Once upon a time there was a Snow Lynx that resided in England, Alice Sai Wright was this lady's name. She was a smidgen on the short side standing at a full four feet eleven inches ,but what she didn't have in height she made up for it in assertiveness and intelligence. Her fur was gray with a white undertone and her spots were a dulled charcoal black. Her most prized characteristic were her long black hair and her icy pale blue eyes. Every one that knew her personally called her by her middle name Sai. She hated to be called Alice, the only people that were permitted to call her by that name were her parents. Sai was a well mannered girl ,a bit strange, but still very civilized. She loved to read ,and most of the time you could find her with a book ,under the old oak tree, in the front yard of her families large estate. Her favorite book was about a stupid little girl who feel into a hole. Sai favored this book because she adored the land of nonsense the stupid girl had fell into. She always imagined what she would have done differently in the predicament the girl was in.

One dark dreary morning Sai was sitting in her favorite chair in her room about to finish her book when she had the sudden urge to sit under the old oak tree and read. She got out of her morning clothes and rummages through the closet to find something relaxing to wear outside. She found her favorite dress white dress and slipped it on. She liked it so much because of the black and red ribbons on the sleeves and collar of the dress held in place by skull bow clips. When she clipped the last bow on her dressed she grabbed her book and headed down stairs. As she descended the enormous spiraling stair case she noticed her parents enjoying breakfast in the dining hall.

As she walked past them she bid her parents good morning and told them where she was headed. They nodded and she continued to her destination. As she walked across the porch and down it's stairs she looked up at the dull gray sky and smiled. You might think it strange ,but Sai had always loved dark dreary day and this was her kind of day. She strolled towards the old oak in her yard and sat in the same spot she had sat since she had begun reading under that tree. She began to read the last of her book and thought of meeting the red queen herself. As she finished her book in the dark warmth of the gloomy morning she started to day dream about her favorite world. Her daydreaming eventually turned into dreaming and her dreaming eventually turned into Wonderland.

Sai woke up and looked around. She rubbed her eyes and smiled at the thought of the cliché she was experiencing. She knew she was dreaming so why ruin the experience. "Well I guess I can have a little fun while I'm here." Sai said as she got up and started to walk towards the garden she had read about.

As she entered the lovely garden she realized she hadn't eaten yet. As the thought crossed her mind a bread and butter fly flew by. She plucked it out of the air and ripped its wings off. As the wings tore off a red substance squirted from the insect onto her white dress . Sai frowned as she scraped some of the red substance off of her favorite dress. She raised her red stained paw to her nose and sniffed it. To her surprise and slight amusement it strawberry jam. "Well that would make sense" she giggled to herself as she smeared the jam onto the piece of wing toast.

While Sai enjoyed her toast she strolled down the isles of the garden. While she walked she heard snickering seemingly coming from no where. She completely halted in her tracks and tried to concentrate on where the sound was coming from. Eventually her acute since of hearing directed her head down. The quite laughter was coming from the flowers around her feet. As she been down to bid them good day. A Daffodil peered up at her with a mocking expression on its face. "Well I haven't seen such a ragged looking stray cat in this garden for quite a while"

"I wonder how it got here. But truly it doesn't matter as long as it goes away. It is truly a monstrosity littering our garden with it hideousness" replied a rude begonia.

Sai looked down at the flowers and smirked "You should watch your mouths you cheap excuses for rabbit food or I might just misstep while I'm walking and crush you to bits" All the flower around her looked surprised by her rebuttal.

"Well I never" yelled a sunflower.

"Well now you have" Sai yelled as she walked out of voice range with a smirk on her face.

As Sai continued to walked through the garden she noticed a giant mushroom far off in the distance. Her curiosity got the best of her and she eventually started to head towards that direction. As she was walking she noticed a corridor made completely of shrubbery. Lining the long green walk way were bushes with white roses scattered here and there. When Sai looked down the green hallway and laughed at the familiar scene. There were about half a deck of soldiers scrambling about painting the roses red. Sai rolled her eyes, kneeled down, and crept down the shrubbed corridor.

