Chapter 16: Down to this?

FERALI's POV

We approached a large body of water, the cage I was in started to descend. I grabbed my face to stop the pain that surged through it from the wind that was now blowing upwards. Then my mind began rushing about the past of how my face ended up in such a pain.

(An hour before)

Just before we left the other town Rebecca saw the mess that I made with that ice beam and decided to take another route of shutting my mouth. She put on that mask again and grew large butterfly wings from the back of her mask, and then floated to my cage. I was fast asleep at the time when she came up to cage and rocked it harshly until I awakened.

"What did you do?" She asked angrily as her voice echoed louder.

"Mmm...morning sweetheart..." I said with a lazy yawn. She grabbed on to the cage with both hands and grew very angry. The mask that she was wearing began to send a pulse throughout the entire suit. She began pulling on the cage bending the bars slightly, her eyes began to glow red along with her wings that sparkled brilliantly.

She extended her left hand inside the cave and made a reaching motion. An unseen force pressed me against the back of my head powerfully into her hand. She grabbed me by the snout on my face and squeezed down tightly.

"What did I tell you about that sweetheart comment, not only that what the fuck is this on the ground?!" She said furiously tightening her grip on my face.

"It's a warning..." Was all I had to say to her looking away in the opposite direction.

"A warning...oh so that's what you mean...that's fine I wouldn't want any needless blood on my hands, but I will get my Absol back." She said letting go of my face calming down.

"Hmph I guess you don't care how miserable you make others just as long as you get what you want." I said rubbing my snout.

"What are you talking about?" She asked in a confused way.

"You're kidding me right? You have the ability to read minds and yet you couldn't tell how she felt." I said falling backwards on to the other side of the cage away from her.

"I don't know what you're talking about she did everything that I commanded, and she respected me. There is nothing more she could have wanted or need from an owner." She said as her suit began to return to its previous blue and white state.

She let go of the cage and began descending back to the ground. The monitor on top of the cage began to flicker and then turn on. She appeared on the monitor with her mask gone she began walking again and my cage began moving again. Looking up into the monitor I notice she didn't have her hair braided anymore instead it was really wavy. I thought I could probably use this to my advantage.

"Hey what are you thinking about up there?"

"Dammit..." I said muttering to myself. "Wait what are you talking about can't you just read my mind?"

"Yeah I should...what the hell are you doing up there, how are you able to block me...wait don't tell me..." She said putting her hand on her head.

"Yeah it told me what you did and reading my mind won't be happening again." I said telling her making myself sound as threatening as possible.

"Hmm...it may seem that way for now, but that won't stop any of my other attacks. And mentally attacking you again will probably kill that thing inside you and whatever brains you have left." She said as an insult.

I see that we were heading north of the town. So I decided that it'd be best to try and change the subject.

"So what's up with the hair all of a sudden, didn't like the braided look eh?"

"What you like the wavy look?" She said flicking her hair like how Krystal would.

"Maybe just be sure to not pull back your punches. I love it when women try and dominate me." I said trying to regain my composure. "But I'm more into the curly look myself, if you know what I mean." I said teasing her.

"Yeah well let's see how much you're into it from beyond the grave."

"Geez your no fun...I like women who are not so uptight." I said as I huffed at her turning away from the monitor.

"I haven't always been like this, but I'm sure you wouldn't care. I'm sure as usual you see me as a monster..." She said turning away from the monitor as well. My eyes widen once I heard that statement. "'As usual?' What are you talking about...Rebecca are you saying we once knew each other?"

"I'm talking too much; you'll know what you and I share together soon enough." She said with a sad voice, but continues her pace through the exit of the town. "Oh yeah 'fyi' I don't think I could ever kill you..." The monitor went off immediately afterwards.

My head instinctively jerked towards monitor in shock. She knew something but wasn't letting on easily; it's very annoying having something so close yet so very far away. All I could do was by at my time and get some rest till we arrive at the lake.

(Back to the present)

And that's how my face ended up in the condition that it's in, but nothing life threatening.

As the cage neared the ground my heart began racing, there was no telling what could be awaiting me once I reached the ground.

I felt a slight bump as the cage touched the ground floor and opened up. I immediately stepped out and started examining the environment around me. Everything was so peaceful and calm and the lake was a still as the leaves in the trees. There was no sound only that of the wild life taking place in the nearby woods, just silence.

I then started looking around for Rebecca only to see that she was leaning up against a tree with her eyes closed. Why would she not want to do anything about me being out, I mean not even so much as to try and restrain me?

With her eyes still closed she used her left hand and pointed to the lake. I decided to follow her movement and look out to the center of the lake. I saw a small figure standing out in the center of it with its arms folded.

"And this is going to be one hell of a party!" The voice in my head said very loudly as it returned.

"What are you talking about 'party'; I'm here for answers not celebrating."

"Oh you're going to have so much fun learning about yourself might as well call it a party."

