Under The Solemn Promise 10-11-12-13-14-15
CHAPTER 10
I was sitting quietly crosslegged on the floor refreshed from the shower and the soft clothes that I now wore even though they didn't fit exactly. I sat silently but couldn't help but feel Daichi's eyes on me. He spoke his voice low. "We can't go anywhere until you shapeshift..."
I looked up at him and breathed the words. "Yes, I know this..." I was frightened by my own words, frightened about the idea... I silently shook my head clearing my thoughts and closed my eyes. "How do I do it...?" I asked softly.
"Think of the form you wanna be... Long for it, reach for it, demmand for it, and your body will do the rest..." I opened my eyes looking at him and nodded, then closed them once agian.
I took a deep breath and imagined how much I wanted to be human agian, to keep all my memories, to not be a freak. My soul longing to be free and into a human's body, I felt my soul reach for it, wanting and needing it. My stomach felt uneasy, and tense. I whined softly, "What happens if I can't change?"
He narrowed his eyes and spoke quietly. "I don't know..."
My skin seemed to crawl and I let out whimpers. He sat beside me keeping my company and support. I gasped sharply as my body convulsed and shook unforgivingly. My fingers dug into the floor, my breath sharp and raggid. My heart pounding wildly in my chest. My eardrums aching, I cried out and he took my paw holding it in his. A felt the crack before I heard it, the crack of bones moving and reshaping in a different form of anatomy. I wanted to scream in agony but I couldn't seem to find my voice. I panted, "Daichi, I change my mind I don't wanna shapeshift anymore... I am stopping, I can't do it anymore..."
"No Alex!" He raised his voice slightly, squeazing my hand. "You're almost there. You give up now you won't be able to change at all."
I let out a sob, "But its hurting me!"
He pulled me agianst him holding me in his arms. His warmth comforting, as well as his scent, and his voice as he mummered quietly, saying that I could do it. I pressed my face into his chest, shivering violently. The change seeming to come a little easier now. I don't know if it was because I was being supported, or how near he is to me. All I could think about was him and the change. I heard him speak softly. "You're almost there, Alex. Almost there..."
I lay there quietly panting softly, feeling my muscles move and twitch. I lifted my paw and touched the side of his face. I burried my face agian in his chest and let out a sharp muffled cry filled with agony. He whimpered and I dropped my paw balling into a fist, feeling the nails digging into my paw pads. He kept silent with me in his arms, my face still burried agianst his torso crying silent tears.
He held me tight, "Its over, you're okay. I got you... I promise I do." My body still shivering and shaking, slowly the pain was fading away. My muscles went limp and I just lid there in Daichi's arms. His thumb stroked the fur on my back. Then the shivering stopped and I could feel my muscles and I wrapped my arms around him hugging him tightly. The familiar texture of human skin now replaced the fur. I was human...
He shifted also but with so much ease that I felt weak and stupid. He looked at me with warm, loving, amber eyes and spoke. "You did it." I didn't and couldn't say anything back. I was afraid to. For now all I wanted was to be held close and feel safe in the arms of a loved one. And it seems that he is the only one I have left. I put my head on his shoulder and whimpered. "I don't want to change back..."
He huggged me close and spoke with understanding and love. "I know you don't. You'll have to eventually though..."
CHAPTER 11
We both sat in the car silently listening to music. I wasn't very picky about music, never have been. So I just let Daichi listen to whatever he wanted. I looked out at the window. At every shadow, plant, thing. My eyesight had improved. I was sure my eyes could see a lot more and with detail. I watched as cars passed us then occassionally looked to the sky.
One of the rules for not seeming suspicous was to keep quiet, and not stare at other humans. Even though we looked human, didn't mean some of our original form didn't show. Our eyes were similiar, but still different. Diachi's were amber, still very similar to his original form's. But unlike mine, mine were turned to dark brown with golden rings around the pupils. The gold would catch in the sunlight, but not in the dark. Therefore the gold would only be able to be seen when the sun was on my eyes.
I sighed quietly and rested my head on my hand looking out the window.
We went inside a mall and Daichi told me I could get whatever i needed or desired. I nodded and grabbed a hollister jacket, some skinny jeans, converse, tanktops and black shorts. I walked into the dressing room and i felt nauieatid.
No.... Please not now.... My skin began to crawl and goosebumps covered my skin. My bones twisted carefully and slightly but with some force. Oh god.... Was I going to change here? No. No. No. no....
I was panicing and called out to Daichi putting my clothes back on. I had only little time before I would change back. "Daichi, we need to go now..." I threw the clothes that I was going to buy over the door to him. "Hurry...." My voice cracked and my eyes widened. There has to be some way....There has to be a way we can get out of here in time... I panted my breath sharp and pushed myself agianst the walls and used them to help me stand. Oh god Daichi... please hurry.... Bones snapped and cracked and I let out a cry. My fingers on my hand snapping in several different places. I shook violently crying bloody tears. I let out a gurgled cry, and whimpered. What I feared was tha I would be changing here. The fear was coming true....
