Chapter 6: Towards...something unknown?

Ok, so in chapter 5 Terran was having a bad dream, so what is it about then? Oh and how will everything turn out with the pairs? Fliva and Terran seems safe, so does Noctus and Zepher but what about the rest? And what is Ciff supposed to do if Boltwire gets a girlfriend? Well, by the time you are reading this I'm done writing it so...go ahead and read, maybe you will find the answers.

Terran was in deep sleep but he turned around and was cold-sweating, he was having a nightmare of the time Zepher was in prison. He was in a dark and cold place, the air was heavy and the light was dim. It took a moment for Terran to understand where he was, and then he understood that he was in the prison where Zepher were in jail. Then it darkened and the walls seemed to draw closer until it was in the size of a cell. Then Terran noticed someone sitting on a small bed; it was to dark to see who it was.

"Zepher?" Terran asked while he slowly walked closer.

"What are you doing here Terran? I told the guard I didn't want any visitors, especially not you!" Zepher said. Terran felt like he had been stabbed in the back with a tail-blade, he was just standing there, thoughts spinning around in his head. "You mean, you don't want to see me? But you need me! I can feel that you are not doing well! Are you sure I cannot be here just for a minute?" Terran pleaded.

"No, I thought I was perfectly clear that I don't want to see you!" Zepher yelled. "You must understand that I was just playing with you all these years, because you are so weak, and carefree. I hate to see you smile and bounce around being happy all the time but I couldn't do anything about it because you are my brother." Zepher said and the he started to laugh, and Terran just stood there, going blank. His entire world crumbled to pieces. "You are lying!" Terran yelled. "Zepher would never say something like that! Where is the real Zepher? Where is my real brother?" Terran yelled, he was denying what Zepher told him.

"Oh right, I also hate to make pancakes to you, and that you constantly cuddle me. Oh, and you don't have a chance to get that stupid yellow dragoness to like you, she probably hates you as much as I do. And it is your fault that I am imprisoned." Zepher said, as he took forth a piece of metal, and put it to his throat. "Zepher? Big bro, what are you doing?" Terran asked worried. Then Zepher began to laugh. "This is all your fault, you have driven me to this." Zepher said as he cut his throat in front of his little brother, making a gush of blood paint Terran's front. Dropping dead in front of his little brother, in a pool of his own blood. Terran couldn't stand more; he started to shout right out.

Terran woke up by someone shaking him, he didn't quite see who it was but he heard a distant voice yelling at him. "Terran, wake up it's just a dream!" Zepher yelled, worried about his younger brother. "Zepher!" Terran yelled and hugged his older brother tight, making him tip over and fall into Terran's bed. "Wow, easy there lil bro, I don't want to crush you." Zepher said with a laugh. "I don't care, just as long as you promise we will always be together." Terran cried.

"Of course I promise that Terran, what happened in the nightmare that could make you so upset?" Zepher asked

"I dreamed that I visited you in prison...and...that you killed yourself with a piece of metal!" Terran answered, crying rivers with tears. "Oh Terran, it's over now, I won't die, I'm right here with you." Zepher said in a mild, carrying voice as he comforted his younger brother.

"It was horrible! If there's even a chance of dreaming about something like that again I will never fall asleep again!" Terran shouted as he still cried.

"I know Terran, I know, but it was just a dream and dreams can't hurt you." Zepher said calmly. "I know, but it seemed so real." Terran said the crying ebbed down to sobs.

"And you know I wouldn't kill myself, because who would then make pancakes to you in the morning?" Zepher asked with a quiet laugh.

"Ye, that's true." Terran emitted, he had almost stopped crying.

"But now we should go back to sleep again." Zepher said as he kissed Terran goodnight on the forehead. "Big bro, can you sleep beside me tonight?" Terran asked, as he began to sob again bit. "Of course." Zepher answered and lay down beside Terran. Terran sighed happily and hugged Zepher close and soon fell asleep. But Zepher lay waken and thought of the shiv he made in prison. But soon he too fell asleep, again.

