A large shadow stood in front of Sneasel, its eyes glowing red. Sneasel prepared to fight. The large pokemon attacked first and swung its tail around in an attempt to hit him. Sneasel prepared to take the hit, but it never came. Sneasel looked to see what had happened, as if in slow motion he watched as Cubone took the hit for him.

"NOOOOOOoooo!" Sneasel snapped up on the bed breathing heavily.

He rubbed his head, wincing in pain from the sensitive lump on his head. Sneasel pressed a claw against the bandages around his chest.

"Well, that seems to be about as well as when I left the hospital."

'Cubone must've bandaged me up.' Sneasel looked down at his feet which were also bandaged up. He touched the soles of his feet. 'Damn, they weren't this sore yesterday.' Sneasel looked around. He was lying in a bed on top of the covers. The room had a table and a light with a fan that was spinning so fast it was close to carving a hole in the ceiling and dropping down on him. 'It's still a little warm in here but I guess I can't complain too much.' Sneasel rubbed the back of his neck, it was stiff and he couldn't turn it that much. All in all he was sore all over and moving much of anything was painful. Cubone was no where to be seen. Grimacing Sneasel slowly made his way towards the opening out of the room. Sneasel leaned against the side of the opening to rest.

"Should you really be out of bed after yesterday?" Cubone asked from inside the room.

"Well I am, sure as hell, not going to spend the entire day in bed. Is it still raining?"

"Yeah, it's still coming down with no sign of stopping."

"I see." Sneasel pushed off of the wall and began to make his way to a chair that was positioned by a table in the middle of the room.

"Here," Cubone rushed over and helped Sneasel to the chair.

Sneasel was too sore to refuse the help and slid into the chair.

"I'm...sorry." Sneasel said,

"For what?"

"For this,"

Cubone looked down at her feet blushing, "It's nothing."

Sneasel looked at the pokemon with a somewhat puzzled look. Sneasel was about to ask a question when his stomach spoke for him. Sneasel looked down at his stomach and let out a little laugh.

"Already?"

"Here let me get something for you."

Sneasel was expecting his bag, much to his surprise Cubone came out with two bowls filled with a kind of bluish mush. Sneasel looked at the concoction set before him; it had a sweet smell and was cold with small bits of ice crystals covering it. Sneasel looked at it with an unsure stare.

"I thought something a little colder might be better since your scarf is a, well a brick of ice right now."

"A brick of ice? Yeah, well I could imagine that after what happened."

Sneasel picked up one of the berries; it had some of the juice from other crushed berries and small ice crystals randomly speckling its surface. Sneasel slowly placed it in his mouth. The variety of flavors flowed over his tongue as he chewed on the berry. The small water crystals crunched in-between his teeth and the flavor of the berry itself flowed out and mixed with the other juices in his mouth. The flavor was unlike anything he had ever had before. Having grown up primarily on Pidgeot eggs, finding something different that still appealed to him was an unexpected find.

"This is incredible. You made this?" Sneasel looked at Cubone.

Blushing, Cubone nodded, and began to eat some herself. She had never made this recipe before, the berries that were required were too difficult to find. It was definitely good as her cheeks tingled from the flavor. She watched as Sneasel eagerly savored the remainder of the berries and sauce in his bowl.

"Thank you, that was delicious."

Cubone looked up at him, "How do you feel?"

Sneasel was about to comment on how stiff he was, but when he lifted his arm up to make a motion he felt fine. He could still feel the pain in the soles of his feet and on his head, but even those pains had decreased drastically.

"What was that?" Sneasel asked,

"It's a special recipe I found, it heals weariness, dreariness, and most of anything else that leaves the body hurting."

Cubone said smiling.

"That's incredible where did you find it?"

"Finding things is my job; it's how I make my living."

"What kind of things?"

"Anything, books, special items, even lost pokemon, well sometimes. Finding the recipe was pure luck, I'm really not that good."

"That's not true!" Sneasel stood up out of the chair.

Cubone looked at him with a start.

"You can do anything. Look at the hell the two of us were put through to make it this far. Those other pokemon haven't the faintest clue what it means to suffer, to be alone, not to be needed by anyone. We've made it this far, there's no way that we're not any good!"

