Chapter 5: A new, old friend.

So...the last chapter ended with Phoenix chasing after Fening because Fening teased Phoenix about the whole thing with Hypter. Phoenix doesn't know what she should think about Hypter and his request that she would be his girlfriend. But what about everyone else? Zepher and Terran seem to have gotten something on their minds too. But what about Boltwire and Glade? Will they fall for one of the new dragonesses? Or will Flame and Ember convince the dragonesses that the boys are bad? I don't know, maybe if we take a look below on the pages I will have written when you read this maybe we will find out.

The day started out slowly, it was weekend and no one was planning to get up early...except Hypter, he was always up early, he had decided to sleep in his apartment he yet haven't got sold. He took as usual a little flight around the city before eating breakfast, it was still dark but he enjoyed that, he didn't enjoy flying when there were too many dragons outside that might bother him. Then he decided to fly over to Spyro and Cynder so he could prepare the picnic food. But before he flew there he dropped by at Phoenix's house. Making two giant roses of ice on the front, before flying to Spyro and Cynder's house. When Hypter got there he saw to his big surprise that Spyro was in the garden, so he decided to land and talk a little with the purple dragon. "Hi there Spyro, what are you doing up so...early?" Hypter asked with a little laugh when he said 'early'.

"I was just up to check the weather, and it seems to be a nice day." Spyro said with a yawn as he stretched. "Interesting...I will go in and start with the picnic food." Hypter said and walked to the kitchen.

After a while he was done with the food, so he put it in the picnic baskets. Cynder had also woken and joined Spyro outside. When Hypter was done with everything he walked out to Cynder and Spyro with the baskets.

"Hey, can you guys wait here while I get Phoenix and her sister?" Hypter asked.

"Yeah sure but don't take to long." Spyro replied with a grin.

"Yeah...whatever." Hypter replied while he got covered by ice, and gained a bigger size. "How about now? Do you still think I will take to long?" Hypter asked.

"...I guess not." Spyro said surprised, as it was the first time he had seen Hypter's guardian size. Then Hypter took of in the direction of Phoenix's house. When he arrived Phoenix and Fening stood and admired the two big ice roses. "Hi there Phoenix, Fening, what do you think of the roses?" Hypter asked as he descended next to the two dragonesses.

"Is it you that made them?" Fening asked amazed.

"Who else?" Hypter said with a laugh.

"They are really pretty but maybe we should get going, the others must be waiting." Phoenix said. "Uh, right, it goes faster if you jump up on my back. But hang on tight, I will be flying fast." Hypter said with a smile.

"No thanks, I will be flying myself." Fening said as she took off.

"Suit yourself then, ok Phoenix up ya go." Hypter said as he gestured for phoenix to get on his back. "Yeye, I'm not a child you know." Phoenix replied with an angry tone as she crawled up on Hypter's back. "I know, just hold on tight." Hypter said as he took off gently but he quickly accelerated and soon passed Fening.

After he arrived with Phoenix and Fening shortly after him they all took of to the school where they met up with the rest of the dragons. Then everyone went outside to the forest that surrounded Warfang.

"So how is it going in your village?" Geena asked curious.

"We...don't really know" Zepher answered, looking down in the ground.

"What? How come?" Geena asked surprised.

"We haven't heard anything from there after I got banished." Zepher replied, still looking down in the ground. "Oh I'm sorry Zepher but why were you banned?" Geena asked.

"Because of my fur." Zepher replied.

"How can someone be so stupid to ban you for that? I love your fur, it's so cuddly." Noctus giggled and cuddled against Zepher. After a minute Zepher began to purr, which made Noctus notice what she was doing and pulled away from Zepher. "Oh, ehm...sorry, I don't know why I did that." Noctus said and blushed. "Oh, uh, it's ok...I kinda liked it." Zepher said and blushed heavily. Terran of course couldn't help but to laugh. "Oh shut up Terran, shouldn't you be doing the same with Fliva? After all you two know each other from earlier." Zepher said.

"Now when you say it..." Terran said and began to think about it.

And then Terran outburst "ZOMFG I know you!!! Shalalala!!!" To which Fliva replied, "ZOMFG I know you too! Banana split!!!"

...Nah just kidding, sorry for interrupting, won't happen again in this chapter. Anyway, I will continue now.