Because of the disturbances during the night the two brothers were really tired, so they both slept good and long. When it closed up to midday both Zepher and Terran were disturbed in their dreams by an annoying voice calling on them. "Hey, wake up you two." The two brothers let out a long yawn and stretched, before Zepher reacted to that someone else then Terran just had woke him up. So as any normal dragon, he got up to identify the source. When he got out in the kitchen he saw Hypter sitting at the table, almost expecting him. "Hypter, how did you get in here...and why are you here?" Zepher asked confused.

"Well, it's soon midday and since I hadn't heard from any of you, I was worried so I decided to come and check on you. And I simply froze the lock on the door...now that I think if it, it might not have been the best solution." Hypter said with a laugh.

"Wait...you destroyed the door to get in here?!" Zepher outburst.

"I'm just pulling your tail Zeph, don't worry. I just used my ice to lock it open from the inside." Hypter said.

"So you broke into my apartment just to wake me up?" Zepher asked annoyed.

"Yeah and to check you were ok, oh and by the way, Noctus and Fliva are in the next room." Hypter replied. "They are? But why?" Zepher asked surprised.

"Yeah, I saw them on the way here, apparently they were also a bit worried so I just asked if they wanted to make me company. Which they gladly wanted." Hypter answered.

"They where worried about us?" Zepher asked with a mix between blush and smile on his face. "Indeed but we can't let the girls see you like this now, can we? While you and Terran go and fresh yourselves up, I will make some...pancakes, if I'm not wrong, that is Terran's favourite dish, yes?" Hypter asked with a grin.

"Yes but...how did you know?" Zepher asked confused.

"I have psychic powers but I rarely use them, so don't worry." Hypter said with a smile.

"Ye right, and snow is green." Zepher said and rolled his eyes.

"I can make some if you want, it's easy, just watch." Hypter said as he brought a green flame to his claws on his right front paw and made a ball of ice in his other. Then he gently scratched the ice ball with the claws. Making small flakes of green ice fall to the floor and melt. "It's not as easy for me as it looks but with practice anything is possible." Hypter said with a laugh. Zepher just starred at him. "I'll wake Terran up while you take a shower. Now off you go." Hypter said while making a gesture to Zepher to get moving.

"Ye, ye, just don't scare him, he had kind of a rough night." Zepher said as he walked to the shower, receiving a nod from Hypter.

Hypter walked into the bedroom where Terran where still asleep. Hypter actually let out a small giggle at the sight, almost feeling sorry to have to disturb Terran's sleep, almost. "Terran, it's time to wake up." Hypter said with a, as best as he could, mild voice. Receiving a grunt from Terran, so Hypter walked closer and repeated what he just said, receiving the same reaction. Which kind of pissed Hypter off, since he didn't really like to repeat himself. "Terran, you better wake up now or I will make sure you wake up." Hypter said, as he got even closer but only to receive the same respond. "Well, suit yourself then." Hypter said, as he drew out some water from the air and dropped it in Terran's bed. Of course it was ice cold, making Terran bounce up with a shout. "What the Malefor was that?" Terran yelled.

"I tried to wake you up but you didn't respond, so I thought the cold water would wake you up." Hypter explained, Terran just stared at him.

"What are you doing here Hypter? And where is Zepher?" Terran asked, as he shock of the water. "I just came to check on you two, and Zeph is in the shower." Hypter answered.

"But why didn't you let Zepher finish his shower so he could wake me up?" Terran asked.

"Because I wanted to have the pancakes done as soon as possible." Hypter answered with a smile. "Pancakes? Are you gonna make pancakes?" Terran asked, wagging his tail.

"Yes, Zepher told me you liked it, and I think Fliva likes it too." Hypter replied.

"I bet she does, I mean, who doesn't?" Terran asked, and then went through what Hypter said once more in his mind. "Wait...is Fliva here?" Terran asked as he blushed and his eyes turned green. "Yes she is, she is in the other room, and if you go in there I will start making the pancakes." Hypter said as he began to walk towards the kitchen with Terran following behind but Terran continued to the living room instead of the kitchen. "There's my Tewwie, oh you got me worried when you didn't show up." Fliva said as Terran enter the room.

