The New Girl

"I'm not sure about this Kiki," The fawn called from behind her pink flower room divider.

"Oh come on Kiirei, you'll love Sierra," the white fox called back.

"It's not that, it's just are you sure I have to see her on my own the first time we meet?"

Kiki sighed and rubbed her forehead. Her adopted sister could be a bit of a handful at times. For sure she loved the fawn, but her shyness made it difficult to introduce her to new people. Deep down Kiki was hoping the Wolfess would rub off on her. Possibly help her to get out of this shyness.

"Look, Sierra is a nice Wolf, she's not going to hurt you! Heck you might end up liking her."

"I... I'm not sure." "Come on, she even went to the trouble of getting the type of dress you asked her to."

Kiirei poked her head around the divider.

"Really? What's it look like?"

Kiki smiled at this.

"The only way you'll find out is by meeting her."

Kiirei pouted at this. "Awww, that's not fair Kiki!"

"Well, you know what they say, 'sly as a fox.'"

Kiirei smiled at this.

"Don't I know it, can you please pull this tight for me?"

Kiki smiled and stood as the Fawn stepped out from behind the divider, pulling the strings tight on her corset. She took a small step back and looked over her sister. She looked very cute in her Red and white Victorian style dress and blouse. She had the front buttoned up almost all the way to her neck, showing how shy and conservative she was.

Kiirei went to her mirror and did a small twirl looking herself over before adjusting the red with pink stripes ribbon on her hip. Kiki smiled and looked her over too.

"You look great Sis! But.... it's missing something," Kiki rested her chin on her furred hand and pondered.

"What? What's wrong? Is it my hair or something?"

Kiki snapped her fingers and dashed out of the room. Kiirei was a little confused, even more so when she heard loud rummaging in the next room.

"Aha!" Kiki exclaimed, soon appearing back in the room with a red bow that had some long, thin, black feathers attached to it. She then re did Kiirei's hair adding the bow, now making the majority hang past her shoulders while a small amount was tied up with the bow.

"There, now you look perfect."

Kiirei smiled and hugged her sister tight.

"Awww thanks Sis! Your the best." Kiki hugged back, rubbing her sisters back gently. "Your... welcome!" She spotted the clock at that moment, her eyes widening. "My goodness your going to be late! Lets get out of here!"

***

Kiirei gazed out the window a small smile on her face. They were going down a long tree lined road, somewhere in the hills. Kiki and Sierra had picked out the place, but had kept it secret from the fawn the entire time.

It was late Autumn and most of the tree's were deciduous, there leaves brilliant shades of reds and yellows. It was beautiful to look at. But as the continued driving she was beginning to get nervous again. She knew Sierra was a good friend of her sister, but the fact she had never meet the wolf before, or even knew what she looked like, and she would be all alone with the woman, was scaring her.

Seemingly knowing what was going through the fawns mind, Kiki rested a hand on her leg.

"It's ok Sis, trust me, everything will be fine. Sierra is a great person, maybe you'll be a little scared at first... but trust me, it quickly vanishes."

Kiirei looked over at her sister and smiled.

"Thanks sis."

Kiki smiled back and slowed the car down, turning into a long, paved driveway. They travelled along it briefly before Kiki turned into a small parking lot, smiling to herself as she parked next to a dark red Saleen Muscle car.

"Here we are, lets go shall we?" Kiki didn't let the fawn answer, opening her door quickly and stepping out, leaving Kiirei to only sigh and get out as well. The car locked itself as she closed the door and walked quickly to keep up with the fox.

The main building was very beautiful. It was a more modern take on an old Victorian era house. The main difference being some rather large windows that gave those inside a wonderful view of the vineyards.

They walked up the large stone steps to the front door, walking through the main foyer to the cafe. It was much more of a classical affair inside the building, as the walked into the cafe.