When she was right next to a card solider she stood up and clear her throat loudly to get this attention "Excuse me but I have an urgent message from the Red Queen" Sai lied as she approached the Card soldier. "Well out with it then" snapped the Ace of Hearts. "The Queen has decreed that all the flowers in her garden to be blue." The Ace arched his papery eyebrows in disbelief "The Queens favorite color has always been red there for you must be lying. Seize her and take her to the queen" As the soldiers started to charge Sai but she quickly thought of a smart reply "You don't have to charge me I will go tell her myself ,and when I do she will know you've planted the wrong roses in the first place. You know there could result in head splitting repercussions" Sai said slyly. All the soldiers had stopped dead in their track and began to think of what would happen if the Queen discovered their blunder. They all unanimously decided to as Sai instructed and started to paint the roses blue.

With the same sly smile on her face Sai started to walk of towards her original destination. The Ace tapped her on the shoulder "Where are you going My Lady?" Sai lied once again "I am a busy woman I have many other things to attend to. Good day to you Sir." Ace bowed to her and she continued to the giant mushroom in the distance. She walked for what seem like hours and passed many familiar scenes. Until she finally made it to her destination.

Sai was a bit winded when she stopped walking but she was glad she had made it. She saw a plume of smoke rise from the top the mushroom and a wide grin spread across her muzzle. This was simply due to the fact that her favorite thing about her favorite book was sitting right in front of her.

There sitting atop the purple mushroom was an emerald green figure smoking cigar "Who R U" huffed the green figure as he puffed out smoke in the shape of the words he was speaking.

"I am Sai" She replied, the wide grin on her face.

"Can you climb up" asked the figure still bellowing out smoke shaped like words.

"Why yes I can" she replied as she crawled up the left side of the mushroom.

When she made it to the top she saw a giant smoking, smiling caterpillar. Sai already knew his name and as she sat next to him he offered her a puff of his cigar.

" Oh, I don't smoke." Sai said to the caterpillar.

"It wouldn't hurt to try." Hookah suggested as he passed the Cigar to Sai.

"Well I guess it wouldn't hurt I am dreaming after all" Sai took the cigar from Hookah and began to puff on it. Now usually when someone takes their first huff of a cigar its followed with a fit of coughs but for some reason Hookah Cigar had a very smooth flavor and Sai loved it.

"What do you put in this?" Sai asked as she passed the cigar back to Hookah.

He Grinned "It's a mix of the underside of this mushroom, herbs from the forest, and some vanilla for extra flavor."

"You'll have to give the recipe for it my friend" Sai said as she started to relax from the puff she had took. Hookah shook his head no

"I would love to give you the recipe but I wont because you wouldn't be able to find most of the ingredients in your dimension" Sai nodded in agreement

"Yes that is true...........Wait What Did You Say!!" Hookah started to answer but his words seemed to low down. She knew what was happening and there was nothing she could do about it. Sai just stared off into space as green turned to violet and clouds turned into cotton candy. She couldn't concentrate on Hookah's words and before she knew it every thing has swirled out of control and she had blacked out.

As she lay there in her slumber she started to hear chanting. At first it was soft ,but it slowly started increase in volume. It got louder and louder until It became an earsplitting roar. Her eyes widened at the deafening noise and she thought if it didn't stop soon see would go mad . Her eyes snapped open and she looked around as her grogginess started to lift.

She was in a court and in front of her in the place where the judge should be was a tall skinny human ,clad in black and red ,with a very large head . Sai snickered at the sight but then realized that she was standing in the box where the person accused of a crime usually stands. Sai's realization startled her and as her smiled slowly slipped into a frown the Red Queen started to speak " Well then its about time you wake up you putrid little rat"

Sai frowned at the Queen "Excuse me ,but I am not a rat I am a cat and I am in no way putrid"

The Queen frowned at her "SILENCE" she screeched "I know what you did to my beautiful garden"

"What did I do to your garden" asked Sai in a sarcastic tone.

"You terrified my flowers and you ruined perfectly red roses." The Queen said with an angry tone in her voice

"Well with all due respect your flowers were very rude to me and you roses where white to start off with because your solider planted the wrong seeds The only thing Lovely about you garden is Hookah." Sai said correcting the queen.

"She's lying about the flowers your majesty!!" The Ace of Hearts Cried.