"Oh, I'm sorry...wait, did you just call me Tewwie?" Terran asked surprised at the nickname.

"Yes I did, it fits you so good." Fliva giggled as she walked forth to Terran and circled him a time before tackling him to the ground and tickled him. "Who's my little dwaggy?" She asked as she kept tickling him. "I'm your little dwaggy." Terran replied screaming of laughter.

"Yes you are, you are my good little dwaggy." Fliva said with a laugh as she stopped to tickle Terran and just lay on him and cuddled with him. Which caused Noctus to giggle but the two dragons didn't notice because they where busy cuddling with each other and purring.

But they were interrupted when Hypter yelled; "Pancakes ready!" Which caused both Terran and Fliva to start to struggle to get up because they both seemed to love pancakes. Noctus just sighed and got up from the sofa and just walked past the struggling dragons, getting first out to the kitchen. "What in the world is that?" Noctus outburst when she saw what was on the table. "Pancakes, I didn't say it would be healthy." Hypter replied with a laugh.

"It's...pure perfection." Terran said when he saw what was on the table.

"Well thank you, I hoped you would like it, it's usual pancakes with strawberry ice cream on top on that and then syrup. It's not healthy...but it tastes awesome." Hypter said with a smile. "But I'm afraid Zepher and Noctus will have to share plate, and Terran and Fliva too, and I'll just eat from the frying pan because of the lack of plates." Hypter said.

"Did I hear someone mentioning my name?" Zepher asked when he stepped out in the kitchen, still a little wet from the shower. "Zepher, you got me so worried." Noctus said as she stood up and walked over to hug him. "Y-you where worried about me?" Zepher asked and blushed and the mark on his right shoulder began to glow. "Of course I was, who wouldn't be? I mean it would be horrible if something happened to that cuddly fur of yours." Noctus said, but when she where about to hug Zepher she slipped on the water that had dripped from his fur. Zepher tried to prevent Noctus from falling but was only pulled with in the fall. Now Noctus were on her back against the floor and with Zepher directly on top of her, both blushing heavily. "Oh come on, kiss each other already, it's so obvious you both want to." Hypter sighed; both Zepher and Noctus blushed even deeper. But then Noctus lay her front legs around Zepher's neck and pulled him into a kiss. After a couple of seconds they broke the kiss and Zepher helped Noctus up from the floor, both strolling over to the table, with their tails intertwined. Terran and Fliva had already begun eating and was about to finish, when they were about to take the last piece of pancake their muzzles met, making both blush but neither of them pulled away.

It knocked on the door, Zepher went to open it and at first he didn't recognise the grey dragon that was covered with brown bags. "Hi there Zepher, by the ancestors you have gown! You're almost as big as I am, how's it going?" The grey dragon asked, Zepher immediately recognised that voice, it was... "Clay!" Zepher outburst, making Terran jump up from his seat, breaking the kiss with Fliva. "Did you just say Clay?" Terran asked with a voice squeaky with happiness running to the door where Clay stood and hugged him closely, causing Clay to chuckle. "That's right Terran, wow you have grown since we last saw each other, soon I will be the one hugging your chest." Clay said with a laugh.

"Oh you're just saying that." Terran said with a smile.

"But I'm not here because of pleasantries unfortunately, I was sent here from our village to inform the guardians about two villain dragons. They said I would most likely find you here, we are ordered to leave immediately and I shall inform you on the way there." Clay said urgent. "Ok, so...I'm supposed to go back to the village I got banned from to help them?" Zepher asked annoyed. "Not directly, the two dragons seem to have their nest or whatever it was called just about two weeks from here. But now we must go, we have a few more dragons to find." Clay answered.

"I'm coming with you. And Terran, now you can use your armor. And I suppose there is provisions in the bags." Hypter said and got up from the table.

"That is correct, that's why there is so many bags." Clay said with a laugh.

"Right! I'll fetch it right away." Terran said and ran to his room and back in a second, with his armor on. "Now I'm ready to kick some butt!" Terran said, causing Zepher to laugh a bit but stopped when Terran glared at him.

"We are coming too." Noctus and Fliva said simultaneously.