The floor was a nicely polished wooden boards. Along one of the far walls were several windows that had been set in deep to the wall, comfy looking cushions lining there ledges, with small tables sitting in front of them. She looked around more, her eyes sparkling.

The staff where wearing lovely Victorian style clothes, the girls in maids uniforms lined with lace and frilly stuff which Kiirei loved, the boys as well wearing what seemed to be butler suits and cute white gloves.

"Welcome, do you have a reservation?"

Kiirei looked over to a cute tan furred horse waitress and blushed, unable to stop herself shying away behind her sister. The girl smiled cutely and giggled.

"Is everything ok sweetie? It's ok won't hurt you."

"S... sorry, I can't help it," Kiirei blushed as she emerged from behind Kiki. "I'm a little shy."

"Ahh I see, well at least you have your best friend here to keep you safe."

"Actually," Kiki piqued up. "She's my sister."

This raised the waitresses eyebrow, but she just smiled.

"Now, have you made a reservation or a you just here on a spur of the moment?"

"Yeah we have a reservation, I'm just dropping my sister off, the name down should be a Sierra Veron?"

The waitress smiled and looked down at the book in front of her.

"Ahhh yep, Sierra Veron, she has already arrived. Please, follow me."

She lead them through the cafe. As they approached one of the tables, the occupant smiled and stood, giving Kiki a tight hug when they reached her. Kiirei stared at her for a moment, admiring her dress. It was a strapless number, with the waist being very corset like. The skirt was short and pleated, with a frilly under layer. The seams running up her sides were lined with thick gold coloured stitches, while the pattern on her chest was also in gold. She wore a white neckerchief. She also wore a reasonably large headdress adorned with a large peacock feather.

"Kiki, my goodness it's so good to see you!"

"Sierra, it's been a while," Kiki pulled back and stepped aside, bringing the shy fawn forward. "Sierra, this is my adopted sister Kiirei."

Sierra gave a friendly smile, making Kiirei involuntarily shy away, bringing a confused look on the wolfs muzzle, looking to Kiki, would subtly pointed to her mouth.

"Oh dear I'm sorry," Sierra gushed coming close and hugging the fawn tight. "I forget sometimes I have such a toothy smile, but I thought you would be used to it with your sister here."

"I... it's ok," Kiirei smiled a little and hugged back, making Kiki smile.

"Well then, I'll leave you two be, I have things to do before you get back, so I should be going. Have fun, don't let Sierra eat too many cake's Kiirei."

"Awww that's not fair Kiki," the wolf pouted. "You know I can't resist cake's!"

Kiki giggled and walked off leaving the fawn with the wolf.

"I love your dress Kiirei," Sierra said as they sat down. "It looks really nice on you."

"Oh... thanks, your dress is really nice too! Green really looks nice on you!"

"Why thank you sweetie," Sierra smiled again, but this time Kiirei didn't flinch from the tooth filled mouth, only smiled in return. "Now, I don't know about you but I would love a cake and coffee, how about you?"

"Oh well I don't know, I've never been here before." Sierra grinned.

"Ok, I'll order for us," She called over a waiter and placed their order, him smiling politely and walking off, returning after a few minutes with their coffees and a plate with a small strawberry shortcake cake. Kiirei grinned at the sight of the scrumptious looking cake, in-avertedly licking her lips.

"Hungry are we Kiirie?"

She looked up and blushed.

"Sorry, it just looks so delicious."

"Mmm it does, lets dig in then."

Kiirei grinned and picked up a knife, cutting the both rather large pieces and placing then on small plates. Then picking up the coffee pot, she poured them both a cup of coffee. Sierra sipped hers gratefully as she lifted up an old style pocket watch.

Kiirei smiled, thinking how well the watched looked with Sierra's outfit.

"So tell me Kiirei, why haven't I seen you before? Where have you been and all?"

"Umm well, I've been living overseas a lot. Lived in Europe, America and Canada for a fair while, only recently came back to Australia to work on a little project of mine." "Ahh I see, why were you overseas? Come on spill the beans."