Cubone stared at Sneasel and smiled, "Getting a little worked up aren't you?"

Sneasel blinked a few times and then sat back down in the chair, "Sorry, I just can't stand it when others degrade themselves with no reason."

"Don't worry about it; I said I wasn't that good because most of the jobs have been going to the rescue teams."

"Why not join them or make one of your own?"

"It's too much work, and besides I don't want to save anyone. That's not what I'm about; it's the thrill of the hunt finding clues that lead you closer to your desired goal."

Sneasel stared at Cubone; her eyes were glowing with desire. "Lemme guess, you have something you're trying to find, but haven't yet."

"There's a legend of a cave that has a whole bunch of forgotten tombs of knowledge, I want to find it so that I can share that knowledge and help the world." Cubone looked down, "I guess it's kind of silly, but I want to make a difference."

Sneasel looked off towards the ceiling so he could concentrate. "It's not silly, you have a dream, not many do. Dreams give you a goal to work towards. There's too many pokemon out there just wandering aimlessly. I should know."

Cubone walked over to Sneasel and hesitantly put her arms around him. Sneasel snapped out of his daze and looked down at Cubones arms wrapped around him.

"You don't need to wander any more." Sneasel turned his head to see Cubone. "Share my dream with me."

"Cubone." Sneasel felt Cubones cool tears run down his back which her face was buried in.

"I need your help, I can't do it alone. Please."

Sneasel turned around and faced Cubone. Her face was pointed towards the ground her eyes closed, tears pouring down the side of her mask of bone. Sneasel lifted her head up with his claw and wiped away her tears.

"You're...We're not alone." The two pokemon held each other in their arms.

"So," Sneasel asked, "What do we know so far?"

"It lies somewhere on the other side of the mountains inside a waterfall."

"A waterfall? If I remember right there was a waterfall not too far from my old village. No one who ever visited it ever came back."

"What? You know where the cave is?!" Cubone was getting really excited at this news.

"Well, there's no guarantee...but it's the only one that I know about that's on the other side of the mountain."

"That's it I'm sure of it! The cave is a maze of pathways that were dug hundreds of years ago. Those that tried to find it must've gotten lost in the catacombs."

"Uh, then what's going to prevent us from joining the list of the lost?"

"That's...a very good question. What if we...no,...What about,...no that won't work either,...What if"

"Why don't you take a break, finding new information is exciting but if you act on it to hastily you'll risk making a mistake?"

"Yeah, right. I'll be right back I need to go take care of something real quick."

"Sure, take your time."

Cubone walked into another room leaving Sneasel standing in the makeshift dining room. His claw rested over his chest, the bandages still covering him. Sneasel looked down at his claw. 'Did I really mean that, could I really share her dream? After what the nightmare I had I couldn't let her try taking on something like that cave alone.' Sneasel unwound the bandages around his chest and head. He left the ones on his feet since the sores were still somewhat open. Sneasel made his way back towards the entrance. It was as Cubone said; the rain was still falling just as hard as the day before. The clouds, darker than Sneasels fur, lined the skies as far as the eye could see. Sneasel sat down so he could rest his feet. He stared out of clouds, losing himself in his thoughts once again. 'How do I really feel? Since I was defeated no one has ever really gotten to know me. I've never met anyone like her before, she's stubborn and smart, a dangerous combination.' She posed a different kind of challenge to him. 'She's strong and unsure,' mentally checking the bump on his head which was still sore, 'I have evidence of the first part at the very least. But still, why would she invite me to help her? I know what I think but, how do I feel?' Sneasel brought Cubone into his mind; his heat beat was more evident. A slight tinge at the very base of his sheath as if to let him know that it was ready anytime he was. Sneasel smirked at that.

"What so funny?"

Sneasels head snapped up, his head only a few inches away from Cubones. Turning away quickly Sneasel attempted to hide his red cheeks.

"Nu, Nothing, I was just tanking about something."

"What?"

"It's nothing important." Sneasel said turning around after he was sure that he had calmed down enough.

"Oh, come on tell me."

Sneasel had to think quickly, "I was just trying to figure out why I like the rain so much."

