Wolf

It was strange for the white haired young man to be working on a farm with his dad while just months ago he had never even been to a zoo before in his life. Sadly, it was all thanks to his mother and her new boyfriend and the fact that he didn't feel comfortable around a sixteen-year-old boy. The guy wasn't really bad it was just that he was just a self centered and pompous asshole. Tall, with black hair, hazel green eyes, well toned and his mother's favorite, well off. The man, who's name was Ethan, was a werewolf who was some type of a corporate mogul or something that by chance met his mother at some art gallery that she had dragged her son off to one night in order to teach him some 'culture'.

The young man's name was David Redfang and he was your average teenager; six feet tall, tanned skin, azure eyes, white hair, athletic, muscular and some what of a geek. He was both captain of the soccer team at his high school, Seven Brother High, as well as the computer class's highest marked student. His friends always teased him that he should focus solely either soccer or computers because it was hard to put a distinctive label on David. He was both cool and a nerd but that seemed to suit the white haired teenager just fine since it didn't make him one of the popular kids or one of the unpopular kids. You know those type, the ones who had the entire school knowing about their business, what food they like, when they did something it was all over the high school and whatever they said became like a law around the grounds of the high school area and even part of the community. Or on the other side of the spectrum those people that you totally pitied because they caught real hell throughout the four years in school.

Take for example Marcus Atwight, he was a blond jock who had ever girl hanging off of him and made all the guys want to be him He could say just about anything and everyone would immediately stop what they were doing just to pay him attention. The nerds all feared him because Marcus would stuff a few in their own lockers and even hang a couple on the flagpole outside. He never got in trouble because his father was the principal and no one wanted to have to tell their parents that they suspended just because the principal's kid said something to his old man.

Then there was Alicin Marshal who was the most beautiful and popular girl in the school. She was a black haired goddess amongst the pretty, preppy girls and the cruelest witch to others not so pretty girls. She flaunted herself around like some sort of queen and made everyone listen to her every word. Alicin was about five foot eight, black haired with a few streaks of auburn dancing through her mane, black eyes, that sickly pale skin all girls tried to get with make-up and other cosmetics, the captain of the cheerleading squad and the best pick for the Summer Queen.

In comparison there was Meelak Daniels who was the captain of the computer club and the science team. He was a true nerdy guy who stood about five foot five, black hair, brown eyes, really dark skin, incredibly shy but also incredibly smart. He got teased the easiest in school and was always looked down upon by the bigger and stronger guys. He rarely spoke in class and was always seen slinking around when it was time to change classes doing all he could to keep from notice. Give him a math equation or a computer-programming question and he could answer it better and easier than the teachers and it caused him to be ridiculed constituently.

David didn't want to be like either of the three since he had enough problems of his own. He did not need people hanging off of him at every turn and David especially didn't want to be teased like some of the other students. David looked around some days and wondered why people could be so cruel to each other when no one was really any better than the other. Some might appear more handsome or beautiful than others, a few had more money than the rest and some were just a little smarted but in the end did any of it matter. David couldn't help but snort at the presumptions of some of the kids when they thought they were so much better and in the end were worst than others, especially personality wise.

All those girls who were so stuck up and judgmental, the guys who had more muscles than brains and would end up flunking out, the rich ones who flaunted around their wealth but had no friends just leeches around them, and then their were some of the more dangerous ones. The students that smelled like things best left unsaid and avoided for instance gunpowder, blood, hate, anger and malice. It was a good thing that David was what he was so he could alert the principal when it came down to the important things like the student who had the firearms and drugs in his locker.

The principal had asked David how did he know about what the student had and he could only reply...

"I saw something fall out of his locker on time and it looked suspicious. I remembered the school's safety report that was handed out at the beginning of the year and just acted on instinct." the white haired teen told the older man before being sent to class

What David hadn't said was that he had smelled the gunpowder on the kid's hand and had heard him on the phone talking about it to someone else one day after school let out. It was really by accident that David was on the other side of the school building where the teen was because he was supposed to have met someone later on that day.

Back up a moment, how had David had smelled gunpowder on someone's hand when he wasn't even up close to the other student and how had he heard him talking on a phone at least a yard away? That was easy, he was a werewolf.

That's right, David Redfang was one grade 'A' class human wolf. His father happened to be a human and his mother was the werewolf, by sheer irony. She was the one who turned into a wolf when the full moon came out or when she got made or agitated. Lily Redfang, now Lily Myers since she got married to David's father Joseph Myers fourteen years ago. They had gotten together by accident when Lily was in heat and Joseph had been out walking late one night. She had waited until the right time to strike and when the unsuspecting Joseph came with leaping distance she was on him in a blur of red and black fur.