"Yes, I meet you at a Elemental ball game, then you..." Terran stopped and blushed, his eyes turning green. It was a sign that he a crush on her. "Ye, I thought you looked familiar, now I know why." Fliva said and lent against Terran.

Then suddenly Phoenix stood up. "Hypter, can I talk with you for a second." She said and started to walk away a bit from the group of dragons. "Sure." Hypter answered shortly and followed Phoenix. "Hey...it's about that once you said that I hadn't completely rejected you...it's not going to work, I'm sorry. I can't stand having a relationship when our elements are so different...it always fails...I felt I had to tell you this cause I didn't want you to get false expectations...You are a nice guy and I'm sure you can get whoever you want. But I would still very much like to be your friend." Phoenix said with a smile.

"Glad you told me...and don't be sorry, I know how you resonate. And of course we can be friends. Anyway, I will stop with trying to hit on you then. And I hope you meet someone nice too." Hypter said.

"I am really happy that you react that way. I didn't want to hurt you or anything...but friends is good right?...right?" Phoenix asked.

"Yeah well...it's hard to hurt me. And to be a friend of yours is awesome." Hypter answered. Phoenix giggled a bit and then started to walk back to the others, with Hypter following behind.

Shortly after they had joined the others there were a small rustle in a bush closely. Everyone's attention was drawn to the bush, then the rustling stopped and all continued with their talk. Then suddenly a small creature ran out from the bush and jumped up on Boltwire. "Bolty! I finally found you!" The small creature giggled. And to everyone's big surprise Boltwire didn't seem to care, in fact Boltwire seemed quite pleased to see the small creature. "Ciff! It's so good to see you again old friend but what brings you here?" Boltwire asked after the two had calmed down enough. "Bolty, n-not here in front of the strangers." Ciff said, as he jumped up on Boltwire's head and then slid down to his back, hiding from everyone. "Oh come on Ciff, don't be shy." Boltwire said, as he tried to turn around and look at his pal. The he noticed everyone was just staring at him. "...Ehm, this creature here is my oldest friend, Ciff, he can be a little shy at times..." Boltwire said.

"And he is a?" Terran asked bluntly.

"Terran, don't be so rude." Zepher corrected his brother.

"Sorry, I can be over curious some times." Terran said with an apologising look on his face.

"But I agree with Terran, what is he for something." Zepher asked as bluntly as his brother.

"And...wait, you do?" Terran asked sounding surprised.

"Well, he is a Folzie. They are small, furry creatures that lives nearby the village I come from." Boltwire explained. "They kinda reminds of small Zepher's except they are not dragons." Boltwire continued.

"Oh, can we get one big bro? Can we? Can we please? I mean, it would be like having the apartment full of miniatures of you." Terran outburst.

"W-we are not some kind of pets!" Ciff said angry.

"Oh, he didn't mean that, he just tend to be very...outspoken." Zepher explained.

"Well, if Ciff is shy then maybe we should let you be for a while." Spyro said as he stood up.

"No it's no worries." Boltwire said, "Ciff, do you mind to sit on my back while I finish the picnic with my friends?" Boltwire asked Ciff.

"Not at all but I rather sit up in that tree." Ciff said as he ran up in a nearby tree. He was very fast for being so small, the dragons just saw a little light brown blur running past.

The rest of the picnic went without much disturbance, Ciff blurred down from the tree now and then to fetch a cookie or something to drink. But otherwise the conversations went on calmly. Glade talked with Specter, Terran talked with Fliva, Zepher cuddled with Noctus, Boltwire talked with Geena and Hypter talked with Phoenix and Fening. When the food was eaten and the conversations started to die out, the friends decided that it was time to get going. The boys though had decided to meet at the local in later that night to hang around some more. Spyro declined because he should go home and spend the evening with Cynder, so he and the dragonesses took of, leaving the guys. Just before the guys should take flight Boltwire grabbed Hypter. "Hypter, could you tell the others I won't be coming either, I will be here with Ciff the rest of the day, we have a lot to talk about." Boltwire said.

"Ok, I'll tell them, see you tomorrow Boltwire." Hypter said as he took off with the others.

So the boys had their "nigh out" and went to the local inn. They all had a fun evening, talking about how boring the school was, and joking about the guardians and stuff like that. Even Hypter tried to be social and made some small chuckling sounds now and then, and made a few points, which made the others laugh. Then the subject came to the females, and no one seemed to care much about it or think it was embarrassing. But since Terran always made a bit too much noise, Zepher couldn't stop himself from teasing his younger brother a little. "Hey Terran, don't forget to breathe between the laugh and the talking ok?" Zepher said with a grin. "Having to much fun, sorry." Terran answered while he caught his breath.