Cubone smiled and sat down next to him and stared out at the rain. The splatter from the rain cooled both of the pokemon down from there some what heated bodies. Sneasel without turning his head looked over at Cubone, and then quickly returned to looking at the rain. Cubone also with without turning her head glanced over at Sneasel, a smirk crept across his lips. Cubone turned back to stare at the rain a smile slowly crept over her lips as well.

"The rain always seemed so peaceful. I guess I want that kind of peace of mind." Sneasel said.

"For me the rain always symbolized all of the different pokemon in the world. Each drop seeks to find the earth, just as everyone searches for there place in the world."

Sneasel looked over at Cubone. "I never thought of it like that before."

Cubone looked over at Sneasel and smiled. "I was just thinking the same thing."

For the first time since they had met, Sneasel smiled. Both of the pokemon made eye contact, blushed and looked down at the same time. Slowly they looked up.

"Sneasel?"

"Yeah?"

"I know you told me about your village but I was wondering?"

"Yeah?"

"Did you ever have a girl friend?"

"No, I was told some of the pokemon had a crush on me but most of the girls liked Machamp."

"Machamp?"

"He's a fighting type who doesn't know much if anything, he was extremely simple minded, he had a good sense of right and wrong, and when it came to strength and knowledge of battle few were even close."

"So, he was the leader of the village?"

"Him? No, No, if he was the leader the village would have gone belly up a long time ago. The village runs on the consensus of the three strongest pokemon with majority ruling."

"Three? Who was the other two?"

"Originally it was Machamp as the strongest, myself as the third, and Gengar as the second strongest."

"A Gengar?"

"Yeah, she was really strong and even slapped me around a few times."

"A Gengar?"

"Yeah, A Gengar, she had a talent for battle, and with the exception to Machamp she could leave virtually any opponent begging for mercy."

"How cruel."

"No, any time Gengar did something like that, the pokemon deserved it."

"The two of them alone usually disagreed on everything, leaving me to make the decisions."

"Really?"

"Yeah, it was weird because I never knew what was going on. So I had to listen to the points both of them made and I usually just ended up combining their ideas into one." Sneasel laughed. "Then I was defeated, and it was if I had never even been there. The only ones who really seemed sad to see me go were Machamp and Gengar, not because we were friends but because neither of them liked the pokemon who defeated me."

"Do you miss it?"

"Not really. There was too much pressure, and everybody always wanted my help. I guess that's why I don't want people to know why I really do things."

"You mean you helped me before because,"

"I can't stand jerks, but in order to hide that I become one. It's pretty confusing sometimes."

"Thank you,"

Both of them looked down again, after a few moments, Sneasel looked back up. "What about you? Do you have a boyfriend?"

"No, I've been alone since my mother died 3 years ago."

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to"

"There's no point in being sorry, it wasn't your fault and there was nothing you could have done. I miss her sometimes but it would be unfair for me to ask her to stay with me forever. And, it's like you knew about it or anything."

"True, but I still don't want to make you sad." Sneasel said looking out at the rain again.

Cubones eyes flashed quickly and she looked out at the rain again her cheeks red though not noticeably through the mask.

"S-Sneasel?"

"Yes?"

"What do you think of me?"

Sneasels cheeks were noticeably red now. Even after all he had been through this was still beyond difficult for him.

"Well, you're the firs, the first pokemon who I've really gotten to know. You're smart and strong,"

"Yeah, sorry about that."

"Don't worry besides if it wasn't for you who'd know what would've happened to me. Basically, I owe you my life"

"Oh,"

"but, I really like being around you."

Cubone looked up and stared at Sneasel.

"I feel like I can really be myself around you without having to worry about my appearance or how strong I am. I'm not really sure because I've never felt like this before, but I like being around you and I like myself a little more when I'm around you."

Sneasels confidence was wavering when he looked over to see tears running down her cheeks.

"What is it? What's wrong?"

Sneasel looked at her very concerned.

"If it's something I said, I'm sorry, I was caught off guard, and I really do like you, it's just that,"

Cubone looked up at Sneasel smiling, quieting him instantly. Still with a worried look on his face Sneasel waited for Cubone to say something.

