posted all around she settled down for a long sleep.

She dreamed sweet dreams of happy days with cheering children and no one trying to hurt her or Richard. Their children played in a field without a care in the world and while she couldn't make out what they looked like she knew they were happy and so was she, but soon she woke up to the gentle prodding of a comforting voice.

She rubbed her eyes and slowly opened them to see Richard standing in front of her with a big grin on his face and the first words to go out of her mouth were. "What is with the big grin?" she said with a yawn.

He brought out a small white box tied with a red ribbon. "It's a gift." Richard said simply and handed it to Rena, still with a big grin on his face.

She accepted the gift and she was surprise when she got it open.

The beautiful necklace that Richard had bought earlier shined wonderfully and the light from the jewel being hit from the sun made Rena's face look like an aurora.

"It's beautiful, I don't know what to say, thank you." Rena said with smile and she immediately put it on. The necklace connecting loops were made for Renamon type hands so she had no trouble putting it on herself.

"It looks wonderful on you." Richard said at the same moment Rena got up and gave an embracing hug to him.

"There is something else too." Richard said and he brought out another box that was larger than the first one and he opened it to reveal three pairs of necklaces each one with a different color and piece of the yin and yang symbols.

"Twins should have at least one thing in common." Richard said as he draped each necklace around the eggs. Afterwards he sat back down with Rena and but his right arm around her and they both leaned their heads against each other.

"They are such beautiful gifts, thank you, I wish I could have given you something." Rena said absently after a few minutes of silence. "Well my love you did give me that kimono before, but I think it got left behind on our rush leave of the house."

"Well then beloved I guess I will have to have something made for you here to replace it." Rena replied with a smile. "Something black with green or gold on it would be nice." Richard replied with an even bigger smile then Rena had.

Rena bumped Richard and he bumped her back and for the next while they fooled around like that until Sakuyamon came up to them with a low bow and said. "We have some guests in the main hall you might want to meet."

"Well I haven't seen you in a little while how have you been?" Richard asked as he got up. "Quite well, I actually was given a great gift from my peers but that be told later." she replied and motioned for both Richard and Rena to follow.

Both Rena and Richard carried three eggs each and went to the main hall and on their way there, Sakuyamon told Richard it would be best if he didn't kill anyone right off the bat. Richard thought it was an odd thing to say but didn't think much of it until a few moments later.

In the main hall talking to Rena's father and mother was the first Digi-destined.

Richard slowly put his children down next to Rena who was close by the door and told Sakuyamon to stay with her and the children.

He didn't bother to wait and listen to what they were saying he could see the faces of both of Rena's parents and they both had cold stares towards the suddenly arrived guests if not outright anger.

Not one of them, not even the Digimon noticed his presence until there was a large foreboding shadow looming over them then they finally turned around.

Standing before them was a monstrous form, it was the same shape and size as it was when they battled Richard when he lost control. The difference this time was there was still white flames present and his mouth was no longer a void, but his eyes pulsed with a red light that was the color of blood.

Matt was wide eyed shocked from suddenly coming face to face with the same being that nearly killed him and the others before. Gabumon just hid his face under his arms so scared that he couldn't even think of doing anything else while Matt just simply couldn't move.

Richard let power into his voice so it would reverberate the wall and windows giving him an even more powerful presence.

"Your reason for being here had best be quick and peaceful." Richard said, emphasizing on the quick part.

The only one who spoke up was Rena's mother. "They have come to suggest that we surrender you, our daughter and our grand-children to the proper authorities so you might all plead your case." She said it all in such a way that gave the impression that she didn't care if the Digi-destined got smeared all over the walls.

Richard looked at them for a moment with blazing red eyes that now seemed to be bleeding power, giving them time to plead their case, but not one of them said a word, they all just looked away.

He lifted his massive left arm and with a single back swing (not even moving from his spot) he smashed a pillar to pieces.

