This is not my story. This is a collaboratin of sorts with another artist, whome asked me if I would be kind enough to play the role of editor for their authoritive works. I hope that they like this, revised version, as I know I do. It was an absolute joy to be able to aid another in such a way. I didn't change what they had originally intended, my sole function was mostly to clean up grammatical errors and help them see punctuation and such. This was more of a one-time thing with ChaistyFox, so I wouldn't count on any works like this coming out of me unless it was okay with him, or I came up with something radically different for myself.

My master purposefully packed various items as I silently padded around the small cabin room. His bags were laid out on the bed, just out of my range of vision, and his back was turned to me as he proceeded with his work. It was time once again for my master to travel to town, a much needed excursion to suppliment our dwindeling cache of supplies like food and medicine, among other things. I would be left alone for extended periods during these excursions, as the town was quite far--almost a league if my memory served from what my master had told me. He always left early in the morning, but I was left through the day, and often into the night as well, alone at the cabin to my own machinations; usually playfully gallavanting around the property, careful to stay away from the treeline. When I did chance the trees, I was always meticulous about not straying too far from my home.

"Remember, there are many wild happenings within the trees." He had told me once.

"But master, where is the harm in following the trails?" I had asked. "Are they not safe enough?" I can still remember the look on his face, and the way his voice changed.

"The trails lead deep within the forest. It would only be too easy for you to get lost, or worse." He had chastised me, his voice rising briefly in anger at my impudence. "You would do well to not stray from the cabin until I return, for your own safety."

I knew he was concerned for me, as I had only been wild when he found me. He had tamed the wilderness in me, kept me safe and given me shelter. I did not argue further with him, but lately the desire to find a mate had risen in my mind, and was becoming stronger. I sat and thought about these words, knowing that I had lost count how many times I had done so before, as my master said his farewells and left the cabin. I soon adventured outdoors, playfully chasing butterflies and pouncing small wildflowers. I was enjoying myself, when I heard a howl sound from deep in the forest.

The sound was familiar to me, and sent a savage chill through my body from my snout to my tail. I cowered briefly in fear, wondering whether I should follow the sound or remain where I knew I was safe. The sound had come from a trail not far from the cabin, and before I had realized it, I was slinking through the shadows along the side of the trail, drawing closer to the sounds of an anamalistic whimpering. They seemed to be growing weaker, and as I got closer, ceased all together. A mixture of fear and concerne flooded my mind as I rounded a small bush, searching for the sound.

On the trail ahead of me was another fox with stunning silver fur. I moved cautiously foreward and gazed with wonder at the color of the fur. It was as silver as moonlight, and seemed as if to be able to give a reflection if one looked at it. Looking him over, I saw him held in a trap. I crept closer still, and gently nudged him with my muzzle, failing to invoke any response.

Why would anyone put a fox trap in the woods? I wondered. There were no hunters here, there had been none for a long time. My heart started to race as I looked at the stunning fox, his body trapped in a snare, broken and utterly destroyed. A well known fear coursed through me, one that I had felt since my master had found me. I knew I couldn't do anything for the beautiful fox while master was away, and I was forced to return to the cabin. I started as I realized that I had lost track of the time. The shadows had lengthened considerably, and the warm sun was sinking low over the horizon. I had to return before it dissappeared, and all I had was the stars to light my way...

I started back to the cabin in a blind terror, running quickly. I ran, the bushes and vines flashing by in blurs. In my panic, I lost my direction. I turned my head and looked around. Suddenly, the ground dissapeared from underneath my feet, and I found myself lying in a clup of dead branches that had fallen. I tried to get up, but my leg was pinned under a large, heavy branch.

Oh my god , I thought. What now? I didnt know if i should start howling, knowing that spmeone had just caught the silver fox not far down the path, or if I should stay quiet. Panic started to set in; I was going to die, and it was all because I had disobeyed my master. I whined softly, fighting to hold back tears when I heard a sound like twigs cracking. I knew someone or something is coming towards me. I tried to stay calm and quiet, but it must have heard me when I whined.

"Shush, my little vixen," A voice said. "Now, how did you get caught on these branches, hmm?" I turned my head and saw a man with clean, short-cropped hair. His face was gentle, but his eyes frightened me the way that he looked at me.

"I got frightened and lost my way," I replied as he set to work freeing me. I tried to stand up, but pain shot up my leg and I fell back down."

"You should lie down," He said. His voice was husky, but it had an air of kind friendliness to it. "You have a horrible cut on your leg that's bleeding pretty bad. We should get that taken care of. I have a camp not too far from here, say a mile or two. I can take you there and dress this wound, and return you to where you belong."

I was still afraid, but had no choice.I couldn't walk back to the cabin, so I had to trust him as he put his muscular arms around me and lifted me gently to his chest. He had a unexpected gentleness about him, but it was almost night and there was something about me that I didn't want him to find out. I had to get back to the cabin before dark.

It was a long walk, and it seemed like would never arrive at his campfire. Despite it being nearly nightfall, I still had to trust him. We finally made it there, and he set me down and began to clean my cut.

"Now," He said, his voice calm and soothing. "This might hurt, but it will spare you any infections." She gasped and whimpered in pain as he worked, reflexively trying to pull the wounded limb away, but his grip was firm.

"Well, now your leg is clean and bandaged. I will take you where you want to go if you like."

"Thank you," I said.

"May I ask where exactly that is?" He said smoothly.

"I kind of got turned around when I panicked," I told him. "But I should be able to track my way back."

"Oh," He chuckled. "I see..." He added, waving a large hand towards my nose. Just then, what should have never happened, did. Night had fallen while he was tending to me, but I hadn't taken any notice; he kept me in a kind of trance it seemed.

"Just let me pack up my camp, and we shall be off." Then thing I didnt want to happen in front of him was going to, and there was nothing i could do about it. Suddenly my body started to change with the night, my vulpine body becoming that of a human girl with auburn hair. My only thought was to run away before he saw, but I couldn't move.

"Oh, jeeze!" He said. He could only stand still in a daze looking at the girl now in front of him . "How did you do that?"

"I am a certain kind of creature that changes with the sun." I told him, looking at the dirt. "Fox by day, and woman by night."

"Then we had better get you back to your master before anything more happens." He said cautiously. "May i asked your name? " he asked.

"You've been saying the whole time, actually." I told him. "My name is Vixen."

I felt mixed emotions in my head, and chastised myself. I wasn't suppose to want another, but the urge to have him was growing stronger as he came closer to pick me up and take me home

I looked into his eyes and asked, "What is your name?"

"Matt,"

I didn't know what I was feeling at that moment; my arms where around his neck and my lips so close to his we could of touched, then he unexpectedly kissed me. His lips were so gentle and the way his tongue pressed between my lips and pushed its way to mine sent a shock of electrictly into my body.
