Hiccup was becoming a man he knew that, but for some reason nobody else did they all thought that he was just someone that acted like a child much of the time. Well let me tell you. Yeah of coarse it was obvious to see that Hiccup was physically looking like a man with the beard and all, but he everyone thought that he sure didn't act like it.
The thing about Hiccup is that he had to consistently be trying to prove all the other Vikings on the island that he isn't just some childish human and that he is much more then that. Hiccups dad was the leader of all the Vikings on the island, he was a large muscled big shouldered man that lead the Vikings of the island into battle with against the Dragons that kept attacking the village to take their items. Now Stoick (Hicups dad) also didn't think of Hicup as a man he also thought that he was acted like a child nearly all the time.
Hiccup had a secret that nobody else on the island new about, and he didn't want to tell anyone especially his dad for he didn't know what he would say to him or think of him. Well accctually Hiccup had two secrets that nobody but him new about. One of those secrets Hiccup thought about more then the other and for particular reasons. Sometimes Stoick would ask Hiccup to do something for him but he wouldn't seem to hear him so Stoick would have to ask Hiccup about 2 or 3 times before he would finally would hear what Stoick was saying to him.
Stoick asked Hiccup if he would go down to the blacksmith Building, pick up his sword and bring it back to him. Stoick new that whenever Hiccup was there her would stay around 2 sometimes 5hrs at a time and talk to the blacksmith there and help him out with his work. Stoick told Hiccup that he needed that sword soon so he shouldn't stay there for too long.
So Hiccup hurried down to the blacksmiths building to get Stoick's sword for him. When hiccup arrived their he noticed that the blacksmith wasn't their so Hiccup decided to take a walk down to the dock where all the war ships were. When he got there he noticed a group of Vikings that where hauling some cargo and placing them on the war boats. Hiccup was curious to find out what the Vikings where doing with all that cargo.
Hiccup walk right up to one of the Vikings and ask him what all of them where doing. the Viking told Hiccup that they were doing work for Stoick and that they would be going on a voyage the next day. Hiccup wondered why his dad hadn't told him about it. Just then the Viking that Hiccup was talking to told Hiccup that he wasn't allowed to be down at the docks and that he should probably go home. Hiccup hesitated but finally turned around and headed back up the dock and back to towards the Blacksmith building. Hiccup nodded then hurried to the blacksmiths, got the sword from the blacksmiths (who had returned), then hurried home.
When hiccup got Stoick was waiting for him. "Hiccup" he called when hiccup entered to front door "do you have my sword I ask you to get for me. Hiccup handed the sword to Stoick. "here it is sir". Stoick smiled. Hiccup still wondered why his dad hadn't told him about the voyage. He shrugged it off and went up stairs to get ready for dinner.
The next morning when Hiccup awoke he found that his dad was nowhere in sight. So hiccup thought that the Vikings had gone on the voyage. Just as Hiccup was walking out the front door to go see if he could find Astrid Stoick came walking up the road towards the house. "Hey Hiccup where do you think your going" Stoick looked curious but really wasn't because he had the voyage on his mind. Just then the both of them heard a sound that sounded a faint squeak of some sort. Astrid got scared and shacked looking frantically in all directions. Astrid looked at hiccup and smiled. "So you care about this creature". Hiccup nodded. Astrid looked amused. "now all we have to do for it for the day is feed it and watch it fly around A little (toothless can fly but not well it is regaining its strength in its wings so I can't leave the canyon too long.
Hiccup and Astrid fed Toothless then they both watch him for a long time before deciding to leave the forest (as its becoming dark). On the way past Hiccups house Hiccup decided to get the item for Astrid. At this time Astrid was getting scared she wanted to go home but decided that she would see the item Hiccup had for her. Astrid decided to wait outside well hiccup went to go get the item. After 10 minutes of hiccup looking for the item he come outside and told Astrid that he must have miss placed it. Astrid told hiccup that she had to go home, but hiccup asked Astrid if she would come upstairs to help him look for it. So agreed but only for a few minutes.
When in Hiccups room Hiccup decided that he would look in the closet and Astrid should look in the book shelf (aka beside hiccups bed) for the item. Hiccup watch Astrid and when she wasn't looking and was looking on the Bookshelf he walked over to Astrid and touch her shoulder.
