Part 6
Thanksgiving

"Skyler!" James yelled up the stairs to his son.
Skyler walked over to the top of the stairs and looked down at his father. "What's up dad."
"I got called into work. I wont be back till late tonight." He grabbed his coat and put it on.
"But, dad. It's Thanksgiving." The little Lion had a crushed look on his face. Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday, an excuse to eat all that you want.
"I know. I'm sorry." He walked to the front door. "Don't forget to feed you're little brother." He opened the door and walked out.
"Great." Skyler started to talk to himself aloud. "Home alone, with my little brother on a holiday." Skyler walked into the living room and flopped down onto the couch. He turned on the TV and flipped through the channels. "I hate this house."
"Why?" Skyler's nine year old little brother, Chris walked into the room. He was a splitting image of Skyler, just smaller and younger.
"I don't really hate it here." Skyler told his little brother as he walked over to him. "I still like you." He ruffled the little cubs fur in between the ears.
"Come on, Skyler." Chris moved away and fixed his fur. He sat down in the chair next to the couch. "Where did dad go."
"Work." Skyler said as he flipped through the channels. "When isn't it something with him."
"But... But, it's Thanksgiving." The cub's eyes started to water.
"I know." Skyler sat up and looked at his brother. "We'll have our Thanksgiving tomorrow."
Chris sniffled and said, "OK."
Skyler laid back down and watched TV. After a few minutes his cell phone vibrated. He looked at his phone and saw that he had one new message. It was Leo, and the message read, 'Happy Thanksgiving, my little Lion." Skyler smiled as he read the message, then he replied, 'Happy Thanksgiving, my Husky.' He sent the message and looked back at the TV.
His phone started to vibrate again, but this time it was a phone call. He looked at the phone and he saw Leo's shirtless body. The Lion stood up and walked out of the room to answer the phone.
"Hey, sexy." Skyler said as he answered the phone.
"Hey, hot stuff." Leo replied. "You alright? You sound kinda upset."
"My dad left to go off to work. So we aren't having a Thanksgiving dinner."
"Are you serious?"
"Unfortunately." Skyler said sighing.
"Well that won't due. You two are coming over, we have plenty of food."
"It's OK, baby. Chris and I are fine."
"No, I won't have it. If you aren't over here in ten minutes I will come over there and drag you by those cute ear's of yours." Leo was persistent on having his boyfriend over.
"But..." Skyler wanted to come over, but he didn't want to be in the way.
"Do I have to come over there now?"
"Maybe." Skyler smiled. "We'll be over in ten."
"Good. Can't wait to see you." Leo said excitedly.
"Can't wait to see you too. I love you."
"I love you too." They both hung up the phone.
Skyler walked off back to the living room. "Chris!" He called to his little brother as he walked into the room. "Get dressed. We're going over to Leo's house."
"Really?" The little cub was excited.
"Yeah. Go get dressed." He told his little brother as he jumped off the couch and ran upstairs. Skyler followed and went into his bed room and took off his clothes. He grabbed a pair of black dress paints, purple long sleeve dress shirt, a dark gray vest, black belt and black dress shoes. He put on his clothes and walked out of his room. As he walked past his little brother's room he said, "Hurry up, Chris."
Skyler walked down the stairs and when he reached the ground floor his cell phone vibrated again. He opened the message and it read, 'Two minutes. Don't make me come and get you. ;) ' Skyler smiled and he was about to send a message back when Chris walked down the stairs. Chris was wearing the exact same thing as his older brother.
Skyler laughed a little and then said, "Come on. Let's go." They walked out of the house and Skyler locked the door. They walked next door and rang the door bell. Leo answered the door and motioned them both to come in.
"Chris!" Nate called out as he ran over to his friend.
"Hey, Nate!" They both ran off to the other room.
Leo and Skyler watched them run off to the other room. Then Leo looked at Skyler and said, "Did you two plan to match each other?"
The Lion laughed. "No, it just happened."
"Come on. Let's go upstairs." Leo grabbed Skyler's paw and led him upstairs. They walked into Leo's room and kissed.
Skyler broke the kiss. "Leo." He said with a concerning tone.
"Yeah."
"Do your parents know, about us?"
"No, they don't. Why?"
"It's just because I was thinking about my dad. If he found out..."
"Don't worry. No one knows about us dating except Neo."
"You two are dating?" Jamie said to the couple as he stood in the hallway.
"And Jamie." Leo said to Skyler as Jamie stepped into the room.
Jamie stepped into the room and looked at his brother and his boyfriend. "You're a fruit?" He stepped closer to Leo and then looked at Skyler. "You both are?"
Leo took a long breath, closed his eyes and lowered his head. "Yes... I'm gay.... And Skyler is my boyfriend."
"Oh, my god." Jamie said in an almost disgusted tone. He looked at Skyler. "I shower with you after football."
"Yeah. But it's not like I look or anything... I mean your Leo's brother." Skyler told Jamie.