"Wait, did you harm Hookah while you were bringing me here?" Sai asked slowly realizing something.

"Yes we did" the queen said in a tone that made the words sound slimy.

"Is he still alive" Sai asked worried about her friend.

"That giant green blob" The queens lips curled into an evil smile. "You might as well consider him squashed 'crushed to bits.' Yes, I think that's how you put it to my flowers" Sai was outrages by the reply "You decrepit bovine how dare you kill someone dear to me!!" Sai screamed. The Queens Powered white face began to turn red.

"What did you call me you sniveling little rat. OFF WITH HER HEAD!" The Queen bellowed. The Queens card solider began to rush to Sai, axes aimed at her neck. As the Ace Of Hearts swung his ax, Sai had dodged him by jumping onto the podium that was in front of her. The ax missed her neck but it caught her shoulder and sliced a large slit in her arm. Her blood started to rush out of the wound and ruin her no longer white dress. The slice hurt but she was too pissed off about the blood staining her dress ,which been a gift from her dead grand mother, and her dead friend, Hookah.

Sai grabbed one of the guards Heart shaped axes and dashed straight for the Queen. The whole deck of Card Soldiers tried to subdue her but she used the long stem off the ax to pole-vault over them. She landed right in front of the Queen and in her blind fury Sai swung the ax as hard as she could at the queens neck. She heard a loud cracking sound and that was followed by a loud thud. Sai's face was splattered with blood and her dress was completely drenched in the queens tepid, crimson essence . When Sai opened her eyes and realized what she had done, she dropped the ax in shock from her own actions. She looked over to where the queens head had rolled and to her horror it started to speak in a horse tone. "You.............Are..............Dead. It doesn't...............Matter if you...........Do go..............Back to your...................Dimension I will......................Kill You................and..................Everything You Love"

As the queens head finished its threat its eyes closed and its mouth fell silent. All The cards were outrages and everyone in the room started to charge towards Sai. Every thing started to claw its way up toward her but she was still to terrified of her own actions to move. As she stood there motionless a strange aroma started to seep into her nostril. It was a familiar smell and Sai knew it right away from her time with Hookah. It was Smoke.

Sai's eyes instantly snapped open and she looked around. She was still sitting in the same spot under the old oak tree she had been sitting before she went to sleep. "It seemed so real." she said taking large breaths "How could it have all been..............." Sai was cut short when she felt a sharp pain in her left shoulder. She grabbed her arm where the pain was coming from but quickly let go because the pain increased. She looked at the paw she had drawn back and to her unadulterated horror her paw was covered in blood, her own blood. She quickly jumped up and looked behind her remembering what had woke her up. As she gazed straight ahead tears filled her eyes as she witnessed her wonderful house towering in flames. Sai could feel the tears running down her face as she watched her childhood paradise smolder in flames of orange and red. Sai felt light headed due to the blood she was loosing, she propped herself against the tree and tried to relax. She was quickly losing her equilibrium and she eventually fell to the ground and blacked out.

When she finally came around she was in the hospital. Looking up from her hospital bed Sai noted the figures around her. The first one she noticed was the doctor ,a male giraffe, standing over her with a warm smile on his face. He seem astonished that she was even awake. "So you finally decided to join us Miss Alice."

Sai frowned "Don't call me that"

"Oh I'm sorry." He said in an apologetic tone. "What would you prefer me to call you then Madam"

"Call me Sai. And may I ask what your name is and where am I?" Sai asked as she slowly sat up in her creaky hospital bed.

He grabbed her hand and helped her up "My name is Doctor Alan Smith but you can just call me Alan. And you ,Miss Sai, are in a hospital."

And Just like that Sai recollection of the whole day rushed back to her. She remember her dream and what had happened to her house. Doctor Alan stared at the blank expression on Sai's face for a while and became worried when she hadn't spoken for a while. He began to shake her "Sai ,Sai are you alright SAI!" Sai awoke from her trance of memory and tired to concentrate on the present.

"So do you know who burned my house down" Sai asked.

The doctor frowned "You shouldn't even be thinking about that your lucky you made it out of your house alive. What's strange to me is that cut on your arm it looks more like a slice than an injury you get from escaping a burning house. But what amazed me most is that your stunning scarlet dress didn't singe at all." Sai looked down in shock.