CHAPTER 12
I knelt on my knees my arms shaking as the last of the muscles twist and turn moving back into place. My wings werent present, and that was a good thing. Daichi returned quickly and when he did all the lights turned off. Daichi busted through the door peices of wood flying everywhere. He had the bag of clothes and helped me up, wrapping his arm around my waist. I swayed and struggled to keep balance. I was weak. Weak and vulnerable. "I got you..." He grunted quietly as he helped me down the hall, we walked quickly, in the shadows. Then a gun shot was fired. I felt a agonizing pain in my right leg and I cried out in pain. My heart pounded and screams of people filled the air. Daichi growled and I whimpered my head falling on his shoulder. I was going to die. Eventually all who are born die...
CHAPTER 13
There was a crash and my back slammed into the concrete floor. My eyes widened and the familar death filled voice spoke. "Well, if it isnt Project UNDEROATH5961 and Project 994001." I struggled for breath and blood ran from my mouth, the stitches shredding some of the skin. The voice... it was K9QRZ. The smell of rotting flesh filled my lungs and I spit more blood. I sat up and Daichi ran straight for him. I stood weakly pushing myself onto my knees and standing up. I spoke harshly my ears pinned back. The bullet still making my leg scream in pain. "I thought I killled you, K9QRZ...." I sank my claws into the ground and growled. I stared into his eyes. The look on his face looked as if he wanted to take a bite out of me and slaughter me. I grabbed my knife from my pocket and held it tight. He cackled all those evil eyes on me.
He grabbed Daichi and threw him into the wall. My companion's skull smashed into the tile surface. "DAICHI!" I screamed. Blood covered the wall, his head swayed as he struggled to stay awake. I jerked my head back towards K9QRZ. Summoning all the last of my strength, I launched myself off the ground and crashed into him. I grabbed his face with both hands, my grip dangerous and unforgiving. My claws dug into several of his eyes and I brung my leg up to kick him in the jaw. His jaw broke and I rammed my skull into his with such a force that the air around us filled with the sickening crack. He dropped to the ground holding his head and yelling. "You mother fucking bitch! How dare you!"
I hit the ground with a thud, again on my back. God, by the time all of this ends I am gonna crippled. Either that or seriously messed up. I stood quickly, getting dizzy, but still I ran to K9QRZ and grabbed his skull using all my weight and smashed it as hard as I could into the hard floor. His scream was agonizing and loud as his head contacted the floor. Silence then filled the hall and I darted to Daichi.
"Daichi?!" I spoke and took his face in my hands.
He opened his eyes and smiled weakly. "Hey Alfy..."
"Stay with me...C'mon... We gotta get outta here.." I winced as I got his arm around my shoulder and wrapped my arm around his waist. My wings spread around us sheilding us. I couldn't help but feel on the verge of tears. I perked my ears, and caught sounds of running feet, nails, and growls. Dogs....
CHAPTER 14
"Daichi... Hold on..." The sound of the dogs were getting closer and I spread my wings out seperating each of the charcoal feathers. Come on.... Damnit. I moved my wings in a rhythmic pattern and pinned back my ears baring my teeth. COME ON! I growled sharply and pushed my wings faster and with more force. The weight on my feet was less and Daichi looked over at me with frightened eyes. I kept him close and dogs tumbled down the hall and snarled missing my legs and I kicked one in the head so hard that it was sent spiralling into the wall. All the bones in it's body cracked.
"Damn nuisccence." I growled sharply.
I nuzzled Daichi and spoke with care. "Stay with me Fluffy-butt. I need you..." I turned backwards and let my back take the hit of the window and whimpered. Being a loyal comarade is a pain in the ass... I thought silently and flew as fast as I could and kept a firm hold of Daichi. There has to be someone who we can go to for right now... At least until we can be safe and recover. But who...? I thought for several moments and then the name came to my head. Akira Valentine. She has to help us... She is the only one now.

CHAPTER 15
I honestly wished that I would have practice flying. We had crashed several times and I was careful for it to not effect Daichi. So I took the hits, my back rammed into metal, glass, and even a car. I flew up high and then began lossing altitude. I closed my eyes, my wings folded and we were plummeting to a horrible death. Someone yelled and it wasn't Daichi, but it was another familiar voice.
My wings shot through the air and we glided lazily in the sky. I saw then the cry's maker and my eyes widen. It was a human girl with long slender legs in skinny jeans and a elegant dress shirt. Akira Valentine! I couldn't help but smile in joy and hope. She was here by a stroke of pure luck. A thought filled my head, one that wasn't mine.
"Come on Alex! Bank low, towards the black car around the corner and get in. Its mine. You will be safe there. I'll take you both somewhere safe." The sweet and friendly voice spoke.
"Okay, hurry up and get to your car. It wont take me that long..." I thought back. As soon as I thought that, the girl dissapeared and I could see her running down the street racing towards the car. I pulled my wings back and pushed hard on them lowering and skimming over building rooftops. I slid around the corner and closed my wings. The charcoal colored appendidges wrapped around Daichi and took some of his weight off of me. I walked to the car and looked up to see the girl. "Hey Alex." She spoke with a soft smile.
I frowned slightly warning her that I was serious and different. No longer the innocent and merciful human I used to be. Crimson blood drips from my mouth from an earlier victim. "Its not Alex, its Underoath...."