"With what?" Zepher asked teasingly. Terran never answered and Glade just sat and stared at him. With still no response even Hypter butted in, in the conversation. "Indeed, what is it that is so amusing?" He asked. When Terran still didn't answer Zepher made a quick guess and said "He's off in his own little world, probably with Fliva."

Glade just stared, dumbstruck of the comment from Zepher against his own brother. And Zepher just stared back. And then Terran finally responded "No, I'm not thinking of Fliva in those ways, she just smells good, looks good and have a great personality..." To which Glade, as before just stared but this time even more dumbstruck then before. "Oh geez, is my eyes green again bro?" Terran asked Zepher, a bit embarrassed.

"Yes." Zepher answered shortly. "You must really want to be with her huh?" Zepher asked. Glade just laughed, he found it amusing to see Terran squeal and squirm at the question. "Apparently..." Terran answered shortly while blushing.

"And you are turning red again." Zepher said with a chuckle.

"Stop it bro." Terran said quick laugh as he blushed madly. Glade just continued to laugh. "And Glade is starting to cry from laughing so hard." Zepher said with a grin.

"Not really." Glade said as he managed to stop laughing before turning purple.

"Oh..." Terran said, sounding disappointed that Glade could stop laughing just like that. That made Glade chuckle a little. "Hypter is thinking of Phoenix." Zepher said all of a sudden.

"Then I have a new target." Glade said with a laugh. "Anyway, I got to go now...see you guys." Glade said and turned to smoke and vanished before Hypter had the chance to ask him what he meant. "See you." Zepher yelled after the small smoke cloud.

"Zepher even set me up on a date with her." Terran said with a chuckle, as nothing had happened after he last said anything. "Not yet but I did give you the money to go on a date with her and told you to ask her out." Zepher said.

"I thought I should go out with her tonight." Terran said, sounding disappointed.

"You are but it's not a set up." Zepher said, to which Terran lit up again.

"Oh yeah, I did it on my own..." Terran said, drifting away.

"With some convincing and support from his big brother." Zepher said.

"Yeah, we can't forget that." Terran said with a smile.

"That's what big brothers are for." Zepher said, smiling back at Terran.

"And when you mentioned that...don't you have something to get?" Hypter asked, nodding towards a brown sack not far from the table. "Oh yeah, I almost forgot." Zepher said and fetched the sack. "What's in it bro?" Terran said as he bounced on the spot of share excitement. "Open it and you'll see." Zepher said with a smile. And when Terran did so he jumped up and flew around in the inn, nearly crashing into a verity of furniture, lamps and a few dragons. "I assume you like it." Zepher said with a smile.

"I love it, you have polished my armour but how did you afford it?" Terran asked confused.

"Well, I have worked a little extra and decided to give you a little surprise." Zepher said with a smile. "Thank you, than you, than you." Terran said as he hugged his brother. "I love you bro." Terran said as he hugged Zepher closer, almost disappearing into Zepher's black fur.

"I know, and I love you two." Zepher replied with a smile.

"Oh, I almost forgot, Boltwire couldn't come...as you might have noticed." Hypter said.

"Oh right, I actually didn't notice he was gone, he have been so quiet lately." Zepher said. "For what reason is he not here?" Zepher asked.

"I didn't listen so carefully, he talks with the speed of lightning." Said with a laugh. "Anyway, he said something about that he should meet Ciff." Hypter said and rubbed the back of his head with his paw.

"Why aren't they here?" Terran asked, as curious as always.

"I don't know Terran. Ciff is obviously a bit shy, so he wanted to meet Boltwire alone" Hypter said.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the woods just outside of Warfang.

"Psst, Bolty, o-over here." A voice said, originating from behind a tree.

"Oh Ciff, it's so good to see you again, where have you been?" Boltwire asked when he walked around the tree and saw his best friend, whom he hadn't seen in a long time. "Well...I got tired of waiting for you to return so I decided to ttravel here." The little fuzzy figure stuttered, he had some problem with stuttering some times. "So that is why I haven't heard of you for so long." Boltwire exclaimed.

