'No...' 'Yes.' 'You serious?!' 'Yes!' 'You mean you have his number for well over two weeks and you still haven't called him yet?' 'And why should I? I mean, he goes to the same school as I do. If he really wants to see me so bad, he could just look me up, right?' 'That's not the point, Ceylan...' 'Then what is?' 'Your not very thrilled by this guy, are you?' 'No, not really... I hardly know him.' 'Then get to know him! He gave you his number for a reason. And the way you described him, I think you like him too. You said you had a lot of fun with him. Just call him and see what'll happen.' 'Fine, I'll text him some time...' 'Look, you're not doing this for me; you're doing it for yourself. Don't text him! Just call!' 'But what am I supposed to say?!' 'Look, you don't wanna go on dates, do you? Atleast, not yet.' 'I've never been on a real date before!' 'And you don't have to! Just call him up and meet each other in the cafeteria or something or during the breaks to get to know him! And you just take it from there.' 'Hm...' 'I mean, what's there to lose? You're thinking way too much about it, Ceylan. Don't.' 'Heh, I guess you're right...' 'That's my girl. It'll be fine, trust me. Just give him a call and give it enough time to get to know him.' 'Thanks...' 'Anytime... Well, I've got to go now. It's getting late and I need to get up early tomorrow. Talk to you soon?' 'Sure thing...' 'Alright... Goodnight luv, sweet dreams...' 'Sweet dreams, babe...'

After Samantha disconnected the call, I stared outside of my bedroom window in the dark while hearing the rain outside. Every now and then, I saw a lightning flash above the city, which illuminated the nightsky, followed by a loud thunderclap shortly after. I also had to get up early the next day but I figured I just wouldn't be able to sleep. I saw it was passed twelve o'clock... Already I was wearing my nightie, which by my standards, was absolutely nothing... And like Samantha said, it has been two weeks since. Being lonely again was difficult for me to deal with now that Samantha and Blain weren't around anymore. Sam always told me that I had to go out to meet new people, that it would be good for me. And I did meet someone. It was at Blain's farewell party where I met a friend of him called Terry... A husky guy... We started to talk and well,he's a fun person to talk to... And by the end of the party, he asked my number. Of course, I didn't give him my number so I asked his number instead. The bad thing about asking someone's number is that the other expects you to give him or her a call. Truth was, I never intended to. But like Sam said, what did I have to lose...?

The next morning, I had a lot of trouble to get up due to the lack of sleep the night before. At half passed eight, I was at the bus stop to take me to Ravello. It usually takes about, mwoah, let's say twenty minutes to get to downtown Ravello when there aren't any traffic-jams. The nice quiet suburbs slowly changed into the bustling city life when you take the bus. In every street, there's at least one skyscraper that had a name of some important corporation. Everywhere you looked, you saw people getting on with their daily lives, from the hotdog seller on the corner to the business people blabbering on their mobiles to close some important deal. Ravello isn't a big city with a population of five hundred thousand people... If you compare it to a city like San Mantégua with a population of more than twenty six million people, then yes, Ravello is quite small... San Mantégua is one of the five largest cities on the planet but the largest of them all is the capital of Nordland, Reykjabergen. I can't even pronounce the name right... The city of Reykjabergen is the largest city in the world, with a population of well over thirty five million people. Blain also mentioned once that Koenigsegg has their main offices there... Not that I actually cared, seeing as I didn't know what the fuck a Koenigsegg is. But with everything, curiosity got the better of me and I had to find out. After I googled it, I found out Koenigsegg is a supercar manufacturer... Awesome, I said sarcastically while he had a huge smile on his face... He didn't expect me to actually look it up... Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked again...

Luckily, there weren't any serious traffic jams. I still had ten minutes to go before my first class... Hard- and software... Even today, I'm still amazed that so many were surprised to see a girl studying IT. And most of the time, I didn't even pay attention to it. I just minded my own business and interacted with people whenever I had to, during the breaks and everything. The conversations with my classmates were mostly about IT things and I never talked about myself. And whenever the day was over, I just forgot about everyone and everything in college. I kept my college and private life separated and never interacted with my classmates outside, even though they often asked me to tag along. It's not that I didn't like them, I just didn't felt like it...