"I...I like you too." Cubone said through her tears.

Sneasels eyes opened wide, his worries disappeared in a wave as Cubone embraced him and he too wrapped his arms around her. Both of them stood in the entrance holding each other with the rain splattering in the background. Both of them turned their heads and looked out at the rain. Sneasel pulled his head back slightly and blew out into the rain, blowing a sub-zero wind that froze some of the rain droplets. Sneasel reached out with his claw and pulled back a rose made from ice.

"Here."

Cubones eyes were wide with amazement.

"How did you?"

"There were two main reasons they thought I was strong. The first was because I can use Slash. The second was because I can use Blizzard which, though is an ice type move is not an original Sneasel move. In my battle against the original third most powerful pokemon in the village it had begun to rain, I used blizzard and missed. Not really surprising as I couldn't hit a Snorlax at one foot away. It froze the rain above him and rained down on the pokemon knocking him out."

"But this is incredible." Cubone said admiring the rose made from ice.

"That's because I practiced like crazy with it. Because I never want what it took for me to learn that move to happen again."

'That's right he said he learns moves by necessity rather than level, so in order for him to learn Blizzard his life must've been in some real danger' Cubone looked at Sneasel again and rested her head against his chest and squeezed tighter.

"Sorry, bad memory."

"Don't worry, we've all had those. At least you took the time to learn from it."

"Yeah." Sneasel said as he rested his chin on top of Cubones mask.

Cubone pulled back and looked up at Sneasel, who returned her gaze. Cubones rose slowly melted in her hand. After an awkward moment of silence Cubone leaned forward slightly. Both withdrew slightly blushing, and then leaned forward together as their lips locked together. A feeling of pure bliss enveloped both of them, the rain froze in mid air, and time itself seems to stop. When the kiss was broken both of them waited for the other to say something. Sneasels eyes rolled back in his head and slumped over.

"What's wrong?"

"It got very hot, very quickly."

"Wait here a moment."

Cubone ran off into the other room. 'Bang', 'bang', 'bang'...'bang'. Cubone ran back into the room carrying Sneasels frost scarf.

"We probably should have done this before now."

"Probably," Sneasel said smiling.

Cubone tied the scarf around Sneasels neck. Sneasel sat up, smiling.

"That's the first time something like that has ever happened."

"I'm sorry, I just got caught up in the moment and,"

"Cubone,"

"Yeah?"

Sneasel reached up and put his claw on the side of Cubones mask.

"You worry too much." Sneasel lifted his head up and kissed Cubone again.

Cubone felt like her entire body was melting. Sneasels lips were cooler than before which enticed Cubone even more. Cubone pulled back and covered her mouth with her hand. Sneasel looked at her confused.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm sorry I just need to,"

Cubone ran off out of the entrance into another room. Leaving Sneasel alone in the entrance quite confused. Sneasel slapped his forehead with his claw.

"Damn it, Damn it."

Sneasel got up and followed Cubone. She had gone into the bathroom. He pressed his ear to the door. He could here Cubone crying inside. 'Damn, I screwed up big time.' Sneasel lifted his claw and hesitantly rapped on the door.

"Cubone?" There was no response. "Please answer me."

"Just leave me alone."

"I can't do that."

"Why not? Because we kissed? You think that meant something? Well, it didn't"

"Even if you say that it meant something to me."

"It didn't to me."

"Then why did you kiss me in the first place? Why did you tell me you liked me?"

"I don't know."

Sneasel put his back to the door and slid so that he was sitting with his back to the door.

"If you don't want to talk then just listen. You're the first pokemon that I've ever felt like this about. Last night I had a nightmare about losing you when you took a hit for me. It was the worst feeling I've ever known. Everything I've told you so far is the truth. You're the first one that I've made a real connection with. And...I don't want to lose that. I thought that you might feel the same way. That's why I kissed you. I really do like you Cubone. And I will do anything to keep that bond with you."

"What does that mean?"

"I don't know what it means; all I know is that you mean a lot to me."

"You don't know the first thing about me."

"I don't need to, what I do know is enough."

"You wouldn't like the real me."

