Choice(Balance)-Arc 1"Beginning" part 15
Kay,Kyle and Buch continued forward into the labyrynth.After they got through most of the temple they came to fork in the middle that splits into 3 seperate directions.They saw the ceptar placed on an altar,but was guarded by a barrier.Buch stands,looking puzzled.
"What now?"
He asks.Kyle thinks for second.
"Hmmm.Seems that we won't be able to obtain the ceptar until we traverse this temple further."
He states.Kay glares at the 3 seperate passages.
"Let's split up.I'll take the upper one."
Kay says.
"I'll take the one to the left."
Kyle says.
"Guess I'm stuck with the right."
Buch says.The 3 look at each other.
"Be careful.Don't go dying on me."
Kay says with a smirk.They all nodd,then split up.Kay went through his side and sees a maze-like pattern of walls that were blocking him.
"What the hell?"
He says,confused.Buch entered a room and sees a reflection of himself that mimiced everything that he did.Buch stares in frustration.He notices a key that was behind his reflection and a door as well.He stares in wonder.Kyle entered a room with 3 boxes.like Buch,he saw a door in the very back of the room.He looks at the boxes,studying what significance they may hold.
"Peculiar."
He says as he walks closer to the boxes.They immediatly hopped up and revealed a key.It was similar to the one that Buch saw.The boxes come back down and starts to shuffle quickly.
"You've got to be kiding me."
He says as he continues to stare in awe.He followed the boxes the best he could,but they were way too fast.They stopped shuffling,and Kyle was a bit nervous at what the outcome might be if he got it wrong.He goes to pick the box on the right,but it appears empty.In an instant the walls drew in closer and closer by the second.Kyle looks around frantically,but the walls stop.He takes a sigh of releif as he looks at the boxes once more.
"That was way too close.This key must be important if there's a trap like this.I can't make anymore mistakes."
He says to himself as he continues to glare at the boxes.Meanwhile,Kay traversed through the mysterious maze that holds him.He goes to the right,then the left,then left again,and sees 2 arrows with a question:(Right)"Does your destruction leed to your desires? (Left)Or do your desires leed to your destruction?"The riddle was mind boggling for Kay.He thinks for a second.
"One of these passage ways is the way outta here,but I have to answer a riddle first.Hmmmm"
He thinks about the riddle he was given.He goes to the right.He gets to a chamber that's filled with demons.He draws his wing.
"Damn it! Looks like i got it wrong."
He says as he rushes in to fight them.After kay wipes them out,he's automatically sent to the very beginning of the maze.Kay clenches his fists.
"Argh! Come on!!"
He shouts in frustration.Buch pretty much had his hands full with his reflection.He would'nt let up.Whenever buch attacks him it intantly did the same.It was quite frustrating for Buch,seeming that there was no way to get through.
"How the hell am I gonna beat myself? I don't get it." He says,trying to figure out what to do.He deploys his wing,and his reflection did the same.Buch grins.
"So,you think just cause you copy how I fight,you're gonna win? Don't make me laugh!!"
Buch shouts as he charges at his reflection,wing drawn.Their blows were very powerful and almost earth shattering.Buch backs away quickly and he pounds his fist on the ground to launch a wave,but the reflection could'nt.The wave hit the clone,and it vanishes in an instant.Buch smirks.Buch looks at his hands and is astonished at what he just did.The reflection may have been able to mimic Buch physically,but could not duplicate his inner power.
"Woah.that was cool.He could'nt copy what I just did.Ha!! Sucker."
Buch says as he heads to the key to pick it up.He looks at it then looks at the door.Kyle was still staring at the boxes which did'nt move yet.He moves forward and the 3 boxes hop up again to reveal the key.It starts to shuffle again.Kyle steps back a bit and focuses harder.
"Come on.I can do this.I just need to concentrate."
He says to himself.He takes off his glasses for a second and continues to stare at the boxes.Then something wierd happened.As the box started to shuffle,they were alot slower.Kyle looks in amazment as he was able to see them much easier now.Almost like he slowed down time around the boxes.He looks at his glasses then goes to pick the box.He picks the middle one and he was correct.He grins as he puts his glasses back on.He grabs the key, and heads to the door.He was still intrigued by his new discovery.
"I see.It seems that if I block out my sense of thought for a second and focus on my sight,I'm able to slow down my target.Quite unique i must say."
He finishes as he heads to the door.Kay was fighting his way through the large maze and was out of breath by the time he got to the final riddle.He glared at it.
"Alright.*Pant* Almost there.I just gotta get this riddle right."
He says,panting even further.The riddle stated:(Right)"At the end of the road do you find friendship?(Left)"Or do you find peace?"Kay was offstruck by this one.He remembers what Buch told him last night about Alan.He remembers what he said about changing the people around him.He made his choice and this time he was sure.
"I'll find friendship.Alan is my friend and i WILL save him.He needs me!"
He says as he heads to the right.He was correct.He smiles as he sees a door in front of him.He sees a key and picks it up.Kay,Kyle and Buch use the key to open the door in front of them.The doors burst open in a strong gust of wind.Inside there was nothing but darkness but they saw red eyes inside the darkness.They stared in awe as the voices spoke to them.
"Welcome mortals.We..Are the Keepers."