At around twelve o'clock, we had our lunch break and for some reason, the things that Sam said to me the night before kept going through my mind. "Should I really call him...?" I was really making such a big deal out of it while I didn't really know why... And once I started to think logically about it, I couldn't find a reason why I shouldn't... "Oh, for fucks sake, just call the bastard already, would you?" So, I took out my mobile number and scrolled through my contacts list until I found his name... I hesitated for a bit but then pressed the dial button... It kept ringing several times... And then... 'Terry!' 'Hey! It's me, Ceylan, from Blain's party! You remember?' 'Oh hey, how you doing?' 'I'm great, how about you?' 'Doing good, thanks for asking.' 'Listen, I, uh... I-I was wondering if you'd like to meet up some time, you know. Maybe we could talk some more if you like...' 'Sure thing, do you have anything in mind?' 'Well, I'm in the cafeteria, about to have some lunch so if you'd like to accompany me...' 'Which cafeteria? There are like three of 'em.' 'The one on the first floor near the gym in the B-wing. I'm near the vending machines next to the exit.' 'Alright. Are they serving anything special today?' 'Hmmm, hamburgers and meatballs.' 'Sweet, see ya in a sec.'

And I swear, the moment I hung up, I saw Terry coming towards me, holding a tray of stuff with two meatball sandwiches and a hamburger... I didn't notice he was just a couple of meters away when I talked to him... And I was kind of embarrassed of course... Nevertheless, he had a big smile on his face and when I looked at him, I couldn't help but to smile... 'What, I just love those meatballs. They're not serving any of that in C-wing.' 'Hehehe... So your classes are at the other end of the building and you come down here just to talk to me...?' 'Well actually, I'm just here for the meatballs but after you called...' 'You still came for the meatballs.' 'Haha, exactly.' 'Well, don't let me keep you waiting. Dig in.' 'Hehehehe... So... Anything special happening today?' 'In class?' 'Well, that's where you spend most of your day.' 'Oh, well, no, not really. I got an assignment today and they wanted me to fix a pc with two harddrives. Both of them were set as slaves so I changed the jumper until it booted up. Took like, five minutes to fix it...' 'Slaves...?' 'Yeah. A harddisk can be set as either master or slave which is like, primary or secondary. Before the operating system boots, the bios needs to select the primary drive for the operating system to boot. If both of them are set as secondary drives, it won't boot because there are no primary devices to boot from.' 'Okay...' 'Uh, yeah... So... Heh... Anything interesting happened to you?' 'Nope... Just the usual debit and credit stuff...' 'Heh...'

"Oh my god, I'm so terrible at this..." All I could think about was to talk about school... But we were having our lunch-break so school wouldn't be a good topic... He did enjoy his sandwiches and I enjoyed whatever it was I was eating... Most school cafeterias suck but the on at Antonelli was top notch... Still... The good food didn't take away the awkward silence...

I can't really remember what it was all about... But Terry found a topic to talk about: himself. I remember thinking how much of a pompous prick he was to hear him bragging about himself... At some point, I asked him if he really thought he was such a hot shot and the fact that he has rich parents was supposed to impress me or something. And if there's one thing I truly hate, it has to be arrogant people, boasting about how much money and cars they own and shit... Asking me about my social life and everything... He joked about it to the point I felt being mocked by him... So you can imagine that it didn't take long for him to piss me off... Terry didn't get those subtle hints I gave him at first but at some point, I had enough... He even had the balls to ask me out on a date... So I said it straight to his face that he was a pompous bastard and that I didn't give a shit about his money and everything followed by a heated discussion... And at some point, I told him to fuck off... So yeah, I wasn't really nice to him...

Things didn't turn out the way I thought it was gonna be... Several minutes after he left, I wanted to go outside for a smoke... When I got up and placed the empty tray where it belonged, I got out of the cafeteria. I saw Terry was walking in the other direction and all of a sudden, he stopped and turned to his right... A girl with long maroon hair that reached down to her waist was waiting for him, clenching her books on her chest, looking down while I noticed she was talking to him... Terry said something back and well, the girl looked at me from a distance... When I looked back at her, she quickly averted her eyes and looked down while Terry placed an arm around her and they walked off together like that...