Her favorite white dress was now a blazing scarlet. She suddenly remembered why it was red and it sent her into a stage of shock. The thought of her wearing the scarlet blood of the queen passed through her head over and over again. It was several hours before Dr, Alan could get her to say another word.

"Sai head policeman Edmund has just arrived. They caught the arsonist that set your house aflame." Said Dr. Alan softly shaking her out of her depression.

Sai turned and looked at the officer. He was a round pudgy human with a rosy complexion that emitted a certain feeling of pleasantry. He smiled at Sai and sat next to her

"Well good day to you Miss Sai. Though I have to say there isn't any good in this day for you. While you were recovering in the hospital we investigated you home and we found your parents. They were both burned to death and their funeral will be held at a predesignated time. But that's not what's important right now. We have just found the man who set you house on fire he was only a few blocks away from you house sitting on a stoop by a parlor. He seamed like a sensible fellow when we first approached him we asked him if he had committed the crime and he answered yes. He gave us his name and drivers license and with that same toothy grin on his face he shot his self in the head. I didn't have time to read the name but I wrote it down before I came here and a piece of paper in my picket."

Officer Edmund fished the sliver of paper from his pocket and to Sai's discus a snicker was emitted from Edmund's mouth.

"What do you find so funny about the man who murdered my parents and burned my house down Officer?" Sai asked peeved from the round mans reaction.

He had an apologetic look on his face "My apologies Sai I am terribly sorry, I wasn't laughing at you situation my dear, I was laughing because this sick rapscallion has two middle names." Sai had to admit is was a tad strange as Officer Edmund handed her she piece of paper. The officer continued "His name was Richard Eric David Queen"

Sai looked up at the officer "That is quite a strange name Edmund. Have you ever had any trouble from him in the past?"

A very puzzled look spread across the Officers face "Well actually now that I look at the license and name, I think he was a delegate for the city last year. He was know for being a kind man. I don't know what could of drove him mad."

"Well Doctor and Madam I am off there are still a lot of matters to be tined to so good evening to the both of you." Head Officer Edmund stood up and started to walk off leaving Sai to tend to her thoughts

As the night progressed Sai sat there in her hospital bed pondering. "That name, There is something wrong with that name." Sai thought to herself . "Richard Eric David Queen" She continued repeating the name to her self over and over and over again until something hit her.

"Richard Eric David Queen" she almost screamed as she grabbed the pad and pencil off the night stand beside her. She started to write out his name on the pad and circled the first letter of his first three names. They spelled the most horrible thing she could have ever read.

They spelled R.E.D. Then the wrote it beside his last name and she realized that dream had been reality "It was the Red Queen. "I cant believe it. It was the Red Queen. IT WAS THE RED QUEEN!" Sai screamed bursting into tears.

Doctor Alan ran into her room with an extremely worried look on his face. "What's wrong Sai"

Sai jumped up from her bed and grabbed Alan by the collar of his white coat "It was the Red Queen" Dr. Alan furled his brow "You mean the fictional character from that book. What about her Miss Sai?"

Sai let go of his collar and slid down to the floor crying "It was the Red Queen who burned down my house"

Dr. Alan furled his eyebrows again "Excuse me! A fictional character can not harm you or burn down you house"

Sai franticly started to search around for evidence. She looked down at the scarlet dress "Do you see this Mr. Alan it was snow white before I went to wonderland and now its completely crimson."

Dr. Alan started to become concerned with Sai's action "Did you say Wonderland?"

Sai nodded nervously "Yes I did. You don't believe me do you."

Alan nodded sympathetically "Sure I do. Now tell me about your Wonderland Sai."

Sai started to tell the Doctor about the other world. She noticed him taking notes. When she finished telling him what had happened. He reassured her that every thing would be taken care of and he exited the room.

Later on that day A snow white goat in a coal black suit walked into Sai's room.

"Good day to you Miss. Sai. I am Dr. Rowland"

Sai stood up and shook his hand "That's quite a strange Last name you have there Doctor."

