EVIL DOESN'T DIE BOOK ONE CHAPTER FIVE.

I finished the last chapter with Ariel turning into a werewolf. The werewolf responsible for Ariel's transformation was killed by his new hunting pal also changed the name of Ariel's hunting pal from Alexis to Betim. However, today I'm forced to have to change it to Eric Carballo, due to reasons that I really don't have time to explain. Oh, and just to let you all know, this chapter takes place about two months and 13 days after Ariel and Eric killed the werewolf. Anyways, I've already told you what happened in the last chapter, so without further-ado, sit back, eat some popcorn, and take a sip of beer, because this featured presentation starts now. And many thanks to Nex-Canis for his Editing of this chapter.

Which one you gonna believe in?

Aliens? Or the Chupacabra?

Houston, Texas. 9:12 a.m. July 20th, 3028.

As Ariel crossed the Texas-New Mexico border, he turned to Eric and said, "welcome to the hottest place we've been to so far. Welcome to Houston." Eric smiled and asked Ariel why they had traveled to Houston for. "Well buddy boy, we's is here because of some animal mutilations. Several types of animals were killed, and drained of their blood. I'm guessing it's aliens." Eric glanced at Ariel, with a look of disbelief on his face. Instead of providing Eric with an explanation, Ariel just smirked, and returned his attention to the highway in front of him. He was paying attention for more than five minutes, when a sign for a hotel caught Ariel's eyes. Looking around his car and seeing no one around him, Ariel turned into the exit for the hotel. Within minutes, he was inside the hotel's parking lot, and grabbing his wallet. As soon as he found his wallet, Ariel got out of his car, closed the door, and said, "Eric, you stay here. If anybody does something to this car," before continuing, Ariel took out his handgun, and inserted a magazine into it. "If anybody does something to this car, kill 'em." With those words, Ariel tossed his gun into his car, and walked over to the hotel's lobby. Upon entering, Ariel was greeted with bright lights, and was greeted by the hotel clerk, a human male called John.

"Good morning sir. How can I help you on this fine day?" asked John as he headed back to his desk. Ariel followed the man over to the desk, and took out his wallet. "I'd like to rent a two bed hotel room for about a week and a half." said Ariel. John nodded his head, then turned to his computer tablet, and searched for a room that matched Ariel's specifications. It didn't take him long. A minute later, he was handing Ariel his room card, and asking Ariel how he was going to pay for the room. "I'll be paying in cash. How much is the room?" asked Ariel as he took out some money from his wallet. The answer he got, nearly made him drop his wallet. "The room is going to cost me a thousand dollars? You feenin' man. Why the room cost so much?" John calmly told Ariel that the room cost 100 dollars a night. Grumbling, Ariel counted out the money, and handed it to the clerk. As soon as the clerk said everything was set, Ariel left the lobby, and headed back to his car. About halfway there, he signaled for Eric to get out of the car and get his stuff. The lion quickly complied, and by the time Ariel reached his car, Eric was waiting for him, bags in hand. Puto maricon. Ese cabron se puede joderse. As Ariel was thinking this, he grabbed his bags from his car, and told Eric to follow him to their room. As soon as they entered the room, Ariel let out a low growl. Even after specifying what kind of room he wanted, the hotel clerk still gave him a one bed hotel room. _Hmmm. Que typos de torture can I inflict on the bastard. _Sighing, Ariel threw his bags onto the hotel bed, then headed over to the bathroom to cool off.

A farm in Houston. 9:27 a.m.

"Sally, I'm headed to go check on the animals." shouted a male ferret to his wife. Sally was quick to reply, "don't be late for brunch. Oh, and Tony? Remember to feed the dogs." Tony rolled his eyes at his wife's nagging, then headed over to the barn. Taking out a key from his pocket, and slipping into the padlock he used to lock the barn at night, Tony opened the lock, and walked into the barn. At first glance, all seemed fine. It wasn't until Tony looked into the stall where he kept his prized horse, did he realize something was wrong. His horse, a Clydesdale called Racing Thunder, was lying on the ground, its eyes glazed over. Almost immediately, Tony knew his horse was dead. Just before he turned away to grieve, he noticed two small marks on the horse's neck. Opening the stall, Tony walked up to the horse's corpse, and bent down to get a closer look. To his eyes, the marks looked like puncture wounds. What made them stand out from a puncture wound cause by a knife, was the fact that each wound was perfectly circular. Huh. Wonder what could have made wounds like that? Shaking his head, Tony righted himself, and stepped out of the stall. As he was closing the stall door, he looked up at the ceiling of the barn, just in time for something to fall on top of him. All the way back at the house, Sally glanced up from the sink as a high-pitched scream came from the barn. Furrowing her brow, Sally wiped her hands on a towel, and picked up a knife. Holding the knife out, she walked out of her house, and walked over to the barn. She was surprised to see that it had been left open, and her husband was nowhere in sight. This ain't good. Making sure that she held the knife steadily, Sally walked into the barn, then let out a scream. Her husband's body was on the ground, surround by a small pool of blood.

