Tu Sei Bella

By Kimberly Daylight

Brad laughed along with the members of the audience from The Soup. It was his favorite show to watch and it always made him feel a little better. Joel McHale had just cracked a joke about Tyra Banks, who was always an easy target for the show.

It was Friday night and he was planning to go against his usual routine of partying on the weekends and stay in his dorm room, relaxing. He needed a weekend to himself since school had started not too long ago and with all of the homework and his new job, he was getting stressed out.

That plan for his weekend all flew out the window when his cell phone started to ring. He looked around for it a bit, finding that he left it on the floor just in front of his bed. He answered and the voice of his best friend, Matt, came through the speaker.

"Hey man. Are you doing anything tonight??" Matt asked.

Brad rolled his eyes to himself and shot back, "No. And I'd really like to keep it that way."

When he spoke he had a thick Italian accent. Which suggested that he was from Italy, which, of course, he was. His parents had decided to move to America when he was 12 and he had never fully lost his accent, although it was much heavier when he first moved. He would never forget Matt's first words to him.

He had walked into homeroom and sat down next to him and greeted himself in the nicest way possible. Matt replied with, "Dude you sound like Mario."

Matt groaned in protest, as Brad thought he would. He started speak again. "Come on Brad. It's not a party or anything like that. Honest. It's just a high school football game."

Brad raised his eyebrows to himself. He liked the sound of that. In high school he was the star quarterback his Senior year and had been on the varsity football team as other various positions the 2 years before that.

When he was choosing a college though, he had decided that he didn't want to go for football. His parents were furious by this decision because there were 3 colleges willing to give him a full ride and others that would give him various scholarships. But he had to play football.

In his heart though, Brad wanted to go for Music Education and leave everything about football behind. He had to pay for college himself, but it was all worth it to him.

Although he stopped playing football, he still wanted to keep up his physique. He was a good-looking wolf and he wanted to keep it that way. He was 6 feet and 4 inches tall, surprising because both of his parents were shorter Furs. Both under 6 feet. His mother had always said that he had gotten his height from his grandfather, although he never really knew. His grandfather had died before he was born. Along with being tall, he was very muscular. He never liked to seem cocky in front of others, but to himself he described himself as ripped. His arms were huge and he had a very defined 6 pack and pecs, with a single nipple ring pierced through his right nipple. The piercing had been one of those late night decisions that he made when he was really hammered one time, but at the same time he personally really liked it.

In his 22 years his fur had stayed just about the same. It was jet black and thick, with a special sort of shine. But the shine didn't suggest that it was greasy, just soft.

His eyes were a complete contrast to most everything else on him. They were blue. But not the soft or dull blue that you would usually see on people. These eyes were ice blue. An incredibly bright blue and they were definitely something that you couldn't pass by. They were very easy to notice. His friends joked about how you could get lost in them if you stared too much.

Overall, he was possibly perfect. Since puberty had started, he'd had too many girlfriends to count. Although whenever he had one, he always felt empty. Like nothing that they could do would ever make him happy enough or fill that barren space he felt in his heart. He just felt that he was unlucky with love and had been single for 2 years now. It wasn't because he couldn't get anyone, he had been asked out countless times. Staying single was a personal choice that he wanted to live with.

His mind was brought back into the moment and reality when Matt started to speak again.

"So are you coming or not??" He asked, obviously impatient.

Brad thought to himself for a moment and then asked back, "So... only a football game right?? Nothing else."

Matt started to reassure his friend, feeling that he was on the verge of saying yes. "Totally man. No parties or anything like that. Just a football game."

Brad thought some more and then suddenly came up with, "Wait man. Why are you even going to a high school football game anyway?? You're not dating a high school girl are you?? Do you know how messed up that is??"

Matt laughed and answered back, "Fuck no dude. It's cause of Jessie."