"Ok well, you see I love flowers, I mean LOVE flowers. I went overseas to find some of the best flowers I could and write about them. Then I got this, well, kinda crazy idea about opening a florist store with exotic and beautiful flowers. Kiki has really been interested in this and has helped me a lot. Has even helped me find a good place to open this store, but well, we don't have enough money to do the renovations and set the place up. So I've got to try and find a company or something to help sponsor me." "Hmm well it sounds like a wonderful idea, I can't think of a reason why someone wouldn't want to help you out."

Kiirei smiled and blushed more.

"Thanks Sierra, I can see why you and Kiki are so fond of each other."

Sierra smiled back and giggled slightly.

"Well thank you sweetie, I'm becoming quite fond of you too."

A good two hours passed as the pair chatted, the Fawn and Wolf suddenly having a great repour with each other. But as the cafe began to become more busy with people the pair decided to leave for Kiki's place. As they walked out the front door Sierra hooked her arm with Kiirei's.

"Say, we have a fair bit of time before Kiki is expecting us, why don't you show me the place you would like to have for your flower shop?"

Kiirei looked to her and blushed.

"Ok, I guess we could, if you don't mind that is."

"Of course I don't mind, come on, it will be fun, the drive will be great, especially in my car."

Kiirei was about to ask, 'what car,' when Sierra stepped up to the dark red Saleen Kiki had parked next to when she first arrived.

The lights flashed as the doors unlocked and Sierra got in the drivers side. Kiirei opened the passenger door and put on her seat belt. Sierra grinned as she turned the key in the ignition, the engine coming to life with an oddly satisfying rumbling roar. The grin on Sierra's face was enormous as she reversed out of the parking spot and drove past the front of the building, several heads turning. With another grin, she gave then engine a particularly hard rev as they past a pair of Porsche's, before speed off as their car alarms went off.

Kiirei grinned as the car cruised along the highway.

"This is a really nice car Sierra, how did you manage to afford this?"

Sierra smiled keeping her eyes on the road.

"Well me and Wolf, my husband, are rather well off. He owns a well known animation company based in the city. He makes quite a bit off it too, so I don't need to work, which lets me spend lots of time with my little girl. But of course she goes to school soon so my days are going to become a bit more boring."

"Oh, how old is your daughter?"

"She'll be 6 in October, oh I'll have to get her to show you and Kiki her uniform, she looks so adorable in it."

"Oh that sounds lovely."

They continued to banter as they drove, giggling like school girls almost the whole time. Sierra gunned the car as they hit the highway, the car quickly hitting the 100kph speed limit, which made Sierra pout.

"Sometime the road rules annoy me. Here we have a beautiful clear sunny day, there is like, no one on the road, and yet I'm limited to 100, when I could safely, and easily do 120 plus."

Kiirei giggled and nodded, wishing she could get a chance to experience something like that.

They reached the city, and Kiirei was quick to give Sierra the right directions. Soon they pulled up next to a boarded up shop on a decent street.

They got out and Kiirei rummaged through her purse and found the key the real-estate agent had given her, unlocking the front door and letting them both in. It was dim inside, with only a small amount of daylight creeping in through the small gaps between the boards covering the windows.

The main area was quiet large, and in the back was a large, walk in fridge.

"The place used to be a restaurant, but they moved out once they became more successful, plus the rent is rather cheap. There is also an apartment in the second floor, so I could live here too. The owner even told me I could buy it off him if I really wanted."

"So how much is he asking to buy it?"

"Ummm well he said 300 thousand, but he told me if it was too high he would go a little lower."

Sierra thought for a moment.

"How much do you and Kiki have?"

"Ahh well we don't have nearly enough to buy the place, but we can cover the rent easily enough. But the real issue is coming up with the money for renovations and setting the place up."