"Whatever I'm not going to play the riddle game with you today, just keep up mind guard duty for a while longer so she won't be able to read my mind." I said reaffirming its mission.

"Yeah yeah I know I know just remember I can't keep it up forever so if you do have to do anything make it quick ok?" The voice said fading away.

The figure in the middle of the unwrapped its arms and turned around to my direction. I dropped down into my defensive stance. There was no telling what could happen next and I wasn't going to take any chance in not being ready.

The figure in the water began walking towards me very slowly, and then in a blink of an eye it stood only two meters ahead of me. There stood a being that was just a little bit shorter than I was, and head was in the shape of a stone statue face. It was very dull and lifeless with the exception of its eyes which were bright red. Its body was the same as Rebecca's skin tight blue suit, which led me to believe that it was human.

"Ah so it would seem you've completely mastered how this body works." It said as its voice echoed very loudly.

It started reaching out to me with its right hand. I made a slapping motion to its hand to keep it from touching me, but then jumped back to see when my hand passed through its right arm. There was a puff a smoke that appeared once I made contact with it.

I immediately jumped backwards again preparing myself to take the worst of whatever it could do. Crouching down I smiled as ice then began to form over my hands, I wanted it to make the first move before I just threw myself to it.

"You would dare bare your fangs at your father?" The voice then echoed.

"My father..."

KRYSTAL's POV As Sasha and I kept running at full speed I could only hope that we weren't too late to getting there. I tried to remain optimistic so far but the closer we got the destination the more I came over with doubt. I guess there no such thing as optimism anymore only nativity. Though I can't let either one slow me down.

We were fast approaching the end of route 43 and going to be at The Lake of Rage sooner than I expected. As we made our way through the tall bushes that were in the path there were a few wild and weak Pokémon, but nothing a quick jab or two couldn't fix.

The path that leads to the lake was right in front of us; we both turned to look at each and then pressed on with determination. We slowed down to a creeping halt as we passed what seemed to be a point of no return, atleast it seemed that way in my mind.

Sasha and I quickly dashed to a nearby tree to make ourselves seem invisible to whatever could be waiting here.

Then we heard voices coming from the right of where we were. I quickly crouched down and placed my right hand on Sasha head lowering her down as well with me. Although the place was as quiet as anyplace it could possibly be it was still hard of hearing what was going on. Using my left free hand I made a sign telling Sasha to ease forward along with me. She nodded and complied with me.

Now on my stomach I inched closer and closer to the voices I began to hear them more clearly. I lifted my head up a bit to see who was talking.

I gasped and lowered my head quickly once I saw Ferali he had ice formed around his hands, but he wasn't in a fighting stance he just stood there with both arms to his side. He looked very confused and scared as if he'd seen a ghost I couldn't see what he was looking at though, so I would have to ease closer in.

Making the hand sign again Sasha and I inched in closer till I was in a position to take a quick look at whoever he was talking to. Once I was in position to see who he was talking to I heard a voice first before I was able to take a peak.

"You can come out now, no need to hide here. I guess one could say it's a family reunion, Hehe atleast for me that is." A voice echoed.

"Guess the jig is up Sasha." I said whispering to her as I stood up to who it was. There was a creature unlike I've ever seen before, it looked human, but its face gaze off a creepy lifeless feeling. This voice though it sounds like the one who attacked me in the forest and told me to come here. "I assume you must be the problem of all this, and if I were to get rid of you all my problems would disappear."

"Is that so now? Still as rude as ever I guess, you sorry excuse of life...I mean don't you want to say, 'hi' to the one you traveled so far to catch?" It said making an obvious reference to Ferali.

"Oh come on one problem at a time, I'll have to kill him later, but you I'm going to have fun with right now." I said dropping into a fighting stance.

Ferali seemed really out of it, I mean he didn't even look back to me when I made that statement. There's no telling what that thing could have done to him.

Sasha stood up beside me getting into a ready stance of her own. She was shaking quite a bit as if nervous about something. I hope the story I told to her isn't making her this afraid of this creep or else things could go badly.

"Sasha calm down." I said whispering to her.

"Head Lady, I feel her..." She said in a crazed tone.

"Who are you talking abou-." Was all I could say before my hands came together by themselves and lifted above my head. "What the hell?!" I yelled as I was being lifted off the ground.

"Oh look what I hooked father...a failure." I women with golden blonde hair said stepping from behind a tree. "And look she brought my Absol with her."

"Don't you dare touch her!" I yelled as loud as I could try to intimidate her.

"Rebecca stop teasing her and hold her steady, she needs to know everything just like him." He said placing a hand on Ferali's shoulder.

Ferali remained quiet and zoned out as if he were high on some kind of drug. What he could have done to Ferali to really have that sort of effect on him, Ferali was always kind of emotionally unstable, but that was due to him thinking he was once human. At this point I don't know what to believe.

Sasha lowered herself to the shaking inside the dirt, that's when I truly saw that we've lost before the fight even began. Even when things seem there lowest, if we can work together we can get out of this.