"You don't know that, no one does. You helped me climb up the side of the cliff and saved my life. You cleaned and bandaged me up, you have something, you have a dream. That's more than I had. When you asked me to share your dream I wasn't sure if I could, but sitting there on the ledge talking with you, I determined that I could because of what you had come to mean to me. If your true character wasn't brought out in those situations, then I have no idea the kind of situation it would take to bring it out."

There was no sound from the other side.

"Cubone, I don't know why you ran away after I kissed you. If it was something I did I'm sorry but, I don't want to sit here and have a one sided conversation with you. Please talk to me, tell me why, help me to understand."

"I...I'm just not sure how I feel about you. My body feels different around you, I can't think straight and I don't like it."

"What don't you like about it? Is it painful?"

"I've never felt this way before. It took me along time to feel comfortable living here. I don't want to lose control of my life again."

"So don't," Cubones head snapped up, "No one is asking you to lose control, I'm asking you to give it a chance."

"What?"

"Being afraid of change is understandable, but afraid or not change happens. The most you can hope to do is adapt to the change or control the after effects enough to where the change isn't as severe. After I was defeated my world crumbled down around me. Everything I knew disappeared, for the longest time I didn't know what to do. I was so afraid of change that after I conformed as best I could I did everything I could to make sure that I stayed there. Finally I figured out that change happened with or without me and if I ever wanted to be in real control I had to accept that. Eventually I learned not to let change that was outside of my control bother me. Likewise if something was within the realm of my control I took matters into my own hands and made the best of the situation."

Sneasel listened for a response. There wasn't a sound on the other side of the door.

"Cubone? Damn, I didn't put you to sleep with that did I?"

'Giggle' "No, I was just thinking about what you said."

"Cubone, I can't tell you how to live your life, all I can tell you is how I've lived mine so far. This is something you have to decide for yourself. So now, I'll leave you alone so you can think. Afterwards, if you still want, ill leave and you'll never see me again. Until then I'll wait for you to make up your mind."

"Sneasel?"

"Yeah?"

"Thank you."

Sneasel smiled and made his way back to the entrance and watched the rain.

"Damn, when the hell did I get so soft?"

After a few hours Sneasel had fallen asleep.

"Sneasel! Look out!" Cubone yelled.

"Cubone! Nooo!"

Breathing heavily Sneasel tried to relax. He stared out at the rain again. He blew out into the rain with Blizzard again. He pulled back a daisy looking flower. He reached up and pulled off one of the ice petals.

"She loves me..." Sneasel stuck the ice petal in his mouth and drank down the melted rain water.

"She loves me not..." Sneasel took off another petal and threw it out into the rain.

"She loves...What the hell am I doing?" Sneasel bit the head off of the ice daisy. Chewing the head he flung the stem out into the rain. "Damn, I'm losing it."

Sneasel leaned his head back against the side of the opening.

"Sneasel?"

Sneasels eyes opened to see Cubone looking at him.

"Feeling better?" Sneasel asked.

"Yeah, and I've made my decision."

"That's good to hear." Sneasel stared her.

She looked down and let her shoulders fall. Sneasel eyes widened then lowered.

"Okay, I'll go," Sneasel pushed off the ground about an inch, when Cubone reached out and kissed Sneasel on the lips. Sneasel let himself fall back to the ground. Cubone repositioned herself. Cubone put her hands up around Sneasels face and pulled back.

Sneasel smiled, "Does this mean I can stay?"

Cubone smiled, "As long as you want to."

"Well, I guess, at least until the rain stops."

Cubone turned around and rested her back against Sneasels chest and jabbed him slightly in the side.

"Tomorrow is another day," Sneasel said looking out into the rain.

"and we will face whatever it may bring, together."

They stayed as they were for several hours until Cubone yawned.

"What'samatter? Not tired are you? Sneasel said, yawning himself after the finishing his statement.

"Seems like I'm not the only one. Come on." Cubone stood up and helped pull Sneasel up.

They both walked hand in hand into the bed room.

"Um, since I have the scarf now, do you think we can turn the spinning death trap off?"

"What?"

Sneasel pointed up towards the ceiling fan.

"Oh, yeah." Cubone flipped a switch and the fan slowly slowed down and eventually stopped.