"Ok, I just need to cheek up on Wolf, make sure him and Lauren are ok, then we'll go to Kiki's."

Kiirei nodded, and Sierra stepped outside, mobile in hand, as Kiirei had one last look around.

"Ok sweetheart, I'll see you later. Yes I'll be home in time for Laurens bed time, ok bye."

Kiirei stepped out the shops door just as Sierra was finishing on her phone. She smiled and walked over to the car.

"Well those two are fine for another few hours, so lets go."

The drive to Kiki's house was short. Kiirei had a large grin on her face the whole way. She was glad Kiki had pushed her to meet Sierra. She had come to like her so much, she was surprised she had put it off for so long.

Eventually the arrived at Kiki's house.

"Oh I wonder why Wolf's car is here?" Sierra pondered as the parked next to a dark grey Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX.

They both stepped out and walked up to the front door, Sierra opening it and stepping inside.

"Mummy!"

"Oof," Sierra was almost knocked to the floor as a small bundle of fur bowled into her, hugging close and tight.

"Lauren, my goodness what are you and Daddy doing here?"

"Aunty Kiki asked if we wanted some cake!"

"Oh did she now?"

The little Wolf nodded eagerly and for the first time noticed Kiirei standing quietly next to Sierra. She put a finger in her mouth and bit on it shyly, taking a small step behind Sierra, who giggled.

"It's ok sweetie, this is Kiirei, Aunty Kiki's sister."

Lauren tilted her head slightly.

"But she doesn't look like Aunty Kiki," Kiirei blushed hard at this as Sierra got down to Laurens level.

"That's because when Kiirei and Kiki were little, Kiki's parents adopted Kiirei."

"Why?" Sierra sighed gently and stood.

"Maybe you should ask Kiirei love, its not polite to talk about people like they are not in the room when they are."

"Sowwy Kiiwei, I hope I didn't huwt your feelings."

"No it's ok sweetie," Kiirei smiled and they all walked into the living room where Wolf and Kiki were chatting. Wolf turned and smiled standing to greet them.

"Hey love, Kiki rang like 5 minutes after you and asked if we wanted to come over. With the prospect of cake, how could I say no?"

"Silly Wuffy," Sierra giggled. "This is Kiirei, love. Kiirei, this is my husband Wolf."

"Ahhh I see, mind if I have a private work with you miss Kiirei?"

Kiirei was a little nervous, but with Sierra smiling and nodding, and the fact he was her husband, help set her mind at ease. They both walked from the room as Sierra sat down with Lauren in her lap.

"So what did you want to chat about Wolf?"

"Well a little birdie has told me you like flowers, and that you need some help with buying a store near to the city."

Kiirei blushed. Sierra must have talked about more than she thought.

"Yeah."

"Well I'm sure you have noticed that myself and Sierra are well off thanks to the company I own."

"I have. What are you thinking Wolf?"

"Well, I would like to meet with the owner of this old store and haggle on a price before I buy it for you."

"What? You... you don't have to do that!"

"Why not? I've been looking for something to invest in. Sierra told me all about it and it sounds like a good solid idea. Plus Sierra will be able to work there with you and Kiki, give her something to do while Lauren is at school."

"Are... are you sure?"

"I don't make offers like this unless I'm sure dear."

"I'm... speechless. You really want to do this?"

"Sure as sugar."

Kiirei giggled at this.

"Well if you want to, I was meeting with the owner and real-estate agent tomorrow to make a deal on renting."

"Well I'll tag along before I go into work. There is just one condition I ask for."

"Ok, umm what might that be?"

"Free flowers on Sierra's birthday," Wolf said with a large grin. Kiirei smiled and mentally release the breath she had been holding."

"That is a condition I can deal with."

Wolf smiled and put his arm around her shoulders, guiding her back to the living room where Leigh sat with Kiki cuddled up to him. Everyone turned and smiled at her, making her glad that she was now apart of this special family.