"No, it's to dangerous, you two will stay here in Warfang, and we will be back in just a month. Maybe we bring something back to you for waiting." Zepher said with a smile, both females disliked the idea but didn't argue.

"Now we better go and get the others, every second we spend with chatting is a wasted second." Clay said.

"Ok, which are the other dragons we shall go and get then?" Hypter asked while following Clay outside. "Geena and Boltwire." Clay answered.

"But Geena is way to young!" Zepher outburst. "She can get hurt!"

"Those are the orders, I'm sorry Zeph." Clay said.

"Screw the orders, she aren't coming with us." Zepher said angry.

"Who isn't coming with you?" Geena asked from behind the four dragons.

"You, little cousin." Zepher said with a sigh.

"Why? What's up?" Geena asked, only getting more curious.

"We are on a dangerous mission, it's nothing for girls." Terran said with his head up high.

"Danger? Ha, I walk on the wild side. I laugh in the face of danger " Geena said with a laugh. Zepher just sighed, admitting his defeat. "So, where will we head first? We surely can't just sleep outside the whole week, can we?" Geena asked unsure about if she wanted to come with if they should sleep on the ground for a month. No, don't worry, in one weeks time to the north there is a village where a team of our own dragons are waiting.

"I will go and fetch Boltwire, you guys continue, I'll catch up to you later." Hypter said and shifted into his guardian form, receiving a nod from Clay and took away towards Boltwire's apartment.

When Hypter arrived at Boltwire's apartment he saw that Boltwire was out and practiced his attacks with Ciff sitting and watching. So Hypter made a quick landing beside Boltwire, who stopped his practice for a moment. "Hi Hypter, wanna practice a little?" Boltwire asked.

"Boltwire told me everything about you man, you really must show me some of your cool attacks, literally cool." Ciff said energetic.

"Wow, you don't stutter anymore, how come?" Hypter asked stunned.

"What? Oh the stutter, it's only when I'm nervous." Ciff smiled.

"I see, but we have no time for that. Boltwire, we have been called in to help the smaller villages from two evil dragons, we'll get more information later. So tell your mother that we are taking off immediately." Hypter said calmly.

"But can't Spyro and Cynder take it instead? Or someone else? I know it sounds like I don't care but I'm not the hero type" Boltwire said.

"Oh nonsense my dear Boltwire, you and I...you will take me on your horns and then we'll take wings towards the danger." Ciff said with an exaggerated heroic voice.

"He have a point, we are the only dragons that are fit to fight. Spyro and Cynder are on a visit to the dragon temple to fix it and so are the others...I guess we didn't get the information because of the last 'incident" Hypter explained.

"Hi guys, what are you doing?" Phoenix said as she descended on the ground.

"Nothing much, we were just about to leave on a mission." Ciff said.

"Were not." Boltwire responded with a yawn.

"Oh can I come with?" Phoenix asked.

"Eh Phoenix, I don't think it's safe for you to come with." Hypter said a bit nervous.

"Not safe? Are you worried that I might get hurt?" Phoenix asked with a sly grin, walking towards Hypter, making him back away. "Yes, of course I am. But why are you not at the dragon temple with the others?" Hypter asked, as he backed up against a house wall.

"Volteer said it was voluntarily and since I love bigger cities I wanted to stay here in Warfang. And besides, I'm not that defenceless." Phoenix said as she kissed Hypter on the forehead, making him blush hard. Then she coiled her tail behind Hypter's legs, and then she pulled it to the side, making Hypter fall flat. "Ugh...well, I guess I should have seen that coming." Hypter groaned as he slowly got up from the ground.

"Yea, you kind of asked for it." Phoenix said with a grin.

"Easy there, can't you two wait with all this fuzzy love stuff till after the mission?" Ciff asked with a laugh. "Fuzzy love stuff eh? I just tripped him! How is that fuzzy, you little fur ball?" Phoenix asked annoyed. "Love starts with a fight, or something like that. It's something I've heard anyway." Ciff said and pointed at Phoenix and Hypter making a heart symbol with his paws. Hypter cleared his throat and said "Yeah, right, we are already behind so I suggest that those who are coming with fly and tell their parents about it and get back here in five. I'll be waiting here and when everybody is here I'll get into my guardian form and we will catch up to the others in no time."