Sneasel took one of Cubones hands and helped her into the bed and followed her into it. Sneasel sat down next to Cubone, who had yet to lie down.

"Is something wrong?"

Cubone looked over at Sneasel. There was a look in her eye Sneasel had never seen before. Cubone reached up and rested her hand on the side of Sneasels face.

"Can you keep a secret?"

"Yes,"

"Can you promise me that you won't reveal what I'm about to show you."

"I promise that I will not tell anyone what you're about to show me."

Cubone took her hand away from Sneasels face and using both of her hands she took off the mask of bone. Sneasels eyes widened once he realized what she was going to do. Cubone looked up blushing slightly at Sneasels stare.

"Well? What do you think? We're not supposed to show anyone what we look like without our helmet."

Sneasel stared at Cubones true face for a few moments. The skin on her face was the lighter pigment as the rest of her body. The shape was similar to that of the mask, though not as long. Her eyes sparkled in the light.

"You're beautiful." was the only thing that Sneasel could manage to get out of his mouth.

"Sneasel, you mustn't tell anyone about this." Cubone pleaded.

"I promise, no one will ever hear of this from my mouth or mind."

Cubone rubbed her face in Sneasels Chest.

"Thank you."

Cubone leaned back and looked up at Sneasel.

"Sneasel?" Cubone took his claw in her hands.

"Yes."

"Wait, what?" Cubone asked.

"Whatever you want me to do the answer is yes."

Sneasel looked down at Cubone with a smile. Cubone tugged on his arm when he was low enough she kissed him. She took his claw and put it between her legs. Sneasel felt his claw touch something wet.

"Please,"

Sneasel looked down at his claw which was somewhat damp. Sneasel took a deep breath and kissed Cubone pushing his tongue into Cubones mouth. Both of them closed their eyes. Cubone let her arms fall to her side. Sneasels tongue wrestling with hers as he explored the inside of her mouth with his tongue. His breath was cool because of the scarf. Sneasel pulled back and stared at Cubone waiting for a response. Cubone opened her eyes and shivered. Sneasel smiled, in all of the excitement his member had come to attention. Cubone noticed this and motioned for Sneasel to lie down. He did, and Cubone placed her head near Sneasels member. Cubone stuck her tongue out and licked it from base to head causing Sneasel to shiver involuntarily. It tasted unlike anything Cubone had had before; she gave it a kiss at the tip and positioned herself over Sneasel so he could access her cunt easier. Sneasel getting the hint slowly began to lick the opening. Cubone let out a moan as Sneasel began to go to work on her. She turned her attention back to Sneasels member. She took the head in her mouth, it felt cool inside her mouth, and began to flip her tongue back and forth across the head. Sneasel getting more daring began to delve deeper into Cubones crevice with his tongue, ocaisionally sucking on it. Cubone began to suck and bob her head up and down the length of Sneasels member. Both of them could feel there orgasm approaching, a feeling of pure bliss overwhelmed both of them as they came. Cubones juices covering Sneasels face and mouth, just as Sneasels sperm covered Cubones face. Both of them were panting heavily, Cubone rolled off of Sneasel and turned around so they were face to face.

"That was incredible." Cubone said.

Sneasel lifted himself up on his shoulders and began to lick Cubones face clean from his sperm.

"You're telling me."

Cubone licked her juices off of Sneasel while Sneasel licked his off of her.

"Sneasel?"

"Yeah?"

"I'm not done yet."

Sneasel just smiled. Cubone climbed back up on top of Sneasel resting herself just above his member.

"Are you ready?" Cubone asked.

"Anytime you are."

Cubone thrust herself on to Sneasels erect member. Both of them gasped as Cubone took all of Sneasel inside her. Cubone could feel every detail of Sneasels cool member inside her.

"Cubone, you're so hot."

Cubone slowly began to pump herself up and down. Sneasels cold member insider made each pump more pleasurable than the last. Cubone biting her lip fell forward so that her face was only a few centimeters away. Still pumping herself up and down Sneasel she pushed her lips on to his. Sneasel pulled Cubone closer to him.

"Cubone, I'm...I'm going to cum."

