Love poem

Upon Cupid's wings my love doth fly. For under the stars we both dwell, Our hearts are bonded together, Which distance cannot separate nor twine in two. I miss thee with every breath I take, Nay, with every beat of my heart You so dearly hold within your bosom. Twere I to be a lesser man, I would have broken under Life's pressure, But alas, Life knows not the strength of my love. For it would break Hercules' might, Best Achilles' sword, And outmatch Aristotle's Wit.

Yes, a rose is red, but also is white and pink, A violet comes in many colors as well, And to rhyme upon flaws is a flaw indeed. Alas, I will rhyme upon certainties, For my love for you is certain indeed. As the sun is bright and ever warming, My love for thee shall give warmth When thy need it most, And shine brightly in thine darkest hour. As, too, the stars ever watching the night, So as well my love shall watch over thee, Protecting you even when thee least need it.

Now cometh the end of this speech I give, So fear not, the end is near. Though my love for thee will never cease, Even upon my dying breath. I will claim my love for thee, And to St. Peter I will tell, I wait here for my love, And ne'er go into the gates of Heaven, Without the Angel I love and cherish.