Richard took one massive step forward and for a moment it looked like he would step on them but the moment he foot came down he reverted back to his normal form, the flames disappeared as quickly as a normal fire if it was suddenly deprived of oxygen and fuel.

He stood no more than a few feet away from them and stepped back and with his right arm pointed towards the door.

Joe Kido was not there at the portal to see what Richard did but even after he was told what happened he should have known better then to speak up, he didn't.

"Surly you have to realize that if you don't turn yourself in it will most likely start a war." Joe tried to tell Richard, it was a bad idea.

Quicker than anyone could see Richard grabbed Joe by the neck with a great flaming hand and lifted him off the ground.

"It was war when people decided that me, my beloved and our children were abominations, it was war when your friend there and many others decided to blame all that happened on me and my beloved and tried to kill us outright. It was war then Azulongmon sent an army to kill everyone here, so come and bring your war, I will delete anyone who comes here to harm my family." Richard said and he threw Joe across the room towards the door.

Others rushed to help him but he wasn't really hurt and as they left Richard said one last word to them. "I have never once fought unless someone else was attacking me, but if this situation continues I will have no choice but to use all my power to protect those under my care."

The Digi-destined left quietly after that and a moment later Richard turned around and said to Teo. "We had best hurry, no doubt that there will be more Digimons and humans soon. Any currently in should be thoroughly checked and any coming in as well."

He walked over to Rena and with a big smile said. "Sorry, I think I made a mess" then he pointed to the pillar he smashed a minute ago and Rena couldn't help but laugh.

Regulumon had been around for some time and even fought with Teo before on several occasions which was why Richard went to see him and even though he was still concerned for Rena she insisted on following him which meant his yet unhatched children came along too.

Luckily Sakuyamon had a rather brilliant idea and swiftly gotten a push cart filled with hay so they would have an easier time carrying the eggs around.

On the way to the army HQ that Richard saw earlier he got the time to ask Sakuyamon why she was so happy she smiled and said. "They made me stronger so I'm not as weak as I was before, now I am a true Sakuyamon," and as she said this she changed her priestess healing charm into golden staff that all battle formed Sakuyamon had.

It was noon and getting to hot for training so they arrived just as Regulumon was sitting down to a large mug of what Richard guessed was beer or some sort, even though the mug was the size of a kitchen sink to match Regulumon's large stature.

"Hello my friends, join me and my group in a mug of the good stuff." Regulumon yelled as he saw them approach.

Regulumon had many strong companions with him including Fujinmon, GaurdiAngemon, Raijinmon, Justimon and various other Digimon but all of them had something in common. All of them were self proclaimed fighters and Champions of Justice.

Richard and Rena sat down with Regulumon and his group while Sakuyamon insisted on standing.

"So my new found friends what brings you here?" Regulumon asked. "Well we were hoping for your thoughts on the situation we are all currently facing, also I was hoping for a few stories of you and Rena's father." Richard said.

Regulumon mulled it over for a moment and said. "The situation isn't good, even among Digimon I've known for a long time are being divided by what is happening and I know that something is influencing Digimon on both sides. Whatever it is it clearly wants war."

"Let it bring war and I will tear it apart and wear its code upon my body." A voice came from above them.

Everyone but Regulumon looked up who simply said. "You might very well get your chance Darkdramon. So how was the business you had to take care of?"

Dropping from out of nowhere was a fearsome looking Digimon wearing just as fearsome looking blue armour with large 3 claw armaments on both arms.

"It went quite well the dark army shouldn't be bothering us for a little while." Darkdramon said with a wicked smile. After hearing that news Regulumon laughed and slapped Darkdramon on the back which ended up sending Darkdramon flying due to Regulumon's large size.

"You big oaf what have we been telling you about your strength!!" Darkdramon yelled after he got back up from about 30 feet away. "Yes, sorry about that." Regulumon replied with as innocent a smile as he could manage, but it just ended up looking like he was about to devour you whole.

