It was an average day, like any else. Nothing all that spectacular had happened to impress Lucien the Lion. He was hungry though, so he began a search for something to eat. He traveled near and far. Here and there. Over the river and even through the woods. His journey was so ardous that he finally decided to take a little cat nap in the shade by a tree. The nice cool earth that had been risen from the rest and stripped of vegetation served as a nice little spot to cool his belly as he stretched as far as he could until he finally came to a rest. He was tired, but always had trouble falling asleep. So, to counter this, he tried to occupy his mind until it would drift away into the soft gentle cushion of sleep.

It was not long before Lucien fell asleep and began to dream. Boy oh boy did he dream. He dreampt of a tropical paradise where fruits of Gazelle meat were abundant on the trees. Fresh and ripe these delicious fruits were indeed. Unfortunately for Lucien, just as he took a bite from this magnificent fruit it disappeared from his very eyes! Now Lucien was instead chewing on a gag and his paws were bound as a tormentor known as Lazar, the Evil Bat Monster, began to torture Lucien! Such torture was all but unbearable to Lucien. He was always the one who would play that role! teasing and taunting his little morsels before he ate them for dinner. As Lucien found himself closing his eyes and biting that gag, he no sooner was sipping the reddest of wines from a silver goblet. Laughing and celebrating in the merriment with all of his animal kingdom friends, Lucien drank from this magical cup of joy until it was all gone and the bottom of the goblet turned to blackness. That blackness soon became the inside of the confused Lion's eyelids as he awoke from his nap.

Lucien slowly opened his eyes, yawned, stretched, and got up to continue in his search for food. He traveled once more for a long period of time. As dusk drew nearer Lucien increased his pace. He absolutely had to find something to eat! Then his search came to a screeching halt as he noticed some sort of rodent fiddeling with a a glass prism. Holding it to the sky, trying to catch rays of light to display the beautiful colors of white light. Lucien stepped a bit closer and the small rodent turned to face Lucien. Now, normally rodents are afraid of Lucien, for its in his nature to eat them. This one was different. It was a Mole. So, it was blind. Lucien felt sorry for this mole, so he decided to offer his help. The Mole was very greatful for Luciens offer and asked him to describe the clors that came from the prism for him.

So, Lucien began naming the colors and describing them as best he could to the Mole. He started with the color red. "Red. said lucien. The color of blood, strawberries, and tomatoes." Next in his speech was orange. "The color of the oranges growing on that tree right over there to the left, and the setting sun to your right. Yellow, the color of the most sour lemons in all the land. Green, one of the worlds most common colors. seen everywhere from grass to trees." Lucien said. After he finished describing the colors to the appreciative Mole Lucien embarked on his journey once more in search of food.

Lucien found food alright, and he ate well. So well he slept for an entire week. As if he were in a coma of sorts. When he awoke, there was that little Mole harrassing a tree for not answering him when he asked if it agreed that the dandelions he was holding were a very nice purple. Lucien then realized that some things are better left unsaid or let go.
