Zion - Light of the New Moon Chapter 3.0

Welcome back to Zion: Light of the New Moon. Chapter 2 has come to a close and the second set of Event Arcs are completed. At this point it's time for some more reader interaction!

Readers may contribute fan art/stories until the midnight (PST) on Friday the 8th. The contributions should be linked in comments below. Any contribution may be dedicated to a group (to add +1 Luck or Favor). No Group may benefit from more than 3 Luck and/or 10 Favor via this post for contributions. Contributions may also be credited to a specific character (for +1 experience). A contributing reader may apply a bonus to their own character a maximum of two times (one picture and one written piece), but may contribute as many as they wish to others. A character may not gain more than 5 experience in this way via this post for contributions.

As of the completion of Chapter 2, each group uses 3 Favor for the three posts that took pace-- Doen is the exception, having received use of the Wayside at the end of the third chapter.

The current breakdown of Group Favor and Luck are as follows: Bannihar has 5 Luck and 17 Favor. Doen has 5 Luck and 15 Favor. Myre has 5 Luck and 15 Favor. Myrh has 7 Luck and 23 Favor. Shrad has 4 Luck and 15 Favor.

All readers may now vote for which group they think should receive a bonus Favor point. You may vote for any group you like for any reason you like (even your own if you're a Contributing Reader), but only one group will receive the bonus, and you may only vote once (not once per site).

Non-Contributing readers also have the opportunity to vote on the character they think should receive a bonus experience point. Every reader may vote on any group in which they don't have a contributed character. One character per group will receive this bonus, but only if they receive at least 3 votes (this means that a lack of votes won't benefit anyone).

The next set of Event Arcs are now votable again to contribute to the storyline for the various five groups. You may vote for which group gets what Event Arc but, if you are a contributing reader you may NOT place a vote for a group in which you have a character; you may only vote for other groups. The options are as follows:

Get to Da'Cho Pah A small tribe of Orgs, lead by a powerful shaman named Pah have been terrorizing travelers on a stretch of the Highway. In order to pass safely, the caravan is going to be inconvenienced, either by finding a new path, or clearing the road. It is up to the group to find and defeat the tribe's shamanistic Da'Cho (Orgish for Leader). Complexity: 2 Success: + Willpower, + Treasure Failure: - Luck, - Willpower Story Seeds: - New, - Wild, + Earth Modifier: Reader Decision (Readers may elect to spend 1 Luck to gain a supporting character) if successful.

Your GP or Your HP Sometimes the danger of the Wild Lands comes from a perfectly mundane source. Bandits are an excellent example of one such danger. A particularly lethal stretch of Highway is known for the bandit attacks that take place on a regular basis. Hopefully the caravan will be on its guard and manage to get through without any significant losses. Complexity: 3 Success: + Willpower, + Luck, + Treasure Failure: -2 Luck Story Seeds: + New, - Wild, - Earth Modifier: Reader Decision (Readers may elect to spend 1 Luck to gain a supporting character) if successful.

The Killing Fields An open field is good for many reasons: it provides visibility and allows for awareness of one's surroundings. On the downside, it becomes a dangerous battleground when one's foes strike at them from the air. How will the group handle an attack on the caravan by a ravenous swarm of Stab-Bills? Complexity: 3 Success: + Willpower, SPECIAL Failure: - willpower, - luck Story Seeds: +Wild, + Earth, + Serpent Modifier: NIL

Graceless City Dwellers aren't the only ones to fall prey to the insidious drug known as Grace. What happens when the party meets up with a group of Wild Landers suffering from its deadly, psychodelic, psychotic withdrawals? Complexity: 3 Success: + Willpower, SPECIAL (based on city) Failure: - Willpower, - Luck Story Seeds: + Dawn, + New, +Earth Modifier: Special conditions modify this encounter based on the city involved. Myre, due to the addition of Grace is the obvious one to point out.

The Moonless Night Death in the Wild Lands is expected; it comes to everyone eventually. When the bodies begin moving again, however... that's when the real problems start. Complexity: 3 Success: + Willpower, ++ Favor Failure: - Willpower, - Luck Story Seeds: + Dawn, + Sun, + Mist Modifier: contributing readers may elect to increase the Complexity of this encounter by 1. If they choose to do so then they are also awarded + Treasure as a bonus if successful.

The Herp Derp It seems almost a crime against the divine that Draconids could have so many of the noble Dragons' strengths and yet lack the sophistication and mental prowess of their greater kin. To make matters worse, the caravan is set upon by some very hungry ones. Complexity: 4 Success: Willpower, Treasure, Special Failure: Luck, Willpower Story Seeds: ++ Serpent, + Sun Modifier: NIL

So now's your chance to vote for what Story Arc should go to which group. If you're not a contributing reader you have even more power-- make use of it! Votes and story/art contributions must be posted before midnight (PST) on Thursday, July 7th. (That is correct-- the cut-off time is Thursday, not Friday). You are now welcome to ask questions and/or start your contributions!

Chapter 3 has come to a close and Chapter 4 is soon to follow.

A new Event Arc for each party means a new vote. Make sure you get your votes and contributions in by Thursday, July 7th-- you have until midnight (pst)... and yes, you heard right: Thursday!

I also advise going back to check on all of the individual chapters if you're a contributing reader-- some of you have group votes in which to take part!