"I'll be back here in two." Phoenix said and took off.

"C'mon Boltie, let's tell your mom we'll be going to kick some butt!" Ciff said exited and jumped up on Boltwire's head and pulled his horns so he would move forward. "Alright, alright I will go, take it easy with my horns Ciff." Boltwire said in complain.

And as Phoenix said, she returned in two minutes. "Okay, I'm back, as I said it would only take two minutes." Phoenix said as she descended on the grass. Hypter was lying on his stomach and relaxing, trying to get some warmth from the grass that had been warmed up by the sun. But got up when Phoenix descended. "So...they let you go on the mission I assume. That was unexpected..." Hypter said when Phoenix sat down beside him.

"Well, I knew they would let me go, I'm not a little girl anymore." Phoenix said with a superior tone. "Alright, how old are you then?" Hypter asked.

"I'm sixteen years old, how old are you then? Like you would be older then me" Phoenix said with a confident laugh, thinking that she was the oldest of her friends except her sister. "I'm seventeen and a half years old." Hypter said with a smile. Phoenix's confident smile made a loop and crashed. "Y-your fifteen? Your older then me..." Phoenix said a bit disappointed.

"Yup, so you must do as I say during the mission." Hypter said with a huge smile pasted on his face. "What's going on here? Not more of the fuzzy stuff I hope." Ciff said, pointing his claws at his mouth and making a disgusted face. "Oh stop it Ciff, or you might not be allowed to come with us. After all that is Hypter's decision." Boltwire said with a grin. Ciff just gulped and got his disgusted expression replaced with a nervous one. "Sorry captain Hypter, I didn't mean it." Ciff said.

"It's okay Ciff, this time. And I'm not a captain, I'm a general. But never mind that now, let's get going." Hypter said as he got into his guardian state. "Now jump up on my back and we'll catch up with the others in no time. I think you all three will be able to sit there, or maybe Ciff want to sit at my horns?" Hypter asked.

"Oh that's awesome!" Ciff said and quickly ran up to Hypter's horns. "Wow, I can see everything from here, it's like being in a tree or something." Ciff said exited.

"Alrighty then hold on tight, here we go!" Hypter said as he took off.

After about an hour Hypter and his passengers caught up with Clay and the others. "You said that you would give us information about the team on the way, start talking then captain." Hypter said. "Yes, right, well the team is consisting of six dragons. Four dragons and two dragonesses. The males are Drew, an earth dragon, the team leader and head fighter. Zumack, also an earth dragon, who is the medic. Lyorenth, a shadow dragon, he is the spy that sometimes work under cover or scouts areas. And Jasper, another shadow dragon, who is the tactician of the team and back up for the fighters. Then we have the girls, Kuira, which is a light dragoness, she is the cook and second medic of the team. Then the last one, Nora, she is a water dragoness, and is the second fighter in the group." Clay explained.

"Cool, it will be nice to meet them all, but who will we fight against?" Hypter asked.

"Right, we shall fight an evil shadow dragoness, Syrinia and her companion Zaroke, a shadow dragon. What we know, Zaroke is corrupted by Syrinia and shall not be killed, and he is also Jasper's older brother. Syrinia no one knows where she came from or why she is doing this. All we know is that we shall stop her and retrieve Zaroke, one way or another. That is why we wanted back up." Clay explained.

"Wonderful, so we shall handle Syrinia while your team take Zaroke, that sounds fair." Zepher said ironically.

"Well at least we get the fighting!" Ciff said enthusiastic.

"We will plan this carefully later, with the other group, but for now we better find somewhere to rest, it's getting dark. And before we get everything up it will be pitch black if we don't hurry." Hypter said, the others nodding in agreement.

"I'll check the area, just stay here for a minute an I'll be back." Zepher said, smoothly darting around the area because of his feathers. After a minute he returned and said, "I think I found a good place, it's a cave in a cliff, it's big enough for all of us." Zepher said with a smile.

"Who said my name?" Ciff asked jokingly.