Rowland just smiled "That's a test I like to give when I first meet people to test their common since and you passed. Rowland is my first name and I wouldn't mind at all if you called my by it. Now if you wouldn't mind would you follow me out of the dreadful place. We have things to do"

Sai frowned "Would you mind if a bathe first I need to get out of these clothes"

Rowland waved her towards the exit to the hospital room "We already have some clothes for you to change into and we have a place for you to bathe at your new living arrangements so come along dear."

Sai finally agreed and started out of the room following Mr. Rowland. As she exited Dr. Alan waved her goodbye.

Sai and Mr. Rowland stepped into the car and driver started to speeded off into an unknown direction.

"So where are we headed Mr. Rowland" Sai asked with one eyebrow higher than the other.

Mr. Rowland frowned "Well Sai you seem like a completely sane person but Dr. Alan told me of your Wonderland and He wanted me to take you to be Psychoanalyzed. He thinks the trauma of the fire and the loss of your family combined could have caused you to temporary madness,"

Sai sighed "Well Sir I assure you that I'm not insane but fighting back would only hinder my argument so I will go. As long as you promise to treat me with respect."

Mr. Rowland Smiled at her reply "We surely will Madam and you will have one of the nicest room available."

Sai nodded sadly "That's nice to hear I suppose." For the rest to the bland ride Sai stared out of the window at the sickeningly vibrant scenery.

The county side faded into a bustling city and they slowly navigated through the busy streets. Sai looked out of the front window of the car and gawked at the giant ten story building they were pulling up to. Mr. Rowland got of the car and went to Sai's side to open her door and help her out of the vehicle. Sai took his hand and he started to escort her into the building. As they walked through the doors. A pair of bulking twins rhinos dressed in white bid them both good day.

Mr. Rowland smiled and greeted them. "Hello Stephan and Steven."

"Hello Sir." they said in unison.

The one on the right Sai assumed to be Stephan was steering at her "Who is this young lady sir? Isn't she a bit to young for you?" Mr. Rowland just scoffed at the remark and walking into the building with Sai on his arm, followed by the giant twin Rhinos.

"For your information ,my good men, this young lady is my latest patient." Stated Mr. Rowland with a smile on his face.

Steven squinted at Sai "She looks perfectly sane to me Sir, are you sure they aren't mistaken?"

Mr. Rowland just shrug his shoulders "Well they tell me she is having issues but she seems perfectly normal to me. Now would you be so kind as to escort her to her room on the top floor?"

Steven and Stephan both warmly smiled at Sai and each of them caught one of her arms and they escorted her up the ten grueling flights of stairs to her room. When they finally made it to her new accommodations Sai was stunned by the beauty of her new room. From they shiny wood floor with the tasteful carpet in the middle to the beautiful cherry wood bed and dress set, and the stunning view of the city, the room as amazing.

Sai looked up to the twin thought was Steven "Could you tell me where the bathroom is I would love to take a bath."

Steven pointed over to the right "Its over there Miss Sai. Oh hold on Miss Sai, before I forget we have a few rules for you. Number one never ever use the elevator to get to the bottom floor. It stops on every level of the building and the lower you go the more the madness of each patient increases. So always make sure you take the stairs okay." Sai nodded in agreement. Steven and Stephan left the room and Sai went over to the cherry wood dresser to see if any of her clothes were in it.

When Sai opened the draws her eyes were set ablaze in Crimson. Every thing in the drawer was red. She opened all the other draws and every thing else was red. Sai started throwing the cloths out of the draws looking for any sign of any other color but to her appall every single shred of cloth in the draws was red.

As she was throwing the clothes to and fro when Mr. Rowland walked into the room with a surprised expression on his face. "Um...Miss Sai what's wrong?"

Sai was starting to panic and hyperventilate "I..i..its all covered."

Rowland walked closer "Its all covered in what?"

Sai turned around and grabbed his collar "It's a..a..all covered in blood"

Mr. Rowland grabbed Sai by her shoulders and smiled at her warmly "Its alright Sai its just red. Its just red dye on the cloths it's not blood its alright."

Sai eyes shot open when Rowland said Dye. "Die....she wants me to die with her."

"Who wants you to die with her?" Mr. Rowland asked as he seated his self and Sai on the bed.

