What if...

"Hm... what do we have in the mail today."

The draolf hopped over the back end of his couch, landing on the cushions as he sorted through the mail in his hands. Tossing envelops onto the coffee table every now and again. "Bill. Bill. Credit Card. Bill. Bank statement. Spam. Letter from parents." He stopped at the last envelope and a brow arched up. "The Air Force?" He sat up, hming a bit.

His father was in the Air Force. As Kaji was a brat from that military branch. It's strange that he wouldn't go into that area even though he could fly and be a great service to the country. But as it's been shown at home and with friends, his stubbornness would get in the way of things. He's also too tall for some of the branches.

The draolf laid back down on the couch, holding the envelope over his head as he snickered a bit. Thoughts playing through his head as he mutters, "Oh, I really shouldn't do anything with this. Just toss it." He dropped it onto the coffee table and let out a yawn. His day, being rather tiring, caught up with him and he just konked out on the couch.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The sky was bright and clear. Streaks of cirrus clouds wisping across the canvas the altitude gave the world. Below the roars of jets screamed by, tearing through clouds. Causing them to streak and dissipate.
The soft crackle of static before a voice could be heard. "Black Night. Where're you. My reading show that you're not moving. Is everything alright?"
A soft laugh came before he answered. "I'm alright, General. I'm just scouting out the high altitudes. It looks to be all clear up here, sir."
"Good to know. But, I need you on the ground. There's an airport nearby that needs to be taken care of." A low growl echoed through the com link, apparently the general was angry at something.
"Acknowledged, sir. Black Night on his way." Soft crackles of lightning sounded underlying his voice before he stepped to the edge of the cloud he was standing on. The draolf looking down, his sight filled with jets careening through the sky. Missles launched and then colliding with others. His face went stoic before he let out a breath. "Let's get this party started."
The lightning vanished, dropping the draolf through the clouds as he folded his wings in. His ears folding back as his eyes narrowed. Rolling out of the way of a jet, his gaze flicked to the side. Cursing as his wings flared, snapping out quicker than he'd liked to have as he flipped backwards. Bullets whizzing past his body before he tumbled in the air.
"Target locked. Black Night in sight. Warn home base."
The voice echoed through Kaji's com which made the draolf grin before he brought a hand back. "Thanks for the entrance crash." A low growl before he let loose a surge of flames. Crashing into the opposing jet, getting sucked into the engines and melting the cockpits glass.
An explosion caused the craft to shudder and then careen down through the sky towards the ground. Leaving the draolf floating in the air to watch it. The pilot ejecting into the fray. His wings beat once, then folded in. Descending once more through the clouds. A beeping sound started to repeat in his ear and he glanced behind him. Two missiles had curved out of nowhere and shot towards him.
"Tch... Great." His wings flared open once more before lightning crackled over them. His eyes looked at the horizon before he just vanished. The projectiles curved back around, already locked onto the hybrid as he reappeared behind them. Lightning dangling from his arms as he cracked them like whips. His arms lashed forward, arches of elements crashing into the rockets. Twin explosions enveloped the draolf as he dropped from the sky once more. Seemingly in a free fall.
He lets out a soft groan, peeking out of an eye as he watches the ground get closer and closer. "Never get a moment's rest," grumbled the hybrid. In the distance, the airport came into view out from behind a cloud. "Target sighted." His wings flared out once more as he took off towards it.
A good half an hour later. Thankfully without incident with other jets. The draolf was closer to the airport and he started to climb in the air. He looked down at the airport below him, planes and jets taking off from multiple runways as crew members ran around like ants. "Here we go." Lightning crackled all over his form. Arches leaping from his ears, wings, even his fingers. His com link was scrambling as he drew the energy inwards and he dropped out of the air. Snapping his wings back as he shot quicker downwards to the ground.
As the ground came closer and closer, Kaji brought his arms above his head. A deafening boom echoed out as he slammed into the ground. The concrete cracking and denting inwards as a sonic boom explodes outwards. Cars rolling a good several times. A jet taking off just falls out of the sky and crashes into the ground as the sonic boom rolls through the area.
As the dust settles, the draolf stands up. Coughing through the dust as he looks around, clapping his hands a bit. In the distance, a jet having crashed on its nose creaks and then thuds onto the ground; shattering the cockpit. "Hm. Well. Mission Accomplished."
A bright smile before his vision is filled with a bright flash of light. Then everything goes dark.
The draolf stretched, his wings pushing him off of the couch as they flared. "Ho shi~!" He caught himself on the coffee table before he let out a yawn. An eye catching the clock before he let out a grunt. "Hmn... must've dozed off." He looked back at the door and snickered. "I wonder what else I can think up."
