Author's notes: This was one of the first stories I've ever wrote, which is really just a short story copied from a diary of a soldier. It has its flaws, I know, but remember: it was my first story I had ever written, and that was around 6 years ago. figured I'd upload it now. :p The contents hold figments of my imagination, and some terms that may... no, will be unrecognizable. This was, like I said, recorded from a holo-journal of a futuristic soldier.

History: The timeline is one thousand years into the future, in our very own galaxy. Furries had taken over and became the top of the food chain, but humans still thrived as the only other sentient species. A single organization, called SIO, was the only major power in the galaxy, and was the only furry organization that protected and worked beside humans, with only small opposition from rebels and gangs. However, this was approximately 300 years after a long and bloody war, called the P-War(1), where powerful human nations waged war against the Furry Kingdom(2). The humans ultimately lost, and surrendered their position as the superior race. Soon after, the Furry Kingdom advanced much faster than humans ever could, making space travel an everyday thing in only two hundred years. Peace existed in the galaxy for another hundred years, and both humans and furs expanded their populations into the trillions, until a large rebel force, called the Siberian Rebels, released a virus into the atmosphere of two planets, Earth, and Trontone, a distant cousin. The virus, called the Z-Plague(3), infected its host and destroyed it, reanimating the corpse into what was called a zombie. The virus then traveled in the air vents of ships traveling from planet-to-planet, spreading to almost every planet in the galaxy. Half the population was eliminated when the furries found a cure. It was released just like the virus had been, except it cured any hosts that were still alive, and deanimated zombies. By this time, only 6 million furries were left, and 8 hundred thousand humans were left. This was the end of the Furry Kingdom, and the beginning of SIO.

A Soldier's Diary, Sergeant Nowell, 1st Wolf Pack, Day 6 of the Siberian Wars

I was a soldier, a leader, at best, but still just a soldier. I was a captain in SIO, Security Intel Operations, the only furs who gave a damn about anything anymore. The day began short but stretched out to last a lifetime. I was riding on a dropship, the LX5 Air Rover(4), to be exact. It was built to hold all types of furs, the seats individually and without any help, adjusting for comfort to those who were abnormal in shape. I was going in with three squads of my best men, Wolf Pack to a war-torn city. Not a single building over two stories high was left standing. Supposedly, our only enemy was a gang that was surprisingly organized, but we all knew better. Intel always held back something, and we knew who- well, more like what our enemy was: the Siberian Rebels(5).

Even though they are considered rebels, they are much more. They were vastly organized, had the numbers and powers of all the pre-war nations combined. Not only that, they were also almost as technologically advanced as SIO, and were the cause of the Z-Plague. However, they were only ordinary furries, with the same weaknesses as the rest of us. Coming in from the south of the city, We saw the bastards as soon as we came in, gathering up a bunch of dead and alive humans and furries for experimentation(6). It was sickening to think about what they did to their captives. Starved to near-death, tortured by any means possible, and most likely turned into walking zombies and thrown at us. They were starting to set up camp, but I was not about to let them. I shouted into my radio, ordering one of our dropships to break off, no need to say more. They did just that, glassing the unexpecting opposition to nothing, but leaving their prisoners unharmed. No enemy survivors. I ordered for an IEVAC(7) to drop in, and about a couple of minutes later, transport had arrived.

During that time, I had decided to take two of my squads on foot from there to search the nearby areas. The other squad took a dropship and set off for a more distant area. Once we got everything organized and ready, we went North and moved from building to building. Only encoutered a few Rebels that were probably left behind as scouts. No survivors though. Man, it would've been nice to see a friendly face. Once we cleared about ten blocks with no survivors found, we started back. Unfortunately for us, we encountered an ambush about halfway there. It was a search party, whether for their own kind or for more humans, I didn't know, but I was not about to find out. The team took cover, scattering across a convienent line of debris. Since they had not cover of their own, we picked them off rather easily. Several of them surrendered, and we took them back with us. Coporal Tanis, a close friend of mine, got his shoulder and tail scraped by a bullet. He wasn't hurt too severely, so we limped him back to the dropship and patched him up. He stayed with us, instead of going back to the Blazing Hawk(8), which was our Command Ship. We got back in our Air Rover, and decided to go west. For the rest of the day, we encountered nothing but rebels.

Even though we hadn't covered the entire city, Command called us back before the city, and a surrounding 50 Kilometer radius, was bombarded to nothing(9) but ash. Sounds harsh, I know. But it was worth it, since the bombardment took out thousands of those rebels, and I'm almost positive we got almost everyone out of there. Even though we had lost a major city and countless lives, it was still a win for us. Everytime you come back from a mission alive, especially with their former captives and no casualties, you could get a shower, a nice hot meal from the finest Mess Sergeant, and go to bed knowing you did your best and be satisfied with it.

1.P-War - The Prejudice War, was the most bloody war in all of human and furry history. It nearly pushed both species to extinction, and changed history forever.

  1. Furry Kingdom - The kingdom was a peaceful place for furries to live, and for humans to visit and see what furries were. It had no intention for war, and lived in peace until the P-War was forced upon it.

  2. Z-Plague - The Zombie Plague was a curse hoisted upon the galaxy by the Siberian Rebels. It was at first, used as a bully method to push the rebels in to power over the galaxy, but quickly got out of hand when it spread across the galaxy. The catastrophe did not halt the rebels advance, however.

  3. LX5 Air Rover - the only military transport designed for both troop drops/pick ups, and assaults on enemy strongholds. Holds only one squad at a time.

  4. Siberian Rebels - Considered themselves as the prophets of the New World Order, they were realistically a powerful army of rebel furries. They have no love for SIO... or humans.

  5. The experimentation of human and furry DNA were considered unthinkable to most of the galaxy, but was common to Siberian Rebels.

  6. Immediate Evacuation - A type of military evacuation that was much quicker than regular military evacuation procedures. And, as such, was only used in emergencies.

  7. Blazing Hawk - The Blazing Hawk(B-Hawk, for short) was a SCV, or SIO Command Vessel. Being the largest ships in the galaxy, the ships were few and far between. It held anti-fighter and anti-missile defenses, not to mention its air-to-surface cannon sitting on its belly.

  8. The surface-to-air cannon on the Blazing Hawk could easily disintegrate 200 kilometers of land to nothing but ash, but could also be narrowed down to a smaller area with a concentrated beam.
