Chapter 13: This is how it goes?
KRYSTAL's POV
Feeling like an oven I threw the covers on the other side of the small tent only to bring the entire tent down.
"Ugh...I really need to watch my own strength."
I heard sound of ruffling and panic underneath the tent where I threw my covers. I crawled out of the tent and took a nice long stretch, then turned around and I leaned in close to examine the damage. The ruffling from under the tipped over tent continued, so I clenched my fist for whatever it could be making the noise.
I reach for the tent and flipped it over, jumping back for whatever it could be. Only to reveal that it was Sasha who was in a fighting stance facing the opposite way. I think she must be still be confused by what happened.
"Sasha!" I yelled to her trying to surprise her.
Almost doing a backflip to turn and face me, her fur stood on its end as she remained in her fighting stance. She became calm once she saw my face, and took a nice long yawn.
"Mmm...Morning Head Lady what's up?" She said as if nothing happened.
"You, ya scary Skitty!" I said teasing her.
She began to stretch, and then shake. She look to the tent and the surrounding area, she look back to me and asked, "So what happened here?"
"Hehe you really don't remember do you?" I asked her questioningly.
"The only thing I remember was being wrapped up in something and hitting something very hard."
"About that...I think you were lying on top of me and were starting to burn me up so I tossed you to the side which caused the tent to come down. Hehe my bad think you can forgive me?" I said apologetically.
She began to shake her head then said, "Nah don't worry about it I'm used to it by now, so you ready to continue the pursuit of our large aqua team member?"
I nodded to her and replied, "Yeah, but the sun must have just came up so let's get cleaned up so we can eat and I can get dressed."
"Yeah I don't think they'd let us into the city with a half-naked trainer." She said looking me up and down.
It caused me to stare down at myself only to see that the long tee that I bought had a large tear in the center of it. I took a long sigh and then shook my head. I walked over to Sasha and petted her on the head, she look to me with a smile and turned her attention to the tent.
After about thirty minutes of taking down the tent and getting something to eat from my backpack. I stood up and took a nice long stretch myself. Then look at the town up ahead, from the looks of it; it looks like any oh other town, but just a bit more peaceful, hopefully I will be able to find him there.
'Hmm...if I were a homeless Pokémon with nowhere to go inside a town what would be the first place I would stop?' I thought to myself as I made my way back over to my back pack to pick out some clothes for the trip into the town. I pulled out a yellow shirt and a pair of black biker shorts with a red skirt to go over it.
Once I finish getting dress, I looked back to see Sasha raking her claws on a tree not too far from where I stood. I shook my head at the sight and made my way over to her, while doing so I looked to the sky and to the sun which was shining brightly.
"So you ready?" I asked her stopping half way away from her.
"Yeah was just sharpening up. Let's go!" She said removing her claws from the tree. She turned to me and met me the other half way, I then turned around and we both began to process toward the town.
Ten minutes of quiet walking pass by before we arrived on the edge of town. I look down to Sasha who was just smiling as she skipped besides me. I broke the silence saying, "Sasha hold up I need to put my headphones on, before we go in there."
She look to me and nodded with the same smile on her face.
I began pulling off my back pack and started digging around in it; I wanted to know what was making her so happy so I asked her, "What has you in such a jolly mood this morning?"
With smile not wanting to leave her face she replied, "Oh nothing really just the feeling of going on an adventure with my master to look for a friend. Is somehow relaxing and knowing that someone needs me, without going through my mind for information." She said with a blush slowly surfacing on her ebony face.
I continued to feel around in my back pack till I felt the hard object I kept wiggling them until they were free from my back pack I looked up at Sasha and said, "I'm glad to see that you're having so much fun, and it's a pleasure to have you with us." Now placing the headphones on my head and strapping my back pack on me, I look to Sasha and nodded.
With that out of the way we proceeded to the town, passing a sign saying 'Welcome to Ecruteak City.'
I quickly notice how the town was in an uproar, with many people running around, and shouting. I slid the headphones down to my neck to get a better understanding of the situation. The only thing that was loud here was the people, for a city this place is kind of small hopefully that'll make looking for the water giant easier.
As Sasha and I walked to the first block there was a group of people having a discussion with each other, as I approached them I slowed my steps down so I could hear them better.
"Dude, I know I tried to catch it..." The first man wearing a red shirt said.
"Yeah man I saw you; I wonder where it was going?" Another man wearing a green turtle neck said.
"Shut up you two! We need to find it before anyone else gets their hands on it. The nurse said that it was gone when she went to check on it this morning." A woman with pink hair and wearing a tight orange dress yelled.
Sasha and I kept walking to not bring any more attention to ourselves. She was too busy looking at the people running around acting like fools to notice anything else.