"Me too, let's cum together."

"Yeah."

Cubone pumped herself a few more times then with a torrent of pleasure she came with Sneasel. Both of them lied there breathing heavily, yet still together.

"Sneasel?" Cubone looked at Sneasel with her sparkling eyes.

"I love you too, Cubone." Sneasel said as he pulled Cubone in for another kiss.

Cubone relaxed and fell to Sneasels side.

Cubone kissed Sneasel one last time before drifting off to sleep in his arms. Sneasel smiled, 'It's been a long since I've been this relaxed. I could definitely get used to this.' 'Yawn' Sneasel closed his eyes and followed Cubone in their dream.

***

Sneasel woke up to find Cubone still resting in his arms. Last night's event played back in his mind. He kissed Cubone on her forehead. Cubone opened her eyes slightly blinked and opened her eyes completely.

"Good morning." Sneasel said.

"Morning," Cubone said yawning, "Is it still raining?"

"No idea,"

Sneasel and Cubone climbed out of bed. Cubone went to the bathroom to take a bath While Sneasel got some breakfast from the bag. Sneasel walked out to the entrance and much to his surprise the sun was shining and there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

"So much for the weather." Sneasel said as he put his claw in front of his eyes to block the sun.

Sneasel looked down at his feet. The bandages were still wrapped around them but they didn't hurt at all. Sneasel sat down and took off the bandages.

Sneasel smiled, "Note to self don't run up the side of a rock cliff, if you have somewhere to be anytime soon."

Sneasel stood up and gathered the bandages in a pile and threw them in the trash. He walked into the kitchen where there breakfasts from the day before were still out. Sneasel picked them up and washed the dishes while Cubone was taking her bath.

'Did we go to far last night? What am I going to do? I can't stay here forever.' Sneasel stood there washing the last of the dishes for 10 minutes before Cubone came back out wearing her mask.

"Sneasel?" Cubone asked, there was no response, "Sneasel!"

"Huh? What?"

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Well, I pretty sure that dish is clean now."

"Oh, yeah." Sneasel rinsed the plate off and put it in the strainer and stood with his arms on the counter for a few minutes.

"What's wrong?" Cubone asked.

"Do you think we went too far last night?"

Cubone stared at him; she could tell he was serious.

"I can honestly say I hadn't planned that, but what happened seemed so natural."

"I guess I'm just worrying over nothing. I'm going to get cleaned up."

"Yeah, sure."

Cubone watched as Sneasel walked off towards the bathroom and closed the door behind him. She walked over to the entrance, it wasn't raining and the sun was shining bright. Cubone smiled as the breeze brought the smell of wet earth into her home. A breeze blew in a different direction, Cubone looked over in the direction and there in front of her stood Absol.

"Absol! It's good to see you."

"I just stopped by to see how you faired."

"We survived well enough."

"We?"

"Sneasel and I."

"A Sneasel?"

"Mmmhmm."

Absol looked down thinking.

"Is something wrong Absol?"

"Hmm? Oh, it's nothing, just a rumor."

"What kind of rumor?"

"There's a village on top of the mountain where the landslide originated. There was a rumor floating around that a Sneasel died in the landslide."

"That must be this Sneasel." Cubone said, "He was found at the base of the landslide."

"I was afraid of that." Absol said.

"What? Why?" Cubone said concerned.

"They also say that he was a monster, destroying anyone who got in his way. That even to make eye contact meant that you would be in a hospital for a week."

"That's a lie!" Cubone yelled, "It was they who persecuted him not the other way around."

Absols eyes widened. "I'm just saying that's what I heard, not that I believe it. I know better than anyone the dangers of rumors. But, there is occasionally some truth in rumors."

"Not those rumors. He would never...never do those things."

Sneasel left the bathroom after drying himself off. His fur was still a little fluffy from being towel dried so quickly.

Sneasel made his way towards the entrance. There he saw Cubone on the verge of tears and an Absol standing there. Sneasel walked up to Cubone.

"Is everything ok?" Sneasel said patting his fur trying to get it back to normal.

Absol stared at Sneasel with his crimson eyes.

"What's with you?"

Cubone ran off crying heading for the bedroom.