"Indeed b-but now when I am here...is here something to e-eat?" Ciff asked, making Boltwire laugh. "Sure, I bet my mom have started with the dinner by now. Jump up on my back and we get there in no time." Boltwire said with a smile. And the little Folzie was happy to oblige and was soon up on the black and yellow dragons back. "Just like old times, huh Boltwire?" Ciff said. "Yeah I guess...tomorrow you must meet my new friends." Boltwire said as he took of.

"You mean the dragons from earlier today? M-most of them seemed nice b-but I don't know...some of them seemed c-creepy." Ciff said a little bit worried.

"Yes I know but that is only until you get to know them." Boltwire replied with a smile. "Ciff?" Boltwire asked when the little creature didn't respond. Boltwire turned his head to see that Ciff had fallen asleep, with a tight grip around Boltwire's neck. Boltwire just chuckled when he saw it, and slowly soared through the sky. He flied through the fluffy clouds and when he was above them the moon shone bright. It really was a beautiful night but he couldn't be out for much longer so he dived through the clouds and picked up pace to get home faster.

When Boltwire and Ciff arrived at the apartment Boltwire was living in it was almost midnight and Ciff still hadn't woke up, so Boltwire decided to put the Folzie in bed. Boltwire himself was quite tired so he decided to go to sleep as well.

At the inn everyone was growing tired so they decided to head home. Hypter bid Terran and Zepher a good night as he took off towards Spyro and Cynder's house. When he arrived he let himself into the house with the key Spyro had given him. Then he went to his room and he was soon asleep.

And at Zepher and Terran's apartment the two brothers had already fallen asleep. Terran had his new polished armour beside his bed and he had a big smile on his lips. Probably dreaming about kicking bad guys butts while wearing his armor, he also gave a small kick now and then. Zepher wasn't awake but he still let out a chuckle every time Terran kicked in his sleep. Perhaps it was because the two brothers where so close, that even if they were asleep they were still both aware of what the other was doing. But then Terran kicked to hard and fell of his bed, waking both him and Zepher up. "Terran! Are you ok?" Zepher asked as he rushed over to his younger brother. "Yeah I'm fine, I'm sorry I wake you up big bro." Terran said with a grunt when he got up. "No problem but now we better go to bed again, right Terran?" Zepher asked. "Terran, are you listening?" Zepher asked when he didn't get a reply. "Oh no, he must have hit his head when he fell to the floor." Zepher said with a playful voice when he walked over to Terran, who almost couldn't keep from laughing but he still tried to be as still as possible. "Hmm, maybe it's best I go and call the doctor...I heard he had a great new medicine, what was it called now again?...Oh right, ticklish." Zepher said as he lay down beside his brother. At this point Terran was quivering a lot because he was trying not to burst out in laugh. "What I heard of it can cure anything but the side effect is that the patient begins to laugh heavily." Zepher said as he began to grin widely. "Here goes the injection." Zepher said as he began to tickle Terran, Zepher's fur contributed to a full body tickling experience from Terran, who could barely breath from all the tickling. "Ok, ok stop Zepher! I give up, I give up!" Terran yelled laughing when Zepher tickled him.

"Oh but look at that, he feels better again, it seems like the medicine helped." Zepher said with a laugh when he stopped tickling Terran and hugged his younger brother. "Yeah I'm fine." Terran giggled.

"Hey, your eyes are green again, do you think of Fliva?" Zepher asked as he lifted Terran up in his bed. "Yeah...I like her figure." Terran said with a sigh. Zepher just chuckled a little.

"I bet." Zepher said shortly.

"She's not too big but not too slim either." Terran said with a yawn.

"I see, you have checked her out." Zepher said with a short laugh when he went to bed.

"A little, and I know you have checked out Noctus a bit bro." Terran said with a giggle.

"Maybe a little but now we better go to sleep again." Zepher said as he turned around in the bed. "Yeah, you are right...but I can't fall asleep yet." Terran said.

"And why is that?" Zepher asked a little bit annoyed.

"You haven't given me a goodnight kiss on my forehead yet." Terran answered with a giggle.

"Right, I forgot about that." Zepher said with a sigh as he got up from his bed and walked over to Terran's. "Goodnight lil bro." Zepher said and kissed Terran gently on the forehead.

"Goodnight big bro." Terran replied with a giggle. And with that Zepher walked back to his bed and tucked in. After a short while they were both asleep again and once again everything was quiet in the dark apartment. But after a while Terran began to turn in his sleep again but this time it wasn't because of happy dreams...