"No I said cliff, not Ciff." Zepher answered, a bit tired and not directly in mood for a joke.

"Yes, very funny Ciff, Zepher show us to the cave so that we can get ready to sleep. It's late and I bet we all are tired from the flight." Hypter said.

"Alright, just follow me then." Zepher said and took off towards the direction the cave was at.

When everybody arrived at the cave they noticed that, just as Zepher said, it was large and that they could easily be in the cave at the same time. It was dark of course but that could easily be fixed with some wood and a fire breath. "Hey Zeph, could you go and gather some wood?" Clay asked, as he started to unload all the bags from his back.

"Yeah sure, I was planning to take a walk anyway." Zepher answered as he went outside.

So Zepher went outside and began to walk into the small forest that surrounded the mountain. He sighed a bit as he began to pick up dry branches that would be used for the fire. He put the branches on his back between his wings and dwelled into deep thoughts. "They still want me dead, don't they? That's why they requested my help with this, it's not enough for me to live in a other town, they will only be satisfied when they can spit and dance on my dead body." Zepher thought, then he realized that he must have been sitting there for a while when he heard Terran calling for him. "But I won't give them that pleasure." Zepher thought and got up and headed towards the source of Terran's voice. "Oh Zepher, where were you? I got worried when you didn't come back." Terran said and gave his big bro a hug.

"I'm okay bro, you worry about me to much." Zepher said with a smile. "Or does he?" Zepher thought as they headed back to the cave. When they arrived at the cave the others where sitting and eating fruit salad in the darkness. "Whops, sorry I forgot the time when I was out in the forest." Zepher said.

"Well, now that we have some wood for the fire, let's light it then." Phoenix said and got up from her sitting position. "No, that won't be necessary miss, we shall sleep now anyway." Clay said and took the wood from Zepher's back and put it against the cave wall. "But I'm not sleepy yet." Phoenix protested.

"Yes, that might be true, but we still can't have any dragonesses running around in the middle of the night." Hypter said with a smile.

"Humph, well okay then, I will go to sleep, Geena, shall we take the space furthest into the cave?" Phoenix asked.

"Okay" Geena answered with a smile and bounced towards the end of the cave and then lay down. The rest of the team followed Geena's example, well except the bouncing part. Soon they were all sleeping, except one dragon, which lay sleepless.

After a while, the dragon got up and slowly but surely avoided to awake or step on anyone else. Hypter was sleeping closest to the exit, this was a tricky situation. Taking the chance to pass Hypter, who always were on his guard or to go back? No, the answer was forward, and out. But how to get pass Hypter without "ZzzzZzzzz" Hypter was snoring loudly, there wouldn't be a problem to get pass him. So the dragon continued to sneak and made it out without waking someone up. So, with the newfound freedom the dragon decided to fly up a bit on the mountain to stargaze. The stars truly were beautiful on the night sky, glistening like diamonds. After a while of stargazing the dragon suddenly felt a paw on her shoulder and flinched. Turning around to see who touched her shoulder. "Hiya Phoenix, don't worry it's just me." Hypter said calmly, with a smile.

"Oh Hypter, you scared me." Phoenix said and turned back to gazing the stars. "But what are you doing here anyway? I thought you were asleep." Phoenix asked.

"Oh come on, like I would snore like that." Hypter said.

"Well, half my family does so I didn't find it unusual." Phoenix replied.

"Now I understand why you are not tired at the night, you are up late every night, aren't you?" Hypter asked.

"Yeah, more or less...why?" Phoenix asked.

"Because I won't allow that during this mission, so off to the cave with you and get back to sleep. We better be rested tomorrow because we have a long flight tomorrow." Hypter said with a smile. "Yeah...you're right." Phoenix said with a smile as they went back to the cave. "Well...goodnight." Phoenix said and walked into the cave.

"Goodnight Phoenix." Hypter said and lie down, and fell asleep after a few minutes.

Meanwhile, two weeks flight ahead, in a close to castle liking building a shadowy figure sat and planned the next village to strike. Smiling to herself, in an evil way of course, with pure malice burning in her eyes...
