Zion - Light of the New Moon Chapter 2.0

Welcome back to Zion: Light of the New Moon. We've just completed Chapter 1 and the first set of Event Arcs. At this point it's time for some more reader interaction!

Readers may contribute fan art/stories until the midnight (PST) on Friday 17th. The contributions should be linked in comments below. Any contribution may be dedicated to a group (to add +1 Luck or Favor). No Group may benefit from more than 3 Luck and/or 10 Favor via this post for contributions. Contributions may also be credited to a specific character (for +1 Willpower). A contributing reader may apply a bonus to their own character a maximum of two times (one picture and one written piece), but may contribute as many as they wish to others. A character may not gain more than 5 Willpower in this way via this post for contributions.

As of the completion of Chapter 1, each group uses 3 Favor for the three posts that took pace-- Bannihar is the exception, having spent the third post within a Wayside they used only 2. Shrad lost 1 Luck due to failing their Event Arc, but they're still alive and ready to continue... more or less.

The current breakdown of Group Favor and Luck are as follows: Bannihar has 5 Luck and 19 Favor. Doen has 5 Luck and 18 Favor. Myre has 5 Luck and 18 Favor. Myrh has 7 Luck and 22 Favor. Shrad has 4 Luck and 18 Favor.

All readers may now vote for which group they think should receive a bonus Favor point. You may vote for any group you like for any reason you like (even your own if you're a Contributing Reader), but only one group will receive the bonus, and you may only vote once (not once per site).

Non-Contributing readers also have the opportunity to vote on the character they think should receive a bonus experience point. Every reader may vote on any group in which they don't have a contributed character. One character per group will receive this bonus.

The next set of Event Arcs are now votable again to contribute to the storyline for the various 5 groups. You may vote for which group gets what Event Arc but, if you are a contributing reader you may NOT place a vote for a group in which you have a character; you may only vote for other groups. The options are as follows:

On The Road Again Part of any Wild Lander's task on the road is to help make certain that the city dwellers aren't going to do something that gets themselves (or others) killed. During the long days on the Highway it only makes sense to take the opportunity to go over basic survival skills that every traveler should know Complexity: 1 Success: + Willpower, + Luck Failure: -1 Willpower Story Seeds: ++ Wild, + Earth Modifier: success will be based upon a combination of skill rolls made by the party, plus a bonus if there is a Wild Lander in the group.

The Unguarded The city dwellers are't the only people to underestimate the dangers of the Wild Lands. Upon arriving at a Wayside, the caravan discovers that the son of an influential leader has run off into the world beyond the safety of its walls... and he desperately wants his son brought home safely. Complexity: 2 Success: + Willpower, + Treasure Failure: - Willpower, - Luck Story Seeds: ++ Wild, + New Moon Modifier: A successful party gets the use of the Wayside and the removal of all minor fatigue.

If All Else Fails... What happens when the caravan stumbles upon a site of ancient power? A puzzle of incredible intricacy remains untouched by time, waiting for travelers with the right insight (or enough physical or magical might) to gain entry to whatever may lay beyond. Complexity: 2 Success: (based on City and amount of success) Failure: - Willpower, - Favor Story Seeds: + Dawn, + New Moon, + Earth Modifier: Reader contribution. Contributing Readers have the chance to solve a puzzle for bonus rewards. If unsuccessful the party can still complete the Event Arc with good rolls but the award will be lessened.

The Serpent's Eye Not every caravan is lucky enough to travel safely the numerous miles between cities, and not every caravan is unlucky enough to encounter Serpents; this caravan is not part of the former group, but IS part of the latter. Complexity: 2 Success: + Willpower, + Bonus exp Failure: -- Luck Story Seeds: + New Moon, ++ Serpent Modifier: while combat is the most likely result, a group that receives this Event Arc MAY attempt to negotiate with the semi-sentient creatures... but doing so will put the caravan at a disadvantage if the Serpents elect to attack regardless.

Shortcut Every now and then there comes a time when a traveling group must decide between the longer, more established, (usually) safer route, or try for a path that will cut down on travel time, at the possible cost of safety. Complexity: 2 Success: + Willpower, Conservation of 1 Favor Failure: - Willpower, - Luck Story Seeds: + Earth, + New Moon, - Wild Modifier: successful completion of this Story Arc will result in a bonus opportunity for contributing and non-contributing reader submissions and input

Thanks For The Memories Every one of the Temple Cities had their share of defining moments during the 200 Year War. Each of them had great victories and great losses... but the most pivotal often involved an everlasting change to the countryside. Holbrook, Glimmerhaven , The Aorani Freehold, Ashlai, Khune... these are but a few names of entire cities that stand as casualties of war. Choosing to pass through these ruins is a testament to the dedication and devotion of the caravan. Complexity: 3 Success: ++ Favor, Bonus Story Seed (by city) Failure: - Willpower, - Favor Story Seeds: ++ New Moon, + Earth Modifier: Bonus Story Seed (Sun for Bannihar, Dawn for Doen, Mist for Myre, Serpent for Myrh, Wild for Shrad). A group that completes this story seed will also have a bonus story seed option for Chapter 3.

So now's your chance to vote for what Story Arc should go to which group. If you're not a contributing reader you have even more power-- make use of it! Votes and story/art contributions must be posted before midnight (PST) on Friday, June 17th. You are now welcome to ask questions and/or start your contributions!