They enjoyed the rest of the day talking, trading stories and generally having a good time.

It was an odd thing that Regulumon eyes kept looking towards the eggs but not only did Richard notice but also Rena did as well because a few moments later she said. "Would you like to hold one?"

Regulumon simply nodded and Richard couldn't help but smile and think that despite it all this oversized, fearsome looking and sometimes mistaken for looking evil Digimon he was really just softer then a marshmallow at times.

The giant Regulumon gently took up one of the eggs Rena held to him and he held it close to his eyes and then his ears and smiled.

"Such pure and innocent little ones, who would ever think such things could be harmful to anyone." he seemed to muse to himself. A moment later he remembered where he was so he handed back the egg to Rena.

Before they left Richard had one question for Darkdramon. "Darkdramon, you're a dramon destroyer aren't you?" Darkdramon gave a smirk and said. "The most powerful one in all of the Digital World." "Good because if things keep going as they are you will most likely be very busy." Richard told him and then he and the others left.

By the time they got back Rena was exhausted, her energy still not back to normal, so she and Sakuyamon retired to her room and Richard decided to train for a bit then maybe read a little.

Bloodseraphimon and Beelzemon both volunteered to help out. They were also lucky that the training ground had a large open area for more destructive training of sorts, which of course was exactly what happened.

Richard trained with Bloodseraphimon in close range attack and defense, while with Beelzemon he trained with long range attack and defense.

After a few days of this Richard learned several new techniques, most of which he kept secret from everyone else.

During his third day of training, he stopped during mid-day (noon) because it was too hot to continue. Wiping the sweat off his body with a towel and after taking a large drink of cold water, both he and Beelzemon were shirtless and more or less exhausted.

Richard had gotten stronger and stronger very quickly and was providing more and more of a challenge for Beelzemon and Bloodseraphimon, but one thing bothered Richard for a little while.

"How can you stand being in that armour in this heat?" Richard asked Bloodseraphimon. "Some Digimon, such as myself, is more at one with their armour. Also I am blessed by the powers of light and wind so heat and fire doesn't affect me as much as others do."

"Then I take it cold is more to your liking then" Richard said with a smirk.

They all shared a good hearty laugh like nothing at all was wrong with the world and for a time it wasn't. Beyond the light fighting of rouge Digimon or ones wanting to take advantage of the unrest everything was pretty peaceful for a few weeks.

However another army had started to move and this was made of creatures of corruption and shadow, twisted versions of Digimon.

The timing was bad at least personally for Richard because soon the eggs were supposed to hatch and this seemed liked some sort of plot but it was most likely just paranoia on Richards part but he was still wary.

With the emergence of such a dark presence more and more Digimon were wanting to join with Richard if for no other reason then safety or the fact that a demon army was more clearly necessary to fight then whether or not Richard and Rena should exist.

While this united much of the Digital World this became a huge problem as some didn't like one another and others really didn't want to take any orders from Richard.

"I will not take order from him." PrinceMamemon said sternly. He was just the latest of a group to enter Shadow Vale to join the army or rather to negotiate for entering it and while it has been relatively easy up to this point. PrinceMamemon had a good heart but he was high up on himself and didn't think much of some of the people he had to take orders from, luckily it wasn't Richard he had a problem with this time, either from the fact that he really didn't have a problem with it or from hearing that the last time someone out right refused to take orders from Richard.

Regulumon threw them through a window after Rena slapped them and they started to raise a hand to her.

PlieVolcamon also had an issue with Richard, until Richard became a towering form that made him look like a midget.

It became apparent that some didn't like Darkdramon and PrinceMamemon was no exception this time.

Those who were already in charge such as some of the Olyimpus Twelve and the demon lords (or rather former demon), also Regulumon and his team where there as well.

Darkdramon had a reputation for doing what he thought was right even though other might think of it as evil which despite his look it really wasn't.

