Silly Humans, Card games are for Foxes. -- Chapter 1

Flipping through his purple sleeved deck, the vulpine sighed. He honestly could not find any room for improvement. This was Aki, A 6"2 red fox. His eyes were dark brown, almost black. He had messy purple hair, and wore a black vest with a white short-sleeved undershirt, and dark blue jeans that he wore tightly on his legs. His shoes were halfway up to his knee; they had straps wrapped around them and were eerie looking. He wore a black leather collar that had diamond shaped studs attached to them, and on his neck hung a small medallion that had a paw imprinted on it. He sat alone at one of the many tables that were in the local card shop. He was busy (or killing time should I say) by rummaging through his deck, trying to fix any flaws he could find. His deck was an Infernities, he favored them over all the decks he had made so far. They just seemed so amazing when the vulpine first saw them in action in a world championship duel. He had been playing YuGiOh ever since he was a pup, but only had been a competitive player for maybe a year or so. He the game was probably the only thing that took his mind off all the conflict that he faced in school, home or wherever conflict had shown itself to be. He had made quite a few friends over the year that he had been playing competitively. Everyone always told him that he needed to grow up and throw away his deck, but he never let that thought cross his mind. His ears perked up at the sound of a chair screeching against the floor, he looked up to see a black canine sitting across from him. "Can I help you..?" The vulpine asked quietly. "I wanted to see if you were interested in playing a game with me?" The canine asked back. His eyes were a deep blue, he wore a bright blue hoodie and cargo shorts, and his fur was charcoal black. The fox had seen this particular player around a few times. He reached into his bag and pulled out his lucky Tragodia play mat. Rolling it out on the table," Sure." He said happily.

They both rolled a die, the vulpine rolled a 4, losing to the canine's 6. Drawing their hands, the vulpine examined the cards that he had been dealt. The canine started his turn "Draw for turn." He said cheerfully. "I set one monster, and set 2 cards facedown." He stated as he placed the first cards on the board. "I end my turn." The fox drew, and began his turn. "I summon Dark Grepher and activate his effect, by sending one dark monster from my hand to the graveyard I can send one dark monster from my deck to the graveyard. I discard Infernity Avenger, to send Infernity Archfiend from my deck to the graveyard." The canine smirked, "Infernities huh?" The vulpine smirked in response as he continued on with his turn. His goal was to become handless. That way all his Infernity cards would gain effects. "I'll end my turn by setting 3 cards face down." The canine drew; he then flipped over his face down monster which was revealed to be Grave Keeper's Spy. The vulpine gulped at this. Grave Keeper decks were one of his worst matchups, since they shut down the graveyard. And Infernities revolved around the grave. "I activate Grave Keeper's Spy's effect, and special summon Grave keeper's Descendant from my deck in attack position. Now I tribute Spy for descendant's effect, which let' me destroy one card on your side of the field. I'll destroy your grepher." The vulpine frowned and placed Grepher in the grave. "Now I'll attack you directly with Descendant for 1500,"bringing Aki's LP to 6500, and with that the canine ended his turn. The vulpine sighed with relief. Thankful that he didn't activate Necrovalley, which would have stopped him from doing anything in the graveyard. Drawing his card, he smirked. "I activate the card Infernity Inferno, I discard up to 2 cards from my hand, and then I send the same number of Infernities from my deck to the graveyard." He discarded Infernity Necromancer, and sent Infernity Beetle from his deck to the grave. Which meant his graveyard was officially set up for an OTK (one turn kill). He then normal summoned Infernity Mirage. "Since I have no cards in my hand I can activate his effect, by tributing him I can special summon 2 Infernity monsters from my graveyard." He selected Necromancer and Beetle as his targets. "Now I activate necromancer's effect, which lets me special summon one infernity monster from my graveyard. I special summon infernity archfiend and activate his effect." Since he had no cards in his hand he could add any infernity card from his deck to his hand. "Oh I'm having so much fun." The canine said sarcastically with a chuckle. The vulpine laughed, Infernities usually had fairly long turns, since they synchro summoned about 3 or 4 times in one turn. Not to mention searching out for 4 cards when he pulled off the mini loop. He continued his turn by grabbing Infernity Launcher from his deck with Archfiend's effect. "Now I synchro summon Mist Wurm, His effect lets me send 3 cards on your side of the field back to your hand." And with that the canine's field was cleared out. As he was about to play his next card he was interrupted by Ray, a Saint Bernard, and one of the shop keeps. "Attention Yugioh players! First round is up!" He stated for all to hear. The vulpine looked at the canine as he reached out his paw. They shook, and said good game. He would've won anyway. Looking at the pairings list that was posted at the back of the shop, he was up against someone named Seth at table 9.

Now that the tournament had started, he needed to become focused. He passed by one of the tables where Rafael, one of his good friends, was setting up for the first round. He looked up from the table and greeted the fox. "Oh hi there," He said jokingly. He was a big grizzly; he wore a black hoodie, with blue jeans and black sneakers. On his wrist there was a cloth band with a skull patch. They had met during Aki's freshman year of high school. They met during a after school club for nerds that were into videogames, anime, manga, ect ect. They both played Duel monsters, but back then the vulpine was still a newbie. A whole year later they pretty much compete against each other. "So are you ready for today's tourney?" The vulpine asked with a yawn. He had woken up at 10 AM to arrive there. And waking up early really wasn't his thing, especially on the weekend. "I guess, I mean it's not really different from any other local tourney." He said with a little laugh. "Sure ha-ha. But there are some new faces around today. Probably rejects from the regionals downtown today." The vulpine said with a smirk. "Alright man, good luck today." He said as he headed to table 9 for the first match of the day...