Brad was even more confused by this. He and Matt had been friends since 5th grade. He knew Jessie when the little Bunny was 4 and had seen him grow up and if there was one thing he knew about Jessie it was that he was gay and that kind of extremely feminine gay where you can just tell by looking at him.

"Jessie??" He asked back, almost in disbelief. "He's not on the football team is he??"

The only thing he heard back was Matt laughing loud and hard. He waited as Matt continued to laugh hysterically for about a minute until Brad tried to interrupt him and get him back to speaking.

"Okay okay I get it. Jessie isn't on the football team. So then why are we going??"

Matt still took a little bit to calm down and sighed to himself. "Well... I mean it's a little embarrassing. But... I guess you know how Jessie is." He took a deep breath, seeming to be preparing himself before he continued. "Jessie's a cheerleader this year."

Brad smiled at the comical image his mind came up with of Jessie in a cheerleader's outfit. Matt continued to speak.

"Mom, Dad, and I all agreed to be there at the games so he had people there to support him. You know?? But this week, they have to go to this stupid thing ice cream social thing for the church they go to and I'm left alone to go to the game and I mean, I don't want to be alone in like an entire sea of high school pups. So come on Brad. Please?? It's just this once. I just can't go alone to this thing."

Brad thought about this compelling argument and gave in. "Okay. What time should I be there??"

Matt had a cheery sound to his voice after that, knowing that he didn't have to suffer alone at the game. "Half an hour. Just meet at the high school. I'll be in the stands so call me when you get there. Thanks again man" They said goodbye and hung up.

Brad smiled a bit, staring at the wall and thinking back to his high school days. After a few minutes he got up and looked in the mirror.

He was wearing a pair of athletic shorts and a white tee shirt. He hadn't brushed his fur that day that day so it looked a bit messy. He thought about brushing it, but then looked closer and thought about how sexy it made him look. Even if he wasn't going to date, he still wanted to look good.

He stripped off his athletic shorts quickly, down to his black Calvin Kline boxer briefs. He grabbed a pair of jeans and slipped them on.

To top it all off he grabbed a black hoodie jacket and pulled it on before getting a pair sneakers to pull over his socks.

After checking his new appearance in the mirror and approving of it to himself, he grabbed his cell, keys, wallet, and a pack of mints.

Mints had always been his favorite things to snack on. He looked like a pill popper with them at times, eating one after the other.

He looked around his dorm. He needed something. Something to give to Jessie. He had always felt that he was like Jessie's second big brother, and from what he had seen of Matt, a better one.

Over the years Brad would give Jessie little presents now and then. Jessie loved them and Brad thought that making the Cheerleading squad was important enough to give him one. Even if it was pretty gay. But of course, Jessie was gay.

He couldn't really find anything around his dorm and it was starting to frustrate him. He took a mint out of the container and shook it after he did, realizing that the container was very close to being empty.

"Perfect" He thought to himself. "I'll just go to Walgreen's before the game. I can get mints and a present there." So he hopped in his car and headed to the Walgreen's around the corner of the college campus.

He ended up getting Jessie a little stuffed bear. It was purple and fuzzy. He'd learned from various gifts and because he'd spent so much time at their house that purple was Jessie's favorite color.

He made it to the high school just in time, but was still a little late getting inside because parking was so bad and it took him forever to actually find a spot.

When he finally found a parking spot, which was unfortunately 3 blocks or so away from the school, he got out his phone to call Matt and like magic, his phone started to ring. Of course, it was Matt. He answered it, laughing a bit and said,

"Dude you are some kind of psychic. I just parked and was going to call you."

Matt replied with an annoyed tone in his voice. He obviously didn't like that Brad was late. "Yea whatever. Now get over here. The game is starting." And with that he hung up, without even a goodbye. Brad just chuckled to himself at how annoyed his friend was.

He got to the school in just a few minutes of walking and got to the door, where he had to pay 8 dollars to get in. A small price to pay for a fun night with Matt and Jessie.
