Kitty Ch. 4
Chapter 4
The Past.
Jessica woke up early the next morning, because she had just experienced a terrible nightmare. She turned around in the bed and kissed James good-morning.
"My my. Why are you up this early my dear?" James asked, kissing her back.
Jessica looks at him, a bit worried, but says nothing, then snuggles up against him.
"Honey, I can tell when something is wrong, and I can see it in your beautiful eyes. So what's wrong my love?" James asks while holding her close.
Jessica didn't know how to say it because it was only a dream, and dreams never come true anyway.
"Just promise me you will never leave me for anything my love." Jessica blushed deeply red for what she had just said, because she knew James never would leave her, unless he died of something.
"Don't worry my love, you know I won't ever leave you. Well now, stay here and I'll go down and make you some breakfast."
James got up from the bed, got dressed, and walked towards the door. He stopped and looked back at Jessica, smiling at her before heading to the kitchen.
Jessica sat up in bed, trying not to think about the nightmare she just had.
She shakes her head a bit and gets herself dressed. It was 5:30am in the morning so it was still a bit dark outside, and the birds haven't woken up yet at this time. She went to the kitchen and made her way over to James, who was preparing a breakfast of eggs, bacon, bread, and some jam. She smiles and kisses him on the cheek.
"It all looks so good dear. You've always been better at making breakfast then I ever have." She said with a small giggle.
James smiled at the comment. In a few minutes, breakfast was ready and they both sat down to eat.
After breakfast, Jessica helped James with the dishes and other small chores. They both cleaned up the dishes and the table. After the clean up was out of the way, James packed his Work equipment and got ready to head out. Jessica kissed him goodbye as she does every day, but she didn't know at the time, that this day should be a more special day than she had ever dreamed about.
James worked at a science laboratory, working with teleportation, lasers, and other scientific stuff that Jessica now knows quite a bit about.
Jessica laid on the couch and watched television and not long after she was sleeping again.
Several hours passes by and Jessica woke up because someone was knocking the door.
She got up and walked out to the door and opened it. It was Kira, her best friend, who had come over.
"Hello Jessica, hope you haven't forgotten your promise today."
Jessica smiled at Kira and gave her a hug.
"No, I haven't forgotten... Uhm, let me get dressed, and then I'll be ready to go."
Jessica hurried to her room and got dressed up in a lovely white dress, then went out to Kira who was still standing in the doorway, waiting.
"Okay, I'm ready to go now."
Kira smiled, she then went out to the car and got in. Jessica locked the door and sat in the car.
"I was thinking we could go to the park today after we have been shopping for some new clothes and such."
Jessica didn't like the park that much, but she didn't want to disappoint her best friend so she accepted it.
Most of the day went by with shopping and they both got themselves some nice new dresses, shoes and a lot of other girly stuff. When they were finished the clock was already at 14:00, they both decided to get some lunch. They found a lovely fancy restaurant to get some lunch.
After lunch they headed to the car with their clothes and other stuff, and headed to the park.
Jessica looked worried, she couldn't stop thinking of that horrible dream she had, but she shook it out of her head again. Kira and Jessica talked a while before they came to the park. Kira got some blankets from the car and took them with her so they both could sit out on the grass.
Jessica laid the blanket out on the grass and sat down next to Kira, they talked about life, and future dreams they both had.
Around twenty minutes later, Jessica got a phone call from James' work. It was his best friend who called.
"Jessica! This is..." Jessica looked terrified and began to cry. Kira looked at Jessica, she didn't know what was going on, but she started to comfort her as a best friend would.
Jessica couldn't stop crying, but tried to tell Kira what had happened. She asked Kira to drive her over to James work place at once. Kira packed up their stuff quickly and they hurried over, arriving in no time at all at James' workplace.
Jessica hurried into the building where the incident had happened. A scientist who worked with James, told Jessica what had happened. There was nothing left of James to be found anywhere...
Jessica suddenly woke with a start. Her bed drenched in sweat, and her heart beating fast in fear and sadness.
It was early in the morning, but she needed to call Kira at once.
Kira picked up the phone and yawned "Geeze girl, It's 6am in the morning, why are you me calling this early?" kira was very tired and needed more sleep, because it had been such a pressure to go back through the portal to their own world again.
"Im sorry Kira, but I need to talk. I dreamt about James again. I know he is alive now, but the things that happened 3 years ago at his work, what if it happens again, what if next time I really do lose him...?" Jessica cried softly.
"Jessica calm down, please. I remember what happened, and I'm sure it won't happen again. If you need some comfort, then come on over and I'll make us some breakfast. Then we can talk this out before I have to drive Kitty to kindergarten."
Jessica accepted, and was soon over at Kira`s place about half an hour later, Kira met her at the door and gave her a hug. "Come on in sweetie, breakfast is ready. Kitty is still asleep so we can talk freely."
They proceeded to talk about what had happened in the past, and what they had seen the day before, as they sat down and ate breakfast...