In her heat she didn't care that he was a human and had probably never seen a human wolf before but in her lust crazed state Lily couldn't have given a damn. She was burning with the need to mate and her body was longing for a male to fill her and sate the fire with his seed issuing new life into her womb. Joseph on the other hand was scared within an inch of his life to see a rabid dog (what he thought at the time) growling above him and tearing at his clothes. The 'dog' was out of control and Joseph had tried with every thing he was to shove the canine away and get out of the park to no avail. One hundred plus pounds of lust crazed canine wasn't going anywhere anytime soon and so neither was Joseph, when the wolf had finally gotten him completely naked and started to sniff at his growing erection (why he was aroused he didn't know but he was mortified at finding the encounter, kinky) the man thought he was done being a man that night. One bite and it was over if the thing only just stopped there and decided to not rip his throat out after it was done.

Heart racing and manhood standing up like a flagpole Joseph closed his eyes and hoped to god he lived through the ordeal. When warmth like a sauna wrapped itself around him the naked man looked to see something he had only seen back in the country, all-be-it the other way around. The wolf was a bitch that had sat her self onto him Joseph and was humping up and down like mad.

Long story short, Lily had changed back after Joseph had cum into her about three times that night and explained what had happened. She was a werewolf and she just had his pup, or would in the next six months. Blown away Joseph took at least ten minutes to process the entire event and then shook his head while rubbing his forehead. Then did what most men wouldn't do...he pledged to married her when she came of age at eighteen. Though the pup wouldn't wait that long and six months later a silver white furred wolf cub was born to the two.

Lily's pack was furious that she had birthed a human wolf with more than half human blood (werewolves are humans that have wolven blood within them so that makes them actually fifty percent human and fifty percent wolf) and demanded that she give up the pup. Though at the age of sixteen maternal instincts were more in control of her than rational sense and Lily choose to leave her pack for Joseph. The twenty-one year old was thankful well employed with some company or another, living in his own apartment, drove a nice Toyota and had no problem adjusting to a pregnant werewolf teenager living with him (well, after a few days getting situated).

After the pup was born he was named David Redfang; David after Joseph's father David Myers and Redfang for his status in Lily's wolf pack Lily kept her pack name even though she had abandon her kind they were the only she had ever known). Then two years later Lily married Joseph and everything was sunshine and roses...until...

"I want a divorce Joseph." Lily had come in to the house after getting off from her job as a clerk at a fashion company and casually walked up to her husband and made her announcement

A now thirty four year old Joseph was taken aback while he was sitting at his desk in the den working on his financials. The raven haired, green eyed, deep tanned skin man looked up from what he was doing to stare at his wife. He slid from his oak wood desk and stood up to look at his wife in the eye before speaking...

"What did you say?" the man was sure he was hearing things and wanted to be sure before he said something really stupid

"I want to get a divorce." The small golden haired, blue eyed, pale skinned woman said as she looked up to her husband with a defiant glare on her petite face

"Might I know the reason why you decided to tell me this all of a sudden?"

"I've been feeling like I need to move on with my life and I can't do that with you. I know that I said that you are my mate and you always will be but I need something more than just a mate I need someone who..."

"Someone is more than financially complacent than I am. Someone who is willing to give you the world and is not afraid to spend his last dime to do so. Someone who is more than what I am and can give you everything you want in a partner and husband. Is that what you were trying o say?" Joseph walked the distance between himself and his wife and looked down at her with a solemn look before embracing her and nuzzling the top of her head

Lily started to cry and gripped her husband in her thin arms and held him in a death grip. Joseph had some inclining that his wife wanted more out of life, more than just the apartment, more than the car, more than the human she had married. She wanted a wolf like herself and Joseph wasn't a wolf. He was a normal, average, everyday man who did his best to provide for his family and had no problem adjusting to the fact that he couldn't be what his wife wanted. The man had suspected the first time he had met his father-in-law by werewolf standards (even though she had left the pack the alpha male looked over all of his pack and that included his adopted daughter) and it wasn't hard to imagine that his wife craved the raw power that spilled out from every pour of her kind's body.

