Short [Diary]
20th September Where should I begin? I'm a human, it's nothing special, you probably won't expect a dog to be writing this, unless you know about "furries". I should define what I mean exactly, cause there are "furries": People who are deeply connected to their animal sides... but there are also "furrs": Animals, who have human features, they are so called 'anthropomorphic' animals. Until recently I had no idea about the first or the later. But a few days ago those both changed.
I'm an average, simple person. Some call me a no-lifer, loner. I don't blame them, cause I don't feel any need to spend time with other people. I work at home, so I even rarely go out, just to do shopping and occasionally leave for the weekend to enjoy some time in the nature, while it's still there.
It was suppose to be my last trip before it would be too cold. As usual, I packed some snacks and took a bus. As it drove through the forest I was thinking about many things, like my job, my life, my family... It was one of the reasons I enjoyed nature, cause I could feel free and careless. I got off at the last stop and followed a dirt road into the deeper forest. Not much was remaining of the forest I knew from when I was a kid. Most of the trees was cut down due to the expansion of the city, leaving just a small piece of the forest for those who still like to spend their time collecting mushrooms or berries. Soon I arrived to my usual spot, which was a partly replanted forest, but still with empty space between the old trees and young ones.
I spent my time just laying on a blanket, listening to the music of the trees and birds, enjoying the floating clouds. It was one of the places where I could actually have a blank mind. Some animals go used to my presence and accepted me as their 'pet'. I could occasionally spot some rabbits jumping around pretty close. A few time I lost some sandwiches thanks to the 'locals'.
As an unexpected shade hanged over my head I opened my eyes just to see a pair of eyes looking down at me. I just kept looking into those little cute brown eyes, not sure of what should I do next. "Hi?" was my first word and in a reply I heard a high "yip". Only then I noticed the brown fur around the eyes and all over the muzzle. Yes, it had a muzzle, a short one, with a little black button nose. Little needle sharp teeth visible as I was rewarded with a smile or a warning after the yip. I reached towards my bag, pulling out a sandwich out of it and offering it to the creature. The little nose sniffled at the offering, before a pair of little furry paws snatched the sandwich. I could finally sit up and take a better look at the guest. It was a creature I had never seen before. Shaped like a little kid, while being covered with fur, having a short muzzle, a pair of ears on the head and a bushy tail wagging, while devouring the sandwich with the little teeth. I quickly took a photo of this strange being and did a search based on the image. To my surprise it didn't take long before revealing thousands of links to pictures and videos of similar creatures. After doing some reading, I found out that these creatures are called furrs, their origin isn't really known, there are speculations that they are animals who evolved or some top secret experiment that went loose. It said that they were a lot similar to both animals and humans and some people would keep them as pets or companions. That was all I read before the little creature started nibbling on my phone, probably thinking that it's a treat too.
I took me a while to get her to stop nibbling on my phone. Yes, it was a female, not much was hiding that fact, just her fur. To my surprise, she wasn't afraid of me at all, even when I tried to scare her. I spent the next few hours watching her, as she ran around the woods, chasing birds and pouncing anything that moved, being pretty energetic. She clearly had no problems running only on her two legs. If it wasn't for her fur and other animal attributes, I would say that she's an average little human kid. It was soon time for me to leave, as the last bus was about to depart. I started packing my stuff while she was still running around, not leaving my sight. As I walked back to the bus stop, I noticed her following me, not directly, but still playing around, though never stepping away than about ten meters away, so she could see me. I felt like being some kid that is being followed by a stray dog.
The bus stop was empty, as always. A note on the sign read that the bus route will be closed starting from January the first. It wasn't a surprise, taking into account that I was almost the only one who used this route. I had about ten minutes before the bus arrived, so I started thinking about the little creature that followed me up to this point and was now sitting on the bench with me.
As the bus drove towards the stop, she looked up at me and yipped loudly.
