#2 of Clinging Onto a Hope of Happiness

I have to say, this one was kind of hard to write because they were in the house for the first half of the story. I'll have to make up some stuff... maybe character developement time. I don't think battle scenes are a strong point for me, but I dunno.

If there's characters that i mention that you don't know, go read Kyler's story, this is only a different perspective of the same thing.

The continuation of the side story to Sorrow and Joy. I hope whoever actually reads this likes it.

Fara lowered her pink ears as something loud and obnoxious starts playing. Suddenly it stops, and she could hear Kyler's voice scolding his child. She knew enough about Kyler to stand right next to him and talk to him like best buddies. She's still scared, though, of the way he might react if she started speaking to him as if she knew every detail about him.

She hears the water pipes turn on and she knows that they're taking another bathing break. She takes baths like most pokemon do in the wild, without pipes and without those things they call 'tubs.' She just cleans herself with her saliva, no problems at all. Her only problem is the jewel on her forehead, sometimes that's hard to clean without a little help. She likes to try to go near water to clean so that it's not that hard. There was never a water source too far away for her to run, she was stubborn when it came to making herself look good.

Fara had been following Kyler for at least three years now. She evolved into an espeon before he evolved while fighting Sabrina in Kanto. It was only a day in between the two. She evolved when she ended up in a fight with one of the ursaring that were looking for Kyler.

*Flashback*

Fara growled at the monstrous beast that was almost five times her size. The beast laughed at her for thinking she could win. She started with a dig move. She was hoping to confuse the enemy by coming up from behind a tree. When she came up carefully behind the tree, they were still looking around, waiting for her to pop out. She came up behind and used a bite. A perfect hit! The ursaring was bleeding already.

"Haha, you're quite tricky," the ursaring complimented. It was only a muse, for while Fara was distracted it hit her with a slash attack, but not roughly because she nearly dodged it. All that got out of her was a scratch. She staggered a little and then used frustration. The trainer had taught her this move, and it was perfect for her because she hated her trainer with all of her heart. She sliced away at the ursaring easily with this move, and it made her think a little bit about her old trainer. She did have some smart points. She knew what kind of move to teach her, she taught her some dirty little tricks.... It was then that she evolved.... Into a beautiful espeon.

She turned around and quickly flashed in a confusion attack, and that was the end of that ursaring.

*End Flashback*

Both of them evolved mid-battle. Her eyes watered a little bit, thinking about how she deserted her trainer. She shook it off and looked for some fish in the water. She didn't know back then that she could use telepathy as a psychic type, but she knew now how to do it and how useful it was. She could easily catch fish pokemon to eat by talking to them like she was their conscious. She was living a good life as a wild espeon., although she practically trained herself to follow Diane by this third year.

She walked back near the house, making sure to disguise her aura so Ry, a lucario that Diane trained, wouldn't notice her as anything but a wild pokemon. Then Kyler's angered voice caught her ears.

"You bastard! What the hell was that for?" It must have been much louder in the house, because she could hear it like he was standing right next to her, talking straight to her. She listened carefully and heard Ry say something like, "At least I didn't reach for the front!" and start laughing. Ry was.... stranger than the others. His mating preference was... different from most.

She followed Kyler one day, and it scared her when he bolted off straight past her. He looked quite embarrassed and she had to see what was going on. She peeped in the cave and saw Ry and a male Golduck....

After she saw that, she prodded back near the camp to see Kyler curled up in a ball, not saying anything about what had just happened.

She walked closer to the house, and peered into a window. She saw Kyler wincing in pain at the attack he had before taken from a monferno. She wished she could have used her recover on him. His eyes were red at this time, but it seemed like he was calming down.Vula and Spark had stopped him from attacking Ry, that is, for the time being.

Then she saw Kyler apologizing. Apologizing? For what? He didn't do anything wrong... Maybe he won't be too hard to talk to, now.... She shook the thought off, realizing that it could only be because Ry and Alex were friends. Suddenly, steam started pouring out of the bathroom. She quickly ducked her head, making sure nobody would see her while they looked around to the bathroom. Suddenly she heard Diane yell "Spark, Vula, Ry! Get him before he escapes!" She peered back up through the window again, to see Alex darting through the room and through the door.

Fara decided she would run after the eevee for a moment, leaving Kyler off in the room with a little bit of privacy. She made sure she didn't invade too much on their privacy, but she definitely did invade on it. And oh she did. Sometimes she also got to see Vula and Spark mating, or the team getting bathed. It never made sense to her why they made windows if they weren't to be looked through, and they put those windows in the bathroom, too!

While she was following that eevee, she decided she would help out and use a little bit of telepathy.

"Slow down," she acted as Alex's conscience. Obediently, he slowed down a little, only to get caught by Vula and Spark.

She heard a quiet yelp from the house, it sounded like something startled Kyler. She ran back and looked through the window for a good look. It must have just been cold water because there was nothing in that room but him and Diane. Diane said something really quite about the anniversary of somebody's death. Even after three years she couldn't figure out who's death it was, but she could barely hear Kyler say "I know, the anniversary of their deaths."

She continued cleaning him and said "I know, but we always did something when it came around and I figured we should come back for a special occasion like this. Evy and Richie are coming." Kyler's ears perked. "And they're bringing Mich, too." Kyler's facial expression changed.

"You think they'll remember what happened three years ago? I mean, what happened between me and Mich...." He looked hopeful and kind of scared to confront them.

"You should start working on your 'I'm sorry' speach because they're going to be there in a few days." She finished cleaning where she was going to, and got a towel off of the cupboard and dried him off. He cringed a little when she started drying his lung area. She opened the door after she was done drying him off and they left the bathroom.

Fara walked around to the other window so she could see what was going on inside the house from elsewhere. Vula, Spark, and Ry were coming back now with Alex in the middle of the triangle, keeping him from running away. She got back before them because she didn't have to worry about keeping hold of that squirrely eevee so she could run back.

Kyler then went to sleep, and Fara decided she would go into the woods and get a nice night of sleep in, too. But she bumped into someone before claiming a spot to sleep...