"What did you tell her?" Sneasel glared at Absol.

"What does it matter to you?"

"Don't toy with me; I suffered way too much to take any shit from you. If you're not willing to tell me what you said about me behind my back to my face, then you're nothing but a coward."

"How do you know I was talking about you?"

"These ears aren't just for decoration."

Absol vanished and appeared directly in front of Sneasel who didn't even blink. Sneasel and Absol narrowed their eyes at one another. Absol smiled and leaned his head back slightly.

"I told her a rumor or two."

"What kind of rumors, what were they."

"Rumors from your original village."

Sneasels eyes widened and he took a step back.

"My village?"

"Yes."

"I will only ask you once more. What did you tell her?"

"I told her the rumor that you had died in a landslide,"

"What else?"

"and that you attacked anyone who gazed in your general direction to the point that they had to spend a week in the hospital."

"What? Why? Why did you tell her that!?"

"I'm just the messenger; she's the one who picked up the parcel."

"What's your problem?"

"I don't have a problem."

"Bullshit. You're hated by virtually every pokemon on the face of the planet. But, that's not what I want to know. What's your problem with me?"

"You really want to know?"

"Yes! I want to know why you would make her run out of here crying."

"I don't like you."

"That's not what I asked you. I asked you why."

Absol walked to the other side of the entrance.

"I've worked hard to become her friend and you move right in, and I'm supposed to be ok with that? I don't know you and you're living here with her."

"You like her don't you?"

"She's my friend; I just don't want to see her hurt."

"So explain to me why she just ran out of here crying!"

Absols eyes flashed and he charged at Sneasel. Sneasels eyes narrowed as Absol came towards him.

"Nooo!"

"Huh? What?" Absol said.

Cubone rushed out and stood into his line of fire.

"Crap, I can't stop!"

Absol closed his eyes as he felt his horn sliced through flesh. After he stopped he turned around to see Cubone and Sneasel laying on the floor a small pool of blood underneath them.

"Cubone!"

Cubone opened her eyes and pushed up off of the ground. Her side and paws were covered in blood.

"Please, Absol, don't hurt him." Cubone pleaded.

"Cubone I'm sorry, I...I,"

"Hey! Absol!" Sneasel had stood up with his claw pressed on his opposite side. "If you ever! attack her again, mistake or not, I will kill you." Sneasel glared at the Absol with a stare so great it would strike fear into even into a legendary pokemon.

"Sneasel, don't you dare!" Cubone said. "It was my fault for getting in-between you two. I just couldn't stand the thought of you two fighting." Cubone began to cry again.

Sneasel took a step forward. "Damn,"

Absol looked up he could see the blood flowing from underneath Sneasels claw. 'He took the hit for her?' He lowered his head again.

"Sneasel!" Absols head snapped up. Sneasel had fainted, Cubone was by his side wrapping him up as best she could but blood quickly stained the new bandages.

"We need to get him to the hospital." Cubone said looking up at Absol. "Please, take us there, I know you might not like him that much but he still means something to me."

Absol lowered his eyes. "OK," Cubone, with Absols help, pulled him up and climbed up together on Absols back.

"Let's go." Cubone said.

"Hold on tight!" Absol yelled as they ran out of the entrance and straight off the side of the cliff.

Absol ran down the side of the face and without missing a beat jumped off and began to make his way to the hospital. To Absols trained eyes not even a blade of grass escaped his grazed as he forged his way forward. They made there way through the village passing pokemon after pokemon. There was a crate in the middle which was lifted as they approached and set back down after they had passed. A Jynx with a rather broad hat was another passed. The sheer force and speed sent her hat flying off of her head. The hospital came into view, as Absol began to decelerate in preparation to stop. Absol stopped just in front of the hospital and let Cubone and Sneasel get off.

"Thank you Absol." Cubone said.

Absol lowered his head in a slight informal bow and ran off back the way they had come.

Cubone took Sneasel into the hospital. "Chansey! Somebody help me!"

(Well, that's it for this chapter. Absols kind of a jerk to anyone except Cubone, just in case you were wondering. I am anticipating 2 or 3 more chapters after this one but we shall see what happens. Until next time.)