I reached my hand down and flicked her on the tail to get her to listen to me. She quickly looked back up to me and smiled; I nodded to her and pointed to the Pokémon Center that was just up ahead.
"Oh my, I haven't been to one of those in a while." Sasha said smiling.
"Well you'll keep waiting because we're going there for info."
"Yes, Head Lady."
Not wanting to wait any longer we pick up our pace and began light jogging/trotting to the center. It was only a few blocks away and the way everyone is running all over the place we wouldn't raise suspicion.
As we approached the front door to the center we could see that there was a crowd of people standing behind the glass door. 'I wonder what they could be up to.' I thought to myself as doors slid open for us. The crowd was huddled around the front counter, but from where I stood I couldn't see anything.
"Wait outside for me this is going to get ugly I can tell." I said turning to Sasha who was standing right behind me.
With a nod she complied and left out the lobby. I look back to the crowd and shook my head. Taking a deep breath I began to push through them as if they were jelly. Once I was through half of them, I felt a hand grab me on the butt. I immediately turned around to see who done it, but everyone looked the same in my eyes.
I decided to ignore it and focus on the task at hand. As I pushed and shoved the mindless drones out of the way my head began to hurting badly. I pick the Headphones off my neck and placed them on my ears, although they didn't work out as much I'd like them to, though it was better than nothing.
Almost to the counter I gave one final shove and popped out of the front near the counter. Stood Nurse Joy, who had a worried look on her face. She took both of her hands and placed them on her chest, then asked me nervously, "Let me guess you're looking for the Feraligatr as well?"
My face lit up like an explosion once I heard that statement. I balled my fist up as hard as I could and gritted my teeth with a slow grind on them. There was still people yelling and asking questions to the nurse, which was damn near splitting my head open.
At that point I couldn't take it anymore, so I close my eyes, and then I took my right fist that was balled and slammed it down on the front counter with all my might. "Shut up!" I yelled loudly so that everyone could hear me. When I opened my eyes up again I could see that the counter was broken, but at the time that didn't matter to me.
The entire center was completely silent; I turned around to look at the effect of my actions. To see that everyone had their eyes on me and was in complete shock of me.
"Boo!" I said sternly frowning.
Everyone quickly made their way out of the Center; some of them were in a panic about it as well. I turned back to face the Nurse who was now backed up against the one of the healing machines that she uses for Pokémon.
"Please don't hurt me." She said innocently holding both her hands up to me, with her eyes closed in a surrendering manner.
"Look I'm not here to hurt you; I just want to know about that Feraligatr you're talking about."
"I don't know it came in here last night with a broken hand I fixed it up and it was gone when I went to check up on it this morning." She said lowering her arms to the front of her chest breathing a sigh of relief.
"Dammit I'm too late, that giant ass knew I was coming. If only I came here last night I would have caught him." I said to myself rubbing my temples.
"Do you know the Feraligatr?" She asked.
"You can say that, we're partners and he's in a lot of trouble so I need to find him and beat the stuffing out of him!" I said punching my fist into my open hand.
"Ugh, if I were him I'd be running as well." She said mumbling to herself.
"I heard that...anyway how did he get a broken hand?"
"Hehe...I'm not sure myself all I know was that everyone in town was chasing after him when he first came in here." She said with a worried smile.
"So everyone out for a hunt for my partner eh..." I said sighing to myself looking off to the wall of the Pokémon Center. 'Shit this'll be a piece of cake if Max helping me, somehow he always have a way to find things.' Shaking the thought from my head, and then look back to the Nurse who was still standing in her same position. "Ok two more question then I'm out of your hair."
"Shoot....not literally please don't shoot me..."
This lady was beginning to get on my last nerve with this whining I took a deep breath to relax myself then asked, "Could the Feraligatr talk?"
She perked right up, then looked to the side not wanting to answer question.
I took her silence as a 'yes', so I proceeded to question two by asking, "Having already drawn a lot of unwanted attention, is there a back way out of here?"
She placed a finger to her lip and began thinking, after a moment or two she brought her finger down from her lip and pointed to a door that was on the opposite side of the room.
I nodded to her and began walking away from her.
"Oh crap Sasha, I almost forgot!" I said as I now ran towards the front door. As the doors slid open I saw a crowd of people hovering near it. Once again I was forced to push my way pass them all, with all their voices combine was bringing back that headache of mine.
"Sasha!" I yelled as I continued to push into the wall of people. As I got closer to the end of all the people, I felt another hand pinch me on the butt. I immediately turned around, and saw who it was; there stood a chubby guy with glasses that was breathing very heavily. I dropped down to my knees and gave him my strongest rising upper cuts which caused him to fly above the crowd and land on some people who were further behind.
