"We need to send them a message." Said General Ahriel. One of his aides looked up at him.

"What do you want it to say, sir?" The general shot the aide a strange look.

"Not that type of message, we need to attack them, call in my staff." The aide saluted and rushed to get the high ranking officers.

"We should only send a small force, they'd see us massing if we sent anything larger than say...a company." Said Major Ahuv, who commanded the battalion they were going to siphon troops out of.

"Good, we'd need to send anti armor personnel, and good marksmen as well, the Lebanese have a tendency to send in as much armor as they can get their paws on." General Ahriel smiled.

"Do you have a target in mind, Major?" Major Ahuv looked at the map of Lebanon that hung on the wall, speckled across the border were symbols indicating Lebanese troop strength.

"Border Post 11 looks pretty clear of Lebanese troops, according to your map they only have three tanks and two companies of infantry."

"That is true, but when we take the Border Post we will still be outnumbered, and we want to avoid sending in gunships, or artillery for fear of actually sparking a full on war. If my plan goes correctly we will just bloody Lebanon's nose and hopefully scare them into giving up any plan they have of invading us." General Ahriel nodded approvingly.

"I enjoy your style of thinking Major, who do you want to lead the attack?" Major Ahuv smiled, he had a company commander in mind.

"Captain Ben-Gurion, he distinguished himself in the 2008 Hamas crisis, his company had one of the best kill counts I've ever seen, eighty nine enemy dead in just three days, he reported no losses from his company at all."

"He sounds good, but who is the most experienced soldier in his company to actually physically spearhead the attack?" Major Ahuv rifled through a few bios before coming out with the one he wanted.

"Lieutenant Kovak, sir. He emigrated here from Germany and fought with distinction in both the 2006 Lebanese War, and the 2008 Gaza crisis. He's an excellent shot too, he won last year's IDF Sharpshooting Competition, he even beat out a couple of snipers." General Ahriel smiled, this just got better and better.

"We need a second man, a spotter, who does Lieutenant Kovak usually work with?"

"A Sergeant Levi, sir."

"Contact Captain Ben-Gurion and tell him the following: His company has been selected to attack Lebanese Border Post 11, and to send Lieutenant Kovak and Sergeant Levi as a vanguard to weaken resistance before the rest of the company comes in." The aide nodded, wrote it all down and walked over to the communications room where he quickly relayed the message.

It had begun.