Animalistic, savage, dominating, and intoxicating. Those where the only words that did justice to the aura that werewolves held about themselves. They were, for all accounts, feral creatures and their human blood was the only source of control for a very wild race of beings. How could a human ever hope to stand in comparison to a person who was more beast than man and had no qualms about displaying his primal side for all to see? A person/creature that could bench press a car as if it were nothing more than a paper weight, run faster than the wind, see and smell a thousands times better than everyone around him, and glowed with a invisible but almost tangible sexual prowess that few even understood.

What could Joseph hope to say before his wife's silent plea for him to leave with at least his dignity intact before she set out on the prowl for someone else?

Without a word Lily backed away from her husband and mate and handed him a file filled with divorce papers to sign before leaving the room so she wouldn't have to bear witness to her betrayal of Joseph's love. Joseph sat himself down and looked over the papers carefully before smirking at Lily's well practiced handwriting filling up the space for her signature and approval. She had already planned this a while back since the ink was dry and didn't smudge under Joseph's fingers brushing over the papers like his own personal death certificate.

Days later everything was finalized and Lily Myers was no more, now she had returned to being Lily Redfang, a werewolf without a pack or a mate. Joseph had reassured Lily that even though they wouldn't be together legally that if at anytime she needed him he would be there for her. The two ex-married couple separated on June 14, 2005 and then had the hardest decision ever to make...

Decide who David should stay with.

The fifteen year old had no idea that his parents had split up and now both had to tell him the bad news and worse, he had to choose between them. It was an explosion of emotion as the young man sat in front of his parents only to be told the news of the last few days and be presented with a choice no child should have to make. Stand between both of the people he loved the most and make a decision on who would take the majority of raising him. The youth broke down in tears as he hugged his mother and begged her to reconsider this whole thing and that it had to be a huge mistake and that they should work it out together.

Joseph smiled as he patted his son on the head and told him something that David would remember forever...

"David, no matter what you think your mother and I love one another but we aren't what each other needs. We both have to step away and find out who we are and what is best for us but never forget that you are the only precious thing we have in this world. We both love you with all our hearts and want you to be happy but no matter what think of your own happiness as well." the onyx haired man stoke his son's brilliant ivory colored mane and looked his first love in the eyes while smiling

David cried for a hour with both his parents holding him and ushering away his doubts about himself and what would happen later on. After the waterworks dried up the young man chose his mother to live with but made his father promise to call him every weekend and come see whenever he could. The older man made an even better promise when he pulled out a pair of keys and dangled them before his son.

"These keys go to a decently priced car that I bought years back. The car had been worked on and remodeled so it looks better than it did when I had it years ago. All this year and next I'm going to teach you how to drive and when you get your driver's license I want you to come see me whenever you feel like it. I plan to move out into the country and try to raise a ranch so when you decide you want to visit your old man you can take the car and drive out to see me."

On that day David realized just how much his parents cared for him and hugged them both with everything he had before getting up and walking to his room with the keys in his hand.

Fast forward a year and a half, David had been as happy when the first days of summer came, without a word to his mother the youth immediately took off for his father's small ranch and was down the road to the countryside in minutes. Once he made it to his old man's place and saw Joseph outside walking around doing something or another David parked the car just a few feet from the driveway, rushed out, and tackled his old man to the grass. The thirty five year old Joseph Myers had been surprised to see his son but he recalled that his son had promised to visit as soon as possible after he completed his driving lessons and got that small piece of paper with his face and I.D. on it. Completely unaware of his surroundings, being so happy to see his dad, David failed to notice three very large dogs bounding across the field towards him but he did notice the force of one of the canines ramming into him.

One of the dog's head butted David off of his owner and out of the way before looking over at his master and then turning to growl at the white haired boy. The other two came up beside their companion and sniffed in David's direction before baring their fangs as well. Instinct made David retaliate when the young man growled out and started changing into a were.

"Daniel! Sam! Max! Down now!" Joseph roared out as he called his three dogs back and to his side

The three large bred dogs pulled back at hearing their master's commands and slunk back but kept a careful eye on the intruder. David stopped his transformation just as his teeth began to full lengthen and his ears started to lengthen. Amber eyes closed and returned to deep blue with a blink before the white haired teen calmed down and looked at the other animals around him.

One was a large Doberman pincer, deep black from head to toe, a chocolate underbelly, and two really cute pointed ears black eyes weighing about one hundred pounds of solid muscle. Lethal and beautiful at the same time this dog Daniel was sheer power wrapped in a canine shell. Daniel seemed t be the leader as he was the first to greet David and looked like he could rip out the young man's throat as soon as look at him. David wondered who would win in a fight of dominance between the two of them to himself while looking to the others.