I reached into my back pocket and pulled out Sasha's Pokéball, and continued pushing through the crowd of people. Once I breached the final line of the people barrier I saw Sasha with her back up against the wall of the Pokémon Center.
"Sasha!" I yelled again, but this time she heard my voice and looked up. I showed her the Pokéball that I had she smiled and nodded to me. I pointed the ball to her and returned her into her ball. This made everyone look around to where the beam of light went to. I made my escape back into the Center before anyone had notice.
Once inside the Center I waved to the nurse who was still behind the counter, she smiled and nodded back. I left through the side door that she'd showed me, which lead me into an open area that was right across in front of what seem to be a dojo.
I didn't want to sit and think about it, I dashed off towards the nearest opening into the forest. Seeing a group of people heading towards the same exit as I; I decided to pick up speed to get pass them faster.
Zipping pass the group cause most if not all of the group to drop to the ground, and watch as I ran faster and faster.
"Hehe." I giggled to myself from the sight.
As I made my way into the forest I came across a sign saying 'Route 42 this way' I knew I must be going in the right direction. For some reason it felt as if he himself was guiding me to him.
When I put some distance between me and the town I started to slide to a halt thinking about the times me and Ferali had spent with each other. I really like during our training he was always coming up with ways to combine his attacks to sometimes to trick me. Though half the time they wouldn't work, but he kept at it till he was able to touch me.
I began giggling again as a tear rolled down my face, with these emotions I started becoming confused. I knew in my heart I loved Max or that's what I wanted to feel...but Ferali I'm not sure but I think I'm starting to develop feelings for him. Maybe because he's the first Pokémon that I've met that didn't run away from me or that I could hurt by accident the only Pokémon who I truly felt that I could trust and would trust me. Despite being a freak in all he didn't care he understood who I was and just accepted me for who I am.
Thinking that added to my resolve I began to dig into my backpack and retrieve Sasha's Pokéball. Once I found it I gently tossed it into the air. When she was released she started had her eyes closed shaking her head wildly.
"Sasha, calm down!" I yelled grabbing her by the horn and shaking her.
"Huh-wah? What's going on...Oh Head Lady, it was awful." She began to whimper.
I pulled her closer for a hug, and then I released her. Leaving my hand on her head I smiled to her saying, "Don't worry that was a bad call on my end, didn't realize those idiots were going to bother you like that."
"It's ok Head Lady, no one got hurt and we're together that's what really matter." She said now smiling.
"Umm...yeah...sure." I said fake smiling to her not wanting to mention the guy I hit. "Anyway you ready to go? I'm sure if we keep heading this way we're bound to find The Lake of Rage."
"Well actually Head Lady we're headed in the right direction."
"Huh? How do you know?" I asked her.
"Well I've been there before..."
"Really why didn't you say anything before?" I said even more confused than ever.
"I didn't think it would matter, it was a really long time ago. Now that I think about it that's where I came into contact with that Psychic."
I stood up and nodded to her, she nodded back to me. We began to walk and talk with each other as I the lead. "So how did you come into contact with the psychic?" I asked her.
"Well it was about two weeks ago, after my original master abandoned me..."
"Abandoned you?!" I yelped slipping down a small hill. "Hehe yeah one day I was with her and the next I was in the middle of a forest alone and confused. I don't know why she did it because she was a great trainer and together we won plenty battles and trained together. Just then she was gone..." She said trailing off in thought stepping down to where I was.
"So you didn't find any reason to why she left?"
"Not a one...anyway I began to wonder around aimlessly till I came across the lake. There stood a woman in the middle of the lake on top of the water looking in the opposite direction of where I was. There was also a large beam of light that engulfed the entire lake; I could swear I was blind by the time it ended."
We continued walking through the thickening forest as she continued with her story. I just remain quite as she kept talking, the more she went on the more I realized how much she'd been through, and how training with Ferali and myself would seem enjoyable somehow.
"The woman never moved an inch as she then turned to face me; naturally I got scared and ran away. Only to be caught heading into the forest, I couldn't even fight back the way attack the blow was very fast and precise as it knocked me out immediately." She stopped then sighed. "I only heard a man's voice; it sounded very cold and dark. After that I blacked out and basically you know the rest."
"Hmm...wow I didn't know you'd been through so much. Must have been hard for you, I'm sorry to hear that." I stop then turned to her and began to pet her on the head. "How about this once we find that idiot of ours we have an adventure just the three of us, sounds good?"
"Yeah I'd like that Head Lady." She said leaning into my hand.
"For now on we only look forward to happier days ok, this is how it goes ok?"
"Ok!"
