The Canary (Poem)
This poem was written by Amanda. I am only doing minor editing, and posting them with her permission!
Note to those who know how to write poetry: I'm not sure how to work with this enough so that it's accurate, I added a few bits of punctuation in areas I felt needed them. Please correct me via comment or private message if you know it's wrong! Thanks much!
Please also vote, good or bad, and comment why you think that way so I can tell the author what other people think. She cannot improve if she doesn't know what's wrong.

The canary sits in her cage, crying all alone.
I can't ignore it because I'm sad to see her cry.
She sits on her tiny perch, so far from home;
I can tell by the way she cries, she wants to fly.
She wishes to leave, but she must remain,
So she continues to cry for her wish, all day;
Her tears well up in her eyes, then fall like the rain.
Her master knows her wish, but forces her to stay.
The master sees how the canary's heart aches
Deep inside he feels, the same pain her heart.
The canary longs for the sky, but the trip she cannot make.
If she were to leave, the master would fall apart.
The master is like the canary, trapped and alone.
She is the master's one and only friend.
She cries for freedom, but all her life she has known,
She will always be caged, until her life's end.
Deep inside I wish that she can be free,
All I can do is watch, as the master makes her cry.
I am sad that this is the only place where she can be;
I want to help her, but I instead may to led to cry.
I don't think the master truly sees her pain,
I know the canary is a wild and free soul.
The master doesn't know what he does is wrong,
The canary has in her heart one and only goal;
If the master learns to love, maybe he can finally hear her song.

Geez, I wasn't expecting such a dark poem this time =.= She writes these without any guidelines except those following the SoFurry rules, so she writes what she wants. I'll see if the next one can be a tiny bit on the happier side..
Getting back on a more important topic, please do comment and rate her works. She works hard on them, and has never had anything, besides what's currently posted, shared publicly. The only thing she wants back out of this is to know what her readers think.