Sam was a husky that was covered in white and blue fur, he had two mismatched eyes one brown and one blue, weighing about one hundred and ten pounds of hard muscle while radiating cunning prowess with an animalistic energy that rival many weres David had met. He looked like the beta of the group by the way he was holding his head lower than Daniel's.

Last was Max a golden retriever that was the smallest of the dogs present but no less magnificent. Rich golden fur, bright blue eyes, floppy ears hanging on side of his head, weighing at least ninety-five pounds and something else. Something that seemed familiar to David but the young man couldn't place it. It was almost familiar and yet foreign but his senses were of no use as the young man as he tried to use them to determine what about this dog was different from the others. Whatever it was got lost the minute that Max looked away from David back up to his master without turning eye to eye with the white haired teen again.

"David, I know you said you would be coming out as soon as possible but I thought you would wait and enjoy the summer in the city first before traveling all this way to see me!" Joseph told his son while walking up to him and wrapping his arms around the wiry teenager

"I couldn't wait another day to come see you! I wanted to spend all summer with you!" the white haired teen was so happy that he felt his body changing into his other form

"Does your mother know about this?" Joseph asked while knowing the answer, but just to be sure

"Well...no. I didn't even tell her I was coming. I kinda just rushed out of the house. I didn't bother to even bring my stuff." David laughed bashfully at his own impetuousness

"David..." Joseph looked at his son with accusation in his eyes

"I know. I know. I call her on your phone as soon as we get inside." David waved his hands in surrender in front of himself to avoid a coming lecture

"What happened to your cell phone?" Joseph asked remembering the wireless contraption he had bought for his son six months ago when he turned sixteen

"It got kinda wet." David looked at his side to avoid saying what really happened in full detail

"Wet?" the feeling of prophetic knowing crept back into Joseph's mind

"Well you see..." David started but was stopped by a hand

"No, tell me when we get inside, so I can sit down for this one." Joseph led his son back into the house a couple of yards away all the while being tailed by three suspicious canines

Once inside David explained that his phone had gotten wet when he was pushed into the school fountain by one of the jocks by accident when he was walking to the computer lab. He reassured Joseph that it was an accident because the person in question was actually one of his school friends Derrick Thomas. Derrick was actually one of the local weres that went to school at Seven Brother's High and got along well with the white haired quarter werewolf. Standing at six feet, two inches, one hundred and eighty pounds of muscle and the beta second only to the alpha of the Redfang pack it was no surprise that he was a football jock.

The astonishing thing was that he was a buddy with a quarter werewolf who was not within the pack. The pack was usually very protective of those within their order or society and since Lily had yet to return it would seem that they would take to kindly to another wolf around them. Surprisingly most weres got along with David despite Lily's choice t exclude herself and he pup from the pack and no one messed with him in a violent way. There were the occasional wolf who tried to antagonize the white haired boy every once in a while but when David put them in their place most left him in peace. Being the captain of a soccer team gave the youth an added advantage to use his werewolf blood to keep himself ahead of others and be gain muscles in his body. So when challengers appeared to test him David could set them straight without much hassle.

The good thing was that after he fought off one of his so called opponents many of the other pack teens looked to him as a member even though he wasn't part of the pack by law. Even werewolves have their own laws when it came to their pack and how the order was run but the teen wolves had their own set of rules. Rules that said that a wolf was a wolf if he could prove himself and David had. So he became friends with a few of them and most just treated the white haired boy with respect.

The cell phone had been ruined once it hit water so David traded the one he had for another, which he should have gotten days ago but things happen...

"Well we can see about that tomorrow, anyway call your mother and I'll fix lunch. Steak alright?" Joseph asked while heading to the kitchen

"Always, where your phone by the way?" David looked around but didn't see a landline anywhere in the den area

"In my room, third door on the right next to the bathroom."

David turned to walk the down the hall when three sets of eyes could be felt on the young man's back. Whipping around David saw the dogs glaring at him and while not moving or growling he felt their annoyance at his presence. The white haired teen huffed before lowering himself down onto the floor and barking at them. The Doberman walked over slowly and sniffed at the young man.

Jaws set firmly in a thin line; Daniel looked into the eyes of a kindred spirit and gazed at David with some kind recognition or maybe assessment. The white haired youth waited patiently to see if he would have a fight on his hands but when nothing happened after a minute the other two dogs moved up to David and sniffed him as well. The husky and golden retriever sniffed all over the human wolf and then barked in the teen's face before knocking him over.