'Really...?' 'It was a fucking disaster... I didn't think he was such an asshole.' 'You know... You really have a natural habit of blowing things out of proportions... It was a fight over nothing!' 'Exactly!' 'And you started it!' 'What?! The hell I didn't! The guy was so fucking arrogant! I couldn't stand him! The fuck does he mean with "Hanging out with him is good for me?!" He's the kind of guy who's only interested in scoring some pussy!' 'He didn't say that, you did. You asked him "Hanging out with you is supposed to be good for me?" and he just simply said "yes". You never heard him say that...' 'You know what I mean, Sam...' 'So? I always told you the exact same thing and you'd never made a big deal out of it whenever I said it.' 'Yeah but you never bragged about how much money you own and everything.' 'Granted, he shouldn't have started on his money to impress you, I hate people like that.' 'See?' 'Still, you think you went a little over the top. I'm starting to think that you hate males for some reason or another. You'd swallow everything a girl would throw at you but a guy can better hide for you when he does.' 'You know what? Fuck it. I'm done talking about him.' 'Hehehe...' 'What?' 'You treat every guy who tries to approach you like shit...' 'It's because they are!' 'What about Blain, did he deserve to get treated like shit?' 'Don't go there... Blain and I made up with each other long ago...' 'It's funny because you always tell me that people judge you before they get to know you but you're always doing the same thing to others.' 'Listen, it's getting late... I need some sleep...' 'Okay then. Goodnight, Ceylan...' 'Goodnight babe...' 'Think about what I said...'

"She shouldn't have said that..." Two hours after I went to bed, I was still thinking about the things she told me about myself... And all of a sudden, I remembered what my father used to tell me back when I was little whenever I snitched on Sanjay for doing something bad... Kah jahudi faleyi deni desotimeh nachtuma jilal... It literally means "Remove that log from your own eye before you try to take out that splinter in someone else's eye..." Or in other words; take a look at yourself before you judge others... Terry being arrogant wasn't the only reason why he pissed me off... It's also because he was right about everything... I didn't have a social life... Thinking about it made me realize I blew things way out of proportions... Samantha was also right... I'd take any shit from a girl, nod politely and smile but whenever a guy did such a thing, I got very defensive... I've always had a lot of difficult with males and me being in a class full of males, I finally started to think that I managed to deal with something that happened a long time ago... Truth was, I was only getting started... I realize accepting a male and let him in on my life was a lot more difficult than I ever imagined... And yet... There was something about him that I really liked... He reminded me of myself...

If you know Nikki, you'd probably know her personality. Shy, modest, keeps herself in the background and doesn't like to be in the centre of attention. If she would tell you her story, she'll never tell you her embarrassing moments, things about her past and pretty much everything that she wouldn't feel comfortable to share... She'd never tell you about the day we first met, when we first talked to each other... And I remember that day all too well... You know in movies where people bump into each other and something happens between the two of them...? Something like that happened between the two of us... But not exactly in the way the movies always portray it to be... It happened the day after I met up with Terry. I remember I was very moody that morning about something, can't remember what it was... But as I made my way inside B-wing, I slammed the door open and while I did, I hurt a loud thud... I got so startled by that and once I got through the door, I saw that girl with the long maroon hair, bend over, holding her nose... And it was clear to me that she hurt her nose... Her bag and her books were on the floor and after I saw her like that, my mood changed immediately... 'Oh my god! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to!' 'Ow, that hurts...' 'Is it bleeding?!' 'I d-don't think so...' 'C'mere, sit down...' 'N-No, it's okay... I'm fine...'

I picked up all of her things when she just stood there, still holding on to her nose. And by the looks of it, she had a lot of pain... 'I'm so sorry, I really didn't mean to... You okay...?' 'Y-Yeah...' 'You should have it get checked out, just to be sure...' 'U-Uh... I-I, uh... I-I'm late for class anyway so, uh... I-I got to go...' 'Okay...'

And with that, I gave her stuff back to her... She looked at me but quickly averted her eyes while she had a rather nervous smile on her face... After that, she walked off quickly and just before she turned the corner, I saw she reached out to her nose again... But the question was, what was she doing in B-wing anyway...?