"Your name is Krystal correct? Wait of course it is I don't think I'll ever forget the name of the person who made me the laughing stock of the science community." The creature said walking away from Ferali and closer to me. Its eye glow bright red and then to a darker color of red with every step that it took closer to me.

"What the hell are you talking about 'laughing stock' I've never seen you before a day in my life."

The creature then turned away from me lowering its head. At this point a white line began to run up the back of its head to the front of its face. Its head started splitting in two and fell to both sides of its face. A long braided piece of black hair fell from the back of its head, which was completely hidden inside the bald statue-like head. The two folds that were on the on the side of this persons face began shimmering with light and flew away as if it were dust.

When the man turned to face me my heart felt as if it were going to fall into my stomach. It was the face of my lost beloved, I couldn't say anything. Now I think I know what Ferali must be going through, but he shouldn't know who Max is?

"So where have you been? Why have you been doing this? Did I not mean anything to you?" I asked as tears now fell from my face.

"Krystal I couldn't take being around you anymore, you were to bossy, and a freak. I decided to move on to better things rather than be hindered by a monster like you!" Max said yelling to the top of his voice.

"But I did everything you taught me, I did everything for you..." I said with not only my body losing hope, but my spirit as well.

"And tell me what have you achieved if you did everything I taught you? You only bring misery and pain to others and everything around you. To be honest you're only good for one thing really, but not worth the effort of explaining what it is. So I'll completely break you both physically and mentally." Max said as he approached me.

"Rebecca..." He said snapping his fingers together.

I felt my body jerk roughly and then slammed into the ground. Max stood above me gazing down at me very menacing. I eyes widen as I realized what he was trying to do, and I tried to struggle as hard as I could but nothing. Rebecca's psychic grip on me was far too strong and the others were to out of it to be of any help.

'So this is the end of my life, if this guy I once loved do this to me I'll kill myself before I have to live with shame like this.' I thought to myself as I closed my eyes. 'This is what I get for believing in others, placing my hope and faith in someone besides myself.'

FERALI's POV

'It worked flawlessly.' I thought to myself as I saw that son a bitch position himself over Krystal. I rather be killed before I let that monster have his way.

I looked over to where the man was where he had his right arm in the air, from where he snapping his fingers at Rebecca. With the ice still formed around my hands I reached out and grabbed his arm quickly with my right hand and squeezed tightly. This caused ice to form around his entire upper arm.

His eyes widen when he turned to me and saw what was happening. He immediately jerked his arm backwards.

This caused me too instinctively to use my left hand ice-gauntlet, to completely shatter his right arm.

"AHHHH!!!!" He yelled very loudly stumbling then jumping backwards to distant himself from me.

"Father!" Rebecca screamed in concern. "Max! How dare our hurt father!" She yelled running to our father's aid. "I sensed no mental activities from you..." She said holding father up. "You're much clever than I thought... you used that thing inside your mind to block my psychic sensing so I wouldn't see you as a threat." She said in amazement.

"That bastard is no father of mine and if you're my sister what the fuck would possess you to even go a long with a plan like that. You're just as crazy as he is, and you know the only reason I don't want to hurt you is what you told me earlier." I said turning my attention away from her and towards Krystal who was just lying there on the ground. "Krystal I'm going to need your and Sasha's help for this one, I'll explain everything that's happened today later, but for now we need to stick together." I said holding my hand out to Krystal.

She had a very dull facial expression, as if she'd given up all hope. She just stared up at the sky looking for something to put her out of her misery.

Sasha shook with fear of what just happened, but she was able to stand and join me at my side. We both looked down to Krystal, and started yelling to her to snap her out of her trance.

"Head Lady, please get up if we fight together we can beat them." Sasha yelled to her with a weird title that I've never heard before.

"Krystal that isn't Max, just evil in disguise, don't let him deceive you. You much stronger than that so GET UP!" I yelled squirting water into her face.

"Ferali...Sasha?" She said taking her left hand and rubbing her face.

"That's it partner now stand!" I yelled to her as she took hold of my right hand and pulled herself up.

"Ferali..." She said blushing. "We're going to have a long talk once this is all over."

"Planned on it." I said turning my gaze over to the two who are causing all this.

My father stood up with a missing right arm smiling towards the three of us. It was a smile that'll haunt you for a while; he had a murderous intent look into his eye. His sights were set dead on us especially me; I don't think he'll be forgiving me for removing one of his arms. Rebecca stepped in front of him holding her arm out with her palm open to us.

"You'll pay dearly for that brother..." She said as her mask began forming around her face. The wings on the back of her head were about five and a half feet large which almost her entire body height was.

"And you're going to have to start with me first." Krystal said as she dropped into a fighting stance.

"A mindless failure such as you is no match for my power!" Rebecca yelled as her voice echoed across the lake.

I began looking towards my father right pass Rebecca, and look him deep into the eyes thinking, 'So it's Comes down to this? Father and son out to kill each other over ones ego...'