Sally's house. 10:34 a.m

After having cooled off, Ariel had changed into a suit, and had told Eric to do the same. When the lion asked why, Ariel simply told him that they had a job. A while later, Ariel and Eric were standing outside of Sally's house, knocking on the door. "Ma'am, we're the NCIS. We're here to talk about the death of your husband." said Ariel as he waited for the ferret to answer. After another five minutes of waiting, Ariel stepped back from the door as Sally opened it. "How can I help you?" Taking out his badge, Ariel quickly identified himself and Eric, then got down to business. "Ma'am, we understand you're husband died today. We also understand he was a former member of the military. Could you tell us what happened?" Instead of answering, Sally invited Ariel and Eric into her house, and told them to sit in the living room. As the ferret closed the door behind her, she started speaking. "My husband, Tony, went to the barn to check on the animals. Since it usually takes him a while to do that, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary when he wasn't back right away." Sally paused as she walked into the living room and took a seat. "Take your time ma'am. We're not going to rush you." said Eric as he watched tears form in Sally's eyes. Sally nodded, and took a deep breath. Letting it out slowly, she went back to explaining her story. "After a while, I heard a loud scream come from the barn. I grabbed a knife, and walked over to the barn. When I entered the barn, I saw a small figure scurry away. I then noticed my husband's bloody body. I ran back to the house, and called you guys." Ariel nodded his head as he heard Sally's story. Glancing towards the barn, Ariel frowned as he tried to figure out what kind of creature was responsible for what happened. "Ma'am, when you saw your husband's body, did you notice any marks on him? And did you get a good glance at that creature?" asked Eric as Ariel leaned back against his seat, thinking. Sally closed her eyes, and raised her head to the ceiling, thinking. "Now that you mention it, I did notice two small wounds on his neck. As for the creature, it looked scaly, and about the size of a kitten." Eric thanked Sally, then told Ariel to follow him out of the house.

Once outside, Ariel and Eric walked to the car, and the both of them leaned across the hood, trying to think about Sally's story. As they thought, Ariel took off the tie he had to wear, and said, "well, there's only one creature responsible for this. It's aliens." Eric just ran his paws through his mane and shook his head. "You sure it's aliens? Couldn't it be something else?" Ariel shook his head, and reasserted that Tony's death was due to aliens. Not wanting to argue, Eric just nodded his head, and asked how they were going to kill the alien. "That....is a good question." With those words, Ariel looked off into the distance, a look of indifference on his face. Sighing, Ariel climbed into his car, and reached into the glove compartment. Checking to see that Eric wasn't looking, Ariel took out a small pill bottle. Only I would think it's okay to take these pills on a regular basis. It's the only reason why I'm always awake. As he thought about what he was doing, Ariel turned the pill bottle around to read the label. On the label, the word Amphetamines was printed in bold letters. Letting out a tired yawn, Ariel opened the bottle, and took out three pills. Popping them into his mouth, he swallowed each one without water. Almost immediately, Ariel felt the pills kick in, and he was suddenly wide awake. _Time to find out how to kill some aliens. _Smiling, Ariel told Eric to get into the car, and they were on their way back to the hotel.

Location: A police station. Time: 11:58 a.m

"Hey yo Will! You heard about the murder up by Sally's house?" asked an officer to the secretary at the station. Will shook his head as he continued writing out paperwork. "Some creature attacked Sally's husband. We would've gone there, but Tony was ex-military. NCIS beat us there." explained the officer, a fat Doberman named Larry. Will, a middle aged tabby cat, nodded his head, although he wasn't listening to a word Larry was saying. "I mean come on. Why do those bastards get to check this case out? Sally gave me the name of the agents who visited her. Can you check them out?" Will's ears perked up as he heard Larry mention something about checking names. "What names you want me to check out boss?" asked the tabby. The Doberman reached into his pocket and took out a slip of paper. "Ariel Perez, and Eric Carballo. Check to see if they're really on the NCIS's payroll." Taking the slip of paper from the officer, Will set it down in front of him and opened up a search program on his computer tablet. Glancing down at the paper, Will typed in Ariel's name first, and pressed entered on the tablet. Within seconds, a profile of Ariel, and a picture was displayed on the screen. Will glanced at all the information listed, and was surprised to learn that Ariel was 17, and an agent for NCIS. "Eh...boss, Ariel checks out, but he's 17." Larry's eyes widened as he heard what Will said. "Check out the other guy." Nodding, Will deleted the search for Ariel, and typed in Eric's name. What popped up on the screen, made both Larry's, and Will's eyes widen.