"All because we're gay doesn't mean we find every man attractive." Leo jumped to the Lion's defense. Leo stood up and was starting to get aggravated. He walked over to his brother and looked him square in the eyes. "I love Skyler. And he loves me. You're my brother... My own flesh and blood and if you can't accept me for who I am... for who we are. That's all you'll be."
"Who ever said I didn't accept you." Jamie started to get aggravated too.
"Based on what you said and how you said it. You did." Leo turned and started to walk towards Skyler.
"Well. Let's see if Mom and Dad feel the same way." Jamie turns and starts to walk out of the room.
"They already know." Leo lied right through his teeth. Sometimes that's what Leo had to do to match his brother.
"Really? Then they wont mind talking about it." Jamie walk out of the room and down the hallway. "Hey, Mom! Dad!" He called to them.
Leo ran out of the room and Skyler followed behind him. "Jamie! I was kidding! Don't!"
Leo ran down stairs and stopped at the kitchen entryway. He saw Jamie standing next to their parents saying something. Then both his Mom and Dad turn and look at Leo. The look they gave him wasn't a good look, but a look of judgment.
"Oh, my god." Leo said as his eyes began to water. He turned and rushed back upstairs.
"Leo." Skyler called to the Husky as he followed him.
"How could you do that, Jamie." Neo said to Jamie as he brushed past him to rush to his brother's aid.
Leo ran to his room, tears falling down his face like a raging waterfall. When he entered his room he fell down to his knees, sat on his legs and covered his face with his paws. His whole body was shaking violently as he cried.
Skyler rushed into the room and knelt down to Leo. He grabbed his boyfriend into his arms and hugged him tight. Leo's head rested on Skyler's shoulder, tears soaking into the Lion's shirt.
"It's OK, Leo. Everything will be alright." Skyler said as he put a paw on the back of Leo's head. "I'm here for you, sweetie."
"I... I... I can't believe he would do that." Leo managed to say. "He's... supposed to be... my brother." He gasped for air as he tried to talk.
"I know, baby. I know."
Neo walked into the room, but stopped at the door. He watched as Skyler comforted Leo. He wanted to do something, but Skyler was doing a good job. He turned and looked down the hallway and saw his parents walking towards Leo's room. Neo walked towards them and stood in the center of the hallway so they couldn't pass.
"Move out of the way, Neo." His Dad said.
"What are you going to do." Neo asked.
"Talk to our son."
"I'm not going to move 'till I know exactly what you're going to say."
"Neo, If you don't move. Your actions will have..."
"Consequences. I'm willing to accept that. Leo is going through something so hard right now. Something that neither of you will ever understand. He's fragile and vulnerable. So... I'm going to stand here as long as it takes to protect my brother."
Neo glanced back and looked at the two. Skyler was rocking them back and forth slightly so try and calm Leo down. Neo turned back around to face his parents, but they were pushing past him to get to Leo.
"Leo." His Mother said as they entered his room.
Leo reluctantly pulled away from Skyler and turned around. His eyes were red from crying, tears streamed down his face.
"We aren't mad at you. In fact, we kind of thought that that was a possibility." His Mom knelt down to get to Leo's level. "You never seemed happy. Not until you met Skyler." Her voice was caring, not disgusted. "We've seen what's on your computer, the text messages, the looks you give Skyler... We knew."
Leo's eyes were wide with shock. His parent's knew and they accept it? Just like that. It just seemed too good to be true.
"You're fine with me being gay?" Leo asked in a raspy voice.
"Yes. You can love who ever you want. You're still our son." She reached in to hug her son and Leo embraced it.
After a few seconds he let go. "Thank you."
His Mother stood up. "Dinner will be ten minutes. Just come down when you're ready."
"OK." Leo replied as he wiped his nose. He watched as his parents left the room, then he turned and looked at Skyler.
Skyler had a slight smile on his face. "See, your parents love you."
Neo walked into the room and knelt down next to his brother. "You alright, bro?"
Leo wiped his nose again and said, "Yeah. Thanks you. Both of you." He hugged both his brother and boyfriend. "I'm lucky to have you two in my life." He let go of the hug and then there was a knock on his bedroom door. All three of them looked over and saw Jamie standing in the doorway.
"Leo..." Jamie said in a soft caring voice.
Neo jumped up and stood in front of his twin. "Get out of here, Jamie."
"I just came to apologize. What I did was..."
"A dick move. It might be Thanksgiving, but I will not hesitate on fighting you." Jamie stood there for a minute and didn't say anything. "Leave!" Neo growled so loud that it echoed through the entire house. Jamie walked off down the hall and Neo turned around and saw Leo and Skyler standing up.
"Let's go downstairs and eat." Leo said in a soft raspy tone.
"We don't have to, baby." Skyler said as he put an arm around Leo.
"I want to." Leo walked out of the room, both Skyler and Neo following closely behind.