"You will take orders from him because he will be taking orders from Regulumon and he will be taking orders from me." Richard said with a stern voice. Everyone was getting tired of sitting around with just hearing petty arguments and they all had been giving off signs like tapping feet/fingers or just plainly not paying attention.

"So now that is done and over with." Richard said while giving PrinceMamemon a glare. "Does anyone else have something important to say before we all leave for the day?" he finished saying.

Everyone else quickly left without saying a word and soon enough Richard was the last one still in the room.

He leaned back in the chair and let out a sigh of relief. "I never thought this could become so tiresome." Richard mused out loud. They had dealt with the details of the army and all they had to do was wait on the scout reports.

It was about fifteen minutes before Rena came in up behind Richard, gave him a long kiss and sat on his lap. No words were exchanged just a quiet moment together, until someone rushed in the room. It was Sakuyamon and she sounded frantic barely able to make words.

"Calm down, what is wrong?" Rena said as she and Richard stood up.

"Come quick, your children are hatching." Sakuyamon said and less than a second later there was a gust of wind from Richard and Rena running with all possible speed.

They got there with plenty of time as each one only had a tiny but visible crack in them.

Not long after they arrived the cracks quickly grew and soon almost all at once they all hatched.

All six of them had yellow hair like Rena but with a tinge of red like Richard's hair, but then the changes between each set of twin was more drastic. Each set of twin had one boy and girl, the first two looked human, the second set looked like a cross between a human and a Renamon with slightly more human features and the last two looked liked normal Renamon expect Digimon normally have a baby and rookie form first before looking like Renamon or in this case baby looking Renamon.

Before they started to cry Richard picked up four of them and Rena picked up two. They never thought of any names for them but both Richard and Rena couldn't help but smile at the little ones snuggling up into them almost instinctively.

There were no words spoken just a quiet moment as a family, at least until everyone else showed up.

Ameila and Lillymon where the first to arrive but they kept their distance until Rena told them it was ok to enter.

Like a couple of giddy kids they couldn't help but say how they looked so cute or how they reminded them of both Rena and Richard, in several but flattering ways.

This was a joyful time and while many wished to bring their congratulations to Richard and Rena but currently neither one wanted to be disturbed until they feed and clothed their set of new born children.

The children cried for awhile until they were fed and wrapped up in blankets. The only ones allowed to enter their room was immediate family and of cause Taomon and Sakuyamon who had to examine the children closely as normally human children needed milk that normally the mother provided. Luckily though despite how any of them looked they could be feed with bottles and since they seemed to be about the equivalent of a one year old that made things simpler.

By the time they were ready it seemed almost everyone wanted to see them and those who could fly were up in the air looking down on the front courtyard.

The guards were on high alert but nothing happened the whole time other than many greetings and congratulations.

That was until a Shurimon suddenly appeared in front of them and said. "My lords the dark army is heading this way with un-natural speed and will be here very shortly."

Suddenly there were whispers abound and within moments of hearing the news several had already left to prepare and for those who didn't Richard said with a large commanding voice. "Everyone to your stations and get ready to move out immediately."

Rena wanted to go with Richard into battle but the children were still too young and just recently born they still needed time with a parent at least.

Reluctantly she agreed and she knew Richard was needed more at the front of the battle then here.

By the time they were ready to leave the enemy had already started to enter the outer reaches of the forest far sooner than they should have been able to.

"Dam it. Everyone we have to move NOW!!!!" Richard yelled and just before he left he ordered Regulumon to take half the army and enforce the city as quickly as possible.

They barely made it into the middle of the forest before encountering the shadow army. They were twisted forms of Digimon to be sure but they also leaked a dark mist from all over their, what someone could only guess was, bodies.

Their attacks were unrelenting but somehow organized like something was telling them what to do but they seemed to be mindless themselves, like an ant colony and where there are ants there must be a queen controlling them.

Richard had little time to think about that as many seemed to be focused on him and even with his powers they weren't infinite and his more destructive abilities would most likely kill some of his own people as well as the enemy.