Location: Sally's Ranch. Time: 3:33 p.m

"Why are we here again?" asked Eric as he gazed through a pair of binoculars. Ariel looked at the lion, then back at the barn he had a camera trained at. "We're here because we're going to find out what our little killer alien looks like." said Ariel. Eric let out a sigh, accepting Ariel's answer at face value. An hour went by, and no aliens made an appearance. Letting out a huff, Eric put down his binoculars, and asked Ariel how much longer they had to wait. "Well cat, I think till the day we die sounds good. What do you think?" Eric let out a small hiss at Ariel's reply, then turned back to watching the barn. After another ten minutes of waiting, Eric finally noticed something. "Hey Ariel, I see some sort of creature walking into the barn." said Eric as he followed said creature with his binoculars. As soon as he heard Eric's words, Ariel pressed a button on his camera, and was soon recording the creature. As the camera recorded, Ariel counted out two minutes in his head. Soon as he hit two minutes, Ariel shut off his camera, and told Eric to follow him to the car. "What, we ain't gonna kill the damn thing?" quipped Eric. Ariel just gave the lion a smirk, and started walking towards his car.

Location: the hotel. Time: 8:08 p.m

Ariel banged his head against a table as he finished reviewing the footage he had recorded, for the umpteenth time. Eric, concerned, walked up to Ariel, and put a paw on his shoulder. "What's wrong man? What did ya find on the cattle mutilations? Still think it's aliens?" If looks could kill, the glare that Ariel was shooting at Eric would have at least put the lion in the hospital. "The creature in the footage doesn't look like an alien. It's a quadruped, has scales, and has spikes running down its spine. Something about it is familiar, but I don't remember where I've seen it." Sighing, Ariel reached into his bag, and took out his tablet computer. Eric looked on, slightly worried about the boy. Two odd months traveling with Ariel, killing monsters. I'm actually worrying about him. Why's that? Eric's tail swayed back and forth as he thought about Ariel. Just as he was about to voice his concerns, Ariel let out an excited, "of course! I can always use Wikipedia!" _ _Eric raised his eyebrows at what he just heard. "Ariel, you sure you wanna use that website?" Ariel nodded excitedly in response to Eric's question, then told the lion to go get them some food. Eric nodded his head, and was soon on his way out the door.

As he watched the lion walk out of their hotel room, Ariel let out a small sigh as he turned back to his research. It's been a while since I was last confused by a supernatural creature. And even with all the amphetamines in my body, this creature is making me tired, and I'm not trying to kill it yet._Furrowing his brow, Ariel typed in a new search on his tablet, and came up dry again. He was just about to try another search, when he heard a knocking sound come from the door. _I thought I told the lion to go get us some food, thought Ariel angrily. Letting out a small huff, Ariel walked over to the door, and opened it. Aww fuck. Standing at the door, was two officers, one of them a gator, the other a human. "Can I help you?" asked Ariel. The officers regarded Ariel with a small glare, then the gator spoke up. "NCIS Agent Perez, we're here to ask you why you're in the company of a person wanted for the questioning of the murder of Melissa Carballo." Ariel looked at each officer in the eye, then looked at the floor, and then back at the officers, a look of happiness on his face. "Well officers, I was lonely. And a person of interest in a murder makes for having an interesting conversation with." The officers looked at each other, then the gator reached for his handcuffs, "look smartass, I can arrest you for aiding a criminal. In fact, I'm going to do just that." Ariel's look of happiness disappeared as he reached into his right pocket, and took out a small pistol. Without so much as a thought, Ariel shot both officers in between the eyes. Both officers dropped to the ground at the same time, their faces frozen with the shock of getting shot. I'm a smartass. I agree. But these two dumbasses are dead. Now what do I do? Ariel asked himself as he regarded the bodies. A minute later, an idea popped into Ariel's head. I may just be able to kill this creature after all. Smiling, Ariel reached into his pocket, and took out his earpiece.

