?Suddenly, a few light strings came from the west. The mouth of the beast was somewhat open.

I took my friend outta there with me and we stepped on something solid, but I couldn't determine what it was. We were in a dark place, but we could somehow see ourselves. I took a look back to the mine vorer, seeing him fade away like an ethereal creature. I was perplexed, holding my friend onmy shoulder with all my cubby strenght.

Where are we? - asked the racoon.

I dunno, for sure - I replied.

Are we dead?

I bit my arm.

I'm quite sure we are - I replied.

Welcome - said a voice.

An old anthro dog approached, supposting himself with a hammer.

Do we know each other? - I ask.

You don't know me, but I know you - said the old dog.

But who are you?

The dog scratched his long beard and gave me a glance.

I'm Demiurgus - he replied. - I made the world you are used to live in.

Are you God? - I asked.

Far from it.

He turned away and a few light globes appeared around us.

These, my dear, are things called "ideas" - he explained. - They are perfect and beautiful. Each idea represents something that live or somehow are in Earth.

Then, we are in the Ideal World? - I asked, noticing correspondences between that place and Plato's philosophy.

Yes.

Now I know that catnip is bad for me.

The dog giggled and a flyin globe flew to my paws. I could spot a herb inside.

Oh, catnip? - I asked.

The idea of catnip. The ideas are perfect, incorruptible, always existed and will always exist - the dog explained again. - My creature, the Mine Vorer, is one of my creations. Everytime he gets something, he brings it to me, só I can avaliate it's value.

Value for what?

The dog turned to me once again.

This world is being threatened.

Eh? - I tilted my head in disbelief.

The ideas are being stolen by someone who could get into the Ideal World. Who is? Well... it's also a babyfur, like you.

Why don't you go after him?

I can't leave this place. The only creatures who can travel between these two worlds are the Mine Vorer and the thief.

I was skeptical, the whole story seeming very suspect.

But I make everything you see in your wolrd - continued the old dog. - I don't do these things out of nothing; I need the ideas to make sensible matter. Without the ideas, your world will eventually end, as I will be no longer able to make new creatures, new values, new actions.

Okay, okay, okay, I study Plato and such - I say. - How do you plan to give me in exchange?

The dog grinned.

  • I heard you like to paw off - he said.