David started laughing which drew his father's attention and caused the older man to see what was happening. Looking down Joseph saw that his familiars and his heir were roughhousing playfully with each other like a bunch of puppies. David was on the bottom of the pile with Sam and Max over him licking at his pale face and Daniel watching silently just a foot away but not joining in the fun.

"I thought you were calling your mother." the older man said more than asked as he watched on amusedly

"I had to just establish where I stood in the pecking order around here and so far I seem to just be another one of the pack. Hahaha..." David said before a doggy tongue ran over his face and another on his neck making the youth laugh and sputter

"Well make sure you do before I have her running down here in fur wondering what happened to you." Joseph told his only child as he returned to see about lunch

David nodded before playing around a little more and then stopping with Max over him looking down with those mysterious azure eyes of his and a long red tongue hanging out dripping saliva onto his face. Looking into dark blue eyes that familiar feeling crept into David's mind and heart as he stared at the golden furred dog. Daniel growled at Max, which made the dog jot away and over where the Doberman was still sitting right along side Sam. David brushed the feeling away for a second time and then went to find the phone but not before looking back at his new friends.

Opening his father's room David found the phone and called his mother who ranted at him about leaving without telling him and questioning about 'just how long he was staying with Joseph'. Saying all summer the female werewolf said nothing and then told him to come home if he needed anything and he said he would be back later tonight to pick up a few things for the next three months. Telling David that she wouldn't be home she asked if she could pack anything but the young man assured his mother that he would take care of things and wished her a good night with Ethan and then hung up.

Returning to the den area, David watched as his father put two steaks in the oven and then carried three bowls outside. The older man set the dishes down and then whistled for the three dogs who ran over from the other side of the yard. Each of the canines rushed to a bowl before scarfing down the food that was inside with ravenous vigor. David looked and then scented the air before looking up at his dad.

"You feed them real food? Why not the regular dog food?" the white haired boy asked

Joseph pointed at the three and then David found three angry glares focused on him. The youth laughed nervously before backing up and turning back to look at his father.

"Oh..." David said

"Yeah, found that they don't particularly like dog food when they refused to eat and end up brining back a bunch of dead rabbits to eat instead. Turned my stomach to see all that blood covering them and it was at that point that I fixed them chicken, bread, and gravy instead. Kept them from hunting and brining back their kills and my stomach from coughing up breakfast." Joseph replied remembering the day when he had to watch his pets tear through the rabbits they had caught ad the pitiful look on the rabbits dead faces

Joseph ushered his son back inside and when steaks where done cooking and then both sat down in the kitchen to eat. Remembering that his son preferred his meat slightly on the raw said the older man didn't cook them as long as he would have liked. Living with a werewolf for sixteen years changed a lot of what the man ate and he grew used to semi-cooked foods, well almost.

"David..." looking up from his meal blue eyes settled on his father curiously

"You plan to stay until school starts again, correct?" David's fathers asked as to shift around plans he made for this month

"Yes, is something wrong?" the white haired ten asked with trepidation

"No, but I will need your help around the place and with a few more things." Joseph said to calm his son's fears

"I don't mind helping out!" if that was all there was to it then this would be a snap David thought in the back of his mind. The teenager had lots of energy and didn't mind using it to help around the place

"Well hear me out first. The ranch itself doesn't need much help but from time to time I do help out my neighbors with errands that they need help with. There's Miss Erire, the old lady that runs the local grocery, I help her carry her heavier shipments inside since she refuses to ask for help. Stubborn lady but very sweet for sixty-six. Then there's Kenneth who has the pound a mile from the grocery and he needs help with the dogs he keeps over night for some of the people around here. Good guy by a little on the...procrastinate side. He keeps the dogs and feeds them but when it comes to walking and playing with them he lets his time slip away, he's twenty-five. Next there's Gray who runs the farm down the road a bit and he needs help harvesting crops and bundling them up for shipment. He's getting close to ready to harvest his crops within the next week and he's thirty something. And that's just the start..." Joseph said while counting off the list of people he helps out from time to time

David listened avidly as his father rattled off the things he did around the small community before looking up at his dad.

"Don't worry about it! I can do anything you need me to in order to help out so just count on me!" David said while pulling up his arm making a muscle, the ultimate sign of male diligence when proclaiming to do something

Joseph laughed and ate the last of his steak with his son in silence before getting up and taking the dishes to be washed while David pulled his car into the drive way. Coming back to the house David collected the dog bowls all the while looking around for the three canines. Shrugging at not finding them the white haired youth carried the dishes inside and then called out for his dad.