Location: a desert in New Mexico. Time: 9:19 p.m

"So tell me again why we're here." sneezed Eric as a branch from a bush ran across his nose. Ariel let a small grin appear on his face as he explained to Eric the reason why they were there. "We're here because we're gonna kill the creature responsible for the mutilations. Those dead bodies of the officers we dumped over there, are the bait." As he spoke, Ariel laid out an arsenal of ammunition, ranging from tracer rounds, to frangible rounds. Eric nodded as if he understood, but it was clear he didn't. _Well, I have a lion who doesn't know a thing about where these bodies came from. And I also have a supernatural creature to kill. My life is just great. _The grin still on his face, Ariel picked up one of each bullet he had set out, and loaded them into his favorite gun, an M14. After he finished loading the bullets, he passed the gun to Eric, and then loaded his own weapon. "So Ariel, you ever gonna tell me about your life?" asked Eric as he placed his gun next to his thigh. Ariel looked up from his weapon, and glanced at Eric. "What would you like to know?" asked Ariel as he checked out his gun. Eric's eyes widened, surprised at how easy it was for him to get Ariel to open up. "Well, how the hell did you end up working for both the F.H.B.I and NCIS at the age of 17?" Ariel smirked at the question as he remembered how he got his job as a Federal agent. "Well, when you can hack into government computers like I can, and not get caught for several years, you'd be surprised at what the government will do to make sure that their secrets don't get out. I got the jobs as a way to silence me. That, and my job departments are actually based all around the supernatural." Eric looked at Ariel with new admiration in his gold feline eyes. Ariel nodded as he fell silent.

After another hour of silent waiting, Ariel let out a sigh as the smell of the dead bodies started to get stronger. _If that fucking creature doesn't get here soon, Eric and I will leave. _As Ariel was thinking this, he reached for a small bottle of Malta he had brought with him, and took a long sip from it. When he finished, he turned to Eric and asked the lion a question. "Hey cat, I've always wondered this. Humans who have allergies to animals, have always been allergic to those animals. Care to explain why those same humans aren't allergic to Furs?" Eric opened his mouth as if to say something, then closed it._Huh, that's actually a good question, _thought Eric. Shrugging, he gave Ariel his answer, "that....is a good question. I have no idea what the answer is." Ariel just shrugged at the reply, and took another sip of his Malta. As he was drinking, Eric turned to him and asked him a question he wasn't expecting to hear. "Ariel, I've heard you joke about wanting to kiss girls after you get punched in the face. I just wanna know, are you actually straight? Or are you gay?" When Eric finished asking his question, Ariel spat out the Malta from his mouth, and glanced at Eric with a confused look on his face. Before either the lion or the boy could say anything, they heard a small growl coming from the bodies. Eyebrows raised, Ariel signaled for Eric to grab his gun, then he grabbed his own. After taking the safety off of each weapon, Ariel and Eric peeked over their hiding bush, and checked on the bodies. What they saw, finally told Ariel what kind of ammunition he had to use. In a small whisper, he told Eric, "listen, the creature that's been attacking the cows, and that killed Tony, is a Chupacabra. The only way to kill it, is with an incendiary round. The chemical compound of the bullet will kill the damn thing." Eric nodded at Ariel, then he slowly raised his gun, and aimed it at the feeding Chupacabra. Ariel followed suit, letting out silent breaths as he watched the creature's movements. After five minutes, the Chupacabra was standing over the body closest to Ariel and Eric. Looking at the lion, Ariel raised three fingers and brought each one down slowly. Once the last finger was bought down, both Ariel and Eric fired their guns, keeping their fingers on the trigger, emptying out the magazines of their guns into the Chupacabra.

They watched as the tracer rounds lit up the night briefly, before it entered the creature. They cringed as they watched the frangible rounds rip apart the stomach of the Chupacabra. It wasn't until the 15th round from each gun, that the incendiary rounds shot out of the guns, spinning through the air, and embedding themselves into the skull of the Chupacabra. The entire time Ariel and Eric were shooting, the creature was letting out screams of terror. The screams finally stopped once the incendiary rounds pierced the creature's skull. After making sure that the Chupacabra was dead, Ariel and Eric walked up to the corpses. "Well, we got the damn thing. Now it's onto Washington, D.C." said Ariel as he walked around the Chupacabra's body. Eric looked up at Ariel, smiling at their recent kill. "Washington, D.C. huh? Ghost of Lincoln killing people?" joked Eric. Ariel snickered and nodded as he walked away from the bodies, and started walking towards his car. Eric raced to catch up to him. "By the way, is it really safe to go to Washington, D.C? Sure it's been over a thousand years since the accident that Sarah Palin caused when she was president, but is it still safe?" Ariel let out a small laugh, and nodded his head as he got into this car and put on his shades. "Cat, as far as I'm concerned, we're going even if it ain't safe." Still smiling, Ariel put his car in gear, and motioned for Eric to get into the car. The lion quickly obliged, and a minute later, Ariel was driving out of the desert, a dust trailing behind his vehicle.

I will admit, the method of killing the Chupacabra was an on the spot moment. I've researched the damn creature, but never found any method of killing it, so I just decided, 'what the heck, let's go with incendiary rounds.' Oh well, what can ya do. Anyways, this chapter ended with the death of another supernatural creature, and with Eric trying to figure out if Ariel is gay or not. As this series goes on, a lot more will be revealed. Before then, I'll just leave you with this, stay tune for the next chapter.