"It's the Red Queen Mr. Rowland she's going to kill me just like I killed her."

Mr. Rowland patted Sai on the shoulder "Its alright Sai me and the guys well protect you from her."

Sai looked up into Rowland's eyes and hugged him "Thank You Rowland." Rowland got up and started for the door and tapped Stephan on the shoulder "Stephan could you please remove all the red garments and replace them with clothes in a different color." Stephan picked up all the scarlet cloths off the floor and briskly exited the room. When he returned he handed Sai a neatly folded stack of clothes in various colors, excluding red.

There was also a box on top of the clothes. "What's this" Sai asked.

Stephan looked at the box "Well Sai is a delivery for you, apparently from someone who knows you."

"Well I will open it after I bath then" Sai sad walking towards the cherry wood dresser to get some clothes to bath in.

Sai Thanked Stephan and headed off to the bath room with a dark blue dress to change into. She slowly walked into the lavish bathroom examining every detail. The sinks were made of marble and every thing was shined to a dazzling white. Sai ran hot water in the tub and disrobed. She sat there in the warm lucid water for what seem like hours until her head was clear from all the tragic things that had happened over the last few days. It seemed like she had been through hell but, sadly hell had yet to come.

Sai got dressed and sat on the bed where Stephan had lain the package. She picked the plain cardboard box and slowly removed the tape. In side the box was sitting the ugliest thing Sai had ever seen. Its was a vintage porcelain doll, and from the looks of it it had wooden hands and feet.

"Uh...Stephan do you know who sent this?" Sai asked looking at the doll in distain

Stephan jumped because he didn't know Sai knew he was there "Um.....no Miss Sai it had no address on it. What is it any way?"

Sai handed Stephan the box and he picked the doll up from the box. "You can have it Stephan. I have always hated dolls. Give it to your daughter or something." Sai said slightly annoyed with the dolls presence.

Stephan looked as if he was pondering something "Well Sai I don't have a daughter but Steven does. Hey Steven!"

"What do you want" Steven asked as he walked in from outside the door.

"Sai said you can give this doll to your little girl when we get off our shift" "Stephan said handing Steven the package.

Steven smiled contently "Thank you Sai she will love it. The tag on its leg says her name is Mary" Sai smiled back "Hmm...I didn't notice that but anyway at least someone will get some use out of it."

Both twins left out of the room and left Sai to her thoughts. The rest of the day went by with out any problems. She spent most of her time thinking ,but she did had time to have a spot of tea with the twins that afternoon. As the sun began to set Sai started to be ready for bed. She had had a long day and she also hadn't slept in quite a while.

As she settled down she finally drifted off to sleep, that is until she started to hear the strangest sound. It sounded like the creaking of wood grind against itself . Sai jerked from her light slumber and thought to herself "It couldn't be the doll, I just couldn't be." She took in her surrounding in the room to make sure. She could see the room very easily due to the huge window on the left side of the room. The pail moonlight was filtering through the crystal clear window panes onto the floor in the room and gave off a creepy iridescent glow.

As the creaking got louder and louder Sai shot up from her beat and stood up straight as a post. Fortunately for her it was Stephan and Steven. They had come to check on her before they left for their homes.

"Thank god its you two, I thought I was loosing my mind" They both just smiled and walked toward her. As they stepped toward her Sai heard the same ,squeaking of wood sound, she had heard before. "Um.....Do you guys know where that sound is coming from its driving me mad"

Both Stephan and Steven's mouth opened like they were about to speak but instead of word the sound of creaking wood come from their mouths. Sai Slowly started to back away from the twins but she tripped over the shoes she had laid neatly in front of her bed.

Before Sai could hit the ground Stephan's cold wooden hands were around her neck. Steven punched the glass out of the window across the room and Stephan lifted Sai off her feet by her throat and touted her across the room. He held her out of the window. Sai looked at Stephan with a pleading look in her eyes but the only response she got back was a skewed smile and the glare of red eyes out of the corner of her room. It was the doll standing up right in the corner grinning wickedly.

"Damn" was the only word Sai could choke out before Stephan let go of her and she plummeted towards the cold pavement of the early morning
