~ Chapter 15 ~

A delivery-man was hauling crates of some unknown produce from the back of a gray van belatedly marked with the name and logo of some obscure company. Two detectives in long trenchcoats, one old with slicked-back hair and the other a decade younger showing vitality in his eyes that would soon match the elder's tired alertness; like a lion sunning himself before a herd of gazelle. With their badges safely stowed, they stood and asked questions to the delivery-man whose answers were obscure enough to tag him for further questioning later on in the episode.

I played with Aaron's chest-fur as we laid together on his couch watching t.v. At this time of evening, there usually wasn't much on besides cop dramas, forensic shows, and other seemingly legitimate crime stories with outlandish plot twists mingled in with contemporary storylines that vaguely borrow enough information from current headlines as to fend off complaints of infringement or insensitivity. My head rested on his neck, slightly feeling his pulse.

Slowly, minding my movements as to not disturb Aaron, I reached for the remote.

"Mmhrmmphgh..." an unintelligble grumble exhaled its self from the body next to me.

"No you're not," I replied back, "You're sleeping."

Aaron lazily raised his left arm and flicked me off.

Wiggling my arm from under us, I swatted him with my right hand, as much as my wrist could bend. "C'mere." I pressed my hands into him, firmly trying to get him to turn towards me. Groaning as he did so, Aaron laid back down with a sigh and looked at me, tiredly. Amused at his effort, I kissed him.

"The thing with these cop shows -" I began.

"Fuck off and let me enjoy something for once without turning it into a debate," Aaron growled.

Shocked but amused, I laughed aloud. "Okay, okay," I smiled at him.

The detectives were now checking out a librarian at a public library. Long before this, the actual crime and plot disappeared into white noise as my attention waned from it to Aaron. I shuffled myself from the back of the couch to straddling Aaron's stomach.

I slid my hips backwards and bent forward on my knees and forearms until I was stroking his hair and grinding myself into him. I stared into his eyes for another second before retreating downward and resting my head on his chest. His erection grew under his shorts and pressed up towards me,

The detectives had finished with the librarian and the scene changed to the inside of a police station. My mind changed to Bo and Kat's words to me. My stomach soured a little.

"What's wrong?" Aaron asked, "Your fur's standing up."

Embarrassed, I realized that his hands had wrapped around me and fur on both the back of my neck and my back had started to stand up. A prickling sensation of static electricity over me subsided and I felt myself coming down.

"Just a chill, that's all," I lied.

"It's boiling in here," Aaron's eyes looked at me, speculating, "The fan's on and the windows are open."

"Must've just been a draft," I willed myself to keep calm.

Aaron gave me a quick squeeze and turned back to the glow of the tv with fresh eyes.

I thought about Bo again, this time with much less tension. I didn't remember hearing too much about a killing in a warehouse last year, but to parse Kat, I didn't know what to look for. Sure enough the detectives returned to the deliveryman and my mind returned to the librarian. If there was a report about it, the news would have some article either in the paper or online. I decided to make a trip to the library the next morning or whenever to see if I could find anything.

I stretched upward, my back starting to ache in the crouched position. Aaron's arms locked around me, holding me from going any farther. I looked down at him in concern. He had a mischievous grin on his face. He pressed his hips upward, forcing his erection against me.

"Oh," I smiled.