I felt so fucking awful for slamming the door in her face... Every time I was going to my next class, I tried to find her but I forgot that her classes were at the other side of the building... I had to wait until I had my lunch-break in order to see her. And when that finally arrived, I went over to C-wing to find her... But as you might know, Antonelli is a very large college and its easy to get lost with all those buildings... I found her sitting on a bench outside with Terry where the girl was eating her sandwich and the two of them were talking. From the looks of their faces, it seemed as if they were having a serious conversation about something when I saw them from a distance... The moment they noticed me, they stopped talking and the girl immediately got up from the bench... 'Hey... How's your nose...?' 'I-It's nothing serious... It doesn't really hurt anymore...' 'Heh... Again, I'm really sorry...' 'It's okay... Well, uh... I-I'll just leave the two of you alone... I have t-to go anyway...'

And before Terry could say anything to her, she quickly walked off again. She only peeked back once and I watched how she left us until she disappeared in the crowds... And then Terry looked at me... 'Her nose...? She hurt her nose...?' 'Yeah, I accidently slammed the door in her face this morning...' 'Hahaha, oh, you're terrible...' 'It was an accident! She didn't tell you?' 'No, she didn't.' 'Does she always stutter like that or...?' 'Who, Nicole...? She gets very nervous around pretty girls.' 'Heh... So... Are the two of you together...?' 'Haha, no... Nicole's a great friend of mine...' 'I see... So... Uh... Can I sit next to you...?' 'Yeah, sure...'

So I sat right next to him while he just looked at me... 'Listen, Terry, I uh... I think we got off on the wrong foot... And you're kind of right... I don't really have any friends around here and well... I didn't mean to call you an asshole and everything so uh... Yeah, I'm sorry... I wasn't really nice to you...' 'Apology accepted.' 'You have to admit though, bragging about you being rich and all was really uncalled for...' 'What?! Are you kidding me?! You think I was bragging about how much money I own?! Dude! I told you that I live on Chesterfield lane and yes, those are million dinar mansions but that doesn't mean I'm rich! My parents are but I'm not! I still have to work my ass off to pay my insurances! You honestly think that I'm a rich spoiled brat or something?! I drive a Seat Ibiza... It's not like my parents give me money whenever I need it, I still have to work for every penny that I need.' 'Uh...' 'Whaha, I can't believe that you thought I'm rich... Honestly...' 'I uh... I feel so stupid now...' 'You should! Haha, oh man...' 'Damn...' 'Well... We can pretend that conversation never took place...' 'Already forgot that it ever happened...' 'Maybe we can go back where we left off.' 'Yeah...' 'Listen, I'd like to take you out some time.' 'And do what...?' 'I don't know, somewhere you like to go...' 'You mean a club or...?' 'Yeah, or a pub or hell, we can even go bowling or play miniature golf some time if you like.'

"Don't ask...!! Don't you dare ask him why!! Don't fuck it up again!!" I think that was the most difficult for me... Not to ask him why he wanted to get to know me or what he really wanted with me... I thought about it way too much again... 'Hehe... You're just like me...' 'Why's that?' 'Because you just don't take no for an answer...' 'Exactly, and I'll keep whining until you give in. So do us both a favour and go out with me some time.' 'I've never played miniature golf before.' 'Seriously?' 'Yes... I'd love to...' 'Well, I was just kidding when I told you that but... Sure, okay... Miniature golf it is, then.' 'Hehehe...' 'So how long 'till your break is over?' 'Still have ten minutes left, how about you?' 'It just started; still have half an hour left.' 'Hm...' 'So, a feline, huh...?' 'Hehehe, yeah... Does it show?' 'Yup... Do you go nuts when you see a ball of yarn or a laser-sight?' 'Nope, I used to climb the curtains when I was little, though. My mother didn't like that...' 'Hehehe...' 'Do you chase your own tail?' 'Nope.' '... Uh-huh...' 'I used to do that all the time back when I was a pup.'

Those ten minutes passed by quickly... When I had to get back, I felt kind of relieved... I jumped to my own conclusion way too fast about him... But I still had to wait and see for myself... Nevertheless, when I walked back to my class, I noticed Nicole looking at me from a distance from behind a pillar... When I smiled back at her, she nervously smiled back and looked away...