This enemy was far stronger than any they had faced before because where normally a Digimon might have an extremely devastating attack but with very short range like only within arm's reach, now that arm could stretch suddenly to reach its target and doing massive damage.

The enemy however had a rather large air force and after the fighting on the ground started the enemy air headed straight for the Renamon home.

"All airforces fall back to the ground and support the rest of the forces once I clear the air we are making a retreat back to home and meet up with the rest of our forces and lets hit them with our full strength." Richard said to a Sakuyamon, the reason being is that Sakuyamon could talk with others over long distances because of their abilities.

As Richard rose into the skies so too did everyone else go towards the ground.

He interlocked his hands and held them forward toward the enemy that was now in the air

White flame gathered around his hands and formed a giant dragon head and breathed a very long stream of fire that ignited all in the air.

He slowly turned it and left nothing untouched in the air, but this power was harder to control then it looked as he was trying not to set on fire anything below which could most likely be his own allies.

He looked below and dropped down like a rock on top of a group of shadow Digimon and they dissipated like mist blown away like a sudden fan.

He stayed back with a few other Digimon to cover the retreat of the others, this was dangerous because not only did they have to cover the retreat of everyone else but they also had to make sure not to get surrounded by the enemy.

It was because of all this that Richard and everyone else stuck with ranged attacks whenever possible. This was also a good opportunity to use one of his newest techniques he learned.

He waited until he was sure no one else was going to get caught in his attack and then he raised his hands high and gathered as much power as he could in the short time he hand and with a shout yelled. "Crushing Wave." and slammed his hands down to the ground.

A brilliant wave of blue flame quickly erupted in front of him and quickly fanned out towards the enemy.

This attack was different as it really didn't burn more then it crushed everything in front of it which of course was how Richard came up with the name.

As soon as he was satisfied he left after everyone else. He was exhausted though even with the powers he had he wasn't invincible and he knew he wouldn't last long if he had to fight a powerful opponent.

He made it with little time to spare as whatever was left of the shadow army was quickly catching up and the moment he jumped the main gate in spectacular fashion (which was a mistake as the moment he landed on the other side his exhaustion caught up with him and he fell to the ground) he heard someone yell. "Fire!!" and he noticed many Digimon launching attacks towards the forest.

Other then explosions he didn't hear a single yell or scream which meant either the enemy didn't get a chance to attack or they left but either way it meant they won for a brief moment.

Others had found him and helped him sit up and gave him water. It wasn't for a few moments until he noticed that the ones that helped him up were Bloodseraphimon and Venusmon.

"I had to use one of the new skills, but man I can tell you it really drained a lot out of me." Richard said as he started to stand up. "I don't doubt it but I did warn you about using them, after all they are different from your normal powers and don't tap directly into the raw energy you have in your possession." Bloodseraphimon said.

"Yeah I know.......so what are our losses." Richard asked in a dreadful tone like he never wanted to find out. "We lost a tenth of our number but the devastation would have been worse if you didn't leave half our number behind. The enemy sent a small group to another gate, one closer to our armies main camp but the moment they broke through they were quickly dispatched." Bloodseraphimon said.

It was a hard loss but he knew at least any civilians were safe.

Floating high up in the air above the clouds was a somewhat large figure wrapped up in a cloak covering its entire body and in a moment it dropped suddenly towards straight down towards a city which was its target.

Richard stood up and stretched a bit and drank some water which was handed to him a moment later. As he drank he looked up and saw something high in the sky and for a moment he thought it was one of the many Digimon that were in the sky right now but it quickly grew larger and it continued to fall with incredible speed.

Richard's power quickly erupted around him and he launched himself into the air and with speed as great as the cloaked figure was falling he himself was going up with the same speed.

As they got closer to each other he saw the figure and beyond knowing it was a Digimon he knew nothing else, even after their fists collided with each other creating a shock wave, which could only come from beings of equal strength squaring off.
